Guild Concept Arts

These are concept arts for our guild, but a simpler one would do as seen on the actual feature.

The first one is a prototype closer to the one that is featured

This was a poorly layout one :(

The First Teardrops — Blood, Sweat & Tears

T'was no illusion nor dream that you're seeing, fleeting & clinging, as you caught your breath, panting till daunting, behelding reckoning a distant future.

At the peak of the otherworldly, blackmoon mountain, you shrieked, for the answers you seek are of blood, sweat & tears. A force of one, a gaze for none, the both of you gripped your swords – itching for an instance of reprieving words. A silent voice, struck by the Swordsaint as the Kintsugi took no heed & attacked the Vampire. The former, as the Swordsaint, clear as a day, was hesitant yet the Kintsugi was too relentless, beguiled by her judgment.

Then, as the vengeful blade was about to make the Vampire, fade, a reflection of the Kintsugi's beloved, apparated.

Only to disappear into thin air, to quell her rage — a handsome man with his golden key, raised & pointed towards the clouded Kintsugi, undoing the illusion that sprung forth twin celestial spirits.

Just before the Kintsugi could retort, before she knew it, she felt a dance of lightning, disarming her upon the air but because her rage was grudgeful, she lunged herself against both men — only to see a god, freeze her time, denying satisfying pathways to reach the boy.

The area then turned tundric.

If the attitude of the Kintsugi was haughty, the altitude of Ur, was hottie.

Reality distorted by a thin icebreaker of fragmented icy reality.

Ur in her naked glory, with a familiar, 1 tailed fox on her shoulder, restrained the Kintsugi.

"Alright children, this isn't how you greet a new member."

She winked at Voss and Grey. "Good job, take the Vampireboy with you to the guild, have Valerie, patch him up."

Ur sighed. "I was in a Magic Council Meeting back in Fiore and y'all couldn't get chummy enough? I'm grateful that the new guildhall isn't in shambles, Ifrit, Athena."

Ur looked at the the blue sky with the sunrise at its advent, the sun's light, glistened upon her birthday-suited, ivory skin.

"Still, I can only hope, if our decision to open ourselves to the city is a good feather for more Teardrops to come and ease the tensions with the Firelord."

Ur looked at Aiko while caressing Akane who's in her fox form at her shoulder, picking up the Kintsugi sword.

"You're grounded, young lady!" she comically bonked Aiko with the sword to her head.

At the guild, everyone gathered & as usual, they were met with applause. "It's them! Lord Voss took the wheel! We know that his charm tops all!"

Lemon juices were being served but there's only one cup left.

The Voss fangirls swooned.

Heh! Real men are about tact. I'm sure Grey took down that Vampire threat with his inventions!

Meanwhile a young boy with white hair, smirked.

"See Gray, that's a cooler Grey!"

Gray (child) whined. "This is why people should copyright their names."

Their big sister reprimanded the youngest.

Ultear: "Gray...your clothes!"

Gray: "Oh shit!"

Lyon: "Exhibitionist."

Voss and Grey then got pissy with each other, maybe more than just the lemon juice.

Ur, Aki and Mio...in the guild as well, while the chaos happens.
"Alright then, Aki was it? Stretch your hand out. I'll do everything I can to not have you sentenced to death any further by the White Creed. The choice is yours, will you stretch out your hand, cry and rise from the ashes or.... and if you do, don't be afraid of what comes next."

Gray Sterling

The first to enter the guild would inevitably be the Sterling; inevitable, especially when it comes to welcome parties and cover-ups.

"Ello, hello, Voss coming in right behind me!" That call would be enough to revitalize the fans to greet their idol, as Gray shuffles Aki past the party and headed off ahead for Mio to handle. And with his part done...well, that means he's headed right back to the party.

Before Aiko could make use of her sudden freedom, she felt the descent of her blade to her. Everything happened to fast, she last remember heading out to train then she...

...she lunged at a stranger with unearned fury.

"What happened? Everything just went too fast, did I just try to kill a stranger?" Aiko still not believing the last events.

Mio seeing the party truly start to begin began playing the song
Mio had no real intention a participating in the party it's really isn't her but it is her job to give the gilded mark and she does try to make at least a major appearance every time a new guild member shows up , they should at least know she exist

The song in question

As usual, Voss gave out a sigh as his fans circled him. It would have been better to just immediately head home after this job, he thought, but as that option was now out of the picture, he just tuned out the voices around him and made a note in his mind to somehow get back at Gray for this somehow.

The good news is that in his two years of being part of Fenix Tear, he got semi-used to getting swarmed like this, so with practiced movements, he weaved through the crowd and took a seat as he picked up some untouched lemon juice that was sitting on the table and began drinking it while giving a pleasant smile to hide how annoyed he was. Thinking about it, he should have probably asked Gemini to transform into him before he even walked inside.

