Olric kept pounding away at the shovel adding the copper into the shovel to make i5 good again. It didn't take long for him to finish adding the copper and made the shovel seem larger then before but that was to be expected. Olric didn't consider himself much of a singer since he only sang that one song during his forging. Once he finished pounding in the copper he went to his grinding wheel and started to sharpen the shovel, doing so got rid of the extra weight and made it able to pierce through the earth as it's intended to. Once he did that he blew off the excess dust before saying "one shovel, strong enough to crack stone and sharp enough to split heads. Have fun" he said with a laugh tossing it to her.

Nabi's mind, and her eyes, were wandering as Olric continued to hammer away at the shovel. All the various metal-forged items that she saw around the hut prompted her to ponder what exactly they would be used for. Even though deep down she supposed it probably wasn't true, she couldn't help but feel like every other goblin in the tribe had a more interesting job than her. Tending to pigs and chickens or planting crops out in the dirt was far from an exciting way to live. She couldn't understand how Gabi could do it every day without losing her mind. Their mother had worked every day of her life as a farmer too, when she wasn't busy caring for one of the eight litters she had before dying last year in an attack by a rival tribe. When Olric was finished with the shovel and handed it back to her, Nabi got to her feet and then laughed softly at his quip before she looked down at her feet. "Can't wait . . . I'm sure my sister will put me to work with it right away. Well, I guess I'll be going now then. Thanks." She then started towards the exit with the shovel held in both hands. Her pigtails bouncing with each of her steps.

Taurl walked over to Olric's hut. He was still carrying the rabbit head.

"Hello? Olric? I was heading over to make an offering at the temple and- oh. Hello, there, Nabi." Ty had seen Nabi and Gabi many times before, although never in an "intimate" way. He knew that they were still barely into their adulthood, and that it would take a male of some accomplishment to impress them. More than he had. Females who were slightly older tended to accept males of greater scope than the younger ones, partially because there was less competition for a female's hand as time went on, while the opposite was true of males. Provided that the male accomplish much in his life, of course. Mostly, these accomplishment were feats of strength, deeds in combat, successful raids, and hunting skills. Plus, younger females tended to be more easily impressed by a male due to his prowess alone.

He spoke to Nabi, even though Olric could hear him too. "As I was saying, I was just going to offer this trophy of the hunt to the gods, then organize some warriors for a raid." Perhaps he was shallow to think that leading a successful mission would impress her. It worked before, but not all females were that simple, even if they were young. "How's the farming going?"

Nabi was nearly out of the hut when suddenly another goblin entered, one that she recognized right away. Seeing him brought a smile to her lips. "Oh, hey, Ty," she said as she came to a stop. Her eyes were fixed on the rabbit head in his hand, waiting for him to explain where he had gotten it. She knew that he was a hunter, a job that seemed way more exciting than farming. When he explained where he got the rabbit head and what it was far, her eyes lit up, making her look like a youngling. She supposed she probably shouldn't look so easily impressed, but she couldn't help it. The mention of a raid was even more exciting. The thought of Ty and the other warriors going out to battle was thrilling. "Wow," she said. "That sounds really . . . exciting. And the farming is sooo boring. I honestly can't stand it. I wish I had something else to do."

Ty thought about it. Either she was hinting that she wanted to go along with the raid, or she was honestly unaware that it sounded like she was hinting at it. Risking a female on a raid was usually a bad idea. If she was killed or seriously injured, it would reflect poorly on him. But if she saw him do brave deeds on the raid...

"You want to come along, Nabi? We can get you a weapon if you like. Just, if you go on the raid, please don't do anything to risk yourself. Watch and learn, but keep out of sight. If you are spotted by the enemy, run if you can, but fight if you must."

He paused there for a moment.

"Er... you were hinting that you want to come along, right?"

