I kinda like the thought of having them in the real world too though. Obviously we couldn't summon Persona's or anything, and the object might even change form during the dream hour depending on what people choose. But I think it would be cool if when they return to the real world, they each still have some form of whatever it is. Kinda proves that it all really happened, and gives them something physical to look at and contemplate when we eventually get out of the dream hour.

This. We should keep them.

I like the idea of the awakening creating objects (way to go @Raddum!)

This is fine to me. I was just trying to say theyd have no use in the real world outside of being a kind of momento.

Mmmkay ^_^

So, should the objects all be different in the real world too? Or would they all turn into something similar? Like each person has a bracelet with their dream object on it or something?

Doubt it, we've just been discussing awakenings.

Oh oh! And when we want to enter the dream world the characters can turn a key in the air or they can slot into any door turning it into a portal.

I'm pretty sure we're kind of stuck inside the Dream Hour every day now. Don't think we can go into the dream world when we please. Or leave, as much as we wish that was possible, until the hour is up.

I believe Raddum is right on that one. I genuinely do like the idea of the dream objects turning into keychains or something of the sort in the real world though.

My post is currently being revised by the GM. In the meantime, I'll be reading your little yet extremely relevant discussions.

@Raddum I won't post today either. I might be able to post around noon-ish tomorrow, but I might be a bit later. See you all tomorrow regardless.

@Fury Panda I like the set-up to this whole encounter, it's cool, but there's something irking me if I may be honest.

The post you gave feels a little too stilted and rigid. There's a lot of 'This character did this, this happened without contest' without really giving us a chance to properly react.

The whole situation with Eden getting grabbed would be neat, but saying 'The spodder was 2 fast 4 u' feels a little... cheap? Like, there's about 3 people around Eden with one of those being literally right next to her. Couldn't Jeff have hit or grabbed the claw as it grabbed on to Eden, or stabbed into it with something? It seems more realistic than assuming he froze in place and just forgot, as everyone would be cautious and wary of the thing by this point.

Also, the placement is a tad odd. How did Sam manage to open the door with Itaki, Jeff and Eden blocking the way? Wouldn't it make more sense for Itaki to grab the improvised wedge from Sam and do it himself, considering he was the closest to the door?

And the way you wrote the situation, I feel there's too little for us to do. What are Dakota and Lock going to achieve, for example? They're both the furthest away from everyone and Dakota is wounded. They can't get to the spider or interact with Eden in any way and are relegated to just kind of stand there and gawk. I had thought Lock could taunt the creature and draw its attention to him, but without being able to change anything about Eden being caught... eeeeeh...

I dunno, it just worries me is all. Don't feel like me and some others can do much in this situation.

...Posted.

@Ammokkx In Jeff's POV, Dakota has minimal participation, and that's only because she was wounded and Jeff happened to carry some painkillers. Locke doesn't appear in any part of my post, though. Maybe I could treat you to a collaboration later on, or something?

EDIT: Based on this last post, I just so happened to explain the character placing: Jeff went to fetch his painkillers, and Eden casually exits stage right. There's plenty of room of Sam to do his thing.

@Ammokkx Hey thanks for the feedback, I'll explain my reasoning as well as possible, but try to create a more joyous situation for everyone going forward.

Regarding the door and Sam, I didn't want opening the door to last through another post order. I think it had run it's course, and seemed easiest to roll a success/fail for the person who was going for the tool. This is kind of like a tutorial level or something, and I don't want to focus too much on small problems so that everyone can get their persona's and survive fairly quickly.

The spider situation with eden was also based on RNG. My thought was that because she had rolled to be targeted, and to awaken first. It would be in a situation where the others weren't around to help get across the feeling of hopelessness and activate her persona. Everyone is supposed to be feeling like there's little they can do, so that when they awaken they have a moment of "no screw that, I dont care if its impossible, I'm going to beat this."

It sounds like to some extent this has targeted you OOC more than your characters IC. I'm sorry if I've made you feel you don't have enough effect yet, I'm going to try to be more aware of that with my next world post.

Like I've mentioned before, when you create your post feel free to play within the world post. I shouldn't have written "theres no time to react". Everyone can react. So for example I'm totally cool with "Lock stabbed the scissors into the beasts claw, but with little effect, as it appeared to shake off the pain and continue pulling the girl." or whatever. As long as it doesn't change the outcome right now.

@Fury Panda I actually know it was based on RNG, but what I was saying is that it was a bit too... 'absolute' for my liking. Nobody could have pushed Eden out of the way and gotten grabbed, or taunt the monster to go for them? Eden can't stab the thing in its eye with her knife to make it scream in pain and release her as a gut instinct?

I feel you could have also made the hopeless situation much less forced. End the post with the spider tearing open the roof, but not grab anyone. Have everyone get a chance to get an attack in, only for it not to be phased and slash everyone across the chest or something before grabbing the unlucky soul who was the closest. Have some other demons burst through the other door, leading to the party having to deal with two threats instead of one.

@Fury Panda

All I really have to say is that the IC posts being automated like this is really irking for me. Yeah, Sam opening the door now was quick, but now he teleported to the door and there's no mentioning of Itaki, who was standing right in front of it, and where he was pushed to. I guess it's safe to say he's standing at the side, but with Ammo's mentioning of Jeff and Eden also being in the way, giving Sam options and letting Doge decide on the action to take after successfully getting the item to pry the door with would have been better. Throw the bar, and stay with an injured Dakota, or run off towards the door to save his own skin.

I don't want to write one huge reaction post, I want to write posts that could make me possibly serve a purpose other than being a bystander. Sure, if I tried something once the spider reached for Eden, Itaki could be smacked away and it could be deemed a failure; But now I -know- its worthless because you made it clear that nothing can be changed, and therefor I feel no reason to write it whatsoever.

@Ammokkx So I know you're giving an example of what you'd have preferred, for there to more action for the group as a whole, even if it led to a similar conclusion, to be given more choice for this outcome, etc...

I guess when it comes down to it, I wanted someone to awaken sooner rather than later. I understand that having a small fight beforehand may have been more entertaining, but would have ultimately led to the same outcome because it's what I feel echoes the story I'm trying to tell at this moment.

There are more demons on this train that haven't shown yet, in retrospect I probably should have had them appear as well in my post. I had thought with the door open to the next room as well as losing another person and having a giant hole in the cieling, there would be plenty to write about over the next set of IC posts, but I can add another at anytime if you'd like a secondary threat.
