Guin Stark

"Not great, I'd imagine," Black Widow commented, thinking for a moment. Hawkeye then nodded at her and he took his bow, firing off an arrow with a line connected to it. The grappling arrow hit a nearby building and secured itself. "I got this," Barton said, grabbing Guin, and he went off a run, jumping off the building and she couldn't help but scream at the top of her lungs. They went straight through a window, the glass shattering. Black Widow then pulled out a grappling hook device of sorts as well and repeated the process, this time grabbing onto Lance. She figured that Cap would be able to find a way down safely.

"Now stay here - don't interfere, got it?" Black Widow said harshly.

"But we were only trying to help!" Guin protested. She had some cuts on her from the glass when they broke the window, but it wasn't anything too serious.

"Putting yourselves in danger, making our mission more complicated isn't helping," Hawkeye told them bluntly. "Guin, you have no powers. And Lance, you have no training. What do you think was going to happen out there - that you would save the day? No."

"What do you think would happen to your fathers if you had died?" Widow then asked.

Guin bit her lip. She was stubborn and defiant, but she looked up to Nat and Clint. Having them chew her out like this... she didn't like it, at all. Tapping her foot rapidly, she just nodded slightly, knowing better than to argue with them. They were right. It had been dumb and dangerous of them. "...We just wanted to help like you guys do..." Guin said softly.

"We're Avengers. You're just kids."

Lance Banner

Lance sadly was used to being yelled at a lot, usually from his father when he got into fights with him on occasion, though the occasion was becoming a lot more frequent recently, which was kind of sad really. This sort of fighting he was used to, getting chewed out about things, and hearing what they were saying, it was obvious that this was actually a major problem. Knowing things and actually paying attention or whatever were completely different things. "Look, don't chew us out right now, not like you guys are able to be much help against him and yet you're here, I mean really..." he commented with a bit of an eye roll. His hands were starting to glow with a slight light that usually only appeared when he got pissed off at his father about something.

Cap was able to easily get off the roof and back down to the ground, making his way over to where the group was. "You two should not have come here, at all, don't you realize just what could have happened? You could have been seriously hurt or even killed by being anywhere near here!"

This was a bit of a first, he didn't really know Captain America of all people to actually sit there and chew them out about the entire thing. However, there was one thing that he did notice, and it was definitely a bit of a problem. There was a giant piece of the rooftop heading straight for them, and he barely had time to think about how they couldn't outrun the falling thing before he raised both of his hands up and sent a blast of light slamming straight into it, causing it to completely be demolished, with a few pebbles sort of raining down on them but that was it. He just shrugged his shoulders, saying nothing about it as he lowered his hands and put them in his pockets.

Guin Stark

Hawkeye rolled his eyes slightly at Lance, not all too amused by his argument. There was a huge difference between them and these kids - they had experience, Guin and Lance did not. "Once you've been trained and fought an alien invasion, then sure kid, you can make that argument," Barton told him bluntly. Widow nodded slightly, her thoughts having echoed his own. The kids were liabilities here. They weren't ready to fight anyone - much less the Hulk and/or Madman. "Whatever Cap, kinda just heard that speech from Bird Man," Guin said, rolling her eyes at the Star Spangled Man with a Plan.

"Guinevere," Black Widow warned, not really like the tone - she didn't care for Lance's tone either and she could see the light coming off of his hands. It wasn't like he was trying to hide it at all. "...Nice shot," she then commented, as Lance used his powers to destroy the bit of roof that was coming their way. "Now let the adults handle this, got it?"

"Ugh, fine, whatever..." Guin mumbled. The convergence had ended and since the machine was destroyed, there would be no more absorption of cosmic radiation of any sort by Madman.

Lance Banner

Lance did not like the lectures from the others at all, and honestly part of him was just wondering when they'd shut up about it. He never cared much for being around the Avengers at all, and only really tolerated them. They could be just a tad bit on the annoying side in his opinion, but now was not the time to really be arguing, that much he did know. "Fine, whatever you say," he said in response, before he grabbed Guin and pulled her away from the others who were there. Once he made sure they were essentially out of earshot and away from them, he turned and looked at her.

"So, I'm getting a bit annoyed at being told what to do, so... How about we see about helping out in some way. I mean, we're already going to get a major lecture from our parents, might as well go all in since we're here right?" he said, giving her a bit of a grin.

Cap just watched as Lance pulled Guin away from them and turned to look at Black Widow and Hawkeye, "What are the odds they'll actually listen to us?"

Guin Stark

"I'd say slim at best," Black Widow told Cap bluntly. They were the children of two incredibly stubborn people and were also in the midst of their teenage rebellion phase. She honestly would've been surprised if they stayed out of this, but hopefully Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man almost had Madman handled up on top of that building. If they didn't, they'd have a bigger problem on their hand than delinquent kids. For now, Madman was contained. If he got away... she didn't want to think about the civilian casualties.

Meanwhile, Guin was a bit shocked at Lance. He was always going on and on about how they had to follow the rules - that acting out and going against orders was bad. "Am I dreaming or is Mr. Goody Two Shoes actually saying we should defy the Avengers and our parents?" Guin asked, raising an eyebrow. "Since that is something I would suggest - you on the other hand are supposed to talk me out of doing dumb and reckless things." Of course, there was one problem with his suggestion. Guin wasn't really certain how they could help at this point anyways. She had done what she could do - destroyed the device. What else could she accomplish against Madman?

