Hundreds of years ago there was a terrible war that left the world in ashes, the only memory is a myth about a star which fell to earth and consumed all life. The only vestiges of the old world are shrines located in hidden places, now guarded by wise and powerful elemental priests; and a looming Tower flying high in the sky like a bright comet circulating the globe in regal perpetuity.

The people came back, slowly, as well as the animals and vegetation. But something was different, the animals had changed into new forms, and some of the people had discovered the skill to manipulate the fabric of reality itself, making the world limited only by their dreams.

Draygon, an evil being, wishes to rule this world, and he has discovered that the Tower holds the power of the old ones. He seeks to find the means to communicate with the Tower, and using it's power usher an age where his power is unlimited.

*SkSHSSHHHhhhhh* The pod door opened with a loud hiss of pressurized air. A haze of smoke filled the container; as it cleared it revealed a young man, thin, with shaggy brown hair. He blinked to clear his eyes revealing irises that fluttered between blue, green, yellow, and red. As he looked around he discovered that he was inside of a dimly lit cave. To his left he could see the opening into light.

"Nesy," a girl's voice said insistently, "Nesy wake up, there's no time!" In front of Nesy's face there appeared the face of a beautiful girl, familiar but unknown. "Don't be afraid," she said, "I'm not really here, I'm a hologram, only you can see me, my name is Asra." She smiled warmly, her eyes kind and worried. "There's no time, you must go! Outside of the cave is a path. Follow the path to the town of Leaf. The people there don't know anything of machines, or of the place where you are from. There you must find a man called Zebu, he is an Elder and will help you. I'm running out of power, there's not much time, the people are suffering! You must help them Nesy! you were......" The girl disappeared and the world became dark and quiet once again.

Nesy sits up and can see across the room. There is a sign with strange writing on the opposite wall of the opening to the cave. Under the sign is what looks like candles, flowers, and food as if left for an offering.

Nesy's head ached as his heavy body rose up from the pod and his eyes were hit with the sight of the cave. "Woah..." He rose up from the pod and he started walking. The entire place was fantastic but frightened him to the core. The world seemed to shrink, his heart pulsated in his chest with a sickening lump in his throat. He wondered what this place was, this cave and all it contained. Those offerings made him think that he might've been dead but the hologram told him to meet someone named, "Zebu." Who was this Elder - so called Zebu? He did not know, if not then... He might as well find out.

While he walked towards the cave enterence, thoughts began to rush into his mind and those were about his family. Nesy was bummed that he will never see his friends, family and he had no other choice to live but unfortunently fate has brought him here, there's nothing he could do as if life was inevidable. The determination to live fueled his walk towards the end of the cave. He stood at the ridge of the enterence, so he inhaled the fresh air. Nothing but the breeze whirled past the tall trees while he kept his pace through the peaceful forest.

Now for the town of Leaf, what was it again? He thought it sounded elvish because he accosiated it with elves but the realisation of an alien world strook him. That pod, it must be! It couldn't be something else right? His legs dragged him through the path, littered with rocks parallel to eachother in unusual intervalls, yet it could lead him to Leaf town right? Norr did he know what the town actually looked like. "...Aliens? In that case the existance of life has been proven..." He mumbled, a rush of happiness sank deep within him, it felt very good to be in this new world but he didn't realise it was back in time unfortunently.

Nesy's eyes scanned through the alienlike vegetation, alienlike it was indeed! "Facinating... It makes me want to blow up in a sea of luck!" He thought. The sunlight breached through the cover of the trees, a feathery sky stretched up to the blue heavens. It was shoruded in clouds that looked similar to Earth. Pollution wasn't present whilist the air he inhaled seemed a lot more cleaner compared to his world, it was more natural. Land seemed mostly untouched. However, he saw a couple of wooden shacks between the woods and he hurried himself towards the town of Leaf.

