"Come inside then," Talon said as he opened the door leading into his wagon, "you will be out of the rain here." He picked her up and laid her on a silk cloth cot. He turned his back to the group leaving the door open. He looked at her ankle without touching it.

"This could be a lot worse," Talon said as looked through his potions, "are you allergic to wurnwood?"

Artemis sighed softly. "I meant 'little one' as a term of endearment, not to offend you in the slightest. My apologies." She said bowing her head softly. "But you should do something about your leg. If it gets any worse, you wont have to worry about it...because you may not have it anymore." She said in sort of a grim tone. "A weakness like this is also very dangerous and could get you into some deep trouble. I just want to help you survive." She said resting her hand on her dagger in a calm manner. She hoped she would get treatment, because if she didn't, it would just slow things down.

"Just shut up and let the man do his job!" Saedd said angrily, "I do not care what you think of me now, before or after we've dealt with your injury, you were the one who put us in this situation in the first place!", Saedd picked Rena up and moved her into the wagon, it was at least dryer than outside. "My name is Saedd, you were injured and I came to help, nothing more, now stay in there until the apothecary is finished and we find shelter.", Saedd exited and pet his horse, it was tired after having to carry two people in the rain. "now we wait..."

Vakim stood on the side for a time, watching, as everyone figured things out. He was surprised by the Injured girl's voice and was instantly attracted to the small girl with such a strong voice. He didnt follow everyone into the hut, Instead he stood guard out in the rain, listening and watching for anything suspicious. "I kinda like this crew, we have a variety of talent, we all have nowhere else to be I'm assuming because we were all here... In the rain. I mean yeah sure we dont get along very well but that was just first impressions! We will all warm up to each other... Right?" he looked around, he had been absorbed in thought for a while now. Nothing seemed to have changed the storm still RAGEing and nothing else moved aside from the blitzing rain. "I doubt they will all stick together... They will probably all go their separate ways... What did I think? That I was going to go out into a storm and find the family Ive been looking for all my life??? Well shit... I guess I was hoping to find that... None of these guys want that though... I better keep my mouth shut... He thought as he fiddled with all his equipment and rubbing the mud off his boots one foot at a time with the sole of the other boot. "HEY, ARE YOU GUYS DONE IN THERE? AREN'T APOTHECARY'S SUPPOSED TO BE SUPER FAST AT HEALING AND SHIT??????? He tried to yell over the storm.

CRACK

Vakim whirled around to see a vampire poised ready to strike. "OH SHIT" He screamed as he shoved it away and drew his sword, after a moment realizing his sword was ineffective he sheathed it and wrestled with his bow to get it off his back. "Awe, shit shit shit shit shit.... He scrambled to get an arrow out of the quiver as the vampire stood up and jumped towards him. Vakim dropped to his back as he strung the arrow and released it right through the vampire's heart. "GUYS! GUUUYYYYYS! He screamed as he ran inside. He swung the door open after the last person in shut it behind them, "We have to go. NOW. I just got attacked by a vampire and then never travel alone. If there were only two of them the other is probably headed for help, and thats our window to get our asses out of here." He looked at everyones face in the room, they all stopped what they were doing and were now staring at him. "Its body is right outside I swear come see for yourself!" He said as he pointed towards the door. "Im telling you guys! We have to go now!"

Rena was annoyed at being carried and puffed her face a bit as Saedd abruptly left. "Noone asked you to help..." She muttered as he kept blaming her for this situation. She looked to the apothecary and then around her, trying to keep her mind off of things. The rain was dulling, but something didn't feel right. The aura of the place began to twist and chance, a presence she had not felt in a while. As she came to conclusions, the knight looking man came through the door; carrying on about how he was a vampire. They came looking for me... She thought as her eyes widened. She remembered the threat that she would be hunted once she was away from the protective eye of the Queen. Shit... She couldn't move, let alone run away; she was helplessly dependent of the people that had come to her aide. She grabbed the woman's wrist and mouthed, "Get me out of here." Humans were hasty creatures, where as Elves were more strategic.

"Over here." A loud voice boomed between the trees as the branches began to move. "She's over here, I can smell her filthy flesh." As the ran dissipated, four larger vampires two in the trees and watched their companion fall. As if it shrug it off, they separated; disappearing into the darkness and circling the wagon.

