As Seishu sat up, the guardian started to say something along the lines of 'Careful, don't hurt yourself.' But he held his tongue and kept silent. The last thing he needed was to worry about the guardian's health, all the worrying was probably bad for Enasi's health anyway. And it's not like he wanted to worry about him, but that wasn't too much in his control. Both options only made him sigh. "So. They're either a rescue party, or an assassination team. And the chances are 50/50." This still didn't set him at ease. What if it was an assassination team? Then they'd probably murder everyone-his minions- in their way. But if it was a rescue party, there would still be the possibility of then hurting someone. The poor Dream Guardian heard of such terrible acts before, but never did he think he'd have to live through it. But being nearly immortal, having something drastic like this was surely inevitable.

With the new found information on how to stop them, he stood and put his hand up in order for him to take a quick pause. Enasi leaned his head outside and whistled. The pattering of feet could be heard, but whom they belonged to was unseen by Seishu. Muffled words were exchanged and then the sound of running could be heard. The guardian returned for him to continue on about option two. His eyes focused on the compact energy when it began to shape into a solid form. Admittedly, he was in slight awe about the oddly colored yet pretty flowers. He'd never seen anything like it, but as Seishu explained, there was a reason why. He gently took the flowers and held them carefully, examining them even more. Realizing Seishu was still talking, Enasi focused once more. "Alright. I understand. But I still don't know how far your minions are into breaking through. It's not easy you know. It could take another few hours or it could take another few days." Thinking that was it, he stood. When Seishu slipped in the last comment, he rolled his eyes. He didn't attempt a comeback, instead he walked toward the door.

"I guess I'll be out near the rift then and...wait." He didn't sound too pleased about it, mainly because it sounded extremely boring, especially with the thought of being out there for hours. Suddenly, an agile and quick energy rushed toward the door. "You needed me?" It was Harper, who didn't seem to have broken a sweat. "You're really fast. Weren't you outside?" Harper only grinned proudly and pointed to his rabbit feet. They did help him, and he knew he was probably the fastest in the dream realm. The door drifted open fully, giving Harper a full view of the Nightmare Guardian. Unlike other dreams, he didn't immediately tense up. Fear couldn't be sensed. Harper kept his focus on his own guardian as he began to speak. "Alright, so change of plans. We have to move everyone back. Seishu here says that your fight may just be a distraction, and whoever is in control now will try to sneak around you." That's when Harper made eye contact with the other guardian. The rabbit noticed how casually Enasi said his name, but didn't think too much of it. "Are you sure?" Harper's question only further proved Seishu's comment, yet Enasi kept a straight face. "I am. So move quickly, and hide. I'll be there soon." With a nod, the general ran off to go inform his underlings.

"Uh...Try- yeah." Enasi suddenly lost his voice with Seishu and couldn't think of anything to say. He didn't know why, but Enasi had better things to ponder over. Walking out, he spotted Rue trying to look inconspicuous by helping one of the servants carry towels. "You can go back in there." As much as he didn't approve, Rue was bound to sneak in anyway- and the kid was happy near the his counterpart. "I'm sure he could use some company." This made the little dream grin and nod. Enasi made his way toward the rift, hoping that the nightmares would actually want their king instead of wanting to kill him.

Seishu chuckles as the Dream Guardian rolls his eyes at him. 'He can't exactly deny it though' His eyes narrow as the light from outside the door fall across his bed. 'Why do they insist on everything being so bright. We never get more and moonlight, and we see just fine. They move around on earth at night just like we do, and I've never seen them having trouble with the darkness. . . .' The Nightmare Guardian bellyaches to himself for a few seconds, ignoring the interplay of master and servant just outside his door. However the creek of the door opening further draws his gaze to the one talking to his counterpart. Sensing no negative emotions from the beast other than a faint distaste Seishu smirks internally. 'Looks like Hops has some guts. From what I've seen in battle, gutsy individuals exists here, but they are so rare. Most are scared out of their wits while they are fighting. It's quite a feast' He listens carefully to Enasi to make sure he relays what needs to be said.

When the anthropomorphic rabbit looks towards him and questions his masters orders Seishu can not help but chuckle again. His counterpart seemingly ignores his mirth and once again orders the white rabbit off to the battlefield. The injured Guardian's brows furrow as his counterpart seems at a loss for words. 'Well that's new. He's always had a quip or jab whenever we've met during battle. Somethings changing in him' Moments later when the little fairy boy comes charging back in with a grin from ear to ear Seishu lets out a small “Hah.” and thinks 'He's not the only one. But at least with me I can blame the drugs. And who knows, it could just be the drugs' Rue looks at him quizzically and pushes the rolling chair close to the bed before hopping into it. The chair spins a few times until at last he manages to settle it facing the Nightmare Guardian.