The Fenix Tear messhall boasted two floors. One, the ground floor. Constantly being rebuilt and refurbished from all the chaos that ensues. A typical tavern setting amped to 11, just a Ur wanted it. Chaos, whimsy, and conflict all wrapped into one floor. If only Ur could see the operational cost and insurance price of the mess hall alone...
The second floor was much more private. Not because it was secluded or off limits, but because all the young bloods, hotshots, and adoring groupies always seemed to congregate where the action is. Its because of this that Ifrit almost exclusively drank and ate at his corner booth on the second floor. If asked why, he would give some philisophical words on "The value of viewing the full picture." or something along those lines. In reality, he doesn't want to be in the middle of all the chaos. That, and he can keep a close eye on his employees from above.
Ifrit is a bit of an outlier in the guild, even among the already eccentric roster of Fenix Tear. He's not as much of a public figure as some of the others. He acts more as a "director" role. As the Founder and President of Yamatai Oils, he practically bankrolls the guild. Simultaneously keeping the first and second class mages on payroll, acting as Ur's secretary, and owning/funding the construction of the guild's magic library (thank the heavens Mio tends to it). Of course, his roots in the guild are much more deep than that. But for his own sanity, he likes to keep those truths under lock and key.
Of course, the other benifit of being on the second floor is that it allows Ifrit to intervene if anything goes awry... Just like now. Aiko, an upstart in the guild, has a tendency to lose control of herself. A bloodlust, or a precognitive curse, or something along those lines. A problem fixed a simple Temporal Lock can't fix, but a problem nonetheless.
Ur may not appreciate it all the time, but it is Ifrit's job to see the bigger picture of the guild. Balancing checkbooks, filling out payroll, and most of all risk management. He originally protested to her when Aiko got her guild mark. Said she was a "Self-fulfilling prophecy more willing to die vindicated than not die at all.". In private, he thinks Akane has something to do with Ur dismissing Ifrit's wishes. Swordswomen-of-a-cloth or something to that effect. Ifrit would never be one to go against Ur, but he is still a God. And all God's have a tendency to act in their own ways.
Ifrit sips his drink as he observes Aiko. Even though she is a second-class, Ifrit knows not to underestimate her Ether Sense. His Temporal Lock was only for a brief moment, but still potent enough for senses of her pedigree to pick up. Hopefully she gets the message, "Come meet with me." No one else in this guild uses Time Magic, the source of the Lock is pretty cut and dry..

Speaking of inducting people into the guild Ifrit thinks are liabilities, he knows for a fact Ur is currently making that same mistake. This time, though, with a complete unknown. Ifrit groans in irritation as the hubbub below only gets louder. He gets his drink and starts walking away from the mess hall. "Aki... will you be our rise or ruin..." he murmurs to himself. He's leaving before Akane shows up.
Say what you will about the strength of S-Classes. But they never get along.

Gray Sterling

Gray would eventually head to the bar for drinks (I mean, it's a party; even if there's no booze, it is etiquette to have a drink in hand to signal your turn to talk), and he would find they'd run out of cups. Honestly, not unexpected given how Voss' fan club seemed to have grown in the past while, but that still leaves him with a simple issue with a simple Sterling solution.

There are no unoccupied cups, so whose can he take... A mental list of who's here almost immediately bottoms out when he considers how petty he'd have to be to bother others for it, let alone resort to debts.

So that just leaves Voss and another, since he's an option. Yusuke, a guild member and another fan of Voss. Usually, not even worth considering getting involved with her, but if he baits her with her idol, that changes the picture. And if it's messing with anyone, he has to get Mio in on it too to make it practically guaranteed.

A full plan organized in his mind to get a cup with just a few choice words...But, he cannot forget that they are still all fellow guild members. They're all practically family.

So, he sits beside Voss with a cheeky smile and glittering eyes that his fellow pretty boy would recognize. He's getting threatened.
"Vooooss, we're out of cups, share with me or you'll have to share with Yusukeeee~."

It is important to note that Yusuke doesn't share. She either chugs it all herself or, as Voss knows first-hand, bashes his teeth with it to force him to chug all the sa- actually even worse now that Gray's remembering the last time he pulled this stunt. She couldn't stop giggling then, so she spilled it all over Voss...well, at least it's an effective threat to make.

Mizore — S-Class | Exorcist
A rain of ehterically frostbluenswords rained down from above, indiscriminate and well intended against Grey, irritated because he seemed to notice other girls and not her, as if she'd be the type to admit it, being fun a of a bum like Grey in secret.

Prior to that, Mizore assisted Ur in exorcising the vampiric frame of Aki, reverting, in human form. After all, she is the closest as Aiko's confidant in terms of swordly matters, Mizore, too, has healed the mind of Aiko — cutting down to asunder in a mental reprieve from the Kintsugi. Mizore is the head healer of the guild & Valerie works alongside her unit, her exorcism, generated a choker for Aki to wear & even call forth his significant other, by a push of a button in that lacrimized section of the choker.

Yusuke huh? Mizore couldn't fathom why this fangirl has a boy's name, let alone screw her potential over young love.

She then saw Ifrit and gave a side-eye. Yes, S-Class Mages just don't get along.

Mizore airwalked, meaning she levitated and glided down the air like it's stairs, her arrogant breeze sent chills to intimidate the surrounding Voss fangirls.

She came to Voss and whispered in his ear, coyly. It's also not the first time she's done this, she is after all, a big sister, who looks out for her younger siblings. She once spoiled Grey with the same method, she didn't get any rewards but Grey got a thunder potion.

"I'd be doing a Mansion Raid. You can have all the loot for yourself. Yes...we are talking about that mansion. Unless of course you think all the loot would be to cumbersome to solo?"

She slipped in a Black Celestial Key in his pocket, the imagery of an aquatic majestic dragon vividly manifested in Voss's mind.

You can have this, if you do what you're told. Don't ever doubt how I can make you rich.

From a fangirl perspective, that's quite a lot of innuendo, Mizore looked like she's flirting with Voss and touching him and almost kissing him, when she whispered in his ear.

She looked at Ur's shoulder, with Akane in it and also Mio.

Using telepathy, she's enticed the fox and the ghost to come along.

"Don't blow your cover, there's a lot to see at Everlue's" she said to the fox and ghost.

What is Mizore scheming?

Gray Sterling

It’d be within split seconds that Gray would feel a pull above him. Literally. Very subtle. And one he’s more than aware is his own magic/magnesis telling him…
Mizure is throwing swords at him again.

For most guild members, even a sudden attack from Mizure wouldn’t be impossible to dodge. Hell, for most, it’d be enough notice late and still just flex a bit to take a short distance, especially given that her intention here is just to make distance between him and Voss, judging by how she’s aiming, as well as settling unfounded grievances with him.