"Nice to meet you Saeedd. Names Artemis." She said with a head nod watching the injured elf. "Might as well know my name if I am here to help as well." She said hearing the sword swing. Shit...Artemis drew out her dagger when he heard the knight killed one. "God damn it." She said as she grabbed her gas mask made of thick cloth and placed it over her face. She would not want to breath in anything that could make her turn into those terrible creatures. "Hate to rush you medicine man but we need to get out now." She said drawing both her side daggers holding them up in front of her.

"MOVE!", Saedd pushed Valim out of the way and exited the wagon, drawing his silver sword he said: "COME AT ME YOU FUCKS!", a vampire lunged at him and he sliced through it with ease, holding his breath he threw the corpse into the bush, "VAKIM! Get that horse moving lest you want the gray death!" he said as he revealed a garlic from his cloak, holding it out to the vampires still circling...

As the rain ceased to fall heavy on her shoulders, Amira could sense something was not quite right. The birds that once quietly roosted in the twisted oak trees were now circling the sky; their mournful, banshee cries resonating through the very hollows of her bones. "Shit..." Amira knew she wasn't safe here. If she was to survive, she would have to leave, but the thought of not knowing what was going on plagued her, like the devil tapping playfully on her shoulder. "Dammit." She'd curse. Seeing no other option than to soothe her aching curiosity, Amira would turn in the direction of the commotion. Something she knew she would greatly regret later.

As Amira trekked further through the tall, weeping grass, she could vaguely make out a small group of figures stationed beside a parked wagon. One... Two… Three… In her head, she'd count the number of people. There were at least five of them visible, but it wasn't them she was so worried about. It was four she couldn't see that troubled her. Why was she doing this again? She wondered. Shaking her head, she knew there was no backing out of the task ahead. If she was to survive she would have to fight.

Sensing a large, ominous figure behind her, she’d swiftly turn to face the creature head on; her once smooth skin crackling as a crocodilian-like armor would envelop her form. "Vampire vermin." She'd hiss, slamming her clawed nails into the bloodsucking creatures temples. The vampire would writhe under the pressure of her grip, swiping its elongated talons in an attempt to gouge at her throat. Amira would somehow dodge this with a slight falter, stepping backwards into the forest clearing. This was dangerous.

"You! Sit tight," Talon told Rena as he heard all the commotion coming from outside. He muttered a quick spell before exiting his wagon. The vial containing his healing remedy floated in front of Rena's face. Two skeletal arms grabbed her head and held her in place. The fingers wrapped around her face, forcing her mouth open as the vial delicately lodged itself into her thoat. After the contents emptied into her throat, the vial pulled free and the skeletal hands held her mouth closed to ensure the liquid made its way into her body.

After a charming second, another vial appeared with a purple liquid with a red glow around it. This was the potion that would cause the pain in her ankle, that she would endure, to subside and feel only as if her ankle turned to jello.

"Oh joy," Talon said as he grabbed his crossbow and shooting the closest rock with it. The bolt exploded into fire which lit up the surrounding area. The vampires that were in the area became clearer to see and those more sensitive to light kept away.

"Come here," Talon yelled at the closest Vampire which in turn was forcefully ripped from where it was standing. It flew with impressive speed at Talon, its arms and legs dangling in front of it as Talon cut its head off its shoulders.

"Five gold for every vampire Tooth you collect," Talon yelled to everyone outside, "100 for an intact heart!"

Rena's eyes widened as the skeletal hands emerged and held onto her face and head. Her body felt pinned to the table, almost as if she was in some kind of trap. This was supposed to heal her?! She had never dealt with this situation before and she felt her body resisting; yet she wasn't moving. There was a tingling sensation through her body as it traveled towards her ankle. Her green eyes peered out an opening, watching as the others prepared to fight. Though she only saw four of them, there had to be more. There always was more... Her mind was racing as she struggled to regain control of her limbs. Injured or not, she wasn't going to just sit; they were after her. It was only a matter of time before they revealed her true identity and she wasn't sure how the group would react... Especially since they all just risked their lives to help--a half-ling.

