C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"Running. That's pretty much the only thing I'm good at. Running from responsibility. Running from friends. I'm tired of running."

In this iteration of Cindy Moon, she is bit by the same radioactive spider that had gotten Peter though she is younger when bitten. However unlike the canon, she opts to suppress and hideaway her powers as I thought being at a young age, it would be natural for a girl to be scared for being different like that. She would have her mishaps (leading to later conflicts as someone might expose her secret identity remembering a girl who could shoot webs), but overall she was lucky enough to avoid anything critical including catching the eye of someone to take her away. She tries and somewhat succeeds at living a normal teenage life in New York City.

Much like the canon interpretation of Cindy's personality, she'll struggle socially with a hefty dose of anxiety. She never get too close with someone, fearing that they might discover her abilities accidentally. She'd restrict her activities from that point as well, fearing that some of her more innate powers might give her an advantage. She would do everything possible to suppress her abilities and as a result, never be quite trained in them.

As time passed, Peter would be making a name for himself as Spider-Man. His feats of heroism and bravery would be enough to get a little fangirl out of Cindy. After all, he was probably the only one just like her. She constantly flirted with the idea of webslinging her way to find him but the fear of rejection and exposure would be enough to keep her at bay. Remember too, she is several years younger than Peter so all those villains he has squared off with would terrify her.

With Spider-Man presently dealing with the unified front against him in the Sinister Six, he would appear to stand alone to the average New Yorker. News would begin to ask and speculate "The End of Spider-Man?" prompting Cindy to start to fear for Peter's life. As the classic Spider-Man saying goes: "With great power comes great responsibility", she'd finally believe it was up to her to save Spider-Man.

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):

Cindy has just gotten her first taste as a superhero and has come away with the wrong conclusion that she isn't worthy. Her story is only just beginning, though. By pairing up with the media darling Superboy in public, speculation about Silk, another NYC Spider hero will spread. How far can she go before her parents try to crack down? What pressures will she face to keep her in the game? Keep her out? All to be determined...

The Mask Lifted

The most important next step to Cindy's story is her realizing that superheroes are just people making sacrifices like what she could be doing. Like she is willing to do. It'll come more as a surprise to her when she discovers the super villain in this arc, Dragonclaw, isn't evil personified like she was always lead to believe...
Spider-Man, Dragonclaw, other NYC heroes

The First of Nine Lives

Silk branches out on her own and tries to do what Peter never could: Take Black Cat down. For far too long, Spider-Man has let Black Cat go due to some mutual understanding, but that created a shadow over NYC where Felicia's activities have gone unchecked, and she might just be ambitious enough to expand. In the first act of nine, however, Cindy can't help but feel like she is being strung along...
Black Cat, Spider-Man, Spider-Verse villains

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Late 2009: Cindy Moon, age 5, should have been home sick but with her mother having to lead a field trip to Oscorp, takes Cindy along. She is bitten by the same mutated spider that had bitten Peter Parker. Cindy develops her powers but far too young to understand the implications along with her parents, try and cover it up.

2010: A man with spider powers makes the news amid the chaos of the alien invasion due to his role of protecting civilians. The Moons consider the potential relation.

2011: Spider-Man becomes a household name in New York City, the Moon consider pressing charges on account of Cindy but ultimately decide against it to avoid drawing attention to Cindy. The family doubles down on protection, she is strictly prohibited from extracurricular activities.

2012: Through diligence, the Moons have conditioned her daughter to suppress and hide her powers. Cindy is allowed to rejoin grade school at the age of 8. She is terrified of her abilities and becomes a social recluse, afraid of accidentally revealing her abilities.

2018: Cindy makes it to high school without incident. Her enhanced physiology and web abilities are at a level of being unconsciously suppressed effectively de-powering her. The only trace left of her spider bite is her Spider-Sense having been always keenly aware of things around her, that sense grew in strength as her only expression of power throughout the years. She is now at the level of being able to identify people around her by this sense alone. She still thinks about Spider-Man and if they might have some relation somehow.

2020: Daily Bugle runs its hit piece, Spider-Man's Blunder!, outlining the Sinister Six and Spider-Man's failure at keeping them locked up. News throughout the year begins to offer grim takes on Spider-Man's chances. With each new article, Cindy pushes harder to try and awaken her sleeping powers, fearing that she has to do something to help.

A little over a year ago, Jessica went on a hunting trip with her best friends. Unbeknownst to her, it would change the course of her life forever. After hearing strange sounds in the dark, the group stumbled upon several mafia members burying bodies. The mafia members caught them and they were taken to be executed. As the mafia members took out her friends, Jessica managed to escape. She returned home and gave the police the best information she could, but due to the trauma her already existing anxiety crippled her life. The young adult locked herself away in her room, terrified that the men would come back to finish the job.

Three months ago, Green Lantern Ring #7 chose Jessica to join the Green Lantern Corps, much to her protest. Due to problems within the Corps, she received virtually no training before being assigned to protect Sector 2814. Now she's trying to find her place as a superhero while managing her PTSD and anxiety.

Her personality is going to be very similar to the canon. The biggest difference is her lack of having a partner assigned to her- which would be Simon Baz in the comics. This doesn't mean the other Lanterns can't exist, it just means they're most likely not on earth. But that can always be written around so that more Lanterns can be assigned to 2814, especially considering Jessica doesn't have official Lantern training yet. Really no characters should be blocked off.

