[IC] Exploring Kalos

Kjolmar immediately started running after Espeon. Not very much later they bumped into Jolene. "Stop right there!" Jolene seemed slightly annoyed that they found her so fast, but her annoyance quickly turned into a confident smirk while she threw three pokeballs into the air. "Yamask! Foongus! Woobat!"

Kjolmar grabbed towards a pokeball at his belt. "Guys, I could use some help from Espeon and Absol, if you're up for it. Three versus three seems more than fair, right?"

Olli looked around for the plasma grunt who was no where to be seen. Olli asked Absol to try and sense any danger involving that grunt. Absol lept ontop of the Sanatlune city water fountain which was shaped like a Roselia. Kjolmar and Charlotte had started running with espeon in the front. Absol jumped down in front of Oll and Olli jumped on his back. Absol ran towards the others to catch up. "Dont worry Kjolmar we will get your Froakie back!"

"Go, Gyarados! Use Water Gun on Yamask!"

[Petal]

Charlotte pointed at Foongus.
"That one is mine then. Espeon, use Confusion!"
"Olli, can Absol take on that Woobat?"

Yamask used Protect to block Gyarados' Water Gun and then countered with a Night Shade. Gyarados managed to surprise Yamask from behind with another powerful Water Gun and it knocked Yamask out. One down, two to go. Kjolmar looked at how the other's were doing.

Foongus' Absorb hit Espeon badly, there was no way it could've been avoided.
But then Espeon used a Quick Attack, followed by a extremely powerful Psybeam.
Espeon was the winner.
Two of Jolene's pokemon were unable to continue the battle.
It all depended on Olli's Absol and Jolene's Woobat, but Charlotte had a pretty confident feeling about it.

Olli nodded as he was told to take down the Woobat. He smiled and pointed at the flying ball of fur. "Diana take down that Woobat with Night Slash!" Absol's eyes glowed and so did her scythe, she ran toward the Woobat at full speed jumping and slashing with his head when reaching the Woobat. Slowly the woobat started to fall, "Now use slash Diana and finish him!" Diana slashed again at woobat this time taking him to the floor to defeat him. Olli smiled and Absol jumped back to him. All of Joelenes pokemon were defeated "I'm done guys"

Jolene hissed in anger. "My pokemon definitely need some training, they are clearly out of shape. Frillish, use Mist!" And once again, Jolene escaped by the aid of Frillish' mist. Luckily, the box with Panpour was still there. Kjolmar ran towards it and freed the poor thing. "Are you alrighy, Panpour?"

"Thanks for the help, guys! It might've not gone that smooth if I had to do it all by myself. You know what, there is something I have to do right now, but could you meet me in Lumiose in one week from now?"

ONE WEEK LATER

Kjolmar felt a bit disappointed when he found out that the Lumiose gym leader was currently not available to battle him because he didn't have enough badges. He had trained really hard for a whole week and even made some changes to his pokemon team. When he heard from Charlotte that she wouldn't be able to make it, Kjolmar felt even worse. Not only had his battle skills improved, he had also studied quite a bit while his team was resting to regain their energy. Luckily, Olli had confirmed that he would meet Kjolmar at Lumiose and they would travel to the next gym together.

At the moment, Kjolmar was having lunch at one of Lumiose' finest restaurants. Litwick was keeping him company, but it pretended to be a real candle because they figured that pokemon weren't allowed outside their pokeballs inside the restaurant. That would prove to be a bit of a problem because ever since Kjolmar transferred the rest of his former team to professor Juniper, Litwick refused to go back in to his pokeball, afraid it would be sent away too. When Kjolmar had payed the bill, he whispered to Litwick: "Okay, let's head outside."

Outside, he was thrilled to see a familiar face. "Olli! Over here!"

