The world is a fragile place....for hundreds of thousands of years humanity as struggled through the ages to keep peace, and prosperity always falling back on war. Mages, heroes, and normal humans have struggled to reach out to grasp at fame, fortune, and prosperity. Fear of failure, of defeat, of destruction is always a constant thing. Something to be reminded of every time some single individual reaches out to grasp is the fact that things could go horribly wrong at any given moment. A single alteration, a single failure, a single deviation from the norm...it sends the world into a chaotic spiral, and a distortion is made upon an unsuspecting world. Mages are one of the more common reasons things go wrong.

Be it the Dead Apostles, or an overtly ambitious fellow with too much to gain, and not enough to lose the world tends to fall apart at the touch of fate's hand. Hatred, jealousy, justice, despair, honor, friendship, and other self destructive tendencies have been the cause of mages, and humans alike to fall, and break what should be set in stone. Guidelines, and history itself changing to suit the needs of the many, and the hopeless. Be it for good intentions, or for ill the time line of the world is easily disrupted...perhaps a young man wished for peace...perhaps they rescued a friend...or maybe they just wanted a bit more power...and everything went wrong.

This is Chaldea, The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, Finis Chaldea is it's full name and we have been active for many years now in the Alps. For a time Chaldea held together the world as it stood for centuries. Perhaps correcting a small lapse in time here, or perhaps making sure the evil mages of the world were kept in check in present time. Regardless it seems that the world itself is rebelling against them at times. More frequently enemy magi have been showing up to check, and destroy Chaldea agents and bring doom upon the world. Many have been defeated. The enemy's true name is known. However distortions, and changes in time are becoming more frequent forcing the top team of Chaldea to summon servants in an attempt to stop it. This worked for a time...however the recent anomaly has caused an issue...a rift...the first team is lost...dead more than likely. An attempt to stop the destruction of the world is now in the hands of the second team now allowed to summon their servants they prepare for the worst yet to come.

Rules:
1. All Standard Roleplay Rules Apply. Power Playing, God Modding, and other assorted non-sense is not allowed.
2. No over powered servants. Demi-Gods, and servants such as Gilgamesh, Beserker Hercules, and folks of that nature are not allowed. I can't have unkillable servants that make everyone else pale in comparison. Ask before you pick a servant, and I'll help you with them if need be. The preference is towards middle of the line servants such as Robin Hood, or Qin Liangyu
3. I must approve of your characters personally before allowing them into the roleplay. Characters not approved do not get noticed in the IC. Post characters in the OOC before approval.
4. PVP is allowed and will be taken up in the arena, or through collab however BOTH parties must agree to the battle. Battles will be done more than likely in a controlled Chaldera environment.
5. Everyone starts with three command seals. Command Seals are renewed once per distortion travel.
6. 2-3 Noble Phantasm limit on Servants whom are not canon. This is to prevent power playing, and shenanigans. I may be considerate of three if the servant warrants it. Remember in the show at least the noble phantasm is suppose to be a defining aspect of the legend of the servant.
7. I reserve the right to gm to reject characters for any basis. Be it for personal conduct, or roleplay reasons.
8. Players are encouraged to make both master and servant in order to make the process move smoother. You can play one of either however the burden of finding a suitable user to help you is between you and whoever else is playing the opposite. I will not make a new character should someone drop out.

Hmmmmm.....classic 7 classes, so no Special Class Servants, I assume.

No over-powered Servants, so Servant Universe is out.

Are High Seravnts and Pseudo-Servants off the table too?

As rule states I'm looking around the road of those who can hold their own in a fight, or at least provide some sort of a support role like Hans. I'm not looking for the Cu Chulainn's who can auto kill most servants without high dumb luck, or can render someone apart like King Hassan, or Medea (ruler breaker is obviously hard to nerf and can essentially overlook lore.). Its for lack of a stick so to speak so I don't let anything through that can be abused as my belief is that if something can be abused, and thus weaken the story and the other characters involved, it will be. As for extra class servants I am willing to consider them on the lower tiers but its a case by case basis.

Pseudo Servants? I guess but that brings in the weird stuff of how and why.

Is Medusa okay?

@Rezod92Depends. Her Rider version is pretty strong as she is but if you're fine with sealing Bellerophon (The pegasus as some variants of her have it and granting flight as noted has always been a sore point as it forces the need for an archer or whatever) maybe. I've always been iffy on her. Her powers are potent but they both require set up, and can be resisted. Her lancer variant i'm also fine with just with a slight anecdote that I may use some magics to heal story important characters to bypass the fact she can cause some serious wounds that can hinder the story. Its more so a concession to myself so that I don't just auto dodge some of the attacks while say Mordred is also in their face attack.

