I won't take offense, even though - to be perfectly frank - I know what a van is. I just wasn't expecting it to be the first thing to come to people's minds, mostly because 'Van' is an actual name. Its official meaning is 'of', which is why it ends up being used in the middle of people's names sometimes (part of surnames, to be specific); however, it's not really that uncommon as a given name, at least not in certain eras.

I originally made the decision to call him this because of the character 'Van Hohenheim', just for the record. It was a first name in that situation, not a middle name or a badly spelled part of a surname (people usually misspell things like 'van Helsing' as 'Van Helsing' due to misconceptions in popular culture. This is actually a discussion @Melo and me had in PM -- the fact that it's so common for people to make this misspelling is what led him to think it was part of his last name, when in reality it's a middle name and I'm spelling it professionally.

Lol, Leo's backstory makes his sexuality relevant. I just didn't feel the need to put it into his 'Notes' because as a general rule I think people assume you're straight unless stated otherwise. Also, minor elements of characterization IC can be impacted by it, so I usually take this into account for any character.

As for the other part of your comment... so people can have 'it's good to be alive sex' whenever they survive a round?