There was a faint growling from the trees as Saedd pulled the garlic from his cloak. "Your meer herb cannot save you here," a louder one hissed and their footsteps fainted. The branches of the trees rustled and they were brought forward by the necromencer's beckon. The larger one of the four took a few steps forward. "We will spare you if you give us the small elf." He demanded, his voice booming through the forest. Birds scattered from their nests as the ground shook.

"who? her?", Saedd pointed to Artemis with his sword, still holding the garlic outwards, "you'd have to kill me first, CUR!", his insult definitely angered the necromancer, he grinned as another vampire lunged at him only to end up the same as the last, dead and in the bush, away from anyone not a vampire. "Vakim! I told you to get that cart moving! Talon! it's your wagon, don't fuckin' worry about me and move!"

Artemis pulls out a long throwing knife from her side landing one Vampire right in the heart. "Somehow I have a feeling they don't want me Saeedd..." She said softly so only her team could hear. She heard more footsteps getting closer. "We better start fighting harder or we are about to be outnumbered." She said throwing another knife towards one leaping out of a tree at her. "God I hate these fucking creatures." She said with a disgusted sigh.

"Delikeesh," Talon called out, "Forward!" Talon said as he jumped off the cart. He landed softly as he produced a black fire at his hands. He walked towards Artemis, since she was the closest, as he counted the vampires. He counted three, and those were the ones he could see.

"You have nothing to fear," Talon said as patted her shoulder, "Death will come for you, just not tonight." Talon raised his hands a launched a flow of black fire in the direction of the Vampires. It wasn't enough to kill any of them, but it was going to burn them and burn them badly. Talon knew the threat of the vampires was far more greater than that of a lowly hero. The closest vampire to Talon was on fire and rushing towards him. He reached his hand out and grabbed him with a magical fist. With a swift movement of his wrist, the magical hand smashed the vampire into the ground.

Talon squinted in the darkness as he reached over and grabbed Artemis, "there is something far more sinister at play here," he said to her, "they are hunting one of us. I wouldn't doubt it if it wasn't the injured one. What broke her ankle in the first place." He stopped speaking as he saw another five vampires come from the darkness.

"Like I said," Talon yelled, "5 gold for their teeth, 100 gold for an intact heart!" He unsheathed his crossbow, reloaded it. He took a vial out from his pouch and dipped the tip of the bolt into it. He smirked as he knew it was purely made out of Garlic.

"This will hurt one of you," he said as he took aim, "but which one."

"you'll get you your teeth later, dammit! the shits wanted her!", Saedd watched as the wagon took off with two vampires stuck to the sides, Saedd mounted his horse and chased down the cart. to the side he noticed a woman covered in blood, @Cat, he took no interest and egged horse to move faster. soon the cart leaned on its' side and fell on the vampire, killing it, the wagon blew up in flames causing the other vampire to run away in fear... "SHIT!", Saedd cut through the vampire with ease and dismounted, the horse connected to the wagon had been set free from its' harness and stood to one side, Saedd bashed through the floor boards of the wagon multiple times which scorched his arms and face, he pulled out Vakim and Rena at the last moment before the wagon blew again causing him to land on his back a few meters away. Saedd held Rena in his arms as he had fallen on his back, breathing hard. the flames danced in the rain and wind, it didn't go out for they were too strong from the apothecaries' items.

Amira would release the lesser vampire from her grip, it's feeble form colliding into the rocks beside her. The vampire would then flounder for a moment before regaining its balance once more, a crooked grin creasing across its lips. Soon, other nocturnal creatures where coming to its aid, their hisses distorting like ripples in a still water pond. The now agitated Amira could feel her scales bristle slightly as the thought of being outnumbered lay heavy on her mind. What had she gotten herself into now? If only she had listened to what her mentor had said, this would never have happened. Then again, she couldn't just leave them, could she? Cracking her neck into place, she'd shake the uneasy thoughts from her head. After all, she was the one who had gotten herself into this mess, and now she was sure as hell going to finish it.

As another vampire made a lunge for her, Amira would ram her fist into the creature's sternum; her claws piercing skin and bone as she reached for the heart. With a bit of brute force from her other arm, she’d pry the heart from the vampires now lifeless carcass, before tossing them aside and into the obscurity of the forest. One after another, she’d take them down, careful not to inhale their putrid fumes. All while this was occurring, Amira couldn't help but ponder what the vampire from before meant. What small elf? Is that seriously what they where after? Well, whatever it was, it had grabbed Amira's attention, and she wasn't going to let it go that quickly. Not after all this pointless bloodshed.