Tucking his legs in Rue asks, “What's so funny Mister?”

Seishu shakes his head. “Nothing Little Bite, I'm just become more and more sure that these drugs are going to be very detrimental to my image around here.”

His head tilts to the side. “Drugs? You mean the medicines they gave you for your injuries?” Seishu nods and Rue's brows furrow in confusions. “What do they have to do with your reputation?”

Seishu raises an eyebrow. “Are you even remotely afraid of me right now?” Rue seems to think about it hard for several seconds before shrugging. The Guardian sighs. “Exactly. I'm feeling so good off these meds that I’ve lost my scary factor.” Rue shrugs again and smiles.

“I think you'll be scary again when you get your strength back Mister.” Rolling his eyes at the vote of confidence Seishu looks away and lets out another sigh.

____*____

His gaze shifts around as yet another Nightmare stumbles into their make shift camp. Deep in the moonlit woods, where the two worlds come together, the last supporters of the fallen monarch gather. The camp is quite, the feelings very subdued. At first there had been confusion, no one could find Master Seishu. Then Gin had announced his triumph and flows off towards the palace before anyone could question him. The minion looks down at his hands as he recalls the first sweep. There have been a few since their return to their own realm, but the first had defiantly been the worst. Those most powerful who were loyal to the “New Master” had gone out in teams, sweeping the landscape for those who refuse to acknowledge Gin as their leader.

He hands shake as his mind calls up the smell of blood from the still injured minions and nightmares fighting valiantly to protect their faith. 'How can this be? There is no doubt now, Master Seishu is still alive. But what are we going to do? We can't bring him here to camp. Even though Gin has tried to take the throne, and will eventually gain it fully if we don't do anything, everyone who dwells in this realm would be able to tell where Master Seishu is. . . .' The violet haired minion hangs his head, cursing aloud. His small figure is deceptive. Kaila is one of the oldest servants of Master Seishu. He admires the Nightmare Guardian greatly, even keeping his hair in the same style as his master in his honor. Seishu had tried on several occasions to get Kaila to change it, but to no avail.

'And that's something I will always love about Master Seishu. He gives us choice. Gin has always been so hard, an inflexible. Sure, this made him a great soldier, but. . .' Kaila's eyes are brought up by the sound of a great energy cracking. Is eyes narrow as the rift begins to splinter ever so slightly. Before the great wall a large number of nightmares and minions stand shoulder to shoulder. Each one with it's fore limbs or horns or whatever appendage they channel their energy through pointed towards the glowing wall. Coming to his feet Kaila walks towards the group. It had taken several hours to get the barrier to splinter, but that is far faster than they had all expected. A faint smile passes briefly across the minion's face. 'I'll take this as a testament to how much we long to see our true leader again.'

His eyes narrow to the spot where all the energies are being concentrated. 'It's time' Raising a hand, Kaila begins drawing energy into his palm. He pours in more and more, his own energy making his arm ache slightly. When he's sure it's enough he calls out, “Aside!” and as one the nightmares and minions split down the middle. The path between him and the barrier now open Kaila closes his fist around the energy. The blazing deep purple light fires out of either side of his clenches fist into the shape of a sword. His hand holding tight to the hilt of the energy blade he charges forward. Those gathered around act on their orders given before the project began and Kaila holds back a scream as they fire their energy at him. The pain is great, but necessary, and with an almighty slash the splintered wall cracks open. Kaila stands before the breach, barely large enough for three to walk side by side, and not even eight feet high. His stomach drops a bit at the sight of the cheery looking sunshine beyond the gap at the end of a relatively short tunnel. Those who had been selected for the trip to the other side gather around Kaila, and as soon as he catches his breath he vanishes his sword and they all pass into the tunnel to world that holds their beloved master.

