John shook his head as Serena held up a hand. “If you happen to have cocoa…it helps with energy recovery” bane smirked and said “keep telling yourself that, my guardian…” Serena shot him a dirty look and said “it goes well with cookies”

Sam smiled as Serena asked about hot chocolate and nodded, "girl, I always got hot coco in" she said to her, walking to the kitchen to make the hot drinks for everyone who wanted them and to dig out the cookies.

Kay turned her head to John and looked at him, to make sure he was alright, squeezing his shoulder with her hand. "you going to be alright?" she asked him.

John nodded weakly and said “ya I think so. Just won’t be sleeping for a while…” Bane sat down by Serena and said “now, it seems we have a rescue mission in play. Someone is after the vessel of Apollo. But not in enough know how to see that had the vessel of Nyx here…”

Kay nodded in understanding. "I can get that" she replied to him, resting her head against his shoulder as Bane went and sat next to Serena. She listened to what Bane said and now he mentioned it, it did seem rather strange. "makes you wonder if the vessel of Apollo is their main objective" she commented back.

Sam came out a couple of minutes later with the drinks and cookies on a tray. "drinks are here" Sam chimed, putting the tray down on the table so everyone could get what they wanted easily enough. She then sat next to Kay on her other side, so she was in the middle of John and Sam.

Bane grabbed the mug and handed it to her. Serena took a sip then she went pale when an idea hit her. “Guys…what if that vessel isn’t the only one they are after…”

As Bane handed Serena her mug of hot chocolate and Serena suddenly having an idea hit her, Kay leaned forward and grabbed her coffee and a cookie, dunking it in the coffee. As she bit into the cookie, she looked at Serena, "Who else would they be after?" she asked after swallowing her mouthful of cookie.

"well that's a good question, but I feel like you guys wouldn't like the answer. It has that whole doomed question feel about it" Sam spoke up, unable to remain silent completely as she gave Kay a look that said 'you cretin' for dunking the biscuit in the coffee. Dunking in drinks like tea and hot chocolate she could get behind, but not coffee.

John looked up and cursed softly. “Apollo is the god of the sun…and the moon is…” Serena nodded and said “Nyx. I think I know what they are trying to do. The monster I saw in my vision…thinking about it now it could be only one thing. One the three titans locked away by the Greek gods. And one for seals to open the cage is…”

Bane finished for her “having the sun and the moon opening one of the locks. They want to open one of the doors to the Titans cages…Serena, your a target” Serena nodded and closed her eyes. Her hands shook as she muttered “it’s why I got the vision. A warning. We got lucky they didn’t know who I was when the vines grabbed us…”

Kay listened with interest at what they were discussing and when it became more and more clear that it was Serena that was a target this time, Kay couldn't help but feel two things. Relief it wasn't her for a change, and guilt for feeling relief. Yet she was also concerned that Serena had a target on her back now they were in the Seattle.

"Then we need to be super careful and Serena you need to be more careful than the rest of us. Like you say, you got super lucky that whatever is after you didn't know who you were or Bane and I wouldn't have been able to save you" she replied as she sipped coffee. "Sam, can you keep hosting Serena here?" She asked looking at her sister, "Yeah of course I can" Sam said. Sam just hoped that she wouldn't be dragged into their whole mess any more than she already was.

Serena looked up and said “hold on now, I’m not just hiding out while you guys find these guys. This my fight too” BAne sighed and said “Serena…if we are the target, we can’t be in the front of the fight. Bigger picture”

Kay just had a feeling that Serena wouldn't like what she was suggesting, but she also knew what she was suggesting was the safest option. She didn't want to put Serena even more in danger than she already had been, so when Bane spoke up his agreement with her opinion she was actually really thankful and relieved.

"Serena I know you wanna be pro-active here and you would rather be in the action so to speak but sometimes you need to know when to fight and when to step back. This is a time to step back and let us handle it for once. You're safe here, out there you're not. So please for once, don't be stubborn" Kay told her firmly but softly.

Serena looked at her and said “no way. I’m not sitting this out. It’s not safe for anyone else. If they want me, then let them try. I won’t let anyone else take the risk if it’s my neck on the line. You two are more important then I am.”

She swayed a little on her feet as she moved to look for her bag. “I’ll hunt them down myself…” John sighed snd said “dang it…not stubborn Serena again…I don’t have anything in me to stop her”

Kay sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration when Serena refused to back down and continue to be stubborn. "bloody hell..." she huffed, echoing John's frustration at Serena's stubbornness.

