Lex Luthor, the world's greatest supervillain, has been found guilty of crimes against humanity. He is now serving a lifetime sentence at the Super Max prison facility on Stryker's Island. Luthor's estranged son, Alexander Luthor Jr., has taken over his father's company. The new President of LuthorCorp has vowed to use the company's resources in order to avenge the wrongdoings of his father, seeking redemption for the Luthor name. Alexander has rebranded LuthorCorp as a humanitarian aid organization, confornting numerous crises around the world.

In an unprecedented move, Superman, the hero responsible for Lex Luthor's arrest, has endorsed the reformed LuthorCorp on behalf of the Justice League. Alexander has now embarked on a new initiative, assembling his own team of superheroes to assist the Justice League in their global battle against the forces of evil...

In this RP we will be playing as a brand new superhero team in the DC Universe, Justice League Incorporated. The team will of course be sponsored by Alexander Luthor Jr. and LuthorCorp, and will consist of all-new, original characters. Feel free to play any kind of superhero you'd like, but try to ground their story within the DCU. For example, maybe your character grew up in Gotham City, maybe they're a Thanagarian, an Atlantean, maybe they draw their power from the Speed Force, you get the idea.

The character sheet template will be outlined below. Once you've completed your CS, post it here. I'll give it a quick look and then let you know to post it in the Characters tab once approved. Like I said in the interest check threat, we probably want a team of around 6 superheroes, so nobody gets lost in the shuffle. Feel free to explore whatever corner of the DC Universe you'd like when creating a character, we want to have a good mix of powers and origins on the team. I'll be RPing as Alexander Luthor Jr., the coordinator of the team, as well as some of the supervillains we come across. However, most of the action will be on the other heroes. I'll try to incorporate elements of each character's backstory in different story arcs, so everyone will get a chance to take center stage.

Powers & Abilities: What is your character capable of? These are superheroes so they can be quite powerful, just don't go overboard and make a Doctor Manhattan. I love Doctor Manhattan but it just doesn't work for a game like this. A character rivaling Superman or Batman would be appropriate.

Personality: Are you the wise-cracker of the team? The strong silent-type? Give us a sense of how we can expect your character to behave.

Origin Story: Your character's background. Where they came from, how they got their powers, their motivations for being a hero. Probably the most important part. Rememebr that your character exists within the DC Universe, use this when developing their background if possible.

Superhero Name: Ion Knight

Secret Identity: Sam Moore

Powers & Abilities: Sam has been a mechanical organism since his transformation. His skin is metallic, stronger than military grade steel, and his insides seem to have become pure energy. By outputting this energy through his hands, feet, chest, and eyes, he can preform a variety of feats; such as firing a concussive blast or flying at up to mach 10 speeds. He seems to draw this energy from the Speed Force, possibly due to the nature of his origin, which is annoying for him, as the world seems to move in hyper slow motion.

Personality: Ion Knight has the energy of most speedsters, and the mouth to accompany it. A pretty rash hero, he is generally the first guy to jump in... and the first to get knocked through a wall. Despite this apparent idiocy, he is actually pretty smart. Just don’t stick him in water.

Origin Story: Central City, five years ago. Postgraduate student Sam Moore was working with fellow student John Merci on an experimental energy generator. The testing was going well, and they were about to publish their paper, when the Flash zipped past fighting one of his many, many rogues. The Speed Force energy caused a malfunction in the prototype. It exploded, changing the two scientists lives forever.
Sam gained the powers he has today, but John... John was lost that day. Torn between this reality and Quark, he became physically and mentally unstable. Blaming Sam and the Flash, he became the villain known as Frostbite. With his newfound powers, the former student took to the streets to try and stop his former friend hurting anyone. That day, he proved his heroism, and the press dubbed him Ion Knight... well actually they tried Iron Man, but everybody found that a tad stupid.

