Josh reached the door that they had entered from and was about to open it when Jinny asked him a question he didn't know how to answer. "... do you really want me to shoot people?" He small innocent voice, making him questio his demands for this little girl. 'Do I condemn this girl to a deed that literally changes who you are? Or should I take the risk and try to keep her pure of such darkness?' He had never reall thought about it before, but killing another human being was something that you can never recover from nor can you forget. In a couple or seconds Joshua was able to make an answer. "If they have a gun I want you to shoot them."

Josh opened the door and looked around the truck yard. The two trucks were still there and there was no sign of anyone else. He gave wave to Jinny saying to follow him and he walked stealthily across the yard to a fance leeding to a back yard. "Let me give yo a boost over this and I will climb over after." He said crouching down. "If we are going to stay off the streets we will have to use back yards and alleys."

Jinny followed him silently across the yard, trying to keep alert and hold the gun steady at the same time. Once they stopped at the fence, she let him boost her over. She landed safely on the other side, scanned the area and listened hard, making sure no one was coming. "Ok, Mr. Josh, we're clear..." She waited, trying to stay calm, for him to climb over.

Josh boosted Jinny up and over the fence and looked around making sure they weren't being followed and that they haven't been spotted. He heard Jinny say that the yard was clear and he turned around and lifted himself over the fence quite clumsily almost falling off the top. Once he gained his footing again on the ground he too looked around the yard, and then motioned towards the gate in thw back of the yard that lead to another yard.

Jinny nodded, and headed where he'd directed her. Her stomach was twisting with nervousness as she silently treaded the yard, keeping her eyes and ears open for any danger. This was so much scarier than sneaking food from the kitchen. She hoisted herself over the next gate, as it was locked, but low enough for her to get over with a bit of acrobatics. She planted one foot in the middle of the gate, pushed off and swung her other leg over, before landing neatly on the other side. Then she checked the hinges. They were old, and looked rusty, probably ready to creak. "This gate is noisy." She whispered to Mr. Josh, grip still careful on the gun. "Jump over, it'll be quieter."

Joshua made his was to the gate, and watched as Jinny half nimble half clumsy climbed over it. He waited a second which felt like an eternity hooeing she was okay and no one was there. Then came her small voice. "This gate is noisy. Jump over, it'll be quieter." He sighed both in relief and in exasperation. He didn't want to jump over the gate, thats what it there for to be opened. With his head still spinning and in pain Josh hoisted himself over the gate and land on his feet with a thud on the other side.

"We need to get out quick before someone finds us and so I can fix up my head better." He whispered to Jinny. He looked around and pointed down the anyway to where it lead to the road. "There next." He said. He knew that whoever it was he killed the had to live somewhere and have a car. That woyld only make sense with all the stuff in that warehouse, they just had to find it.

"Okay." Jinny continued on, but was now looking back occasionally at him, looking more worried than a little girl should. "You don't look good, Mr. Josh." She felt somehow responsible, though she hadn't been the one to hurt him. He'd saved her from some unknown fate, and she totally owed him one. She didn't know how to repay him though, besides making sure they both got out alive.

Midway through the alley, a crash and a clatter caught her attention. She froze on the spot and looked around, waiting for the source of the noise. The gun shook slightly in her hands. There was a shadow growing in the alleyway, and Jinny balked a bit, backing up in a half-scared, half-protective way, to get nearer to Josh.

The noise revealed itself to be a rather large, very bony, and absolutely mean looking dog. Some mix of Pitbull, by the look of it. It growled at the two of them, holding it's space in the alleyway.

Jinny looked nervously to Josh. "What do I do, Mr. Josh? It's a dog... he's probably hungry or something..."

Josh followed behind Jinny as they made their way through the alleyway, and couldn't help but notice that she kept looking back at him with worried eyes. Then she said.

"You dont look too good, Mr.Josh."

To which he managed a smile and whispered back. "I will be fine if we can-" he was interrupted by commotion from somewhere off to the side and behind them. Josh tightened hia grip on his knife and looked around with Jinny before his eyes came to rest on a large, bony, dog growling fiercely.

"What do I do, Mr.Josh?"

Jinny asked befor stating it was probably hungry. Josh thoight a moment. This was not good, there's only one reason that dog is alive the reason being someone owns it. They had to lose this dog quick before the owner came around to finding it. Josh reached into his pocket and pulled out the jerky from before and tossed a piece to the dog, who devoured it in a fury of teeth and growling. "You like that, huh?" He mused to the dog. "Then go get it." He tossed the rest over the fence and the dog ran and jumped over the fence leaving claw marks where he stuggled to get over. "We have to move quick before the owner of that dog comes looking." He urged Jinny, looking around to make sure that they weren't already here.

Jinny smiled as Mr. Josh used the jerky from earlier to make the dog go away. That was very smart, she'd forgotten all about the fact that they had food... she'd just sort of frozen up and not thought. With a nod, she kept on going, her eyes darting from side to side, making sure they weren't going to get taken by surprise again. Some how she knew it wouldn't be an easily distracted dog the next time.

The road was coming into view now, and it couldn't have come any sooner. Her hands on the pistol were starting to hurt, her arms too, from holding it somewhat steady while she walked. Being tough was harder than she thought it was... "We're almost there." She shot Mr. Josh a hopeful little grin.

As they walked in silence Joshua could begin to feel the sharp pain in the side of hia head begin to settle into a throb resonating through his entire head. He was atarting to feel dizzy again when Jinny said they were almost there. As they approached the road Josh looked up and down the street looking for movement but couldn't see any. What he did see made him almost start running immediately, but he held back, crouched low and drug Jinny by the arm behind a car. "Over there," he whispered very low. "In front of the red house there is a truck with a bunch of tools lying around it." He peeked over the hood of the car at the truck. "I will bet whoever is working on that truck owned the-" he was cut off by a voice from the red house.

