The Crown & The Flame

Intro:

This RP is based loosely off of the game Choices (available in Google Play or the App store if you’re interested in playing). In the Crown & The Flame there are 5 kingdoms that come together to form an alliance but they are betrayed by one of the kingdoms who slaughters all of the other monarchs. The heir of the kingdom who originally sought this alliance goes into hiding along with the others and bides her time to take her kingdom back. She eventually does regain her kingdom and unites the 5 kingdoms in time to defend them from a larger threat (and eventually can marry one of her companions). I tried getting this started as a 1x1 but have had a hard time so far so perhaps it makes for a better group rp.

Players will play as one of the heirs to the kingdoms who are coming together for an alliance. While romance will be involved in the RP there will be plenty of action, hence the 18+ tag. In the character sheet you will notice there is a spot for your intended romantic partner, you don’t need to have that filled out right away and it could change during the course of the RP. For now, sexual orientation is all you will need to put there so players know which characters their character can pursue. I will not assign pairings nor are they required but I do encourage players upon their characters being accepted collabing with other players as far as romance goes if they are interested in one of the other accepted characters.

The Kingdoms:

Khilux Empire

Khilux is mostly desert and so the people are hardy, used to harsh conditions. They are the poorest of the kingdoms but world renown for their warriors. They are a proud people who are easily offended when outsiders call them barbarians for their tribal lifestyle, even though they have large cities like any other Kingdom.

Nelia Kingdom

Nelia is the richest Kingdom but has no military to speak of. They have city guards and such in their cities and a royal guard but their borders are protected by their larger (military wise) neighbor, Dribia. They cover a large geographical portion of the world, housing many mountains that provide them with heaps of gold, silver and other precious gems and ores. The nobility of Nelia spend a great deal of time obsessing over the social season in the country, making sure they are up on the latest fashion trends, no matter how silly.

Vapridora Kingdom

This country is not available to players as this royal family will serve as the villain. They are a tumultuous people as they are constantly at war. They have the strongest military out of all the kingdoms and had a poor reputation among the other kingdoms. Military service is compulsory even when not at war for at least five years. Many stay in the military as it pays the best. The people of Vapridora are heavily taxed to afford the wars the blood thirsty royal family is after.

Dribia Dynasty

The smallest of all the kingdoms Dribia is a nice mix economically and militarily compared to the other kingdoms. They have the largest library in the world and encourage a lot of the sciences and arts.

Arolnan Dynasty

(Reserved for GM character as far as the heir goes for this nation)

Arolanians are a mountainous people and are rumored to have a formidable army but no one knows for sure as there is no known record of their kingdom having ever gone to war. They dwell in the mountains incorporating the mountain peaks of their geography as protection for their cities. They have world renown smith’s, crafting the hardest steel and the most ornate blades.

@HushedWhispersNot stupid at all. You can fulfill any role youd like but if unsure ask and I'll let you know. Knowledge of the game is not required as it's based loosely off the game but does not otherwise have anything else to do with the game.

@HushedWhispers I will update the original post when I get home from work but in short, the other heirs to the kingdoms (you do not have to be first in line to the throne but do know your older siblings will either abdicate or come to an untimely end). You can also be a commoner, an assassin, thief or mercenary if you don't want to play as royalty. I am reserving one of the royalty spots for my own DM controlled character but I will likely add another kingdom so as not to limit players current choices.

As for "intended romance partners", that puts early sign-ups in a tight spot since they don't exactly have a main cast to choose from, and some players prefer to let things happen organically.

As for the intended romance, you are not required to pick anyone and I included it because of incidents in previous RPs where a player was okay with being flirty but got really pissed off that the character they were flirting with kissed their character because they didn't want to go that far. It's not required to use but does allow players to state if they're collaborating that part of the RP with another player.

Zel Loc

Age: 23

Appearance: Zel is all muscle. Though her height is average for a young woman her age, her years of training have left her with an exceptionally toned frame. Long, pin-straight black hair hangs to the middle of her back. It is almost always tied in a tight braid; only when she is alone does she let it fall freely. Her deep-set amber eyes appear golden in the right light. She is wearing at least one piece of armor at all times, except for when she is sleeping.

Kingdom: Khilux

Bio/Personality: Zel is the eldest child, and only daughter, of Dren Loc. Despite her being female, and the heir to the Khilux throne, she did not receive any special treatment growing up. She partook in the mandatory warrior training, and went on to become a leader in her own right. It was always understood that Zel would take over when her father died, and her upbringing reflected that. Though his death at the hands of the warring kingdom expedited the process, Zel is prepared to take her rightful place. She also has a heart full of hate, and a blood oath to avenge the death of her father, by whatever means necessary.

Zel is a very complex person. The few words she does speak are either well-thought out advice, or dry, sarcastic humor. She is not quick to trust. When she is pushed to her limit, she is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Despite this, she is fiercely loyal, a trait that was bred into her, and honed during her time as a soldier. She is resilient, and a bit headstrong at times, as she was raised to be a leader. What she lacks in knowledge of arts and science, she more than makes up for in street smarts. Due to her upbringing, has a very difficult time sorting through her own emotions, and she can grow overwhelmed when others display theirs. To combat this, she often reacts incorrectly in social situations.

Prince Charming

Bio/Personality: He is the youngest of 3 brothers and as so, since a young age he had to work harder than anyone else in order to escape from their shadow. He studied fashion, art and gemstone crafting, perfecting the latter while he spent all his free time flirting and courting with young ladies. During his occasional sparing lessons he uses moves and "attacks" which make his sword stand out. The sword handle is covered in gold linings and diamonds, the latter which he crafted himself and he will use every opportunity to show off his craftsmanship. In every aspect he tried to be at least twice as brilliant as those around him, soon getting to the center of attention.

As for what he really feels when he goes out with girls, they are just fire to fuel his ego and self importance. The more prettier she is, the more his ego bloats when he shows her off he thinks on how good he is for winning her over. Everything is an accessory for him to help him shine even brighter. He never meddles with the low class and as so he is clueless of the "real down to earth" world that takes place "below" him. Though his first crush, real genuine love or as far as that goes for a teenager was with one of the king's guards, a young warrior woman.

If there are any immediately preceding major wars, that could be important. Geography is also a big deal, too. Where is each nation located, really?

There have been multiple wars, usually between Vapridora and other kingdoms. The reason all of the kingdoms are coming together to discuss an alliance is there is a new threat from the East that threatens them all and they will likely fail to defend against it unless united. As far as geography, I am still working on the map. All of the kingdoms are on the same continent.

Arolnan is to the far north west of the continent, their Kingdom is almost entirely made up of mountain ranges. South of Aronlnan is Nelia, making up the central part of the continent. To the east of Aronlan is Dribia, they make up a lot of the forest and wetlands of the continent. Khilux is the desert region to the south. Vapridora is in the north east part of the continent and has a strong navy since they have a lot of coast line.

Magic is not a thing in this world.