Powers & Abilities:

Skilled Egyptian Fighter: In order to become a man in the eyes of his father, he had to master the 3 fighting forms that would allow him the right to carry a weapon. These are Wrestling, Archery and the ancient art Tahib (A Stick fighting martial art)

Magics: James has magical power, however, is incapable of accessing them without his artifacts and incantations. These grant him access to other forms for a limited time. They are including:

Jackle Form "The Guardian": The Guardian form turns him into a being remeniscent of his father. 8 foot tall, able to run fast, jump high and able to lift about 10 tons over his head, the Guardian is his go-to form. The artifact in question is a bracelet with a jackles head on it. The Incantation goes:

Cast from the Father, see my power.
Protector of those in their darkest hour.
Guided were the dead kings of old.
Prey your soul balances, for pergatory is cold.

Ammit Form "The Devourer": taking the form of a large monster, it's head and tail is that of a crocodile, with the front-torso and front legs of a Lion and lower-body and back legs of a Hippopotamus. In this form, he is highly aggressive and is 100% focussed on taking down his opponent. Able to run at almost 80 MPH flat out, and able to overpower even a bull-elephant, this form is built solely to strike fear into the hearts of his opponet.

Origin Story: Son of Andrea Kurtz, the famous egyptian archaeologist. Andrea was 32 when she was exploring an ancient temple, she fell into a trap that led to the slumbering place of Anubis, God-Protector of the Dead. After cracking open the tomb, she awoke the ancient god of the underworld. In all honesty, she had always wanted to "Make it with a god." She walked away from that tomb with more than just knowledge on the ancient world. 9 months later, she gave birth to James "Ammut" Kurtz.

James grew up without a father, but his mother did take him where she went, meaning that he did get to see the world. Although he wouldn't meet the rest of his family until he was 5 years old. Turns out that Anubis wasn't the first god that she had slept with or even had a kid with. James met his older brother, Marcus "El" Kurtz. Marcus was Andrea's son from her first god-encounter. Many years before she had met Anubis, she was a teenager, abducted, en-masse by an alien force. Eventually, they were rescued by Superman, but, in an attempt to lose the Man of Steel, the aliens drove into the exploded remains of the Krypton system, knowing that the Kryptonite would defeat him. Andrea was the last one aboard the ship when, in the fighting, the ship was damaged to the point where they were forced to abandon ship. Superman was unable to do anything to save her as she had escaped into an escape pod that was going in the wrong direction. Eventually, she landed on a planet that was inhabitable. Here she met the fallen god Rao, God of Krypton, but now just a fallen deity with nobody to protect or to worship him. She managed to bed him too. Marcus had been a Justice Leage member for quite some time, having grown up rather fast, he was already, physically, in his mid-20's, despite being only 15 himself.

When James was 6, Andrea took a job as a curator of a museum in Metropolis and so, he grew up there. When he was 13, his powers started to develop, unfortunately, his only real power seemed to be dominion over cats (Them being guardians of the underworld, they saw him as a prince among them.) It was when he was 14 and his brother was really making headlines that he was determined to become a hero and gain super-powers like him. Andrea agreed to take him back to the tomb to meet his father. When he met his father, James was able to talk with the guardian of the dead. Anubis and Andrea talked for some time before she agreed to let spend time with his father. After a month, James had been taught how to fight and several magics. Although his physical body wasn't anything special, he had great power locked away deep inside himself. Supposedly unfathomable power... Ancient Egyptians rarely spoke about the end of the universe, but supposedly, the universe would be cast back into the chaotic sea that Atum had first bore it from and only he and Osiris would survive. Turns out they were wrong on one detail. The reason that Osiris survived was because he would create a being capable of doing so. Anubis warned James that he was that being. He was a vessel for Osiris and Atum's power, the first born from an Egyptian gods copulation with a human. Deep inside of him, he had the power of "The Destroyer Form."

James, now 18 and a legal adult has just stepped into the bigger world of Superheroing.

Robotosist

Superhero Name: Robotosist

Real Name: Dr Ularius

Appearance

Powers & Abilities:
Genius robotics engineer:- capable of creating and controlling various robots and mechas to help with crime fighting. These are either controlled from a wrist mounted computer or piloted directly.
Always has access to small hand sized spider drones that can be used for reconnaissance, remote repair or interface, shoot taser darts and can as a last resort be set to self destruct.