By the time Enasi had made it to the field, the clearing was empty. He could still feel the energies of the soldiers farther back. They were at a safe distance away to not be a threat, but then they were kind of far...just in case he was attacked. Harper was the only to notice, or more rather, the only to not trust such a distance and he was by the Guardian's side once more. It was a true testament to his role as second in command, and Enasi couldn't argue with it. "So...Further explain this Seishu business." Harper said the his name and shuddered lightly; not in fear, but in distaste. Quizzically, the guardian responded. "What are you talking about?" The rabbit further explained. "I have no doubts in your faith Enasi, but to trust a nightmare- the guardian at that, is dangerous. I just don't want you getting hurt. You're a beloved king, and no one here wants you dead... Unlike your nightmare friend over there." Enasi mulled over his friend's words and then nodded. "I understand where you stand and believe me, I'd much rather have things go back the way they were," Well. . . At least stopping the war part... "But as everything happens now, I have no choice. Balance is the main priority, and you already know that-" "I know, I know. To keep balance the both of you have to be alive. I understand, Ensy" The guardian laughed lightly at the nickname he was given. The nickname had started by a good friend that visited every so often. Neither dream or nightmare, but a friend nonetheless- but that was irrelevant now. Knowing the guardian was probably stressed as it was, it didn't hurt to calm him some.

"So what do you think? Heh, we'll make a bet okay? Friend or Foe? Which will come out of the rift?" It wasn't really time for games obviously with the situation so serious, but having a guardian with powers focused on the brighter side of things being unhappy was a problem no one wanted. "I think it'll be a friend." That was Enasi's optimism speaking though. He looked down at the lovely flower in his hand added on. "We'll see once I give this flower to the first that comes out of that rift." Harper was about to protest about getting too close, but he knew that wouldn't work. "Fine. If I win and it is a foe, I get the right to say 'I told you so'. If you win... I'll think a little more of those nightmares." The guardian laughed and shook hands with him. "Fine." His head turned as the rift began to crack. "It looks like we'll be seeing who won soon enough." Harper reached for his weapon, but was stopped by the guardian. "Peace. And you have to stay right here. Do not move until I say so. Even if they look like they're about to attack, do not move." It was obvious in Harper's eyes that the command conflicted with his instinct and morals, but he nodded. He had to trust the guardian if he wanted everyone to survive.

The guardian breathed out a heavy sigh and walk toward the rift. Little by little the rift opened with Enasi watching every moment. He was still in simplistic clothing, being jeans and a one of the various hoodies he had. No one understood why he wore such earthly clothing, but they accepted it nonetheless. His eyes went down to the flower he had cupped in his hands gently. He didn't want any damage to come of it, not just because of its importance, but because of the beauty of it as well...even if it game from his counterpart. "Be careful..." Harper warned, only getting a nod from the guardian.

Soon enough, figures all laced with negative energy began to emerge from the rift. There was definitely more than two of the nightmares... Making it harder to decide if they were friends or foes, but Enasi held his ground and waited for them to approach.

The darkness clad minions take a moment to let their eyes adjust as they reach the other side of the tunnel. As one they notice the approaching figure and turn to look at it. The two in the back, taller than the others, draw their weapons simultaneously. The naginata blades gleam brightly in the sunlight but their wielders simply stand at the ready, weapons pointed at the hoodie clad figure. Kaila's gaze travels past the human looking one to a rabbit looking fellow who seems more than ready to attack the small group. 'Seems like that one is ready for a fight' His eyes travel back to the plain clothes man and his brows furrow ever so slightly. 'This one looks familiar. From his dress, I'd say human, but that energy coming off of him. It's as strong as Master Seishu, but completely different' He feels his jaw tighten as he whispers “Enasi.” to his men. They all tense but none draw on the Dream Guardian. They had agreed before coming to find their Master with as little loss of life as possible.

'That is how Master Seishu would have wanted it' Kaila thinks fondly, his eyes locked now with all the others' upon the approaching Guardian. The party chosen to pass through the gate were hand picked years ago by Kaila to be his own personal unit, so not only will they follow orders from him without question, he can control all their movements with barely perceptible signals. At a tilt of his head he orders them to stay put, and with his hands in his pockets he takes a few slow paces towards Enasi. 'From his speed and stance, he's not coming to attack. However if he just orders us away it will take all of my men to distract him so I can go look for Master Seishu' coming to a halt he casts his senses about, being careful to make sure the energies are non hostile. 'Master Seishu is here, but just out of sight I can also sense an entire host of these sparklers. I don't think I could make it through all of them. . .' Relaxing his demeanor he waits patiently for the hoodie clad man to approach as far as he wishes. His eyes remain locked on the man's face and he uses all his willpower not to gag at the amount of positive energy coming off of him.

