“Uh.. I-I guess.. I mean I’ve had lessons, but I- I don’t..” Cesidia sighs. “Yes, I’m decent with a bow. What do you need me to shoot?”

"Ok, so let me get this straight," Deo said with a stern expression. "The only reason these Goblins are ransacking your Kingdom is that you won't marry him?" He frowned and placed his right hand on the bridge of his nose. Inhaling deeply. "Am I the only one who sees how ridiculous that is?" He asked no one in particular. "I mean I'm all for defending the crown, but my duty is to the people of this land. Just like you princess." He drew his axe and held it out for her to take. "The way I see it, you have two options. Get out there and fight, lead your people. Be a ruler that the people will look up to, and gladly follow to their deaths..." Deo said. At this point, he wasn't sure he would still be Knight's Captain tomorrow, but he wasn't sure there would still be a kingdom either, so he was taking charge. "Or you can Marry the Goblin."

He smiles. "The goblin king."

Cesidia gasps and her eyes widen, then she narrows her eyes. “This was your plan the whole time, wasn’t it?” Determination hardens her features.

"One of them, yes."

Cesidia frowns, then she nods. “I’ll do it. What’s the plan?”

"I'll provide a distraction. You know, pyrotechnics and wailing kinda thing. Then you literally stab him in the back."

Cesidia raises an eyebrow. “With an arrow,” she clarifies.

The princess sighed.
"I was never trained to use anything beyond healing techniques, and maybe a bow. He would have me captured the moment he has me in his sights. I fought him once before, when he first arrived, a dozen men died because of that. I just want to put an end to this once and for all."
She teared up.

Cesidia sighs and nods. “When do we do this?”

"As soon as you can get a few clean shots at the goblin, and I get you out of the underworld."

Cesidia frowns. “Okay. I want to start.”

He nods, and opens his arms. "It's a long flight there."

Cesidia raises an eyebrow. “You want me to hug you?”

"I do need you to hold on. Do you find something wrong with that?" His face is devoid of any emotion.

Cesidia shakes her head. “No, just clarifying.” She approaches him and awkwardly hugs him.

His skin is warm, as if hundreds of smoldering embers lie just beneath the surface. He spreads his wings, and takes off, holding on to her as he begins flying though the blazing terrain.