Augmented body:- Ularius’s lower half is a centaur like configuration of advanced metallic limbs. These are relatively tough and very strong. The allow him to reach high speeds, leap several stories and the manipulators on the forelimbs allow for rapid climbing. His upper half is that of a gorilla and is thus no slouch either, being far stronger than a human.

Gadgets:- always equipped with a tranquilizer dart gun, a wrist mounted computer, various repair tools, handcuffs, lock-picks and other small but useful devices.

Heavy ordinance:- has access to various more dangerous weapons, but will generally only bring an a mission what they think will be necessary. A laser cannon’s for alien invasions, a net launcher for bank robbers.

Personality:
A relatively serious individual, Ularius sees his position as something of a penance for the damage his creations were used to do. That said, he has come to enjoy this super hero antics, he became a roboticist to help people and to do so directly is an enjoyable experience. While he is generally focused when he sees some interesting piece of technology he can't help but attempt to investigate it, be it another hero’s tools or a villain's weapons.

Origin Story:
Once a prominent robotics scientist from gorilla city, Doctor Ularius was accompanying King Solovar on his second tour of the USA when the king was assassinated by a car bomb. Ularius was caught in the blast and his lower body severely damaged by shrapnel. He was rushed to hospital, but his ambulance was intercepted by mercenaries sent by an opportunistic Lex Luthor. He was taken to a secure facility owned by LuthorCorp where he was forced to develop various machines and robotics advances that were then passed off as the achievements of the senior scientist of the facility; Dr Anderson. While some of these developments benefited humanity at large, far to many where military weapons either used by Luthor in his various criminal activities or were sold to the highest bidder. Anderson particularly liked to torment Ularius by showing him the worst of the damages caused by the robots he was creating, while also bing in charge of coercing him to keep working.

With the general disarray and among Luthors underlings caused by his arrest and sentencing the Doctor made plans for his escape, vastly improving the augments he had built to repair his body, making them on par to the combat robots he had been loathed to create for the scientists. He managed to finish his preparations right as swat forces were sent to investigate the facility at the behest of Luthor Jr after the sites staff refused to acknowledge his new ownership of the company and sealed themselves inside.

Ularius broke free from his captivity when his captors were preoccupied with the Swat assault. The doctor then saved the woefully unprepared police force from the machines of his own creation, attacking Luthor’s mooks from the rear, capturing some of them and shutting off or destroying the warbots. Dr Anderson attempted to escape in a prototype stealth mec and Ularius was forced to choose between capturing his tormentor or stopping the facility from self destructing with many humans still inside it. Compassion won over revenue and he chose the latter and as a result the Dr escaped.

It was after the facility was stabilized and the remaining robots defeated that Ularius met Luthor Jr. In the ensuing discussion the Doctor decided to join Alexander’s new superhero team, where he hoped he would be able to make amends for the damages his creations had done in the hands of the man’s father.

@Burning Kitty I like the character, the only thing is that since DOnna Troy is an established superhero already in the Teen Titans, Fury should have a different civilian name.

@mattmanganon I don't think James' mother ALSO sleeping with some Kryptonian God after getting abducted and taken into space is really necessary. I'd say you probably don't need the half-brother element and can cut that out of the backstory. For a nemesis, maybe something else connected to Egyptian myth or something based around the Shazam mythos since a lot of that also has to do with ancient Egypt.

@ZeusTheMoose part of his backstory is that his mother is a "Godslut" she has a thing about bedding gods. Part of her thing is that, after bedding Rao, she got a taste for the otherworldly and has been trying to scratch that itch ever since. I made this story for an original universe kinda thing. In that, Marcus was her son with an Angel so I thought I'd make it a little more tied into the DC mythos by making Marcus' dad a DC only God. Plus, Superman is sometimes called "The Angel of Metropolis" so I thought it was fitting to be tie him in with that.