Jessica Cruz holds a very special place in my heart for a couple reasons. Initially, I discovered her a little after my birthday in 2019. A friend sent me fanart of Wonder Woman, which included Artemis, Cassie Sandsmark, Donna Troy, and a mysterious Green Lantern I had never seen. So I did my research and stumbled upon Jessica Cruz! I was so stunned to see a Latina character, I had to know more! I immediately delved into Rebirth's Green Lanterns and fell in love with her. I was amazed that a character with mental health issues was talking about it openly and actively working on herself to become not only a better hero, but a better person. This was also around the time I started facing my own challenges with mental health, so I became very attached. Throughout my life, I always stuck to Wonder Woman because- well, she's Wonder Woman. But seeing a superhero that was so... human. So relatable. I fell in love with her.

I've had the opportunity to write as Wonder Woman and some of her supporting cast for about two years with a group of friends on Discord, but I've never really gotten the chance to write for Jessica Cruz. I really want to do her justice. Since she's in her beginning stages, she's going to be a roaming character. As she comes into her place as a fully-fledged Green Lantern, she'll move into the driving character position. There's a also potential to be part of GL Danver's plots, especially as a supporting character for the beginning. This character has loads of potential that I'm excited to tap into!

Bruce Wayne was born to two loving parents on a cold night in September, 1988. Bruce Wayne died beside his parents on a cold night in November, 1996. He was eight. He was never mourned.

The child is dead; what remains is a paracausal being of zealotry, rage, and willpower. This unnatural creature spends twelve years inhabiting the body of Bruce Wayne, seizing every new day as a fresh opportunity to push itself towards some as-yet-unknown goal. Alfred, the guardian, secretly fears this changeling child, in his worst moments pining for the bubbling, gleeful boy that left the manor with his parents that fateful November night, and never returned. At twenty-one years old, the skin-walker leaves Gotham, and Alfred allows some dark corner of himself to believe that the City has been spared an unknowable evil.

On the sixteenth anniversary of his parent’s brutal, senseless murder, the prodigal Wayne son returns to his city, anger tamed and zealotry focused, and he brings with him a singular purpose: to rid his home of the corruption that threatens to swallow it whole. He dons a mantle of fear, and begins a war.

Another sixteen years hence and Bruce is mid-40's, and while his war has never stopped, the landscape of it has shifted; gone are the old days of bribery, politics, and corrupt infrastructure. Instead, modern Gotham is plagued by megalomania, psychopathy, sadism, and terrorism: the nature of the world has changed, and with it, the nature of evil. Over the course of his long career, Bruce has been well-supported by an ever-growing network of allies - but now he finds himself relying on them more than ever, as his own body begins to fail him.

As the face of Gotham shifts once more, there is nagging doubt that Bruce refuses to acknowledge; the disquieting thought that maybe, he is not enough for the fight anymore. As the era of a new war erupts - perhaps it is time for a new soldier.

With this Batman, I'm looking to carry on the spirit of the Bruce MB was playing; an older Batman, slowing down, perhaps even struggling to keep up with the ever-flowing tide of criminals into his city. Things are slipping out of his grasp, and a new crisis rocks the city - one that Bruce isn't even sure he's capable of handling anymore. Bruce won't admit it - can't admit it - but the time for Batman has passed. A new breed of protector is necessary for the continued safeguarding of Gotham; but does such a hero even exist? Would the most suitable protector even be a hero?

Evil is evolving. Good needs to adapt alongside it.

Ten years ago, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm set out together to test the world's first superluminal-capable spacecraft. Their vessel passed through cosmological event, exposing them to an impossibly high dosage of unknown radiation that fundamentally restructured the crews' genetic makeup. Upon returning to earth, the four of them pledged to utilize their new abilities for the betterment of mankind, christening themselves as the Fantastic Four.

They've spent the last decade protecting humanity from all sorts of fantastical threats: the Mole Man, the Wizard, Ronan the Accuser and the Super-Skrull, Annihilus, Victor Von Doom, the Council of Reeds, Mongul, as well as a host of others. The four of them have explored a vast multitude of planets, dimensions and universes. They have discovered unimaginable truths about the nature of existence, and they have stood before cosmic entities of existential significance. Through it all they've only grown closer as a team- and a family.

Put simply, I have an itch for high-concept science fiction shenanigans that only the Fantastic Four can fill. I've been reading Johnathan Hickman's run and I'm brimming with inspiration. Its always sort of surprising how one of the oldest and most established superhero teams gets little attention in these One Universe Games, but Morden Man's foray in UOU is something I've gone back to several times while stewing on this sheet. Its just plain good.

As for the character themselves, I decided to take advantage of our longer timeline to include the team's rich history. They're all veteran heroes at this point, ready for just about anything that you could throw at them- or so they believe. I'll be putting a great deal of my focus toward the family dynamic of the Fantastic Four, especially in regards to each member's relationship with Valeria and Franklin, the Richards' kids. Something Hickman emphasizes in his run is the importance of family, and whether or not we're willing to put it before everything else- and in that run's case, before the world. That's something I'd like to touch on as well.