Seishu pauses in his description of his favorite lake in the Nightmare realm and the little dream minion stares openly at his face with a quizzical look creasing his features. “What's wrong mister? You hurting again? I ca-”

“Shush!” the Nightmare Guardian snaps more harshly than he intended. Rue falls back into his chair and clamps a hand almost shamefully over his mouth. His eyebrows draw in close as he concentrates on the feeling of a sudden shift in the dream realm energies. 'They're here, I can feel them. If I wasn’t so weak I could even pick out just who came through!' He lets out a growl of frustration, but the growl turns to a smirk as he realizes he has a pretty good idea of the size of the group. 'It's small, contained, close. It hasn't scattered, so most likely not a raiding party. That's good' Relaxing he looks over at the little minion and rolls his eyes as he is now comically grasping his face with both hands. “You can talk now Little Bite. I just wanted to get a feel for my guys who just managed to make their way through the veil.”

Rue lets out an exaggerated gush of air before drawing in a real gasp. “You mean they're here already? Didn't Enasi say that it could take a long time? And even you said you couldn't be sure.” He pauses as Seishu holds up a hand for a pause. Rue learns quickly and it actually makes him happy that the Nightmare Guardian shushes him with a raised hand rather than telling him outright, or overriding him like most do.

With a nod the Guardian draws into a look of contemplation. “It's true, it could have taken a while, but I think the expedience of their breakthrough coupled with what I sense as a very small group means that they are very likely not here to attack, but to rescue me.”

Rue perks up happily for a moment. “That's good right, 'cause it'd be better for you over there! And. . .” His voice dies and his wings droop as a crestfallen look comes over the little dream minion. “But, you can't go back. It's too dangerous over there. . . .” He perks up again, but only slightly and with a honest grin he concludes, “But I guess it's good this way too because I can hear more about the nightmare realm and spend more time with you mister!” Seishu remains silent and just stares blankly back at his grinning face.

The Dream Guardian watched them approach, seeing their weapons and all. Instead of tensing at the sight, the dreamer turned to Harper. His eyes narrowed. 'Calm down Harper before you mess things up. . .' The look seemed to make it to the rabbit, and he quickly straightened up, removing his hands from his weapons. The rabbit still watched carefully, but he kept his paws crossed. Enasi sighed and turned back to the small group of nightmares, seeing one approaching forward.

This one had a similar hair style- well overall style of Seishu which peaked his curiosity, but of course there was nothing he said about it. In fact, Enasi didn't say a word as of yet. He took a few more steps forward but paused to lower his own positive energy. They were in a mental agreement that neither wanted to over power the other's energy, even though Enasi could possibly do that in an instance. By now, there was only a few feet in between Enasi and the leader of the nightmare pack.

"If it's not obvious of who I am, I am the Dream Guardian. Enasi." That's how he started. The dreamer looked down to his cupped hands before continuing. "Your Guardian, Seishu is safe in our medical facility. Do not worry, I wouldn't try to kill him. He's already been hurt quite enough..." Slowly, he raised his hands up and toward the nightmare in charge. "Seishu- er, your guardian told me to give you this." His hands opened to reveal the perfectly in tact flower. It took a lot of will power not to mess up the flower with his own energy. "He also said, Go home for now." When, or if, the nightmare took the flower, Enasi would nod and step back.

"Once again, I reassure you he is safe in my home. His treatment is much slower due to the lack of resources, but he'll heal soon enough." Enasi didn't think he'd have to explain why he couldn't be treated in his own realm. It seemed obvious enough. There was nothing else the dreamer had to say, so he only stood and waited for a response.

Harper was still in the background, carefully watching for any sudden moves. With his large ears, he could hear what was going on, so it eased him a little. So far, so good Harper's arms stayed crossed so he wouldn't reach for his weapon. It wasn't necessary. And he trusted his guardian. Enasi knew what he was doing. ...He had to...

Those waiting behind Kaila keep their eyes locked on the Guardian but hold their ground. One of them shifts from one foot to the other when Enasi stops, but other than that they are all completely still. Kaila relaxes ever so slightly when he feels the oppressive energy pull back and gives the Dream Guardian a very slight nod of thanks. However he can't suppress a rolling of the eyes when he states the obvious. He can almost feel the sentiment echoed in the other minions but clamps down on his tongue. 'So do not need to die here because of my smart mouth. Master Seishu may have been able to shoot his mouth off to this guy, but I. . . . .' His thoughts trail off as the Guardian continues. A spike of joy runs through him and he can feel tears of joy at the thought of their leader being alive, and not only that, cared for. His joy swings over into pain at the Guardian words as his voice trails off.