I mean, I can drop him, it's not a dealbreaker. But I'd like that older brother figure, as well as that long running joke about his mother sleeping around with gods.

Superhero Name: Oblivion

Secret Identity: Don Damarque

Appearance:


Powers & Abilities:
His magical powers grant him access to a number of abilities. He's able to sense the fear of his victims, as well as instinctively knowing their greatest fears. His powers allow him to mirror those fears. His powers include transformation, teleportation, superior strength and speed, and manipulation of darkness. Even at base he's quite dangerous, but his powers are increased by the presence of fear, especially the fear of his opponents. Direct exposure to sunlight weakens his powers, and prevents transformation/teleportation.

Personality:
To the casual observer, Don and Oblivion are very different people. Don is a friendly and goofy man, making bad jokes and small talk, smiling and whistling. A typical dad, with no sense of personal shame. Oblivion, on the other hand, is something escaped from a nightmare. Sadistic, cruel, and twisted beyond human recognition. While they are the same person, Don's personality is segregated based on his situation. While in the mask he unleashes the nightmares within his mind, granting him access to their supernatural powers but also causing him to slip into a darker side of his personality.

Origin Story:
When his daughter fell into a coma, Don Damarque became desperate. When all medical approaches seemed futile he began to dabble into the occult, but even magic failed to return his daughter. Eventually he performed a highly risky ritual and managed to summon Dream of the Endless to Earth. While Dream was able to save Don's daughter, his intervention came at a price. For his daughter was lost in a nightmarish landscape within the Dreaming, and if she were to return then so would the nightmares that so tormented her. Don declared that he would take on these nightmares, that his daughter might live. Dream complied, but Don refused to fall into unconsciousness. His life transformed into a living nightmare, and even his soul was replaced with the stuff of nightmares. After only a single day he was driven insane, transformed into a monster. He hunted the night streets of Gotham, spreading terror and destruction.

Inevitably the newly formed Oblivion came into conflict with the Dark Knight. While unable to defeat the nightmare beast in single combat, the detective soon learned that this creature fed on fear. As such he lured it to an abandoned area, and then trapped it until sunrise. Unable to feed on Batman's iron-clad determination, the creature was weakened and defeated. But Batman was shocked to discover that this creature was in fact a person, who was somehow linked to the Dreaming. Through a series of adventures it was discovered that this link could not be broken without unleashing the nightmares into the real world, but that through hypnosis and training Don could learn to control and focus the nightmares inside of him. Thus he became 'Don' and 'Oblivion', two sides of the same coin. With his powers under control he donned a scary mask and hoodie to fight crime as the friendly nightmare.

Whitefire

Superhero Name: Whitefire

Secret Identity: Mariand'r, Mary Anders

Parents: Blackfire(Komand'r; biological mother), the Architect(Jason Fairbright; biological father), Starfire(Koriand'r; aunt), Robin(Dick Grayson; step-uncle), Raven(Rae Roth; godmother).

Personality: She has a rather charming, snarky and sarcastic personality - always cracking jokes, while also able to play the stoic for lengthy periods of time.

Origin Story: Birth of Whitefire

Kariand'r was born to Blackfire, Komand'r and sister of Starfire. Blackfire in question had recently escaped her sentence on the prison of Earth - alongside the other villain known as The Architect, a human sorcerer with who she commited several crimes together. Together the two of them, wreaking havoc across the continent - until they had been captured by the Justice League and sentenced to a lengthy term in a Meta-human Supermax Prison.

Both of them were later released, in exchange for their work in Task Force X - namely the Suicide Squad. While initial plans had been made between the two of them, to escape at the first sign of trouble - one issue caused both of them to drop the plan. Namely when it was revealed that Komand'r was pregnant. That situation alone prompted, them to stick around - as Komand'r wasn't willing to give up the child due to her Tamaranian nature and her father had been an abandoned orphan himself.