But why would Gray care about what she wants? After all, she’s the one butting in here. So if she wants to have a private moment with Voss, it’s only right to ruin it with the sole best method possible; Ruin the mood.

“Waaaaaah!?!” Unscrupulous. Dirty. Rolling here and there while picking up a chair to defend himself unnecessarily, yet his comedic act keeps him rolling just a few steps from the two and very much in earshot of his pathetic wails. Adjusting sloppily to the senses, his pull/push tells and nudging swords into just close calls.

Does he expect Mizure to be still enjoying the moment even with his efforts?
Yes, she’s absolutely that kind of person. But it will break the vibe for Voss, and to have his fellow pretty boy break free to recognize her freak is enough. Bum tactics #35-

~Don’t get distracted by her, be distracted by meee~

It is unfortunate that Gray that he didn't realize how low she'd go to snare an innocent boy into her plans and didn't realize she'd bait Voss in with his one biggest weakspot: Loot/Money.

Well... looks like he didn't leave fast enough.

Mizore Odnskade. A highly accomplished exorcist and the guild's main healer. Though calling her solely a healer would be an insult to her potential. She's an accomplished swordswoman, trusted confidant of many of Fenix Tear's top mages, and a master of seduction and coersion. And someone Ifrit inherently abhores.
He meant it when he said the S-Classes don't get along. That side-eye Mizore gave him as they crossed paths said it all. A metaphorical "shoulder check".
Within Fenix Tear, there are three or so S-Classes. There's Akane, the yokai swordswoman. Than Mizore, the premiere exorcist. Than Ifrit, the "God Amongst the Highest Heavens". Each of them starkly different from eachother, and constantly at odds. Ifrit is a man of reason and fable. Some might say a bit overcautious, or always seeing the bad in someone before the good. But that was his job. He did not get his wealth and power by being fickle or carefree. Discipline, stability, and fundimentalism were the key tenants to his strength
He never fully trusted Akane. He sees her as someone intentionally putting on a mysterious facade. Its obvious she wants to hide something. That he understands, Kronus knows he has his own secrets. But Ifrit can see her potential, her Entelechy. Its... frightening. A duelist capable of striking down the divine. Her true power is something she constantly hides, something he cannot fully gauge. And what he can't gauge, he can't trust.
With Mizore... to be honest his thoughts on her are more simple. She's abrasive, flaunty, and lewd. She leans too much into her sex appeal to get those around her to listen. Worse yet... she keeps messing with his employees. Voss and Grey. Sometimes, he wonders if her obsession with them is because she can manipulate them easily or truly because she has an unhealthy fascination with the boys. Ifrit can handle the groupies messing with those on his payroll, but another S-Class... That's a different story.
Still, though, he cannot do anything. While he is "technically" acting Guildmaster and second-in-command, Ur has explicitly told him to play nice. He can't force Akane to reveal her true power, or order Mizore to stop messing with their juniors. But that doesn't mean he always has to cooperate with them.
He can work with them for professionalisms sake, but he doesn't have to make peace with them.
A sentiment he's certain is shared with the other S-Classes.
Ifrit vanishes completely from the hallway where he was leaving, and appears next to Grey on the first floor, as Mizore was practically climbing on him. Yes, he has to be able to work with Mizore, but that doesn't mean he has to tolerate her every action
"Mizore, are you trying to entice our juniors into another goose chase? I don't recall any mansion raid being sanctioned by the Guildmaster. And Voss... really? Folding that easily to a Midas promise. Do I not pay you enough? If you wanted a raise, you could have always come and spoken to me."
He rarely makes such an appearance. Especially in the mess hall, of such places. But with Aki's acceptance, Aiko's volatile temperence, Mizore's shenanigans, Akane's... whatever Akane is doing, and Grey and Voss's fanclubs... Yeah, he can't sit back anymore.
Whether intentional or not, he acts in opposition to Mizore. Tension between two S-Classes. This can only go so well

As the party was starting to get onto its first stages of rowdiness and the guild members were getting their cups of alcohol, Valerie walked down the stairs down to the messhall, a fiddle and bow in hand. A party required lively music, not the melodic beauty of her harp. Her regular harp, not Chiron. That majestic instrument wasn't meant to entertain. Hopping onto the bar counter with practised ease of having done it countless times before, Val placed the fiddle into the crook of her neck and began to play. A lively FIorean jig, commemorating Ur's recent and no doubt hair-pullingly tedious trip to the western continent to meet with the Magic Council. Val's legs kicked left and right in tandem with the jig as she recalled how she came to be here.

Two years she'd been a member of Fenix Tear. Two years since she left home and her dear mother told her at the gates not to return until "she learned how to behave". Well, she didn't say that exactly, but that's what she meant. Kind of her to give her a stipend on her way, though. She figured the solution was obvious: join a guild. What guilds were there in Hizore? Fenix Tear was the only one she knew of without asking around, so there she went. She's learned since that the S-Class members of the guild vet their members, but her entry to the guild was approved right then and there the moment she walked in by Ur herself. Val wondered if Ur knew her, or her family, but she never mentioned it. The rest of the guild, not even the S-Class members seemed to be aware of where she came from.

And what a blissful thing their ignorance was. A life of freedom and adventure beckoned her to Fenix Tear and there she'd found her place as the guild's resident bard. She knew how to play before, but certainly not bawdy jigs and risque ballads she's learned since then.

Ur's announcement of a new guild member drew her gaze and the first thing she noticed about this Aki was his red hair. Like hers! How nice. Fenix Tear needed more redheads. Though, it made her wonder. Red hair could be either a blessing or a curse, given how much people put stock on it being a sign of a good lineage (thanks a lot, Firelord). Gods know how much it wanted to make her pull her own hair out when she was younger. She hoped the boy would take it in stride.