After what happened at Santalune City Kjolmar headed off, but insisted that Olli met him at Luminose City in a week. Olli agreed, something about a different approach to his normal journeys made him excited. Olli had traveled almost all of the regions and had done it by himself, just with his pokemon as company. This was different, he knew that he saw friends in Kjolmar and Charlotte. He too headed away from Santalune City in search of some exploration and training and agreed to meet the other at Luminose. Although he may not be on his own for much longer in his journey, for now he was. His Chimchar sat on his head as usual.

Over the week he had achieved quite alot for his first week at Kalos. Firstly Olli had sent his Ambipom and Heracross back to Professor Rowan. Olli knew it was the right thing to do. You see Ampibom and Heracross were not actually his pokemon. They were his father's. He had grown up with them both as a child and his father lent them to him for expeditions but Olli knew that this time he had to make new bonds with his own pokemon. Olli had other pokemon he had caught than just Absol and Chimchar but they were back in Sinnoh too, for a different reason. He always wondered how they were doing with her......

To add to this Olli had also caught his first pokemon in Kalos. He had caught an Eevee which he had named Lunar, due to a weird crescent shaped marking on its forehead. Olli walked into Luminose City smiling ready to meet Kjolmar and Charlotte and tell them about Lunar. As he walked past a restraunt, Kjolmar came out. How strange! Olli ran over and smiled. "Hey Kjolmar, How you been?" Olli said as he looked around "Wow, its big here huh?"

Proudly, Kjolmar smiled with confidence. "I've been great. My pokemon have been training really hard. It would be a lot of fun if we could team up again for the next gym as well. But first, let's enjoy our stay here in Lumiose, shall we? Is there anything in particular you wish to visit while we are here?"

Litwick floated around the boys and then suddenly went straight through Olli. Kjolmar gasped at the sight of that. "Sorry, I think it's trying to get our attention. It's being acting a bit strange lately, it doesn't even want to return to it's pokeball."

While Kjolmar pondered why Litwick was trying so hard to get his attention, his look crossed the restaurant's window and his eye fell upon a food plate. "Maybe it's hungry, sort of. I had a lovely meal but Litwick don't eat physical food, they feed on energy of the dead. This city has many things but I don't think there is a graveyard or something similar?"

Olli smiled at the sight of the Litwick, it was so cute. He admired the flame as it floated round. "What happened to Froakie?" he asked. Olli was reminded of his own good news. "Hey Kjolmar, I'd like you to meet my new buddy" He said with a huge smile on his face. He pulled a pokeball off his belt which he had customised by engraving a crescent, just like the one on Lunar's head onto it. He threw it up and Lunar jumped out, starting to run around Olli's feet.

"Kjolmar, this is Lunar. She's an Eevee I caught on the way to Luminose. I feel like i had a connection to her, look at her marking on her head."

Meanwhile Chimchar climbed down from Olli's head and started running around with Lunar, Chimchar and Lunar has very similar personalities. Silly and Confusing. Litwick slowly joined in. Olli watched and his mind was amazed at the bonds between pokemon. Having not known each other that long these pokemon were playing as if they were friends all of thier lifes. He turned to Kjolmar. "Isn't that cool? They way they bond like that? I hope thats the way pokemon see other trainers who help each other out."

When Olli's Eevee Lunar showed herself, Kjolmar laughed out loud. "You have one too? Look at this." Kjolmar revealed his very own Eevee. "This is Prince." Kjolmar's Eevee immediately showed an interest in Olli's Eevee and started playing with it.

Litwick on the other hand seemed to prefer hanging out with Chimchar. It sprayed some sparks of fire from it's flame towards Chimchar, figuring that it wouldn't be hurt by it, it was meant rather playful. Then again, how playful could a candle be that fed on the dead? Kjolmar was sure that his Litwick was different than others, kinder somehow.

"Well, it seems our pokemon agree on us traveling together. I got a note from Charlotte that she won't be joining us just yet and that we can go on without her for now. Too bad, I bet her Espeon would've like our Eevee's. So, where to in this big and wonderful city?"