He arrived at the town and people seemed to be living in worse standards then the modern days. Wait... Is he in the medieval world? "...Medieval times?" Perhaps Nesy did actually go back in time! Of course, a damn time capsule who couldn've known! He decided to collect his thoughts and called upon the folks... "Uh yeah! Hey guys, uhm. Can I meet your elder because apperently I do not know uhm... Where I am and stuff." He stuttered a little, feeling nervous that people may crowd up on him due to his clothes. Let's see what would happen, bet he would be mega-crowded anyway by the vilagers but he doesn't expect that doesn't he?

Nesy stumbled into the village of Leaf. There were only a few squat buildings, possibly houses but it was hard to tell, and the streets were hard packed dirt rutted from wagons and carts. People sauntered along their business with their eyes downcast and their expressions dour. Nesy noticed that the people's clothes were threadbare and dirty. However depressing the village looked, though, it didn't have a feeling of violence or meanness about it. The people seemed to regard one another respectfully, and when an old man's wagon tipped over a group of kids nearby stopped to help him pick up the mess.
Nesy approached the group of kids who helped te old man. They eyed him suspiciously as he walked up, "Uh yeah! Hey guys, uhm. Can I meet your elder because apperently I do not know uhm... Where I am and stuff," he said timidly, still dazed from his awakening.

"We don't get to speak to the Elders, um, sir," a small lad frowningly chirped, "but there's a group of people meeting near the town well, you should be able to find someone there. The well's in the center of town, just follow the road, sir."

Nesy politely thanked the boys and headed he direction they pointed. As he went he saw a group of people talking quietly about something that Nesy couldn't quite hear. As he walked up Nesy could see that they were standing in a circle around a large well, at least 4 meters across, that had a narrow stone stairway that circled down into the blackness. Nesy could catch bits and pieces of conversation around him, "...the kid who.. just disappeared... hasn't had water for a week... we'll have to move... kill the whole village... Zebu...." The last word caught Nesy's attention and his head swiveled to the voice who spoke the name.

He saw a tearful young woman talking insistently to an old man in a green robe:

Nesy walked in their direction and picked up bits of the conversation, "... you must take the sword and rescue my... a great beast has taken..." the words became clear as Nesy came closer, "..only you have the ability to wield that thing and my baby is down there! Save my little girl Please!!" She pleaded weepily just as Nesy walked up. The old man's eyes went wide for the briefest of a moment and then they returned to stoic.

"I cannot help you my dear," he said kindly, "but the Lords have sent us an archon who will help us. Behold! a Hero has arrived, though of what quality we do not yet know." The woman turned confused eyes on Nesy.

"Ss.ss..sir.." she said uncertainly, "would you help me? my little girl is down there, she is only 7, there's a great beast who has stolen her.." she stopped overwhelmed with sorrow.

"Of course he will, for what hero would turn away from those in need," said the old, wise man, "and it is only a hero who can wield the sword of winds." The old man produces a beautiful sword to a bewildered Nesy:

"Take the sword young man, and save the girl. When you return you may ask me three questions, and I will aid you on your quest."

Nesy stared at the female who offered him to save her child. "I mean... I would help but-" He had never held a sword before but he knew how to handle it. He looked back at the man who gave it. "Uh..." He didn't ask for this to happen so he just shrugged it off. Monsters? MONSTERS? Surely it was just a dream at this point right? "I mean sure..." He looked around the sword while tilting his head, giving a sign of approval. "That sword surely doesn't look bad..." He exclaimed. Nesy felt an unnervy feeling spread through his body, chills began to run down his spine while the determination of saving the person overweighed his fear.

He decended down the well as Nesy felt like the only one down here. Greater dangers would await him down there because this was a dunguon wasn't it? The light could no longer reach to this point and Nesy was suprised what he saw, InfraRed vision. "...Are you...S-serious?" He whispered to himself, bewildered by the sudden activation of it. "With this I can sure find any monsters lurking down there." Nesy continued down the staircase until he finally arrived at the bottom of the floor. Scanning the dunguon, it seemed to be a laborynth of some sorts, except for one thing, danger lurked at any corner at this point.