Nabi could hardly believe her ears. "R-really? You mean I can actually come?" Of course she wanted to, but the thought of asking to come along had not even entered her mind since she was sure that the notion would be shot down immediately if she brought it up. "Yes, I want to come. Then she thought about her sister. "But, er, what about Gabi? She's expecting me to bring this shovel back. There's no way that she'll let me leave again once I return. She'll know for sure that I'm up to something."

Olric smiled at her about to say something before she left but ty had come over with a rabbit's head no doubt to plead with the gods for a successful hunt but this time it was a raid and it was clear that he got nabi attention. Olric wasn't a hunter or fighter all he could do was make weapons worthy of the fight. He waited till he finished hinting at bringing nabi along before he coughed to get their attention.

"Actually ty I was going to finish a sword I just recently made. I was planning to give it to some young warrior that wanted to fight in the ring. If you want I could finish it and give it to you for the right price. Nabi I also wanted to say I was going to offer you an apprenticeship with me as a blacksmith if you were interested." He said with a shrug since he could bring anyone on as a craftsman even if she was a woman. It was a much safer profession then hunting or raiding for a female.

"Gabi can't stop you if you want to go. Really, no one can really stop anyone around here unless they're a child and you're their mother, or if the chief or shaman says so. She's your sister, not your master." Ty explained. "That said, it helps to know how to fight, or at the very least be able to get out of the way if you are in danger. Are you good at hiding? Sneaking? Climbing?"

@Jangel13

Taurl then turned to Olric while Nabi thought about his question. "What price did you have in mind for that blade?" He didn't bring it up, but females very rarely made good smiths. Even most males didn't have the upper-body strength for it, and females had even less. That said, some smithing tasks required less strength than others.

"I'm good at all of those things," Nabi was quick to answer Ty's question, probably exaggerating a little, but she was small (even for a goblin) so sneaking around and hiding was easy for her to do. She was about to agree with him that she couldn't let Gabi try to control her, even if she was her sister, and just go with him if she wanted to when Olric came up behind them and spoke. She was shocked that he actually offered her a chance to be an apprentice blacksmith. That sounded almost as exciting as the raid. And it did have the added perk of not being nearly as dangerous. While an older female goblin would have picked up on the fact that the two males probably had some ulterior motives for wanting to spend extra time with her, Nabi was too young and naive. "I . . . I want to do both," she admitted, chewing her nails as she glanced back and forth between the two of them.

Olric smiled as ty asked what the price was for his blade and he said "simple, either now or in the future if you find rare ore you give it to me first and foremost. In exchange you get a blade worthy of the chief" he said with a grin. He honestly was an artist at heart, he wanted to push his limits more and more but to do that he needed rare ore better then his simple copper and steel. He had a dream of making a sword that would make even the gods envious!

When nabi mentioned wanting to do both he laughed a bit as he then said "then by all means try both out. Being a blacksmith is hard so if you show the aptitude for it then you wouldn't have to farm ever again" he said though in all honest he was doing this so he could gain an apprentice. He needed help in the forge whether or not he gets to mate with one of the twins wouldn't be the first thing on his mind.

"I... let's take it one at a time." Taurl considered his words carefully. "Nabi, if you want to come with me on the raid, you may. Nothing will stop you from returning to the forge, as long as you stay safe. And Olric, I have no idea where to get some rare ore, so you'll probably have to settle for some stuff I take back from the raid. If by some chance I get any of that ore, I'll be sure to give it to you." He had the feeling that they were competing for Nabi's attention, although they both knew that she wasn't going to be bound to any of them no matter what happened. In fact, no goblin was ever bound to a marriage or even an exclusive pair. They knew not to mate with their cousins due to their scent, even if it was subtle, such an attraction simply didn't happen. Not that anyone acknowledged family much beyond their mother, siblings, and maybe a grandmother. The whole tribe was a sort of extended family for them all.

He sighed a bit and nodded as he told him he would need to settle on some things he brings back from the raid a d he said "fine then if no ore then get me weapons, swords, shields, whatever I can melt down for material" he said making it a bit easier for him. Once they had the deal olric grabbed the sword he was previously working on from its hook and went to the sharpening stone to help hone the blade to a razor sharpness. Once he did that he would add the engraving so it's possessor would be clear. Obviously some of the sneaky males take things that don't belong to them in an attempt to woo a female. He always engraved the blade to safeguard against that exact situation.