Olli was amazed by the fact Kjolmar too had caught an Eevee. Prince and Lunar began dancing around, clearly loving each others company. This made Olli smile, this is the reason he became a pokemon trainer, to experience bonds between pokemon and humans but also pokemon with other pokemon. Seeing these pokemon play together in Luminose city brought everything to a new light. He had an idea.

"Hey, Professor Rowan told me that his friend Professor Sycamore lives here in Luminose and said we should go see him. He's on North boulevard." He said as he signaled for the pokemon to follow them.

"Hey Kjolmar also i've been thinking. How about we do what we did in Sanatalune City's gym at every Gym. Let's take on the gyms together. It's clearly aloud in the rules otherwise Viola wouldn't have done it. I just feel our pokemon have such strong bonds already, why not take advantage of that in our journey. What d'ya say?" He said quite confidently awaiting a reply.

The smile on Kjolmar's face widened. "I think that's a great idea, our teamwork will earn us more badges!" Kjolmar got a bit lost in thoughts when he thought about different team combinations. Surely their Eevee's would insist to team up, but who would he match with his other pokemon? Time would tell.

When Olli spoke of professor Sycamore, it gave Kjolmar an idea. "Perhaps he could figure out what Litwick's problem is. Alright, let's head to the North boulevard then! Are we walking or taking a cab? The weather seems nice so I'm up for walking if you are." Meanwhile Litwick wasn't bothered that Kjolmar was worried about it. Or so it seemed, at least.

Olli smiled. "Yeah your Litwick seems to crave alot of attention, its not like any Litwick ive ever seen. We will walk to Sycamore's lab, its just around the corner". He continued to walk through the streets of Luminose, conversing with his new friend. Thier pokemon skipping beside them.

Sycamores Lab

As Olli walked through the doors of the Lab, his mind was blown by the technology that was held within it. Complex machines and scientists covered the room. A scientist walked over to them both as if he knew who they were. "Ah yes, Professor Sycamore has been expecting you, please go up in the elevator. He is on the third floor. Olli shrugged at Kjolmar to show that not even he knew what was going on. He walked over and entered the lift, Eevee and Chimchar climbing onto his shoulders in the meantime. The lift stopped and the doors opened. The room was amazing.

This was clearly Sycamore's office. It had windows which you could view the whole of Luminose City in. Olli stepped into the room in awe. It looked so cool.

"You must be Olli, Professor Rowan has told me alot about you kid." Said an unfamilar voice from the corner of the room. There stood a quite young man with brown cascading hair. This must be Professor Sycamore. "Yes. Professor Rowan sent me here." Olli replied. "Yes he did on my asking, I wanted you to come here so i could give you this. Sycamore handed over a small circular stone, it was white and black in color much like a ying yang symbol. "What it is?" Olli inquired. Professor sycamore laughed. "Thats for you to figure out, I have heard alot about your past from my dear friend Rowan Olli Wyatt. I believe this is an item that will prove useful over time." He chuckled as he noticed the unintroduced trainer in the room, Olli quickly noticed this and spoke up. "This is my friend Kjolmar Professor. We met in Santalune City, we beat Viola together and earned our badges together." He smiled with pride.

Kjolmar gasped at all the technology in the lab. He was more than impressed, in fact, he'd consider becoming a lab assistant one day. Professor Sycamore seemed to be waiting for Olli and handed him sort of stone. Kjolmar wondered what it could be but apparently Olli was supposed to find out.

When Olli introduced Kjolmar to professor Sycamore, Kjolmar shook his hand. "It is nice to meet you, Professor. I've heard of your reputation, Professor Juniper seems to be quite fond of you." Kjolmar blushed a little. That had sounded a lot better in his head.

"Professor, this is Litwick. It's been acting really strange lately. For example, it suddenly refuses to go back inside his pokeball."

Sycamore inspected Litwick for a while and then asked "Would it be okay if Litwick stayed here for a bit so I could examine it's behavior? I'm also rather stunned that it seems less morbid than other Litwick."