Val snapped out of her reminiscencing and surveyed the room. Voss and his fan club, check. She did find the man very pretty, but found the concept of fawning over the man quite a bit too much. Give the poor man a little space. And there was Gray at the very bar she was dancing on, having a drink. Sterling was an apt name for the man, given how his eyes shone at the mention of profit. No surprise given his family history. Double check. Then Mizore, technically her superior in the guild thanks to their healing inclinations, making an appearance and putting on a lewd display and courting Voss and Gray into a shady mansion raid. Triple check.

Who she didn't account for was the Guild second-in-command Ifrit coming down from his perch to admonish his fellow S-class and subordinates. Not the admonishing part, S-Class were always at odds with one another. It was making an appearance at all that surprised Val. Usually he didn't bother.

But Val continued to play and dance uninterrupted despite her musings, filling the messhall with lively music as she oft did.

Mio watching her Guild members in the same way A person does bird watching mio doesn't really do anything outside of it okay that's technically a lie after all she does a lot of the internal paperwork of the guild the best way to put it is if Ifrit is the right hand of the guild running all the finances then mio is the left hand who does significant amount of the paperwork but to most people see some people who's the weird ghost girl that lives in the library after all she really don't do guild missions sheila missions that A grade or higher.

Find me looking Down from Her being a conductor from the imagine instruments in the air right now.

She sees Mizore approaching Voss opinion of the boy decide She does genuinely feel bad for the guy Being surrounded by women all the time after all it's somewhat indirectly her fault he's somewhat by accident and he came the main character of the story she writes Drastically shooting him up in popularity besides , the s rank and the guildmaster themselves Voss it's Probably the most no remember of the guild

Unfortunately that's unrelevant, at the current given moment Mizore tries her best to seduce? The poor boy into doing whatever scheme she has going on with complete frankliness mio doesn't really care as an archives and story writer of the guild member is getting dragged around to do suspicious things is objectively good for her. Another simple distraction a perfect thing to waste her time The problem is that Ifrit decides that you confront her for some reason none of the S rank get along we're normally mio would simply choose to stay out of it This could escalate into a bigger problem

And as the only person currently around they can stop these people from escalating this situation it's her job to deal with it

You may be asking why a girl that's classmate is a B Rank who's only goes on a handful of missions is tasked with the responsibility to manage the tempers of the S ranks well, it's simple, my dear child Any person who has the misfortune of having going against mio quickly learns the meaning of pointlessness and waste of time her dream maker magic can make anything You can realistically think of so As long as she has mana she can do nearly anything , with the fact that her body is completely intangible so unless you have highly specific magics most people simply cannot hurt her mio he's never once genuine fought another Guild member however enough members of the guild has been put in mio dream time out corner has many people in the guild understand if mio is stepping in you should probably stop even the s ranks have been shoved in there really got a little too rowdy after all , it's very little you can do to fight a girl who controls dreams in a dream

“ please calm down Ifrit i'm sure it's not that big of a deal that Mizore wishes to drag Voss on another special mission “

mio voice and Demeanor a nearly complete opposite Her demeanor makes you believe she's a child or maybe. be a young teenager That's one sentence away from falling asleep but her voice was incredibly chipper and a beat.

“ plus issue does anything untoward are junior i can handle it there's nothing i'm not aware of”

For most of the guild members i don't talk it up to her Human watching convinces to the people who are more attuned to the inner workings of the guild they might assume it's because she's an archivist however for the eccentrics who read their own stories that she publishes it paints a much creepier picture the characters in her books that are just the people in the guild would notice event in the stories Are scarily close to reality they're small minnede's changed names sequence of events but it happens so consistently that there's no way that you don't know which is creepy since a lot of times it's information, she should have no way of receiving

Voss Agria

And of course, the moment he sat down and started to enjoy himself was the moment that the world decided to laugh at his attempts at trying to get a bit of rest for himself. Truly, he was foolish to assume that he could do anything without someone else intervening in this guild; it also made him wonder why he joined in the first place. Well, that was a lie, he remembered clearly about a child telling him it was open to new members, and him not really having anywhere else to go, but he could still complain about it!

First was Gray, who decided to waltz up and sit next to him for no apparent reason other than to ask for a cup, despite there being many people with many cups who would happily give them up to him if asked. Voss was already mostly done with his drink, but the principle of the matter still stood thanks to him siccing a horde of fangirls on him before he even stepped into the guild hall. Right when he was about to tell him that last he checked, Yusuke wasn't here, and that he in no uncertain terms should think about drinking by cupping his palms, he didn't get the chance as a rain of frozen swords impaled the area next to him, shame.

Voss could only internally sigh as Mizore descended towards him with the clear intention to talk, or at least tell him something for whatever reason. As always, he put on a polite smile as she got close and briefly wondered what she had to say to him before just deciding to do his usual strategy of politely dismissing her. Then she spoke up about a Mansion Raid, and his eyes immediately lit up (metaphorically, of course). Ignoring whatever Gray seemed to be doing on the ground next to him and every other thought that wasn't related to that, he locked in on how much he could possibly earn.

First of all, it was a mansion, Everlue mansion. The amount of jewellery and trinkets there would be enough for him to bathe in if he felt it. That didn't count for anything magical, which those rich types always had, alongside anything expensive in general that they did nothing but stockpile. The best part of all of this however, was that he would barely even need to do anything! Mizore was an S-Class mage, who realistically could stand up against her? All he had to do was hide behind Scutum while she dealt with anything; it would be free profit!

He almost, almost, didn't notice the key she slipped into his pocket. That would be a can of worms he could open up later though. Right now, there was money to consider! Maybe this was the world finally making it up to him after- no, wait, Ifrit, please, just this once, don't fight with her. Voss promptly decided to open his mouth to both defend his decision and actually inform Mizore of his agreement. "First, I would like to note that yes, I will partake in this mission with you, Mizore. And Ifrit, I assume that you didn't earn your coin by not taking opportunities when they presented themselves, and I'm fairly certain not much harm will come to me specifically. An S-Class mage will also be on the job after all."