"Bane please say there's a way you can stop Serena going on a possible suicide mission" she said to him. She really didn't want to be out there worrying about Serena's safety and life as well as worrying over John.

Bane smirked and said “yes but it’s…well, not very nice. But we can” suddenly they heard a thud and then a crash. In the hallway Serena had hit the coat tree and was on the floor, shaking violently and her eyes glowing green. John moved over and said “crap Serena what’s wrong?”

Then John felt it hit him next. A waved of numbness and his mind fighting not to be taken over by something. He swayed on his feet, his mind clouding as he fought the force trying to take over.

The beginning of Bane's reply didn't sound great but Kay truly felt like if Serena didn't give in to their pleas of her staying behind then they would have to take drastic measures to keep her back. It was when the loud crash happened that caused all their heads to turn toward where it was coming from and Sam and Kay rushed to the hallway to see Serena down and out but shaking.

They were about to tend to her when whatever it was suddenly affected John as well, but not as drastically. "John?" Kay asked, instantly holding him to try and keep him upright. "What's going on?" she asked, feeling like she needed to know so she could try and help. Sam knelt down to Serena and saw her eyes glowing green, "uhh...guys her eyes are glowing green!" Sam said slightly panicked.

Bane was leaning on the wall, his eyes glowing as he muttered “something…trying to take them over…I feel it in her mind…” John held onto Kay, shaking badly. “Kay…it knew who we were…this was their plan…take us over…it’s trying to take control…” he lowered his head, his eyes pinpoint.

Bane growled and said “there has to be something we missed…a seed or something linking them to the enemy…”

Kay and Sam looked between the three of them, trying to understand what was going on. Kay kept a firm hold on John, not knowing how to stop his shaking, "please fight this...I don't know how to help you" she replied. "I don't understand why they're trying to take control of you as well as Serena" she added, clearly panicking at the idea of possibly losing John.

"Bane we need to try and find this thing" she said whilst Sam tried to do what she could to try and help Serena but having no clue how to actually be of use.

Bane growled again and muttered “check…neck areas…base of spine…there has to be something linking them…harder to fight off the magic…” he fell to his knees, starting to lose his human form.

John cursed and felt around his neck. “I felt…pain in my shoulder blades…before I blacked out…see if…if…” his eyes clouded over as he was starting to lose the fight. Serena was shaking and reaching for something on her back. She muttered “pain…lower back…cant…reach…”

Kay and Sam nodded as Bane explained what to do and John and Serena were starting to lose the fight against what was trying to control them. Kay instantly stepped behind John and lifted his button up shirt up so she could see his shoulder blades and low and behind saw some kind of seed attached to him with roots growing from it. "Shit, John I'm gonna have to burn it off, I'm sorry if it'll hurt but just transfer that pain to me through our bond okay? I can take it" she told him.

She waited for him to brace himself and when he did, she placed her palm flat against the seed and roots and let her fire spark and appear from her hand, focusing it solely on what was attached to his shoulder blades. She hated that she was possibly hurting him but it was the only way. The vines were scared of her earlier, so she figured this would be the same deal.

Sam checked Serena's lower back and the same was on her. "It's the same here!" she said to Kay, "Hold on Serena! I almost got it from John! Then I can help you!" Kay said back, knowing that if Fee separated from her she would be putting her own life in danger.

John nodded weakly, barely able to hear her as he moved to lean against the wall to brace himself. When the fire hit he yelled out and hit the wall, the pain sharp snd burning the roots from around his spin. He gasped as he felt the magic fading off but he got light headed and faint from it.

Serena gasped and muttered “hurry Kay…help John first…” Bane suddenly hit the ground, shaking and shifting into his wolf form as he was losing control from the pain he was feeling from Serena.

Kay gritted her teeth as she felt John transferring the pain onto her but she was aware he fainted as the roots and seed disappeared. "Sam look after him! He's fainted from the burning, i can heal him once I've got to Serena!" she said to her sister, Sam nodding and hurrying over to John when it was done, holding him up so he didn't fall to the ground.

Seeing Bane shifting into his wolf form put Sam on edge and was worried about this all happening in her house, feeling glad that her girlfriend was at work and wouldn't walk in on this whole thing happening. Kay rushed to Serena and looked at where it was on her lower back, "oKay, brace, this is gonna hurt" she warned and did the same thing onto Serena's back as she did on John's shoulder blades. "i'm sorry Serena" she apologised as she burned through the roots and seed.
