Another Galactic/Space Nation RP?

I have noticed that the only current Space-age RP on this forum is overcrowded as far as perspective players goes.

If I get enough interest, I would be willing to GM a Space-Nation RP of my own. However, it has been a LONG time since I last GM'd, so some help would be useful.

Plot and concept are completely up in the air right now, and are dependent on how much interest their is.

Can we do a near-er future, pre-FTL RP? Like a colonizing the solar system thing? I've been wanting to do that for a while. I'm also willing to help GM if you'd like help, somehow. I can make charts. Or come up with some ideas. I'm in a lull; most of the RP's I'm in seem to be winding down (notable exception: the one that's starting up).

I am game for a sci-fi NRP.

My advice for a prospective setting is that we are the colonial remnants of a once-mighty empire that suddenly collapsed and left us in our own sector to struggle to survive, fighting over resources, technology, manpower, and ships to shore up our lone colonies.

I'm thinking in terms of a smaller-scale NRP, where every capital ship and hero we have really count instead of being just stats on the board. Not about epic-scale conflicts and national politics, but of individual heroism and personal conflicts akin to the wars of the Greek era of heroes and dramas in close-quarters battle.

But thats just me talking. I'm game for whatever the GM decides to throw my way.

I am up for this. I agree with Pre-FTL but I think that we should be in a larger solarsystem possibly one that is actually 2 or three sun system. especially since you can end up with an interesting story as these planets pass between the suns onto new orbital paths so yeah.

Who would be interested in it being about only a small section of the larger galaxy?

I'm up for this, happy with either choice really. If you need a hand with GMing I'll throw myself into the mix; it's been a little while since cracked some skulls co-GMed but I'm sure I'll remember all the old tricks.

I would be interested in this, I would say go for a now collapsed empire and since its fall we play small factions now trying to expand their own empires. Fighting over planets and organising alliances.

Oh boy, this sounds interesting.
I'm a bit more for Skylar's idea, as that leaves more breathing room for OC Content and sounds like it's got more story/character potential.

I have seen this more-or-less in every Space NP I have ever played, however, I'm planning to do this type of story but with a twist.