Fenix Tear - Foyer

For all of his life, Aki has been a boy of suspicion and mistrust, not just in mistrusting other people, but in other people mistrusting him.

It wasn't that long ago that he had a place to call his home with a family to call his own, yet it felt like an eternity since such things were snatched from him by the whims of fate. He was a Kunihisa, but even before he became the monstrosity that he is now, he had people in his farming village treating him as a bad omen. Countryside villages like Yoake tend to be more open to fears and superstition than more populated communities, and that signature red hair of his gave away the fact that whoever his mother was, She clearly wasn't anyone from around their parts. In spite of whatever Red hair meant in the cities of Shangri-La, all it was at best to a mere rural village was the symbol of an outsider, and at worst, a blasphemy of the father eloping with one far above his stature.

Throughout his life, there were only two who'd support him when all else wanted nothing to do with him, A girl from the village - Yuna Valentine - and his family.

The former was a kind and innocent girl of whom Aki was best friends with; she ended up dying when they were young. However, her spirit seems to have lived on within him - at least that's how the villagers seemed to have believed it when he claimed he's been hearing her voice in his head - and evidently not in the best of ways. She became a phantom, a cursed spirit that somehow bonded to him via a haunting, connecting the two souls together in the same body. It's not clear how it happened, and at first he wasn't even convinced it was Yuna to begin with. This phantom had the same memories, the same likes and dislikes, thoughts and feelings and knowledge only the real Yuna would know, yet her personality was somehow...different. There was a kind of obsession with keeping Aki safe from anyone, lashing out whenever there was a threat, creating misfortune for aggressive villagers, and of course because of this, their combined existence was that much more of an ill omen for the village, as if they didn't have enough reasons to treat him poorly.

As for the latter, most of the Kunihisa family saw Aki as nothing less than a member of the family. Some were in agreement with the village regarding Aki's ominous existence, but they'd never dare to say that directly without becoming disowned. Instead they'd trick and deceive, get him into trouble just like every other bully around that village, all to give some kind of excuse to kick him out. The rest of them never let that happen though; they treated him like family, protecting him from fear and anxieties of Yoake lashing out at him for every unfortunate event that transpires. But what happened to them, what their compassion rewarded them, hardly needs to be said. Aki barely remembers what happened, and Yuna seemed unsure herself. All he remembered was a startling agony through his body while hunting with his family one day, his consciousness fading away from the pain. When he woke up, they all laid lifeless at his feet, his own body drenched in what could only be their blood.

It was at this point that he became a Vampire, and naturally the Village had all the reasons they could ever want to finally end the source of their troubles once and for all. Were it not for Yuna's voice yelling at him to run for it, he probably would have just let them do as they wish to him. Not that they'd ever be able to with their primitive weaponry, now that Aki had Reflector Magic as a result of his transformation.

So he ran, he ran as far as he could, away from the screams and vitriol of his home town, away from the survivors of his clan who blamed him for their deaths and called him a monster, and from accepting the possibility that they may have been right. As a cursed phantom, Yuna seemed to help him any way she could, though that only served to prove him a menace and a monstrous threat people claim him to be. Inevitably, this caught him on the radar of Shangri-La's police force, and the Guilds as a monster-elimination target. He's been drifting around for a bit, never knowing if someone's willing to sell him out or stab him in the back, always asking questions and not taking risks, helped by Yuna of course.

However, even with his new magic - not helped by his clear and obvious inexperience - it was only a matter of time before they were arrested. It didn't take long to sentence him to Death for his crimes and his existence.

That would have been the end of his tale, if not for a certain Icy Guild Master and her motley crew stepping in to take him for themselves, saving his life in the process.

All that to say he has been through a lot in his life, has plenty of reasons to be suspicious of others when anyone associated with him are either dead, or deceiving him. Even now, he's convinced that the only he's still alive is to be this "Ur"'s slave. But at the same time, a life debt is a life debt; what choice did he have?

...So it's no true exaggeration to say that, to him, this has got to be the most suspicious and untrustworthy motely crew he has EVER seen.

It was actually kind of impressive; they'd have to actually try to be this shady and crazy. This wasn't a guild as he's heard of them, it was a mental asylum!

Where would he even begin to describe what he just entered? Well, how about the lady who almost cut his bloody head off on sight before they even got into the building, with a sword that somehow got past his Reflector? How she even pulled that off in the first place, when all other weapons were able to be distorted away from him, was a mystery to them. The only reason he got captured in the first place was by an ambush without weapons, the police just beating him with their fists since his Reflector can't distort living organisms in defense. Was there something special about her sword?

In any case, As soon as the sword Kintsugi was close to his neck, a black aura was manifesting above Aki in response, but deteriorated almost immediately as the wielder of the sword hesitated, distracted by, apparently, an illusion brought about by two small creatures.

Twice now, Ur seemed to save his ass with the help of the two that were with her before - Both weirdly dressed in his eyes, quite frankly - and some kind of entity he couldn't quite explain that seemed to stop the psycho-samurai in her tracks, quite literally. Aki didn't notice the little fox on Ur's shoulder, mostly because the second he noticed Ur was practically nude, his eye sight faded to black while he blushed. Seems Yuna blinded Aki from seeing this perversion, mentally ranting about the perverted madness of a woman who'd walk around a city butt-ass naked in broad daylight.

She took off the veil from the eyes the second the nudist was out of sight, and he stepped into the guildhall itself. Things...only got stranger from there.

