Hello, and thanks for stopping in! I am Shu and this is my 1x1 Index, a categorization of plot concepts, OC’s, and foundational pairings that I have assembled for hopeful roleplays. This listing is quite diverse in nature mirroring my interests so I am sure any potential partners can find something here that catches their eye! I will update this thread over time to keep in check with my availability, ideas, and general writing cravings. So do not be shy about checking back in from time to time if you like. Before moving on to the items at hand let me share a little on myself…

~ I consider myself to be within the range of a mid casual to advanced writer. I like well-written posts with plenty of content, that said I am not a super demanding type when it comes to post length/size. Quality over quantity. If I had to put a general spectrum on my own typical post length I would say three to ten (max) paragraphs.

~ My posting pace is what I would call “flexible”. My work demand, amount of free time, and the scenario at hand are all contributing factors to how quickly I reply. Usually I can post my follow-up a day or two after my partner posts, just keep in mind that the “day or two after” isn’t set in stone. To add assurance it is rare I take longer than a week to reply and I make a point of keeping my partner in the loop so they know what to expect regarding pace.

~ I am open to forum (1x1), PM, and Discord roleplays.

~ Mature themes - violence, profanity, smut/erotica, etcetera - are acceptable and in some cases central. Of course a conversation will need to be had on comfort zones/boundaries.

~ I tend to prefer Discord for planning and discussion as well as general OOC communication. This is not mandatory however so if you do not have Discord no worries!

~ I enjoy writing with people who are interactive and contributory, offering their opinions and ideas on characters, plot direction, etcetera.

~ I love to world build! Expanding on settings/universes is a passion of mine in roleplaying. This is not a necessity just an FYI, I am open to more relaxed and casual approaches to setting development.

Synopsis

After the end of World War Three the United States of America no longer existed. Having suffered twelve major nuclear attacks and the targeted elimination of the standing government during the conflict, the shambling and directionless nation fractured postwar. As the world recovered from years of bloody and devastating global war various nation states arose in the now former US.

The Commonwealth of Augusta, the Boston Federation, the Eerie-Ontario Confederacy, and the Democratic Republic of Raleigh - these are the major powers of the north.

The year is 2090, roughly sixty years since the end of World War Three. The powers of the north and east coast coexist in a “cold peace”, false smiles and gestures of serenity cloak acts of assassination and espionage. The people work in the factories and shops and toil in the fields for their respective nations, in the evening time watching and listening to propaganda from the establishments. Culture has stagnated as all resources and labor go into domestic development and the militaries.

Isle au Haut, Maine - the capital state of the Commonwealth of Augusta - has come under scrutiny after allegations that the military base built on it is a front for a black site where “enemies of the state” and other priority detainees are kept. A leak from a supposed inside source has suggested that the facility also conducts secret research on prisoners aside from cruel methods of interrogation and usual executions. Since becoming a one party state twelve years back the Commonwealth has grown increasingly aggressive and more militarized under the policies of the Chesuncook Lobby which has lead to particularly colder relations between it and it’s neighbors.

My partner and I will role as two operatives from factions/nations of our selections sent to infiltrate and investigate the Isle au Haut naval base - an alias for “Camp Rho” - and uncover the sinister secrets of the facility, ultimately revealing a plot by the ultranationalist Chesuncook Lobby that must be stopped for the safety of the surrounding nation states.

Synopsis

The Prelacy says that magic is the black gift of the Abyss, a direct affront to The Creator’s design. Since the dissolving of the colleges and guilds of magic two centuries back the arcane arts have been declared heresy against the word of The Creator. Those who practice or study magic or take magical items and texts for themselves - regardless of intent - are declared apostates and are judged as such.

Despite the many decades of zealous efforts by the Prelacy and their knightly orders magical practice continues to exist, the arcane arts never truly dying out. Druids, elementalists, enchanters, necromancers, and of course blood mages continue to walk the earth always vigilant for the militants of the cathedrals and their cronies.

One blood mage in particular has long been hunted by the Templar knights and the Inquisition. Having achieved immortality, an affront to the divine powers of only the Creator Himself, for passing generations has this man fled the wrath of the clergy. When he is finally found he is slain by the Knights Templar who then destroy his lifetime of research and torch his estate. Only his two young apprentices manage to escape and barely so.

On their own and with the Templars and Inquisition at their heels these two apprentices must take all that their master taught them and choose how to employ this knowledge. Wether they seek bloody revenge or to merely take up their masters’ legacy and transcend mortality is to be seen. My partner and I will role as the two apprentices fighting to survive in a world unwelcoming of their kind.

NOTE: This RP will potentially touch on dark elements such as human sacrifice and other violent magics.

Synopsis

For four centuries now House Vahidov has ruled Arocuria from the heights of Castle Mooncrest. When they first ascended after the fall of House Agarzev they proved themselves to be unyielding and strong rulers, mortal and undead alike bending knee to them. The humans understood their place as serfs and the other great houses of vampires swore unwavering fealty to their betters. None dared invade or cross House Vahidov and their vassals. Arocuria was truly a strong kingdom ruled by the children of the night.