Kjolmar looked straight at Litwick. "Only if it wants to. You see, it has a certain fear that I would transfer it to Unova. What do you think Litwick, do you want to stay here for a while? It's okay if you don't want to."

Litwick seemed to be considering it. Then it's flame grew a bit bigger, it seemed to smile and nod and vanished into one of the walls. Kjolmar turned back to Sycamore. "I think it agrees, but good luck on keeping an eye on it, it comes and goes when it wants to." It reminded Kjolmar a bit of his Emolga, who showed similar behavior. Kjolmar was a bit disappointed that Litwick hadn't even said goodbye. He wondered if it realized that Kjolmar would be gone longer than just a few days.

"Speaking of earning badges... Let's head to Cyllage?" he asked Olli.

Olli smiled as Kjolmar confidently spoke to Professor Sycamore about Litwick. It was intriguing to see that even Professor Sycamore was amazed by Litwicks personality. As Olli watched Kjolmar hand over Litwick to the professor for research, Kjolmar asked the question of the Cyllage Gym. Olli smiled mischeviously towards Kjolmar. He forgot about the fact they had more gym badges to get. Olli turned to the Professor and shook his hand. "Thanks Professor, I'll take good care of this stone, I will find out what its for." He said as he walked out of the room and into the elevator.

As he walked out of the lab and back into Luminose City. Olli looked for sign's for Route 5. Route 5 connected Luminose to Camphrier Town. This was the way they needed to head to get to Cyllage town. He saw a big archway leading out of the town with the number 5 above it. "This must be the way, come on Kjolmar" He taunted Kjolmar as he ran off towards the archway.

"Hey!" Kjolmar laughed and followed Olli. It didn't take long before they encountered some wild pokemon. It would be an excellent idea to catch a Kalos region pokemon to add to his team. But to do so, he had to weaken it in a battle. He noticed a panda-like creature with a leaf in it's mouth and took out his pokedex.

Pancham, the playful pokemon. It does its best to be taken seriously by its enemies, but its glare is not sufficiently intimidating. Chewing on a leaf is its trademark.

"Alright, that's the one I want! Emolga, come on out!" Emolga appeared with a great confidence as it shouted it's name. Kjolmar pointed to the wild Pancham. "Emolga, use Thundershock on Pancham!" Emolga flew up, made a loop and used Quick Attack, knocking Pancham back. Kjolmar seemed confused. "That's not... Thundershock... But it worked I guess... Okay, Emolga, use another Quick Attack while Pancham is still down!" Emolga seemed more interested in an apple hanging in a tree, however. It flew to the tree and started nibbling the apple. Kjolmar sighed deeply. "Emoooolgaaa..." Kjolmar saw no other choice but to retreat Emolga and switch it with another pokemon to finish the battle.

"Panpour, I choose you! Use Fury Swipes!" Luckily, Panpour seemed to have no trouble following orders and it used Fury Swipes. Pancham dodged it and tackled Panpour, hitting it rather hard. "Don't give up, Panpour, use Water Gun!" That moved seemed to be rather effective and it knocked Pancham out cold. Kjolmar quickly threw a pokeball and caught Pancham. "Succes! I caught myself a Pancham!"

As Kjolmar retreated Panpour, his enthusiasm regarding the battle outcome could be spotted from a mile away. "Did you see that, Olli?" he asked with great pride. He had completely forgotten about Emolga's disobedience.

Olli watched as Kjolmar raced off into the grass to find new pokemon. He wasn't suprised, Olli was excited to see what the Kalos region had in store for him. He watched as Kjolmar battled a wild Pancham. He was concerned however by Emolga's disobedience towards Kjolmar, but nevertheless he caught the Pancham. "Well done Kjolmar." Olli said as he came back over. "But what happened with Emolga dude, he just didnt respond to you? Arent you bothered by that?" He asked Kjolmar.