Let's see, there's the sex offender with the fox on her shoulder. @Dane @Sadu

The crazy lady from before who got hit with a sudden short-term amnesia apparently. @Digmata

The two boys from before, one of which seemed to have a harem of ladies wanting to fawn over him and the other's...Well Aki has no idea what the deal with him was as he looked like he was having a sudden seizure on the ground and no one seemed to be concerned about that, so he can only assume that's some kind of oddly normal behavior for him. @Aguy @Noob5674

There's the white-haired lady who wrapped some kind of choker around his neck, that seemed to effect his Vampirism and allowed him to summon up Yuna's phantom with a push of the button on his own...which suggests she can't do so on her own anymore, which to be fair, is probably for the best. No real words beyond what was necessary, as she put the choker on him and headed over to the two boys, particularly the one with the narcissist with the harem, to arrange a deal of some kind...

After which the guy/entity who froze that lady from before suddenly appeared and went into a debate with her. @JrVader

Finally, there was the girl playing a fiddle, interestingly with the same red hair as himself, which in itself was a curious thing. His family told him that red hair was some kind of symbol of nobility in the city. It was something he never really thought about before, but does that mean his mother was a noble too? Was this girl connected in some way? Probably not; there's likely a lot of unrelated noblemen and women who happen to have red hair here. @Petulant

Were they missing anyone? ...Ah yes, the Ghost girl who came down when Ur began talking to him and making promises to protect him, who seemed to be a big deal around here, all things considered. She was apparently attempting to put the mark of the guild upon the hand he was supposed to stretch out. But it seems the situation with the apparent elites of this place required her attention more. One probably would be shocked to see a ghost girl lingering around the guild hall, but he's been so used to being haunted by a spirit himself, seeing another one wasn't all that surprising. @Thanatos 7

"What the hell kind of guild is this!?" Yuna spoke in Aki's mind.

"Yeah, I'm starting to think we should have taken our chances with the execution." Aki thought in response, clearly nervous of this place.

Still, he listened to the woman who saved his life, who vowed to protect him from the White Creed, looking her square in the eye...if only to keep focus away from the fact she was still apparently without any clothes.

Aki was someone who questioned everything, and yes, he was practically overloaded with questions about the people here as this place triggered just about every alarm bell in his head. But as he listened to Ur, sensing the sincerity in her words, reminiscent of his father's own, of Yuna's - well, "past" Yuna's - own, there only one out of hundreds that floated up from his subconscious.

"...Why? Why are you guys helping me like this? You stopped a government-backed execution and brought me here, giving me this...thing on my neck and asking me to join a guild you probably risked the existence of with that stunt. None of you even know me, but you should know what I am, what I apparently did. I-I mean, this is a guild, right? You must have seen the request to hunt me down to even know I was about to die. Why go out of your way to rescue and take in a Vampire, a Monster?" He asked.

"...Really laying on the Melodrama there, Aki."

"I-...I know, it's just...Nothing about this adds up, what sane person would risk their whole guild to break a Vampire out of a death sentence?"

"Aki, look around, I don't think there's a single 'sane' person here..."

While Mio is deescalating the situation, what's in the s ranks She hears the newest member talking mio can hear everything that's going on in the Guild supposedly, no one has been able to prove or disprove this ability She climbed she has.

“ All right, I should go talk to the new member you two behave i'll put you in a timeout chair.”

(The time out chair in question is mio dream realm, where she places you in a chair and forces you to contemplate your life choices.)

Mio quickly floats over to the new kid unfortunately four Aki just appears next to him Being nearly halfway across the building , she seemingly instantaneously moved to being standing right next to him just out of the range of the barrier

“ From my personal experience most guilds what of just helped you out of the goodwill though I won't lie and say I didn't have some partial influence over Ur decision to recruit you, but Ur probably would have done it anyway All things considered.“

“ She's probably already mentally deciding to adopt you. Yes she knows you're an adult that doesn't particularly matter to her though.”

Mio reaches out to his neck if this was anyone else, this wouldn't be a big issue However Aki Reflector magic make him realize Mio entire body is magical yet the barrier doesn't anything it's like her body devours a space she's in it is like a void in his ability

look to being moved And when her hand touches his neck it is so painfully cold even for a creature with no body heat mio
Presses the button on the choker summoning Yuna.

“ You must be Yuna, don't hide yourself, us ghost girls should get along but like seriously though you too should start talking to people if I had to give a suggestion probably Aiko that's the person you try to cut their head off She's probably the most normal of our guild. “

“ Alright, I never gave you my name. I am Mio, the resonant ghost girl who lives in the library and self proclaimed second rate mage oh yeah me and you are probably going to fight later it's kind of a tradition for everyone to fight me at least once.”

The Eastern Continent, Hizuru; has long been standing for eons & legends; ever told. Craïstine Shangri-La is the 33rd Diet to the cherryblossom throne for 1000; her millennium reign, acted as the Sakoku Decree. Protection through isolation, of her people against the unholy alliance of Alvarez and Tartaria, — a battle won singlehandedly by Fiore without Ishgar.

As the eternally blazing Firelord; Craïs severely limited access to Hizuru, unless it relates to Trade. Although it wasn't acknowledged — only Tartaria, continually were in business with Hizuru, despite its long standing prejudice against Devils; their alliance today remains in the shadows. For all her might & liberating ideas, for all her claims of invincibility & absolutism, Firelord Craïs; has no control over the prejudice against Devils that her people got. The divide the between Man & Devil, still steadfastly hold today, fueled by xenophobia.

Craïs may've acclaimed to have power or she may not care for what her people think, either way, Hizuru will continue to thrive hating Devils and that will never change.

Through her millennium subjugation, Craïs not only ruled Hinoa; the fatherland; but other Kingdoms as well.

Flashback
Looks like you got me, I can't exactly show myself to the Guild, for that would be an insult to Sera & Tai's memories, let alone Mio's. Arius chuckled in sarcasm.

Ur looked at Arius, the Demon King, with great pressure, ready to wipe him, off, the planet, as the air grew dense & tundric.