But House Vahidov are not as they once were. Time and the comforts of power have made them lazy, hedonistic, and neglecting of the realm. Peasant rebellions break out by the season which must be brutally suppressed and the Crimson Legion grow discontent with the lessening of order. Many of the vampires houses have begun to scheme in secret seeing the Vahidov as weak and slothful, their continuation a threat to Arocuria’s very existence.

As the rebellions, unrest, and squalor continue House Vahidov will be put to the test. Will they like their predecessors fall and a new house take over, or will they retain their power and reinvigorate themselves to their old glory? Or will Arocuria itself fall as rivals and foreign powers have come to notice the failing strength of the undead kingdom in the north.

My partner and I will role as two vampires that are either part of House Vahidov or a rival house, it will be up to which my partner prefers. Ideally these two vampires are tightly knit - lovers, siblings, longtime friends, or some other kind of relationship. Our characters will navigate the politics, subterfuge, and blood feuds of the vampiric noble houses of Arocuria as they pursue their ambitions together.

NOTE: Given the genre of this plot expect large amounts of “vampire violence” and some suggestive themes.

GRAY FIRES

Synopsis

Following the death of Cadan the Modest the Free Duchy of Erlan fell into a bloody power struggle. The childless Cadan’s throne was fought over by three claimants; Cadan’s wife Duchess Ilowenn, Lord Jago her second cousin, and Baron Arthek of Ceyn Fros who’s grandfather once sat on the throne when Erlan was an Imperial territory. The conflict of succession was short but bloody ending after two years with several thousand dead.

With support from the Uryonne Empire Baron Arthek won the war and banished both Duchess Ilowenn and Lord Jago from the realm and seized their wealth, estates, and titles. In return for the Uryonnans aid the new Duch helped reestablish Erlan as an Imperial vassal and even married one of the Emperor’s cousins. Part of this pact included the reinstatement of the Imperial Chantry as the official religion of Erlan and cleansing the land of it’s pagan beliefs and traditions which the people had taken up again under the lordship of the late Cadan’s house. Hence came the Inquisition.

The Imperial Inquisition has for two years now worked with a zealous diligence to purge the heresies of the land using a number of methods from holy propagations and church revivals to torture and mass executions. Yet no matter how tirelessly the Inquisitors and priests work there are always more heretics to be found; druids, witches, wilder cults, and those found secretly tributing to the old gods within the walls of their homes. But such persistence by the locals only makes the Inquisition more fervent in their mission - and more invasive and brutal in their methods.

My partner and I will role as two young Inquisitors partaking in this “great mission” to help cleanse the Duchy of Erlan. At first committed and loyal to their duties the vast cruelties the two will witness at the hands of their fellows begin to render them confused and shaken to say the least, this only peaking when expected to carry out such harsh methods themselves. As the corpses are piled and the blood flows in rivers the pair of faithful will be forced to choose between their duties and their morals.

NOTE: This RP will be near exclusively dark themed and include elements such as detailed torture scenes, mass executions, and forced confessions and conversions to name a few.

MAVGORAN NIGHTS

Setting
The fictional state of Mavgora during the Cold War.

Synopsis

The year is 1972 and the world stands divided between East and West, the Cold War seeing no end in sight. The arms race, proxy wars, and intrigue games occupy many theaters. Spies and double operatives are everywhere, for in this Cold War information and espionage are an edge any nation worth it’s salt will utilize.

When a brilliant scientist seeks to defect to the West, offering valuable research data and other intel, the CIA send an operative to help him in his escape to the other side of the Iron Curtain. The operative goes dark and no further word is heard through the contact chain from the scientist. A Central Intelligence mole soon reveals that both the operative and the scientist have been detained and are being held in Mavgora though their location is unknown.

Mavgora was originally a part of Romania though would be officially established as it’s own socialist republic after the end of the Second Great War. Like it’s parent Romania, Magvora is not part of the USSR but is among the Eastern Bloc nonetheless. The folk of the small Republic are fiercely patriotic and suspicious of foreigners in general.

Faced with the danger of losing the defector and the agent, as well as the possibility of compromising, Langley takes immediate action. Two of the finest agents that the West has to offer are dispatched to Mavgora, their mission: to locate and recover both the scientist and the missing operative as well as the scientists’ dossier. Failure means loss of a valuable asset and information as well as the dangers of leaks if the agency man breaks under the reds. My partner and I will embark upon this daring mission as the two agents sent to Mavgora.

Synopsis

The fires of rebellion have consumed the Commonwealth. In the wake of the economic crises that brought upon the widespread “People’s Depression” insurgencies have broken out across many of the outer worlds. While most are little more than massive riots and upstart anti-government militias some planets have taken to organized revolt with the intent of separation from the Commonwealth. One such planet is the small mining world of Harmaz III along the outer fringes of Commonwealth space.

During the Peoples’ Depression Harmaz III was struck severely like most industrial worlds. The widespread effects of the crumbling interstellar economy were particularly punishing for smaller core worlds as well as the outer territories. Following the stagnant government relief and recovery policies further alienation between the Commonwealth legislation and the people occurred when martial law and crackdown were employed to combat rising crime. This and the rhetoric of anti-Commonwealth factions and secessionists only worsened the relations which at this point hung by a thread.

