@Zarkun Probably best to mention it in individual posts, so we've got our character's reasons for going their separate ways.

@Balthazar007 Ok, two things:

1) Another consistency question. Locations don't have missions any more, only Special Interest organisations do. I'm just wondering how to work in stuff that's already happened - Tommy and Cici are about to claim rewards for a Tefan Village mission, Jason is in the middle of a mission connected to his organisation, and Florence's current plot kicked off from a Feyhollow mission that took a turn for the worse. It could be semi-explained by the fact that Cici's in the Helping Hand Guild, but then again, Tommy isn't in an organisation yet. Aether Foundation and Legendwatch might also be Special Interest groups, simply because they don't fit the other categories, which might make things more consistent. That brings up another issue, though...

2) There's only one headquarters in Central, but several organisations there, and those headquarters have already been written about in the old thread. What should we do about this?

@LuckyBlackCat

The good thing about a soft reboot and time skip is that we can alter some things. Maybe, if you'd like to think of it this way. "Pokemon: New World 2.0" is a parallel dimension to the old site where some things are actually different, if only slightly. We don't actually have to work that into the lore, just background thoughts.

With that in mind, all missions that are wrapping up can simply be considered "complete" and everyone can claim the rewards that were promised by the old system. Missions that were in the middle or begining can be re-written as missions within organizations, as you suggested... based on the new mission system. And yes, Aether Foundation and Legend Watch will have to be Special Interest groups, which means they can house any of these missions. Also, as long as ONE of the people involved in a mission is a part of the organization that has holds it on its board, all is well. The rest of the people on the mission don't have to be in that organization, only one person.

Does that all make sense?

And I can bring over Aether Foundation myself here in a little bit, since ToadRopes isn't active anymore.

@Balthazar007 Yep, if the differences are minor, that's a good way to think about it. And the special interest organisation thing explains past missions, as most characters seem to be in the Helping Hand Guild.

Heyo. Potential new member here. I have a couple questions as I'm working on my character sheet, and I might have more later.

#1 Are there any particular locations where a new character could be helpful? I think my character would have grown up in a relatively urban place, but I don't care about the specifics.

#2 How will we get our first Pokemon in-game? Is my character expected to already have one Pokemon, or is she supposed to get it during IC roleplay?

Very good questions.
1) You can start anywhere that has a Lab. I'm going to add a lab to a few more of my locations that currently have vacant buildings. It does not matter where you start, but wherever you start will influence whatever Pokemon you may find in the area. Afterwards, you can travel anywhere you like. This is an open world RP.

2) Your character must visit a Lab to get started as I mentioned. There you are given your Pokedex and an EMPTY Pokeball. Go out IC and catch your first Pokemon. Technically wild Tier 4 Pokemon are caught at level 1. But you will also gain a 3 level boost for first post of the month. Essentially, this means that immediately after you start, your new Pokemon will hit level 4.

Remember to keep track of your own TP and items via a hider at the bottom of each IC post. I'll watch you closely while you are still a Beginner trainer to make sure that you are doing things correctly. Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy.

Glad to have your interest! Welcome!

Reminds me, is the requirements to move up the Trainer Ranks the same?

From Beginner to Skilled stayed the same I believe. The other rank up requirements got easier maybe. You can find this information in the Character information hider located in the Character Tab.

Here it is for a quick reference though.

  • Beginner: Any trainer with a Pokedex is considered a beginner. A beginner may only buy/use items designated for Beginner trainers. Only Tier 4 Pokemon will obey your trainer. Technically, you can evolve a Pokemon whenever they reach the appropriate level, but if you're still a beginner, you cannot use the evolved form in battle.

  • Skilled: To obtain this rank, your character must catch six Pokemon, battle with one other user controlled trainer, and travel to one other location other than that character's starting location. At this rank, your character can use 'skilled' items and tier 3 Pokemon will obey. Now you can evolve that Weedle. There are other hidden benefits as well.

  • Expert: To obtain this rank, your character must have caught 30 Pokemon and have 10 tier 3 Pokemon. At this rank, your character has access to 'expert' items, obedience from tier 2 Pokemon, and more hidden features.

  • Master: To obtain this rank, your character must have caught 100 Pokemon and have at least 20 tier 2 Pokemon. At this rank, your character can use all items, control all Pokemon, and uncover all the secrets of this world.

That bit about joining an Organization is a bit unfair in the Expert rank. What if that character wants to become Expert, but has no interest in joining an Organization?

Okay. I removed that clause at your request. Still though, from a strategic standpoint, being a part of an organization can be beneficial to anyone.

Depends on the organization. Makes me wonder if Pokecorp absorbed the Pokemon Rangers too, since they're a thing.

Honestly, I'd rather leave Pokemon Rangers out of this RP, at least until we all get a hold of the things as they are. If we need to spice things up later, I'm sure it can be worked in.

@Zanavy Is it ok if Kelci and my character Cici (who's headed to Stellanova) meet? Kelci might remind her of an old friend...

Sure. :) It might take a little while for us to be able to RP, though. Kelci should at least get a Pokeball first, if not a Pokemon.

Was more of a one off thought really. Also...so no one can start in the wilderness areas JUST because they lack labs?

@Balthazar007 Yeah, is having been given a Pokeball and Pokedex still an option?

@Zarkun Writing up my post, but I've just got to know the reason you've decided on for having Tommy leave. You still going with he decided it would be best for people to focus on their different goals? Also, how long did it take for Amica to recover, and do the three trainers have their eggs yet?

Also, I'm considering having Cici become Stellanova's gym leader, but just wanted to make sure that's ok with you in case you had your eye on that for Tommy later on, if he ever travels there. If you want that to be the gym he claims (I remember you saying you wanted him to become a gym leader), I'm alright with it.

Well, the goals thing and, though he wouldn't share this, he feels responsible for everyone getting roughed up still and doesn't want to risk it again. Also, feel free to have her take Stellanova. Fine with me.

Hmm, I don't want people to have to re-write their biographies, just because of this change. I'd LIKE all new trainers to go to Labs to get started, BUT it can also be implied that whomever gifts these things to trainers got them from a Lab.

I'm going to say, yes, being given a Pokedex/Pokeball from someone is fine, but if your character came from a location that doesn't normally have a Lab, maybe they can reference which Lab it came from within some IC post? Idk, honestly, it's not super important. I'd rather not worry about it too much.

@LuckyBlackCat Would like to say, as I forgot to earlier, that she can still contact Tommy, as he provided the means to do so when they split ways.