Hey, don't be silly. I do love my wife but I got bigger things in fruition according to plan. The current you, has better chances at fairing against the Firelord and we are seven years early. The deal is to fight her at Mio's death anniversary, at exactly Christmas Eve, December 24, 1784. Arius reassured Ur of their deal.

That I haven't forgotten. Then explain to me why, the deserted one, only turn up now, it's been 300 years. Ur pondered as she's still bitter of her friend's betrayal, who rejected humanity first of all & became a Devil, that one, she cannot blame his slippery slope.

T'was shocking.

So let me get the straight. That Goddess wannabe labored and had your child? You infidel bastard! Furious at Arius.

Now don't get mad at me. My son, Aki is an insurance, I made him the perfect vessel for a certain someone. Besides, aren't we distant relatives? Treat him as such, in this case your nephew. Arius mused.

Well then, spill the beans, you mad scientist. Ur sighed.

He's bound for execution, only you can save him. Please, for old time sake.

That's enough. For all your thick exterior. You're still a father, just as you were to Luke. She said.

There was a tender moment and respect between the two founders of Fenix Tear.

I'm sparing you in the name of our past friendship and in case you pull another wild card, I will end you there and then. Ur threatened Arius.

Arius felt shivers down to his core, she really meant what she said.

Tell Tai, I'm not sorry. He's going to be arrested at the end of the year. In the end, I'm just petty, that stupid fox copied my homework.

Ur left.

Arius was relieved. She thought she'd never leave.

Alright, you can show yourself now, Mizore.

Mizore sighed. So your son will be the one to cut down Jumal?

Enough about that. Have you met two of the Burial Choir stooges as I've asked?
Arius questioned.

Yeah, negotiations were short. Their group is quite the circus, claiming themselves to be that of the Spriggan 12.

That brief silence in the room, turned to a shared mocking laughter.

No holds barred for that jab.

Ur knows that you play triple agent. I wonder, whether you're on my side or hers. That's for another time. Now do me a favor, plant the seeds, needed for our chess pieces to grow. Arius commanded.

The following set-ups; Mizore manipulated the sequence of events. She was the one that led Aiko to being possessed by the Kintsugi & their encounter with Aki. Mizore was the one who took the Everlue Mansion Raid, plunging the pawns in line.

Good riddance. Arius was so thrilled this day.

His informant reported that the Sun Village was frozen solid.

Sword God Kaguya will be attacking the Guild soon, make sure that Ur, Akane, and the rest of the S-Class aren't around. I've seen the future. We are to prune each and everyone of them to surpass their limits, to be worthy partaking the Grand Magic Games.

Glimpse of The Future
Fate of Voss - 3rd day of the Grand Magic Games, December 26, X1784.
For the first time since Anna Heartfilia, you have all the 12 Golden Zodiac Keys & because of you, the Firelord gets to awaken the Catastrophic Blood Moon.

Kohane, give all my points to Voss Agria.

You've already got 2 Black Keys, the Snake Charmer of Greed, Ophiuchus and the Water Dragon God of Sloth, Mercphobia.

As a parting gift, I'm making my defeat useful. As your third Black Key, I will savor my wrath upon the Firelord, Craïstine Shangri-La. Of course, I still hate you for defeating me, so may fate toy with you longer, before you die!

I of Envy, amongst the 72 Dark Constellations, Astaroth will see it through!

Summary
In the guild, things were far from peaceful. Aki was far from a pleasant kiddo since he's too cynical at such a young age. It didn't take long for Aki to react poorly in the situation. The rest, however, were nonchalant.

Flashback & Aftermath
As of right now, Mizore is with Voss, Aiko, Valerie and Gray while Aki is at the Imperial Palace, tested upon trial, Ur & Akane, by his side.

Ifrit pilots the Flying Dutchman, the very jet-carrier that they use for Quests.

Mizore yawned at the fact that Ifrit had the balls to put the wheel under auto-pilot. Her tensions with Ifrit has barely gone away, both S-Class could only awkwardly stare at each other, in fact, they're actually roasting each other telepathically and only both of them can hear each other's conversing thoughts.

"Do remember that you only handle the payroll of the First & Second Class Wizards. I do not submit to the likes of monopolizing gods. I expect you to ruin the fun as always but for now, we focus. This Mansion Raid is an S-Class Quest anyways, a low tier one, on top of that.

Though I'd be real. Anyone can just behold things to be S-Class and fail to deliver. The rank of this Quest is vague, don't you think so Ifrit?"
Mizore left Ifrit a question to think.

Mizore hugs Valerie in front of everyone, coyly.

"I need some Valnergy." She whispered in Valerie's ear.

From a certain view, it's as if she nibbled her ear or not.

Though real talk. In that split second, Mizore was able to give her apprentice some info.

"Some musical instruments are mortal instruments." She said so seductively.

"I'm appointing you the Captain of this Quest, my lovely Valy.

Getting to the Mansion will require some undercover expertise. Isn't that right, Mio?"

FYI: Mio is a Ghost, she is our Cameraman, so she's everywhere.

Ghosts of her caliber are just like that. 2 places at once, a phantom and a thought projection.

Mizore pinched Valerie's cheeks.

"If you ever need to stay awake. Pinch yourself or someone."

Mizore looked at Gray and Voss.

"On a scale of 1 to 3. How good are your espionage and subterfuge? There's quite the knack for this Quest after all.

But no matter, you two are very crucial to this success.

Before we get started with the briefing. I'll be teaching you Stealth Magic.

And Aiko. Please stick close to the Team. I can't let you go around free, you better give me an answer than you letting it berserk.

If anyone is gonna ask where I'm at, I'll be evaluating your performance. Master told me to do so, never forget that your very fiber of every movement is a testament to your credentials if you're worthy to partake the S-Class Exams.

It's not just a title, but it's something you ought to be deserving of.

Let's be accountable to each other's actions.

Are we all clear? If so, your training starts now."

