Andy was not going to do a barrel roll. She didn’t need anyone else to tell her otherwise. She considered flipping them all off but decided against it. Dorian possessed the skateboard. She had a feeling that’d be something she wouldn’t tell Chase. Better he didn’t know. The tension between the two of them wasn’t something she felt she needed to fan the flames of.
Andy didn’t know French. Percy was speaking it. “No hablo francés. ¡Solo inglés y español! ¡Y PERDÓN!” She did know that Percy had said her name and merci at the same time, so she assumed she was at least somewhat forgiven for touching him.
Then things went even more sideways. They went wildly bad really fast. There were actual cannons being fired. A knife somehow was barreling their direction. She moved, taking the knife to her thigh. Andy hissed in pain. Better her than Percy though she supposed. She could deal with pain. Pain was an old friend. She left the knife in her leg. It hurt like hell but that was better than bleeding out and she wasn’t exactly in a position to bandage it.
Then for some insane reason Percy leapt from the Dorian-possessed-skateboard. What the fuck was he thinking? If he was leaving though she could only assume Dorian would leave the skateboard too. She needed to get it going again.
Electricity leaped from her, grabbing the metal. It knew what to do now. She grinned. She had gotten the hang of this faster than she thought she would. Andy was thankful for that. Even more so that it didn’t further damage Chase’s prized skateboard.

Ben wasn’t sure exactly when things went sideways. He had been smiling and talking with Chase. And then Chase had moved to protect him, taking an actual sword to his gut. He stood there for a moment stunned. Unable to say or do anything. Trying to process it. He didn’t even notice that Gideon went down. That she was dead.
“What the fuck? Why didn’t you use shadows? Why did you use your body? What? I mean... Thank you. But what? Why your actual BODY?” Ben finally half stammered out. Leah was there removing the sword and healing Chase, while Chase quipped.
“You are not fine! She just said you have internal bleeding!” Things had gone seriously sideways. The whole structure was collapsing, his heart hammered. Fear and adrenaline coursed through him. Leah was distracted helping Chase and Chase had a bloody sword wound! “Millie, you also do healing? Please... Help him.”
He felt the cool touch of Chase’s shadow teleportation taking them from the collapsing Baba Yaga rock, into the shadow of the dwarven structure. Glimpse was there... handcuffed?
Ben turned his attention out to the desert. He knew that on Earth that deserts had insects. They were crawling with them. Even during winter there had been insects all over the desert. So he reached out, he called for all the insects that he could. Asking them for help. To provide cover. To be distracting. To fly into the faces and eyes of those attacking them. He called as loud as he could.
Eight tarantula hawk wasps flew out from the desert. He smiled. These were dangerous insects. Their sting was paralytic, though their usual prey was much smaller being tarantulas and not people. They were massive though. Ben knew that people didn’t like bugs flying in their faces though. So he hoped these things swarming the faces of the attackers would be distracting.