Vakim set himself into motion so fast that his accelerating foot simply slipped right out from under him in attempts to reach the door to get the cart moving. "Ugh~" He groaned as he lifted himself back to his feet. He fell so fast he had no time to stop himself and now his nose was bleeding all over, not to mention it felt like it got ripped off. He looked down at here he fell, and MUCH to his surprise, There was most of his nose, caught and cut off by a sharp snag of wood on the cart. "Holy fucking shit!" he yelled as he raised one hand to cover his face and reached down with the other to pick up the chunk of cartilage that belonged on his face. "Oh my god." He stared at his hand for the longest time until the cart jolted forward and threw him backwards and off balance. He reached out behind him with the hand that was just covering his face to catch himself, while doing so he knocked over and spilled multiple potions and concoctions that the apothecary had made. "You have got to be kidding me." He mumbled then took a look at Rena. Vakim's eyes widened very large as he jumped back from the skeletal hands gripping her head, then quickly reached out his hands, dropping the nose, to tear them off. However as soon as he did so they retracted into the abyss and Rena was totally free. "What~ in the fucking hell~ is going on. I must be dreaming." He stuttered as he looked out the door to see that the world had started to tilt sideways, quickly coming to the realization that it was the cart tilting rather than the world.

CRASH

As the cart smashed to its side Vakim's sword unsheathed and struck a large piece of flint that had gone flying when the cart fell. Once Vakim recovered the sword he saw the fire creep towards a pile of herbs and vials and just as Saeed broke through the floor he quickly scooped up Rena and passed her to him, then ran for the opening himself, only a tad too late.

BOOOOM

The cart exploded into a gargantuan inferno and threw him several meters from the cart singing most of his armor and clothing. As well as all his arrow and bow. (Luckily not his sword however.) He landed on his back in the mud and water which quickly put out any remaining fire and cooled the skin where it had been burned to a manageable pain. "fuuuuuck~" He whined weakly as he lay there on the ground with no nose, a singed back, and a throbbing head. He turned over slowly looking around, seeing everyone engaged in slight combat as they all ran to try to escape the attack. He attempted to stand up, having most of his clothing fall right off the front of him from no longer being attached in the back. He was not soaking wet and freezing with just enough clothing to cover him but to provide no protection at all. Not to mention his sword was not silver like Saeed's, So he was now defenseless as well. "Fuck. EVERYONE THIS WAY. FOLLOW ME." He says as he staggers to his feet and starts to head to his house as fast as he can. "LET THEM FOLLOW. DONT WORRY ABOUT THEM! I HAVE MY HOME PROTECTED FROM BEASTS LIKE THEM." He makes sure everyone has heard him and turns to lead them all to safety. Just as he turned his back he realised that there was one more than before, who now seemed to be fighting the Vampires along side them. He hoped that his enchanted barrier would let them in if they decided to follow. For the time being he decided to forget about it and focus on getting to the dwelling in the first place.

Rena let out a gasp as her body was forcibly released from the spell. As they crash through wood and flames, she hid her face in his shoulder. She could feel the flames scorch across the small exposed part of her face; even though his arms covered most of her and took the brunt of it. When they landed, she felt how hard he hit the ground. "Saedd!" She called out, she watched as the wagon burned and Valkim barely make it away himself. As he called out for the others to follow, she moved to her feet. Her ankle was still tender, but she could use it. "Can you walk?" She asked Saedd as she knelt back down beside him. She became defensive as she heard the creatures moving again and she could smell a demon near by. Should I? She contemplated using a skill she had not touched in years, and quickly shook her head. No, it'll give me away. The young elf girl's eyes were a piercing, violent green as she saw the beings form their shadows. Circling the pair, she prepared for anything until there was another loud explosion from the wagon. She quickly bent her body to cover Saedd's face as debris went flying around them--striking one vampire in the chest. With the threat of a forest fire, the creatures began to disappear; retreating back to the shelter of the mountain. With them, they left behind their dead.