The other minions all shift slightly, their upset evident in their eyes only. However they all gasp as one at the sight of their master's precious flower cupped in Enasi's hands. Kaila's hand drifts up, his heart in his throat, it hovers over the flower for several seconds. A pain races through him at the order to retreat, but he tries to not let it show. Gentle as a breath he scoops up the flower into his hand, the backs of his fingers brushing the others palm ever so slightly with the action. When the Guardian steps back Kaila draws the flower close against his chest, but is careful not to crush it. His free hand drops to his side and with a twist of his wrist he orders weapons away.

Without hesitation the naginata vanish from sight and the nightmare minions relax. 'Master Seishu is safe, and being taken care of. This one, he seems almost as if he feels bad for our master. He would not have trusted this to Enasi if he didn't trust the man' He looks back up at Enasi and takes a calming breath before replying. “We will honor the order to withdraw.” As he turns to re turn to the others he pauses. Turned half away from the Guardian Kaila's hair falls about his face as he drops it a bit. He takes another deep breath. “Please, tell him. . . Tell him we fight. We will never stop fighting for our one true Master.” He can not hold back a tear as he turns so that Enasi can see his eyes, and know his resolve. “Tell him Kaila says this, so it must be true. He'll get it. . . .” With a faint smirk Kaila turns, his cape flaring out to billow behind him as he stalks back to the group. As one they part to let him pass, turning to follow him in perfect tandem.

Once through to the other side Kaila holds up the flower for all to see. Several of those gathered give out a cry of joy and triumph, while other break down in tears. Calling above the noise, they all fall silent quickly to hear what he has to say. “We have to withdraw from here so the veil can close back up quickly. We don't want the traitors to find this and use it to try and hurt Master Seishu.” There is a general murmur of agreement but he holds up his free hand for silence. “We will leave a detachment here to make sure the opening is guarded until it closes, but the rest of us should move to a new camp. Let's get it done, for Master Seishu!” The crown echoes the cry and with a snap of his fingers, they all get to work. A group of ten move close to the opening, weapons at the ready, and the rest of the camp begins the tear down. With a sigh Kaila brings the flower up to his lips, pressing them together for a moment. 'Just wait Master Seishu, we'll get this mess cleaned up for you before you get back' With a nod, he slips the flower into his chest pocket and begins helping the others with the packing.

Having been paying only half attention to the chattering minion Seishu jumps when Rue's face suddenly appears directly in front of his. Despite the minions relatively small amount of power the shock of the proximity isn't lost on his wounds and Seishu lets out a groan as they throb. “Rue, yes, I wasn't paying attention, but did you really forget that you hurt me when you get his close?” With a small yipe Rue backs off, fluttering back to his chair where he tucks his knees under his chin.

“Sorry mister, I keep forgetting. I was just wondering if you're okay because you seem kinda not here.” True concern colors the boy's ramblings and Seishu holds up a hand.

“Yeah, I'm fine, considering, I was just trying to keep track of the meeting.” Casting his senses back out towards the rift he lets out a sigh when he feels the negative energy of his minions vanish. “They seem to have gone home. I'm glad, there didn't seem to be any fighting either.” Seishu smiles and takes a deep breath.

“Well, that's good, because you said you don't want any of them hurt, and if they tried to fight Lord Enasi, they'd most likely have died, and that would be really bad, hey are you okay?” Rue's ramblings are cut short by a sharp breath from the Nightmare Guardian.

Seishu rolls his eyes. “Yeah, I'll live, but how about you go hunt down one of those doctors to administer some more drugs. I think this dose is wearing off.” Rue nod vigorously before darting out of the room to find a dream medic. Shifting a little to be a bit more comfortable against the headboard he lets his mind drift a bit, doing his best not to think about anything for a while.

It was as if he was waiting for judgement day. The guardian held his breath dramatically as he waited for the nightmare to respond. As he did, his energy lowered even more. The anticipation of figuring out his decision was was making him anxious. But he refrained from being 'unprofessional'. Until the minion said they would withdraw. A sigh of relief escaped Enasi and he held a large grin. "Wonderful! I do appreciate the understanding." He breathed another sigh in order to calm himself before his energies rose too high for the nightmares.

"Do not worry. I will relay the message as soon as I get home." The guardian felt countless waves of relief as they started to leave. The minion, Kaila, had so much spirit and passion toward his guardian. He kind of reminds me of Harper. Enasi giggled at the odd thought and then turned to walk to his own second in command. "Heh, you were saying?" The guardian grinned playfully as he Harper turned to follow him to the castle. "Alright, Alright. Not all of them are monsters. Just a good amount." While standing there and listening, Harper too was relieved that his guardian was safe. "I'll have a squad stick around until the rift closes completely. Just in case some of them decide to sneak back in." This caused the guardian to frown. Harper put his hands up defensively. "I know, I know. I promised to think more of them... But this is precaution."

