@SleepingSilence Well the fact it can be 100+ hrs is appealing so I probably will, alongside Death's Gambit. 45$...Might have enough to get a third game.

I really want Metroid Dread on sale. Since I'm almost certain that I'd like it. But when I can easily get three to five games for the same price on Steam. It's quite a tough sell to purchase one $60 game. Or god forbid $70 on other modern consoles. (Especially for games that aren't Skyrim-long in terms of 'bang for your buck' content.)

Hollow Knight does have a lot of extra goodies in it. (Ala the end game boss runs, that will surely take some time to complete.) But I'd say its easily the best game for atmosphere, soundtrack & a fair challenge.(That I've played in a while, anyway.) It's my Ori and The Blind Forest. For everyone who claimed that game was the best thing since sliced bread.

If you want recommendations for the future. I've gotten (and ignored) several games because of this youtuber who does no damage boss runs of a bunch of games. youtube.com/c/Gellot/videos (If you don't mind the spoilers, I guess.)

And now I will attempt to do so, too.

Since you mentioned Salt & Sanctuary. I find it interesting that the game and its sequel seem to be divisive. In that, reviewers who didn't care for the first game, like Zero Punctuation. Praise the second one for its improvements. (But another youtuber who said the first was his favorite game in the genre. Explained why the 2nd isn't even a good game by comparison.) And that mindset seems present on the internet in general.

Similarly to a game I've been on-and-off interested in playing, Axiom Verge (and not its sequel). Where if you like one, you'll likely be disappointed in the other. In how Axiom Verge 2 doesn't even sound like a very good game in concept. But the first one seems like it might actually be worth playing. (To me.) If I wasn't blinded by how hard it is to look at.

@Dark Cloud Would depend on your definition, I suppose. :P

It certainly seems like a visual eyesore in the beginning. But it does open up and change its look in places. But there's just other games in the genre that I'd rather play/have better online receptions. Including ones I got for the steam sale.

I guess, well anyhow by...Sunday? Or Wednesday I'll purchase those games, I have mild interest in Rat Tails (made the the same studio that made Salt & Sanctuary) because Doug Cordle narrates it and he is the voice of Geralt from the Witcher 3 (which by the way is also on sale).

Apparently a lot of games are 50% off until July 6th on the Nintendo Eshop.

Question: What's some of the more annoying things in all of video games?

Enemies who inflict poison? Most certainly.

Enemies who are artificially hard to hit? Frustrating, at least.

Enemies who can't be hit/enemies that can't be blocked/parried? Why?

Fog of War/Veil of Darkness? Almost always a cheap way to increase difficulty.

Fetch Quests? No one likes those.

Quests that make you go back to previously completed areas again/several times over? Padding for sure.

Pointless new mechanics for one space (that you probably won't use after)? Check.

Bosses who become invincible for a brief period. So all you can do is waste time dodging? (Because the devs couldn't be assed to make a good boss fight?) Yep. Sounds awful to me. (All you'd need is a "now they spawn minions, and you have to defeat those in order to proceed" for extra laziness points.)

The "go through a maze of doors" puzzle, that forces you to trial and error your way through it? Persistent world damage? (Aka just being in the space damages you slowly.) Annoying sound effects that you'll be hearing over and over again? Or how about some old fashion "you don't get your reward, because it fell through the floor" glitches?

Well all that and more, can be found in Underhero's "World Two". In the biggest dip in quality from dungeon to dungeon that I've ever seen in a video game.

The first world even goes out of its way to subvert and make fun of pointless time-wasting fetch quests. And yet its the first damn thing they expect you to do in the 2nd.

Okay, I want imput. Should I buy Empire of Sin, Dark Souls or Salt & Sanctuary? Empire of Sin is a game I've been meaning to play with an 8.2GB file and Salt & Sanctuary is a nice title but I've played Dark Souls before

There's a lot of RPG cliches on the list for sure. But I gave the game too much credit for being smarter than that. (In fairness, its a small team.) But it certainly comes across as putting everything together to pad out the run time. There's even a totally pointless, yet far too long rhythm mini-game, that might as well be a "supposed to lose fight". & another boss with three phases that is lampshaded as "Golly gee. Another form? This is certainly taking forever." Which at that point, seemed like contempt for the player, versus satire.

I hope world three is better.

So pick between Empire Of Sin, Dark Souls, and Salt&Sanctuary?

My only played game is Dark Souls, and it certainly opens fairly well. (Though I have no idea how it'll run on the Switch.) And honestly, the bosses of S&S look pretty dull to fight. So play Blasphemous instead. But it might run smoother/play better on the Switch, versus console Dark Souls. (Which does have locked 30 FPS, worse Sound compared to other versions. Non-remappable buttons. Etc. According to search results.) And metacritic is not kind to Empire Of Sin...but there's also not enough reviews to be conclusive.

So go with your gut, and cross your fingers. :P

HoloCure is way too good for what is a free fan game in the vein of Vampire Survivors.

But unlike Vampire Survivors the characters in HoloCure are unique and the game moves at such a fast pace that I don't even realize I'm spending like 25 minutes a run now.

Say what you will about the vtuber fans out there, when they decide to do something they can really do something.

Underhero certainly ends well. But it leaves me feeling conflicted, because I spent more time being annoyed at the game. Versus feeling engaged. (Though nothing was as bad as World Two.) But I'd say its above average overall.

Tomorrow will be another game that I'm hopeful for.

@SleepingSilence I'm on the fence about weather I should save the $18 I have left. On one hand I can afford Hades but I could buy Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Or I can save it to renew my Nintendo Online subscription. hmm

@Dark Cloud Hades (and Dead Cells) would be worth the price/a whole lot of content. Regardless of my feelings of either. But an online friend of mine swears by Monster Hunter Generations. (Just don't get Rise.)

And I refuse to play fifty dollars to play a worse version of Zelda than what was on the 64.

So it depends on how much online gaming you do.
