Is Spam like it's own insular RP section?

Like I see lot's of stories, and interesting forum games, and you all seem to know / hate each other.

I've been reading spam threads for like the last 2 hours and I can't make heads or tails of it.

The title of the section says it all, really.

Yes. Spam is a sub forum distinct from other sub forums on this site in both character and purpose.

It starts as a "miscellaneous" bin for the guild. Forum games and topics without a necessary structure. Over the years, people started regularing Spam and a sort of community was made of people who post often. It's not closed off to other (although it can seem that way). Think of it as a large group of friends. Not everyone likes everyone else, but they are all clustered together along with their own inside jokes and stories.

You know that's really cool, it's nice that people can and together like that. Kind of heart warming really.

This is the best way to phrase it.

Spam isn't really a 'warm and fuzzy' place, just a fair warning.
That said -- if you can appreciate heavy doses of sarcasm, and don't mind people ribbing you occasionally, then you'll do fine here.

By lurking the past two hours, I think he is far more prepared then most. It's nice to meet you Prentice.

Accurate... Though it's not an RP section, it is just a section for more miscellaneous things like Tollner said.

Nope. Most members are mutual. There are some smaller groups here like anywhere else that really are good friends and such and a few members here and there that completely hate one another though in the end, whether we like it or not, we all live here and must both accept and deal with each other's presence.

Still though the majority of the members are rather nice once you get to know them. :)

We're a very dysfunctional community and a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

To be fair, I was totally expecting for people to tell me to get out, and "who the hell are you?!"

I just like seeing the best in people. ^.^

Entirely true. Those who lurk first do seem to fare better when attempting to integrate themselves into Spam, rather than those who jump right in with randomness and/or shitposting. (Which generally only serves to set them off on the wrong foot with the majority of regulars...)

Well, the "who the hell are you?!" still applies, just not necessarily in a negative way.

You're already off to a good start, especially since you looked before you decided to leap. This is how you survive wars.

Like E-ietnam.

Yeah the initiation/barrier to entry doesn't get everyone, but it can sneak up on you when you're least suspecting it.

I really like your attitude though, it's refreshing. Let's see how things go from here.