His thoughts were interupted by a bat that came for his face and he swung the sword downwards towards the disgusting creature, piercing it into two pieces. "WOAH!" A second after, a hoard of rats were heard, his infrared vision revealed white eyes, a dossin of them coming closer. "Nesy, use your instrincts. Concentrate on the sword, it's obviously magical right!?" He concentrated for a while as the rats snuck towards him, he focused even further and imagined a ball of light that surrounded him which concentrated towards the sword. The rats were coming closer, about 5 feet away from him. A flash of light began to appear which bolted out of the sword towards the hoard and it decimated every single one of them with a gust of deadly wind. He opened his eyes to see nothing but dead corpses. "Holy shit." He continued onwards while scraping the dead rats on the floor. "Yikes."

Then a goblin snuck around the corner which scared the hell out of him, the creature was armed with a sword with wretched sharp teeth. "Get away you disgusting asshole!" He swung the sword towards the goblin, coliding with the sword, it quivered while giving off sparks. The goblin recoiled because of this but came back with a charge. Nesy swung the sword to the side of the enemy and grappeled it's arm. "DIE!" He pushed it towards the wall and rammed the sword in it's back. A small earpiercing scream came out of the goblin but died soon after. Nesy ripped the sword out of it's back with some green sludge dripping to the cold stone floor.

Nesy turned around the corner, he tipper tapped his way through the laborynth like a rat that attempted to find cheese but had obstacles on the way, yeah that's how someone could imagine it. A giant tarrantuala began to crawl around an other corner and Nesy recoiled to the sight of it. "Jesus christ!" It rushed towards him while Nesy made a charge towards it and cut through it's eyes. The spider backed away while it shreiked to the pain.

It's frontal legs were in a fetal position. He did not hesitate to strike it down with his special blast. After he had concentrated, it shoot out a deadly gust of wind that made a serious cut into the spider. He screamed, "DIE YOU DISGUSTING CREATURE!" He charged towards the incapitated spider. He cut the spider into it's torso, a deep wound indeed and it ceased to live. "Uugh! Spiders huh?" He walked around the huge creature and continued deeper into the dunguon. "To victory." He thought... What would happen next? It seemed as if Nesy had killed his first pray but what else awaited him?

The young hero had bravely begun fighting his way through the dangers of the underground, leaving a trail of dead bugs and goblin guts along the way. "AAahahhh!!! Hellpp!!!" came a child's cry. Nesy heard the little girl and was able to use the sound to track through the Labyrinthine tunnels. Putrid smells accosted him as he trekked deeper and deeper into the wet sewers.

"..esy... Nesy.." Nesy's ears filled with electronic beeps and buzzes, "establi... onnection..." it was the girls voice from before, when he awoke in the cave, and she sounded as if she was standing next to him. "It's me, Asra, from before....*buzzwerp!*.. your internal processing unit has charged and we can talk n...." the voice was gone again.

Nesy's infrared view gave him a clear image of the path in front of him, he ignored the enigmatic voice and continued to follow the sound of the weeping girl. Suddenly, he felt an unnervy feeling spread through his body and chills begin to run down his spine, just like they had before when he talked to the old man at the top of the well. He had to stop for a moment to regain his balance.

"That's better." Asra's voice came in clearly. "The machinery is charging from your biomagnetic aura, we should be able to speak for a time." Nesy looked around, there was nobody there. "I am here to help you, but I must speak quickly because your neural implant will only last so long. I turned on the Infrared for you, and I will help you in other ways as well, but every time I project myself holographically to you or assist you in using one of your functions it uses our power. If I use all our power your brain will shut down, you will retain the functional capacity of a vegetable at best. Nod if you understand." Nesy nodded, a little wide eyed and befuddled.

"I am here, in this world, in this time, and you must find me. I am in a tower, floating in the sky. You don't remember but you and I, we were a part of the destruction of the world before this one, and now we must save what has grown from the wound we made. But it's going to be a long road, and it will not be easy...." Nesy could make out the light of what looked like a fire around the bend up ahead and he stopped. The lady up top said something about a monster, and he didn't think she was talking about the goblins or the spiders.