Lance Banner

"...Figured that would be the case."

"...Well honestly discovering that listening to people only gets you so far in life and honestly really really sucks. Not to mention I don't really care to listen to the Avengers if they basically are patronizing us just because we're not actually adults," he said a bit bluntly. This was true, and honestly he didn't want to talk to any of the Avengers especially if they were essentially treating them like they were stupid, and that was the main reason he was kind of getting pissed off.

Thinking for a moment about what best to do, he held his hand up, his fingertip had a small ball of light, and he seemed to just bend in, and a moment later, he seemed to disappear. "...Did that work? I don't really know if it did... It's just a trick of the light thingy, and I was running out of ideas," his voice said softly, coming from where he had been just seconds before. Seemed like he'd found a way to turn himself invisible or something.

Guin Stark

"...Yup, you've gone full Harry Potter with the invisibility cloak," Guin told Lance. She reached out slightly to where she remembered Lance had been and she poked him. The entire sensation was incredibly trippy and it reminded her of a drug she had done once - it had given a similar effect, allowing her to think that she was touching something she couldn't see. Only this wasn't a drug - this was just the manifestation of one of Lance's mutant powers. She was still surprised that he wanted to openly defy the adults in this situation. She had always known that Lance didn't like the Avengers - she thought they were incredibly cool and wanted to be one when she grew up - but still... He never broke the rules.

"What's your plan then, sneak up behind Sterns and put a kick me sign on his back?" Guin asked him, a bit skeptical. She had one idea of something they could do but she was debating whether or not to tell it to Lance. She didn't care about breaking the rules herself, but Lance was sweet and quiet and innocent in her opinion. She wanted to more or less keep him out of harm's way. Besides, he had already broken his rule quota for the day when he helped her "borrow" one of her father's planes.

Lance Banner

"Honestly, I don't know, but we can't just sit around here doing nothing, we're here aren't we? Might as well try and this way they won't be able to see us to stop us," Lance said, shaking his head slightly, despite the fact that Guin couldn't see him. "If they can't see us or see where we are, they can't try and stop us. Not to mention, with the Avengers fighting Sterns, we could see if there might be a way to stop him... Since no offense to them, but honestly what are the odds they'll notice a lot about the guy as they are fighting him aside from how hard he punches?"

He grabbed onto her arm so he wouldn't lose where she was, and there was a slight glow of light around her that resulted in her becoming invisible as well. Sure, he knew that this was likely a bad idea, and honestly he didn't really care about that, he'd listened to what everyone told him to, and now he really wanted to not listen to people. Not to mention they were already in England, they might as well try to help out anyway. "Now, let's get going," his voice said, he was still holding onto her arm and started leading to a stairway that lead towards the roof.

Guin Stark

For once in her life, Guin was very skeptical about breaking the rules. Maybe it was because they were heading towards a gamma and cosmic radiation fueled monster - or that Lance had decided it was Opposite Day and time for him to become reckless. Unlike with Hammer and all, they hadn't really had a choice at the Stark Expo. "Lance I've got a really bad feeling about this," she whispered to him. She wasn't sure what they could do against Sterns that the Avengers couldn't. And what if they just ended up getting in the way? Maybe she had decided it was opposite day too. Normally she always broke the rules.

She followed after him, trying to think up a plan but nothing was coming to mind. It was probably a sign that she could be an Avenger one day - they always did their best work after the fact and here they were, in the heat of the moment, and she couldn't think of anything. The only solution really coming to mind was to just step back and let Thor and the Hulk beat Sterns to death.

Lance Banner

"Then you can stay behind if you want to... Honestly they are kind of annoying me, a lot, and act like we can't do anything... I've never been afraid of the Hulk, or anyone like the Hulk, so this sort of thing, well... I'm honestly fine going after them and trying to fight them... You can stay behind if you want to, but I'm going outside to see what is going on and try and help out... Your choice Guin," Lance said, before he walked away from her.

This wasn't really just about what Hawkeye, Black Widow and Captain America had said. This was also about what Sterns had essentially done, he was mad, and sure, Lance was pretty sure he had inherited anger problems, but this was something else. Recreating the Hulk in any form is a bad idea, and someone purposefully doing that was just messed up. There wasn't much he could even think to do, all he knew was that he wanted to get back up onto the roof and beat the crap out of Sterns himself.

Guin Stark

Guin hesitated as Lance went off. He was invisible, meaning she wasn't going to be able to follow him all too well. And sure, she approved of his entire ~we can save the world too!~ attitude, but right now... They had already done what they could. They had taken out the contraption that was giving Sterns his power. And while Lance had mutant abilities, Guin was just human. She was just going to be in the way if she went up there, rebellious cocky attitude or not. Maybe one day she would be that strong but for now... She was really just a teenager. "Good luck, Lando. I mean it," she called out to him, before she turned and ran away from the scene, trying to get to safety. Her brain was her most powerful tool and it was telling her to leave this to the heavy hitters.