There would be clearly fake sobs as Gray watches Voss fall for Mizore's clearly fake promises. Like no one is believing you when you say you'll be getting out unharmed, that certainty, especially when it comes to her honeyed suggestions, only makes it clear that Voss wasn't listening to her intent;

'Imma put you through hell, the loot is a double helping of fighting~.'

Gray would know, given that he managed to dodge those tests last time. Don't underestimate the guild's number 1 slacker. Of course, he doubts she will now.
Speaking of...he drops the sobs as he thinks for a second.
"Pretty low scale all things considered, but...1-2 for Voss, depending on if he's using his Spirits for distractions, and 1 for me." A blatant lie on his own part.

Well mostly. Not entirely a lie if he flat out refuses to be sneaky when she wants him to...wait a minute- "Also, why am I being included in a mission with zero pay again?"

Aiko

"One unless you count what I call bloody stealth which leaves no witnesses." Aiko speaks as she crossed her arms, staring at the scabbard of her blade as shrugged the lesson. She's never been much of a mage despite joining the guild, her blade is always enough and if it wasn't it will make sure she is.

"I'll do my own training, it's not like I'll learn that magic in time." she spoke as head to a nearby empty space and start practicing her sword swings.

Akane

All in all, the guild never changed. It wasn't exactly that Akane had gotten used to the... 'energy' of the guild. But moreso that she had just accepted that this was the way things were, and adapted to it over time. The difference between that and getting used to it, was that in this case she distanced herself from the chaos a bit.

She didn't care for the bickering of the other S Class. Ifrit didn't trust her... and she really couldn't care less. She didn't need his trust, she didn't need anyone's trust. Some guilds were like family, but Fenix Tear was a bit different. She had been here since the start, and seen countless faces come and go. She had seen the faces of children whose laughter once filled the halls of the guild, grow until they couldn't even walk on their own anymore, before they disappeared forever. And these days, as far as guild members went, there weren't many memories to hold onto.

Ifrit was reliable, but that was about where her opinion of him ended. He had a tendency to take issue with others, especially those who held the rank of S Class. She had no issues with him, other than that to her his view of S Class not getting along was more of a self fulfilling prophecy, which in her eyes, more often boiled down to it not necessarily being S Class Don't Get Along... But rather, Ifrit Doesn't Get Along with other S Class. She had hoped he would warm up to others. But that had yet to happen.

Mizore on the other hand deserved no trust. The sort who whispered in everyone's ear, always pulling people this way and that way, trying to play them like the pieces of a board game. Her deception was known to Ur, and so it was known to Akane. To be honest, it was somewhat obvious. Her strategy was not to hide her actions... but rather, to wear so many masks of deception that you don't know where the real Mizore would finally end up after you removed them all. And yet, Akane still did not particularly care. The scheming of a fox who has no guile is no scheming fox at all. It's just a child playing a game they don't know the rules to. And Mizore was certainly no fox.

So perhaps it was right, that S Class didn't get along. But when there were so few, and their existence within the guild boiled down to a loyal but overly cautious 'God', a deceiver wearing a hundred different masks, and a Fox so disconnected from the others that she didn't even ultimately care about what either of them thought of her, what they were up to, or about 'trusting' them or not... certainly there was little room for 'getting along'. The only common ground they shared was they were in the same guild, and were S Class.

And so when Mizore approached her, offering to take her off on some wild adventure, Akane didn't particularly respond much to it. Even had she wanted to go, she was already set to accompany Ur to the trial of this creature. This was truly a tragedy, as choosing between going on an adventure to who knows where, and going to court, she would have certainly chosen her own third option of seeking out the place in the guild at that very moment where the most sunlight shined through the windows, at which place she would take a nap. And rest assured, it would have been a long nap, a good nap.

After all, she was so very, very tired. It wasn't as if the others could understand why. It wasn't for them to understand.

But the third option she so happily dreamed of was just that, a dream, as before she could even gather her wits, wherever she left them, they were at the Imperial Palace. A place that sickened her. Literally, she was sick to her stomach just looking at the place. She was, by her very nature, allergic to Imperial Palaces. It was a burden she could only live with, never a sickness to be cured. What did that mean? Honestly even she didn't know, it was something she made up one day and had just sort of stuck with it as an excuse as to why she could never go to this place.

And yet here she was.

Her failings were adding up today, and it was most certainly not her fault. She was being sabotaged. Was this a test? It was a particularly cruel one if so... and after dragging her here, against her will, truly an attack on her being, Ur wanted HER wisdom? Wisdom was difficult as a Fox. And so, in a flash of light, Akane was no more a Fox, but a girl half Ur's size, with a single white tail, white hair, and white Fox ears, all of which had purple markings here and there.

"A Fox who runs away, is a very clever Fox. A Fox who stands and fights... knows something you do not." Her wisdom always came in this way. But for simple human minds, she had to reword it in ways they could understand. "If they intend on pursuing the execution through the legal system, and yet the Firelord considers it of such substantial importance to attend personally... then we must consider what it is that she knows, that we do not. If she wants him dead so badly, she could simply order the execution by Imperial Mandate, and skip the legal formalities. We would not be able to fight it, there would be no case to be made, it would simply be an execution. Yet instead, they choose to make it public and formal." She then went back to her original point, as she said "A Fox who runs away, is a very clever Fox... for they know they cannot survive any other way. But a Fox who stands and fights, would only do so if they had some assurance of their own victory, that you do not yet know." There was a pause, and a deep breath, as she said "The point is, either the Firelord is assured of her victory in this case, or, having a trial for this whole situation serves a different purpose altogether."

And with that, she was back into her fox form, as it would soon be time to begin this whole... thing.

But Akane would not keep this form for long, as soon after entering the room with Aki, she would take on her larger form, becoming roughly the size of a large wolf. This would be the form she would face the Firelord in. Even if it was merely existing in some silly game of laws.

Society was dumb.