Checks YOUR Servant

Okay, a few things and I'm not being harsh or critical or anything. I'm just trying to understand what you're going for here:

1. You want to seal Medusa's Noble Phantasm? The NP is literally half the Servant. How can Servant truly perform if they can't use their best move when the situation calls for it? Medusa isn't even the strongest Rider, let alone the strongest Servant. And sure, I can understand how Lancer Medusa's weapon can be seen as a bit OP (because it is. It kills immortals, after all.) But in the same vein...

2. Your Servant, Mordred, is not only a high tier Servant, but her NP is designed to kill Artoria, one of the strongest Sabers to exist. She's overqualified for "middle of the line" Servants, as stated in your rules.

3. You really want the Masters and Servants in this RP to earn their victories, huh?

I've got a history of downplaying my characters. I'm using Mordred as a tool in a way. If players drop out, and they do usually I've completed a total of two roleplays in over 10 years, I can use a stronger servant to defeat an enemy in some way. More so Mordred is also a rather one trick pony. She hits hard, and she hits quick. She also has a big laser. But that's all she does. She's not say Raikou who has the following spread.

On top of eternal arms mastery, and the ability to clone herself to use weapons from her own story's group. Not including a similarly large streak of lighting, a bow and arrow, and kintoki's axe. I'd say as a DM tool Mordred is about as baseline fair as I can get. She has a limited range of movement, a powerful super, and a solid skill line however she won't be taking away anyone's thunder as she can't spam Blood Clarent Arthur, nor can she cast spells, or fly. A tank with good damage output that won't eclipse the party.

And yes victories should feel earned not given in my opinion especially when victory is more or less guaranteed anyways given the pve nature of this roleplay. If any of this upsets you, you're free to withdraw your interest. I am also open to suggestions on what a proper servant that serves my apparent rules while also allowing me to get over the hump of killing off a servant due to someone's prolonged inactivity, or ghosting.

On subject of why Medusa is iffy: Once again a flying based servant brings up the question as me as a dm of "ok how do i counter an opponent who flies? And do so consistently?" Generic enemy skeleton/soldier archers constantly seems like a cop out, and constantly having to have an archer around ruins the chance for variety. Medusa specifically is also capable of stunning individuals with lower magecraft resistance, and royally mess up anyone within her blood fort if she can manage to set it up. Furthermore she has mystic eyes, independent action, divinity, and magic resistance. All of those skills do make her a significant servant even without Bell.

@vancexentan

Very well then. If Mordred can have her big beam attack, then I ask that Medusa keep her flying horse. Ignoring what happened in the Heaven's Feel movie, Bellerophon is basically an air strike, meant to take out a group of enemies or a giant target but not a small moving target.

I will allow it on the concession of it only being used as a diving attack. I've made my opinion on constantly flying rather clear by now I believe. For my part I have no plans for enemies to have that as well. Flying in general is a very overlooked ability in a fight where combatants typically have no counters when its in say an open plane of land and not in the vicinity of large sky scrapers. Its the reason archers are so threatening since at certain ranges they have impunity from damage.

sigh

Okay, I won't use Medusa. Mainly cause your rules kinda eliminate her NP being used as transportation.

How about Frankenstein? Her NP HAS to be last resort because, at full power, it can kill her.

I don't mind Fran you can use her if you want. The question becomes what do you intend to do once the NP goes off? Restore her with a command seal? Resummon her?

Command Seal. Also, like in the game, Fran can use her NP at lower power, but it will knock her out. I consider her using Overload, one of her skills, means she's using full power. That way, she's not completely gated from using it, but it's still a huge risk.

I might have something for this. That said, it is important to note that most canon Riders are able to consistently fly with their mounts, and flight is only really an issue if the Rider possesses the skills of an Archer, which uhh... most don't. They don't need to have wings to fly around, after all. What balances them in combat is how mounts don't possess the same amount of burst speeds Servants do. It'd be like trying to dodge things with Torrent's dash on Elden Ring as opposed to rolling around~

@Rezod92I'll accept the characters I can see no faults with them.

@The Irish Tree The character seems fair i'm ok with it.

@SSW Alright I'll ask how you'd want me to implement a character like this into the story? It will be mostly combat based with sides of roleplaying in its quieter moments. The character seems to be a highly talented spell caster of some sort with high clairvoyance if what i'm reading is right? It presents the problem to me that while they can see a path forward its infinite and thus complicated so i'm not sure what kind of information i'm supposed to hand to this character? On top of that they can apparently shrug off debuffs? I'm not entirely sure how i'm going to work with the whole concept of a seer with strong magecraft that more or less can just see through whatever the enemy is trying to do unless i'm understanding the concept wrong.