They remained the best unit in Task Force X - right up until, one mission went bad. As both Blackfire and Architect were caught in an explosion - he managed to save her with his magic, yet perished himself in the explosion. That incident left Blackfire heartbroken - as a weeks later she gave birth to Mariand'r; leaving her at the door of the Titan Tower, with her sister Starfire.

Blackfire herself later tracked down the criminal responsible - before she was able to execute the fiend; the Titans had arrived to stop her. Persuading her down from her act, in order to be able to see her child in the future. Her service in the Task Force X group, had shaved off her sentence to about twenty years - a term, she was willing to serve peacefully, provided that Whitefire was raised properly.

Whitefire herself, grew up amongst the Teen Titans - mostly dealing with her aunt Starfire, whom acted like a mother to her and Robin, whom was like her surrogate uncle. Her initial Tamaranian powers started to develop then - although, being half-human, her powers weren't strong. Being almost as weak as a child Tamaranian - meaning she was able to fly, yet her starbolts and eyebolts were very weak. Her strength being only enough to lift a refridgerator.

Despite this - another article of her powers started to emerge then. Namely from her father' side - as namely magic. In that regard, Raven their resident magician took Whitefire under her wing and started tutoring the child. While initially their personalities clashed - due to Raven and Starfire' different personalities and Whitefire being a miniature version of Starfire. They eventually, like the two best friends - learned to understand eachother.

While Whitefire was weak by Tamaranian standards - she was very strong in magic, to the point that she could control and manipulate the Arcana. The force of all magic - making her possess alot of potential yet also uncontrolled be a danger to others and herself. In that regard, Raven spend many hours with Whitefire - tutoring in the arts of magic, discipline and self-control. By the time that Whitefire was fifteen - she had become a fully-fledged sorceress; able to command the four elements and construct light in opposite to Raven' shadow constructs.

After Luthor' fall and imprisonment - Raven deemed her student trained enough to go and join the Justice League Incorporated.

Superhero Name: Fortuna

Secret Identity: Kali Durand

Powers & Abilities: Kali can sense and manipulate the probability of certain events occurring. Of course what she wants to manipulate cannot be absolute, such as a can on a table suddenly falling over but she can increase the probability of someone missing a green light, or of winning the lottery. She's also a little bit more durable than the average human but not much (think...Captain America or Batman).

Personality: Kali has a quick tongue and she isn't afraid to use it. Bantering is usually one of her favorite past times and she always likes to be right, even if she isn't right. She's definitely got a dry sense of humor, and speaks sarcasm as a second language. She is extremely loyal, and has a strong moral compass. She does, however, tend to think before she acts. She can be considered standoffish by some, although those who know her mostly consider her to be quiet until she's not.

Origin Story: Kali was born to the richest man in Ireland, although she was technically born in India. She was raised on her family's compound in Ireland, until she was 18 and decided to move to America to pursue college opportunities. She had managed to get a 4 year degree and master's in Astrobiology in about 6 years(give or take half a semester). In her final year of college, the bloodline parasites first landed and she got attacked. She was one of the ones who survived, lucky or unlucky that depends on your point of view. After she had recovered, she found that she could sense the probabilities of things happening. Suddenly, she could tell what was the probability of her flight back to Ireland falling out of the sky, and she could tell just how likely the horse her brother was approaching was going to kick him. It freaked her out for a while, but she got used to it. Of course after she got used to it she realized she could adjust these probabilities. She had gotten a job with NASA and had decided to move back to the States while she garnered experience with NASA so she could do her own research later in life back home. While she was working on a new theory she realized that, despite her abysmal throwing skills, every single crumpled up piece of paper had landed in the trash bin. When she focused on it, she noticed that the probability of her hitting the trash can was at 99%. So she had to do more experimentation, being the scientist she was. She traveled to metropolis for S.T.A.R Labs help with figuring out her new abilities.

@NecroKnight Approved. Minor edit would be that Tamaranian is spelled Tamaranean according to wikipedia. Good use of the DCU though with the Starfire/Teen Titans connection, lots of possibilities for the future.
