[OOC] Fate/ Transcendent Paradigm (A Fate/GO Based RP) — Take 2!

She didn't care, but she's also under five feet tall and has quite noticeable breasts. I've been operating on the principle that people know Nero was a girl when they dig into it a lot, but because of her name, people make mistakes when looking at the emperors as a whole.

Because it seems implausible that everyone that was a girl in the Nasuverse has a case of mistaken sex. xD

Ah, I see what you mean. Ascelia didn't imply that she was surprise by Nero being a girl, just that it's an interesting contradiction. It's possible that she knew it before summoning and is just thinking how the hell all other historians missed that.

Most likely it's because someone changed the original texts describing her life, though. Like the Church, or even her own fellow Romans for later generations.

I hope no one has qualms about reverse causality insanity here, because I just noticed that Atalanta arrived on the fight between Medea and Medusa before everyone else thanks to her skills (Yay for barely useful stuff making sense at least once!). Meaning that, whil she won't invalidate everyone else's actions before her, reality will be rewritten.

Food for thought, but such is Fate.

I have lots of qualms because it makes no damn sense. Just because a skill CAN do something doesn't mean you HAVE to do it and turn chronology into a mess. Also you basically do directly invalidate my post by getting there first.

... and really, identifying Medusa because "she smells of snakes"? How many snake-related things are there in Greek myth? :P

But such a thought makes half of the Noble Phantasms and skills of the whole Fate series useless. It's pretty much like saying that you can't use Fragarach to counter someone after they launched their attack because this would invalidate their post. Or that a character with a ridiculous luck such as Artoria and Gilgamesh can't just break reality by breathing.

Aesthetics of the Last Spurt is something so situational that I had to spend the whole time of the previous iteration of this RP trying to find a way to put it to use. Don't throw a bucket of cold water on me just because it makes no sense, that's just how Fate is.

That said, if such a thing becomes a problem, I can easily edit it to Atalanta firing after Nero's arrival.

As for Medusa, I would find it even more of a stretch for Atalanta to not have a very good guess of who she's. Their legends are contemporaneous and Perseus' story was one of the most famous ones of the Classic Mythology. Furthermore, no matter how many snakes there are on Greece, once one is known for being a beautiful woman who lived in an island in the Aegean Sea.

It's just as bad as seeing a Greek Spider woman and not guessing that she's Arachne. Just makes no sense at all to me.

Regardless of that, I don't mean to start any fights. I just thought that it was a great chance to make use of the incredible situational nature of one of Atalanta's skills, as well as make the best use of the fact that she is in her homeland and time.

I'm just playing the huge advantage she should have on these conditions, but I can edit/tone down it if this is not for the best. Even if it makes sense considering how Fate isn't built on logic in first place.

Er, going to go ahead and say that, as co-GM, I think you should probably edit since it does kind of totally invalidate another player's post. ^^;

I'll also point out that the Nasuverse does have logic to it, it's just its own internal logic, but really the bigger issue is invalidating what another player posted before you did.

Also, the existence of things like Fragarach and Gae Bolg don't extend to posts ignoring chronology and common sense! If a post is predicated on nobody having gotten there and done something yet, the ability to run fast shouldn't then mean that the entire basis of the previous post is removed "because Nasuverse". I kind of recall Gae Bolg being written in a linear fashion despite messing up cause and effect.

Sure, sure, I can edit it later. Even though it didn't really invalidate anything else that happened, if you look at it right. Events that happen and then simply are rewritten are a part of Nasuverses internal logic. There's dozens of NPs and skills that work on the basis of rewriting reality. But whatever.

Regardless of that I won't make case of bringing that ability up ever again, since the only single use it has is (along with Crossing Arcadia) to make sure that no one can escape from Atalanta on foot, since she'll always win any race, reality be damned.

This just reduces Atalanta to Crossing Arcadia, since all of her other skills are either badly described, or game-breaking.

It's purely a case of "by arriving before another character, that character wouldn't have done what she did". That's why it kind of invalidates another player's post.

I also don't think Atalanta's skills are overpowered in any sense, it's just that in this case it was a bit rude to Rain since she specifically wanted to post first here so Nero could do something silly. ^^;

Now Atalanta is taking the chance and trying to go for the kill right from the start. She still got there first, just didn't do anything until the rest of the posts happened.