Nabi nodded. "Okay, then I'll do both then." A smile spread across her lips. "I'll go with you on the raid right now, Ty," she turned to Olric, "and then I'll return tomorrow to get started as your apprentice. I don't want to deal with Gabi right now, though, so . . ." She leaned the shovel against the wall. "I'm sure my sister will come by later to pick this up when I don't bring it back. Can you give it to her then, Olric?"

Gabi heaved a sigh and dropped the bag of grain for the chickens down on the ground. Then she wiped sweat from her brow. She was hoping that her sister would be back by now, but it seemed that the inquisitive Nabi had gotten herself distracted once again. Gabi shook her head and planted her hands on her hips. She supposed she was going to have to go look for her. There was work to do, and she wasn't going to be able to get it done until she got that shovel back. Gabi then started to head for the blacksmith's.

"I'll see what I can get you. If it's not enough for the blade... maybe we can work something else out" Taurl replied.

@Pandalope

Ty turned back to Nabi. "After I offer this head to the gods, you and I should go over a few things for the raid. We're not departing for at least a couple of hours."

Olric nodded to nabi as she said her sister would come for the shovel and he said "don't worry when she comes over I'll see that she gets it. Ty if it isn't enough to be worth the blade then we will talk for now come back in an hour and it will be all finished for the raid" he said since he heard that he planned to go on the raid in a few hours. Olric in the meantime went to work on the blade. He was able to sharpen it completely till it was sharpened steel. It was truly worthy of a warriors weapon, once he finished the sharpening he went to work his chisel and pliers and started to place the engraving gently tapping the name of its owner on the blunt ends of the blade which in this case was the middle of the double bladed sword.

Nabi was so excited that she had a hard time remaining still. Her mind was abuzz with activity. What would the raid be like? Would she have a chance to actually fight? She knew that Ty would prefer that she stay out of harm's way, but that didn't mean that she couldn't at least think about it. "Alright," she said to him. "I'll go with you to the temple then. Is that alright?"

"It will take more than an hour to- how about this? I'll give you some stuff after the raid, and we'll see what we can do. The last thing I want to do is for this to be a bust and leave me unable to pay you. My spear will do for now. Thank you, Olric. Now, I really must get this to the temple. Musn't keep the gods waiting." He started down the path to the temple, walking with Nabi.

@Pandalope

Ty turned his attention towards Nabi. "You can come with me. Just be careful not to ask for anything without having something to offer. The gods need something before they can give you something in return. I'm going to ask for the raid to be a success. Now, do you have any experience in a fight?"

Nabi shook her head as she walked beside him. "No, not really. I've never been in a fight before . . . unless of course you count play-fighting with my brothers and sisters when I was still youngling."

With a slight waddle to her walk, Gabi entered the blacksmith's hut. Although it wasn't completely obvious yet to everyone that saw her, Gabi had recently discovered that she was pregnant with her first litter, and was just starting to round in the middle. She saw Olric working on a sword. "Hello, Olric," she greeted him. "I was wondering if you've seen my sister. She was supposed to have brought a shovel by for you to mend for us."

Ty nodded. "That's important to know, Nabi. You'll have to rely on stealth and agility. Before we go, you should make sure to do some stretches, and see what you can do to loosen up your muscles. Make sure that your feet and toes are as flexible as possible, as you'll need to use them for climbing a tree if there's danger nearby. We'll be attacking out of the woods, so there will be plenty of trees around."

"Okay, I can do that," Nabi said with a nod, listening intently to everything that he said to her. She wanted to make sure that she did a good job and not just end up being a burden on Ty and the other warriors in the raiding party. "Um, so how dangerous do you think this will be?" She wasn't having second thoughts, she was just genuinely curious about what she could expect on the raid since she had never done anything like it before in her young life.