"Do what you must Harper. I have a message to relay." The rabbit nodded and turned to gather his men. As he left, Enasi realized he had a lot of pent up energy due to having Seishu around then the nightmares showing up. "Sheesh...I'm going to explode like this..." He stretched and a wave of energy spread around him. With all that was going on he could've screamed to the heavens, or even collapsed from exasperation. An injured Guardian and a minion that was trying to take over a realm. It wasn't suppose to happen like this. They had agreed to peace, and it should've stayed like that.
Those waves of energy Enasi was causing spread throughout the realm. At first it was just to calm himself and then it continued due to him worrying and becoming anxious towards what would happen next. The energy didn't depict the emotions at play unless one was keen to the energies- or knew him well enough to know.

A doctor going to treat one of the patients looked up from his work. The sudden wave of positive energies helped the patients, but he then recalled that the Nightmare Guardian was residing there. Because the medics were ordered to take care of him, they rushed to his aid as the waves happened.

--

Harper had gotten a small squad together and gave them their directions. Of course Harper felt the energy influx but he didn't rush to the guardian's aid. The rabbit decided to just let him burn off steam.
Just as Enasi's minor anxiety attack happened, it disappeared as if nothing happened. After the short intermission, Enasi continued home. He noticed a few doctors rushing toward Seishu's room and then realized he may have hurt the guardian even more. "S-Sorry Seishu." He started as he entered the room, moving out of the way and watching a doctor give Seishu drugs.

Still lost in thought all of his defenses are down when the wave hits. The amount of positive energy and the torrent of emotions behind it draw a scream from Seishu. His scream is short but piercing, causing Rue to do a U-turn in mid air and rush back to his room. He rushes to the Nightmare Guardian's bedside but is careful to not get too close. Seishu gasps for breath and as if all the time they'd spent getting along had never happened he lashes out at the boy blindly. Rue cries out and darts back against the wall beside the door and curls up, a stream of apologies tumbling from his lips. The pain killers had definitely worn off, but deep inside he can feel himself cursing at his action against the little one. His rational mind is overridden though and when the doctors come rushing in to help him he lets out a fierce snarl and puts back up his barrier.

'I have to stop, I have to calm down. My stitches, I can feel them tearing. I'm going to get blood on my new clean bed' With a whimper he falls back gasping, his anger still tearing through his system. However his strike at Rue had drained most of his energy and after a few seconds his barrier goes back down. After a few more seconds the team moves forward and begins fixing him up. He snaps once in a while, vulgarities pouring from his sharp tongue. The doctors give him disapproving looks but say nothing. After a little while Rue picks himself up and scoots up next to the bed. A tall sheep like doctor looks down at him. “You shouldn't be here kid. It's dangerous, scoot.” he says, but Rue shakes his head hard and clings to the edge of the bed.

As the doctor tries to remove him forcibly Seishu lets out a hiss. The sheep doctor looks over for a moment at the patient and freezes at the look Seishu is giving him. His hands relax and Rue props himself against the edge of the bed again. 'He shouldn't want to stay, the little sparkler, but no one messes with. . . . .' The Nightmare Guardian’s thoughts trail off as he tries to figure out just what the boy is to him. 'He's not mine, he's not a friend, he's not a pet, he's not one of my subjects. . . I really should make him go. He needs to get that burn treated' His snaps and snarls subside as he feels a needle inserted into his arm and the pain begins to fade. As it does, his mind begins to work properly again.

He gazes over at Rue, the faint pink of the burn on his right cheek making the guardian flinch slightly. Looking into his eyes, Rue seems to understand how he feels and smiles. A few moments later the door opens. A second needle sinks into his arm and the pain fades almost completely which is how Seishu can tell that his new anger at the one who walks in is entirely different from the usual irrational fury he seems to have while residing in the dream world. 'Somehow this feels more justified than what I was feeling a little while ago. . . .' He lets out a growl, glaring at Enasi. “Sorry? I'm not the one you should say sorry to you forgetful little. . .” His throat rumbles again and he reaches out towards Rue.

His power depleted, his touch feels like nothing but bare skin to the little minion as Seishu presses a finger gently under his chin, forcing him to turn his head towards Enasi. Rue realizes what he's doing and too late turns his head away from the Dream Guardian. “I'm okay, it was an accident, I'm not mad. . . .” Rue mutters covering his cheek with his hand. A few of the doctors give the boy incredulous looks and a few scoff, rolling their eyes at his statement. However a quick glance at Seishu's scowling face shuts them up. Rue's fists curl once again around the sheets at the edge of the bed and he stands stiff, unwilling to back away.