The final straw was when a massive civilian raid on a storage and distribution center was violently suppressed resulting in the deaths of estimated five hundred people and the incarceration of around two hundred after - twenty of which were organizers who were given the death penalty. Regardless of claims this was a blatant violation of executive set policy by a local official this was the spark that lead to the uprisings across the stars.

For a year and a half now Harmaz III has fought for independence from the rapidly decaying and corrupt Commonwealth. Despite most government forces being focused on defending the core worlds and putting down the insurrections closer to home the Harmaz rebels have struggled in their conflict. The local officials at first relied on occasional reinforcements from the core and levying those still loyal to the government. Now they turn to mercenaries and private security units brought in by the corporations which have proven brutally effective at holding the line and frustrating the rebel advance.

When the leaders of the Harmaz rebellion are killed in a surprise attack this cripples the rebellion and scatters their forces to the wind. My partner and I will role as two surviving rebel soldiers who, instead of succumbing to their despair, link up with some of their comrades and continue the struggle. They rally more and more behind them as they fight and reignite the fires of resistance on Harmaz III in hopes of an independent world for their own.

SAMAYŌ KEN

Feudal Japan amid the Sengoku period starting in the year 1567.

Synopsis

As the wavering flame of the Ashikaga shogunate flickers to it’s end many of the great daimyo of Japan plot and conspire in hopes of bringing glory to their clans. They form alliances and coalitions and make war on their rivals, their ambitions the spark that drive them.
One such ambitious man is Oda Nobunaga, known by many as the “Fool of Owari”. Having succeeded his father Oda Nobuhide and seized lordship of Owari the young Nobunaga would then go on to defeat the Imagawa clan at Okehazama. This paired with earning the respect and fealty of many samurai afterward and the gain of much prestige emboldened Nobunaga who then set his intentions on further increasing his power.

He turned his attention to Mino province to the north that had long been the domain of the Saitō clan. The current head of the Saito - Saitō Tatsuoki, young and foolish - has proven inferior against the Oda, having lost much ground and likewise many of his retainers to the Oda, the latter through both betrayal and death in battle.

The year is 1567 and the Saitō clan now face their doom. Oda forces have laid siege to Inabayama Castle, and it is here that our story begins. The Ikari clan have long served the Saitō faithfully, even now in the face of certain defeat they stand steadfast and unwavering. As the castle is about to fall the head of the Ikari sends his son and daughter away despite their protests, his final wish that they might survive and see to the continuation of their clan. He also asks that they visit vengeance upon those that have disgraced them and their Saitō masters alike.

My partner and I will role as the son and daughter (brother and sister) mentioned above as they set out on a quest to avenge their fallen kin and rekindle the prestige of the Ikari clan, washing away the shame that Nobunaga has wrought on them. As this is historical fiction we will be playing upon the events following the historic seizure of Mino and Oda Nobunaga’s revelation of his intent to conquer all of Japan. While fictional as stated the idea is to avoid major anomalies that conflict with history while telling the tale of two sibling warriors seeking vengeance and redemption alike.

NOTE: I would prefer to partake in this RP with someone who has at least modest knowledge of the period/setting. While I have no problem making corrections and doing research obviously I would rather avoid someone who is for the most part clueless and unfamiliar in this context.

SONS OF MARS

Sicily - and possibly beyond - starting in the year 288 BCE.

Synopsis

After the death of Agathocles, tyrant of Syracuse and self-proclaimed king of Sicily, the large number of Italian mercenaries he had hired to aid in his long struggle for lordship of Sicily were left without employment. While many returned to their home region of Campania some would stay in Sicily, finding the weather favorable and relishing the adventure to be had in a foreign realm.

In 288 BCE - one year after the death of Agathocles - these mercenaries would arrive in the city of Messana where they were welcomed with open arms. The people of the city were a peaceful folk and kindhearted and by extension unarmed and absent to the ways of battle. The mercenaries while enjoying the comforting hospitality in time grew restless and thirsted for spoils. Late one night the small band betrayed their hosts and butchered the Messanians savagely, the surviving men fleeing south while the women were taken as wives and slaves.

My partner and I will role as two members of this mercenary band carving a bloody path across Sicily. Historically these mercenaries - who dubbed themselves “the Mamertines (Sons of Mars)” - would rule Messana and terrorize Sicily for twenty years. They raided the countryside and used the steadfast port city as a base and staging point for assaults both on land and sea. They committed many atrocities including pillaging, piracy, slave trade, ransoming, and mass slaughter. Obviously as this RP will cover mature and for some uncomfortable themes I ask that my partner be open to very gritty and dark content and writing very morally black characters.

Depending on my fellows’ preference we can write a tale that aligns with history as recorded or take the alternate route and our characters lead the Mamertines to a future beyond petty brigandry.

NOTE: I would prefer to partake in this RP with someone who has at least modest knowledge of the period/setting. While I have no problem making corrections and doing research obviously I would rather avoid someone who is for the most part clueless and unfamiliar in this context.