A young man was not too far from the commotion and stepped through the trees not too far from Artemis. He wrinkled his face at the site of bloodshed, but he knew what exactly happened. The colony was out for fun again and chose a helpless group traveling. The wind picked up for a moment, swirling his black hair across his face. As he watched the elf woman fight off the vampires, his sharper eyes spotted one near her blindside. He took a quick step, appearing beside her. "Excuse me," his deep voice muttered as he struck his hand through the darkness. His long claw like nails sank into the other vampires throat and it fell away from him; dead. "They're leaving," he said to her, with his back still to her. "They fear the fire."

Artemis jumped pointing her dagger at the man who appeared from no where. "Who are you...What are you doing here?" She said not wanting to trust him at first. She knew he had just saved her life, but he was clearly no ordinary person. She could almost smell the grey death inside him. "You...you smell like one of them." She said backing up but not attacking yet. She did not understand why he saved her versus trying to kill her. "Why did you save me?" She asked as she noticed her hand start to softly shake as she kept looking around to make sure all of them were leaving. "If you plan on keeping us safe....follow us." She said unsure if she could trust the vampire but she needed to get to shelter with the rest of them. She ran towards everyone else to make it to the cabin. She knew it would be the fastest way to safety.

Kai's red eyes glanced at her just in time see her run towards her companions. Normally, he would have disregarded any comment and left; however, he was curious of her. Something about this elf drew her to him and he wanted to get to know her. With a long stride, he followed after her and his eyes narrowed, making sure that the other vampires were leaving. The fire was growing more intense as the winds caused it to swirl and crack. He stayed on the outer side of the group, avoiding the fire the best he could. "It might be best to get your friend to move," he spoke carefully as he kept his distance from the others. His face wrinkled as he looked down at Rena. As their eyes met, there was an intense moment of anger that passed between them; but they both looked away.

Talon stood atop a vampire as it tried to claw at his leg. The explosion that came from his cart made him scowl the people that were around it. He turned his attention to the vampire that tried effortlessly to claw his leg away. Talon smirked to himself as he watched the vampires hands twitching at its sides. He quickly dropped to one knee, almost collapsing the vampires chest as he did so.

"You see..." Talon said as he grabbed the vampires face, "this is where you surrender your teeth," he continued as he smashed the wooden stock of his crossbow into the mouth of the Vampire. He grabbed a rock and shoved it into the vampires mouth as he removed a pair of pliers from his pocket. The vampire screamed with either pain or desire to escape, but Talon remained.

Talon looked up as Vakim shouted something about his house. The fire that his cart started was growing magnificently as he saw purple, green, and violet looking flames. He grabbed one of the vampires teeth with the pair of pliers.

"That can't good," Talon said aloud recognizing the poisonous fumes of several herbs that resided inside his cart. He ripped his shoulder back and pulled his hand out of the vampires mouth. A spray of blood shot over his shoulder and a wail of pain came from the vampire. The fire was enough to keep the others off his back for a minute. He followed suit as he ripped the vampires teeth from its mouth.

"One... Two... Three... Four..." Talon said aloud again as he stood up, "Thank you kindly sir... no lets see here." Talon removed a dagger out from it's sheathe and stabbed it deep into the vampires chest. It's bones cracked and the blade broke. With a shrug, Talon removed a small hammer and shattered the Vampires sternum. He ripped the creatures chest open and to dismay, saw the semi rotten heart that resided in it's chest. Talon grabbed the beast as he stood up and through it over his shoulder. He walked towards his now demolished and still burning cart.

He looked at everyone in the area, "Don't breathe in the gas, most of it will paralyze you," he said as he carried the Vampire into the fire and disappeared.

"Delikeesh," Talon said as he reappeared on his horses back. He noticed an open injury on his horses neck as well as the black and blue blood spilling from its eyes. He grabbed his horses head and turning his own he twisted its neck with a strong pop and crack sounding. The horse remained standing and fully aware as he leaned his body to one direction.

He smiled to himself as the screams of the vampire still came from the fire of the cart. He patted Delikeesh on the top of it's head as it's mouth slowly drooped open. 'You've been a strong companion of mine...' Talon told himself, 'you will always be strong now.' Talon disappeared on Delikeesh as he followed Vakim towards his home.