"Up ahead is a Bugbear, a loathsome creature that is half bear, half goblin:

"It will not be easy to kill, be careful Nesy, it plans to eat the girl." Asra paused to let that sink in, Nesy creeped forward to try and get a good look around the corner, the little girl was still sobbing loudly. "If you take the path to your left," Nesy turned and saw a branch of tunnel going off to his left, "you will find the dam that it built out of debris so that it could live down here. Be careful Nesy, you are that poor girl's only hope...."

The layer was cold, dark, and quiet. The torch light flickered on the shiny, marbled walls revealing statues of demonic creatures of all shapes and sizes. Draygon sat atop his thrown looking down at his lieutenants, one which was the one called Jabberwocky.

"The sleeper has awakened..." he rumbled, his crackling voice rolling through the halls like evil bubble wrap.
"You will find him... and bring him to me." He spoke slowly, amplifying the sense of power radiating from him.

The lieutenants disappeared in blurs and flashes, teleporting to different areas of the world, seeking the one who had awakened, the one spoken of in the prophecy.

Draygon looked up into the skylight to see the glimmering light of the tower flickering in the distance. He would reach the tower, and the sleeper would give him power.

Jabberwocky lands crawls across the ceiling, and drops down in front of the king. He gives a savage grin. He never said I have to bring them back alive. I love loopholes. He spreads his massive wings, and takes off, flying out of a hole in the ceiling. He flies higher and higher, and roars out a challenge to the world. "Fight me if you can, mortals!" He dives to the nearest building, and sets it on fire with his burning breath, enjoying the screams of the dying.

The Trials of the Jabberwocky

Bander and Jub sat atop the castle watching Jabber release carnage on the oblivious city below. "He's such a predictable sadist." Jub said matter-of-factly in her high, musical voice.

Bander spoke aggressively with a deep, gravely voice, "He never learned to control his monstrous form," he said to his squatting companion, "it shall be his undoing one day, but for now it makes him the best tracker." The two lieutenants were perched on the side of the large castle like a pair of gargoyles, surveying the burning building and noting the screams of the populace below. They watch Jabber land and scream something at the people before launching into a bloody and fiery mayhem.

Kensu ran to the city square followed by a small army of townsfolks carrying pales of water to put out the fire. "I'll distract the monster! You focus on the fire!" He yelled in command from atop his great horse.

"Face me you monster!!!" He turned and screamed at Jabberwocky. He lifted his great hammer to the sky and lightning shot from it's head and bolted towards the dragon beast. Without watching to see if the bolt landed he turned his horse and ran ran towards the trees at the edge of the town, hoping to lead Jabber away from the town.

He snarls, seeing his prey trying to escape. "Futile." He flies over the town, and spins in midair when he is struck by a bolt of lightning. "Who dears disturb my hunt?" A blast of white hot fire liquefies everything under him, the rock turning to molten slag. "Fool. All you've done is ticked me off. Now you and your town will burn!" He opens his jaws, and spews a tidal wave of fire at the holy warrior, the fireball melting the stone, the vegetation bursting into flame.

Bander watched as Jabber finished yelling and then suddenly found himself surrounded by empty quietness, the only sound was the crackle of burning building and the clomp of his stomping feet. Jabber turned around looking for someone to unleash his fury upon, but the people were all gone. Jub Jub transformed into her harpy state and grabbed hold of Bander before flying down to meet with Jabber on the ground.

"Ya' don't live this close to the castle of Draygon without figuring out a way to survive." Bander's voice boomed as he his armored feet hit the ground. "They've all gone into the mountain over there, escaped in the caves running all over these lands."

"Sorry for your loss," came Jub's sanguine, saucy tone, "I do so know how much you love to buuuurn things."

He hisses at both of them, and fire kindles in the back of his throat. "You two again? What do you want Bandersnatch? And you, Jub Jub bird?" His jaws open, and his razor sharp teeth and claws gleam. "You two dare to interrupt my hunt."