For some reason, the anger in Seishu's tone felt a lot more...well hostile, as if he actually had a reason to be upset. Which, he did, thanks to Enasi's carelessness. Though in his defense, normally when he'd do that, no one got hurt. He was used to the venomous words, so he stood quietly and let the ring out from the other guardian. But when his voice trailed off, Enasi's eyes followed Seishu's hand. What was he doing? When the guardian touched Rue, he noticed he didn't flinch away. Seishu was probably out of energy to hurt him anyway...

The shock he received from looking at Rue's cheek made him gasp softly. The little minion had been hurt. There was no use pointing fingers or asking how it happened because in the end it would boil down to it being his own fault. He hurt one of his minions...
Enasi stepped forward, closer to Rue to see the wound, but for some reason the small fairy shied away. This made the dreamer stop in his tracks. "Rue..." His voice was soft as he started. "I-..." Well now he felt worse about the situation, which only added onto his stress of...well, life. "I apologize...I really do- I didn't mean to get you hurt."

"I'm okay, it was an accident, I'm not mad..." Rue repeated, though he did try to sound reassuring. Even if the kid was forgiving, Enasi wasn't going to take his own actions lightly. The guardian was hesitant to approach him after he backed away from him. It hurt not only because he backed away, but he moved closer to the bed. Closer to Seishu... "Continue treating him... And Rue." Enasi said before turning to the door. The emotional guardian was feeling pretty terrible at the moment, and being ridiculed by Seishu was the last thing he wanted to hear.

"Oh," The guardian turned to look at his counterpart again, although he couldn't seem to keep eye contact. "Your message: 'Tell him we fight. We will never stop fighting for our one true Master.' A...nightmare by the name of Kaila said this." With a nod and not a word more, he left the room. To him, he wasn't needed in there anymore, nor was he necessarily wanted in the room. Enasi had hurt two people he wasn't suppose to. The guardian, and one of his own. The day was going into such a disaster! Even though, he was probably overreacting and really sensitive...a conclusion he'd never get to.

The doctors watched their guardian leave out in a small state of shock. Lord Enasi was...upset. That was rare for them to ever see. His radiant energy levels dropped and even that felt pretty somber. None knew what to say, so instead they continued to their jobs. "Rue." The sheep-like doctor called the child and went to attend to his wound before it left a nasty scar, but seeing that it was a mark from the Nightmare Guardian, it was more than likely going to leave a scar.

*

Harper nearly ran into the Dream Guardian as he raced around to find him. Because Seishu was ready weak, he could barely feel the influx that occurred...but knew something happened. "Sir! The rift is clos- What's wrong? What happened??" The rabbit looked at his Guardian with a slight frown. He looked awful compared to his over zealous spirited ways. The guardian continued on past him, in his own thoughts.

The look on Enasi's face when he gets a look at the burn on Rue's cheek brings a faint grin to the Nightmare Guardian's face. 'Yeah, he should feel bad. Being so upbeat all the time is no way to live. If you don't get a hard knock every once in a while, then you never appreciate what you have like you should' When Rue moves closer to him Seishu's smile fades, not really in the mood to gloat at this point. He's content that the other guardian learned his lesson. His eyes watch the guardian closely as he stutters out apologies, looking very stricken. He can feel fain pulses of unease in his midsection which brings his free hand to press over the spot. 'Y'know, it kinda sucks that the only one I can't feed off of is the one giving out such strong waves right now. I mean, the nervous doctors are helping, heck, even the pain from Rue's burn, but. . . . .Enasi. . . . .'

He holds his tongue as the man backs away, the emotions coming off of him so strong that they still pulsate against his stomach wound, and perhaps a little deeper. A very kind expression comes to his face as Enasi relays his message. 'So it was Kaila. . . .I am so glad he's still alive. I'm sure he's at the top of the list for those loyal to me who need to die. I bet it was kinda weird for Enasi to see a mini me come through the rift' He mentally shrugs. 'Though he may not have noticed at all that Kaila is a little obsessed with copying me. He's a little air-headed like that'

To his left Rue climbs on to the bed, turning away from Seishu so the doctor can treat his burn. Unsure of how much positive energy he can use around the Nightmare Guardian the sheep doctor chews his lip as he works. Behind Rue he can see the monster flinch every time he reaches a halfway decent level of energy to treat his little patient. Looking into the little fairy's eyes he pleads, “Rue, it would be better if I treated you in another room. I can't bring my power up too high around here, and if I don't use more, you'll scar. Now you don't want a horrible scar marring your face, do you?” The slightly condescending tone does nothing to convince Rue to move.