"Where is that damn dog!" He said in an irritated tone. "Well, last time I care about him." The man started cleaning up the tools laying about.

"If we can get that truck we could speed out of here quick."

Jinny studied the red truck, thinking. It was almost a full minute before she said. "...we're gonna need the tools, too. If we get the truck we need to be able to fix it." She frowned, her little face settling into a look of concentration. "We gotta make a distraction. Not a scary one, 'cause then he'll come with a gun. Something not scary, but enough to make him go away from where he is." There was a flash of determination in her dark eyes. "I can do it. He looks mean but he probably won't shoot first at a dirty little kid with no weapon." She looked up to Mr. Josh for approval. "Right?"

Josh thought a moment about Jinny's plan as the man rounded up the tools. "There is one problem that is see." He said peeking over the car to see where the man was. "Once I you get his attention, and I get the truck." He paused wiping some blood from his temple. "How do I get you, or how do you get back to me?" It was a legitimate problem. Sure Jinny could distract the person while Josh got the truck, but once the person realizes what is happening he might just shoot the her and try to shoot Josh as well.

Jinny frowned. She hadn't thought of that at all. "Uhm... well, maybe I get the truck and you distract the guy?" She shrugged. "I know how to fix cars pretty good, and I know which pedal does what. Maybe you pretend you need help or somethin', I mean, you're already bleeding and stuff, so.. as long as you don't have a weapon maybe he'll be..." She struggled for a word. "Less wanting to shoot you?" She shrugged, wishing she could think of something better.

Joshua thought a moment over the chances they had and it seemed pretty fifty fifty. On one hand the guy could help him while Jinny took the car and parts, and on the other hand the guy might just shoot him on the spot. Either way they needed a way out of here and tthe truck would help greatly. "How about this?" He said as a thought entered his mind. "I go out and act... badly hurt and see if he is nice. If he is we can see if he will give us a lift in exchange for help?" He knew it was risky, but they needed a safer way out of town than walking.

"Okay, but... what if he isn't?" She looked worried about that plan. So far Mr. Josh had been the only the only nice person she'd met. So she was a little reluctant. "What should I do, then? Just wait? I don't want you to get hurt." He'd already gotten hurt because of her, and she didn't want that to happen again. She looked up at him with her dark, innocent gaze. "Tell me what to do."

"Hey, calm down." Joshua whispered placing a hand on Jinny's shoulder while keeping an eye on the man finishing putting the tools in the garage. "I can handle someone like him if he tries to attack me." He reassured her as he placed gis bow underneath the car the were taking shelter behind. "If I act like I am extremely hurt and didn't notice him then there are two ways this will play out: good and ugly." He looked into Jinny's eye which were sweet, deep and full of concern. "What ever happen dont come out unless I say..." he paused thinking for a moment. "Apple pie."

After makong sure Jinny understood he put his plan into motion by stumbling half clumsy half controled down the street waiting for the mans reaction. Joshua still had his pack and had stashed his combat knife in its sheath for plan B.

The man heard Joshua coming, and straightened up quickly, one hand on a pistol. He took aim at Joshua, but didn't fire. Not yet. Something wasn't quite right about the movement. "...what happened to you?" He was wondering if this was just some ploy, or if this man was truly ill. The blood on his head looked real enough, but... he'd seen plenty of ruses in his lifetime. "Get to talkin' or prepare to get shot!"

Meanwhile, Jinny stayed hidden, her dark eyes fixed on the situation, afraid to to blink. Desperately she hoped that Mr. Josh would be okay, and not get shot.

Joshua knew had to make this look as real as possible which ment acting like he was in shock and not functional. He looked over at the man not reacting to the fact a gun was pointed at him and began speaking. "Well first there was this- this- this man." He paused pointing back where they came from. "And- and he had this bat, you see." He pointed to his wound continuing to speak with a quick and shaky tone. "All I- I was doig was walkin' and, you know." He just stared through the man without talking as if recalling the incident then let his left leg give out making him fall just barley catching himself on a car.

The man watched Joshua warily as he told his story, frowning, unsure. But when Joshua nearly collapsed, he realized that if this was a ruse, it was a pretty damn good one. He quickly holstered the gun, and went to Joshua, gripping the other man's arm. "Easy, fella." He made sure Joshua made it to a sitting position, so he wouldn't be injured if he passed out. "There are some real pieces of work in this town. S'why I stay way over here, outta their way." He frowned, looking around. "I ain't no doctor, but I think you got a concussion. You ain't supposed to sleep... so don't." While he was willing to help this man, he was unsure about what he could actually do for him.

Joshua was acting dazed as the other man helped him to a sitting position and told him that he may have a concussions, and while this may be true he was dramatizing it quite a bit. As to ease the man's nerves a little he shook his head a little and replied. "I don't think so." He said slowly steadying his voice. "I think I am still in shock." He looked at the truck. 'How are we going to convince him?' He thought to himself. "Are- are you working on that?" He asked wincing a little from pain.

"Gotta do somethin'." He said with a slight shrug. For some reason, he felt tense. Like he was being watched. "Hang on." He carefully unholstered his pistol again, heading toward the area that he felt the tension increasing from. "Someone's watchin us. You try and get somewhere so you don't get shot."

Jinny backed up as the man with the gun came closer. Mr. Josh had told her not to come out until he said apple pie, but she was getting scared. She didn't want to get hurt. She kept on backing, and was probably making even more noise.