Behind him Seishu pipes up, “C'mon Little Bite. He's right.” Rue looks over his shoulder at the reclined man. “It's gonna scar if you don't treat it with top quality sickening bright white happy goo.”

Chuckling at the Nightmare Guardian's description of positive energy, earning him a few more odd looks from the surrounding doctors, Rue shakes his head. “I know, and I don't mind!” Now all present are staring at him disbelievingly. The little one adopts a serious look on his face, turning to face Seishu better. “Once you're up and about I'll have to be even more careful around you, and you said scars act as reminders.” His hand reaches up to touch his wound, a faintly happy look crossing his eyes for an instant. “And this will do just that.” Sitting up straighter he crosses his arms and pretends to look down upon Seishu. “It will remind me you are an evil dark pit, the root of all that its black and ugly in the worlds, and I should watch my steps in you fearsome presence!” With that declarative he turns his back on the guardian. The room is still for several seconds,t he doctors on edge, fear for their safety reaching an all time high after the little one's insults to the injured guardian.

However the silence is eventually broken as Seishu begins chuckling. Quietly at first, then louder until he's clutching his stomach to keep his new stitches from ripping further. Rue too disolves into a fit of giggles and the combined mirth dispels the tension. Looking over Rue's shoulder to the sheep doctor, a tear making its way out amongst all the laughter, Seishu waves a hand. “You heard the kid, he wants a scar. Let the Little Bite have it.” He chuckles turn to groans at the ones working on his shoulder pull his arm back down for better access. His eyes flutter close as Rue looks up at the doctor expectantly. Suppressing a groan of his own the sheep man does his best, but like the boy wanted he ends up leaving behind a fairly long white scar. Stretching from ear, across the cheek, to the edge of his chin the white line is noticeable, but not horrible. When the doctor says he's done Rue flutters over to a mirror in the corner of the room and looks it over.

Satisfied he flutters back over to the beds and catches Seishu's attention by bouncing the bed slightly. His eyes crack open and he gives the boy a thumbs up. “Looks good on you Little Bite.” With a sigh he closes his eyes and hums slightly, his brows furrowing. Rue grins wide and props his head up on his hands to watch the doctors work. After a few minutes a faint flux of negative energy acts almost as a cue and all but the little fairy leave the room. There is silence between the two occupants for some time after the door closes. Rue is hesitant to speak up in case Seishu has fallen asleep but just as he folds his arms down on the bed so he can rest a bit himself Seishu speaks. “You should go to him Little Bite. I. . . .I can still feel him from here and if he doesn't cheer up things are going to get dark around here.”

Rue pops up. He too can feel how jumbled his lord's energies are, but somehow he knows what he feels and what Seishu feels is very different. “But, I told him I'm not mad, and it's not like there aren't others who can help him.” He hangs his head a bit, pouting slightly because the guardian hasn't opened his eyes yet. “I'm the only one here who doesn't wanna run away from you. You're all alone and that. . . . .” His voice trails off as Seishu holds up a hand.

“Go on Little Bite. He needs you right now. Don't ask me how I know. It's a guardian thing.” Cracking open and eye he adds with a smirk, “And once he's feeling better tell him to stop doing my job for me.” With that he closes his eye and relaxes into the bed. A cloud of energy begins tumbling off of him and Rue backs off.

Letting the Nightmare Guardian heal Rue backs out of the room, closing the door softly behind him. He begins walking slowly down the hall towards where he can feel Enasi is. 'I guess he's right. I could tell what happened hurt him a lot. . .I guess it's partially my fault too, I should have been more concerned with Lord Enasi when I felt him upset' His pace speeds up and soon his feet are off the ground as he flutters down the hallways of the large palace. 'But, I'm not wrong, Mister Seishu is all alone here, and he looked sooo happy just hearing that one of his minions was here and worried about him earlier. He sounded so loyal to Mister too. . . .' Almost like a rainbow bullet he takes corners at breakneck speed until he spies Enasi in the distance. 'I should be just as loyal to my own lord. Mister was right, I should have talked to Lord Enasi earlier' Swallowing hard he slows just in time to not slam into Enasi. Instead he runs into him gently, wrapping his arms around the guardian's middle. “I'm sorry Lord Enasi, I'm really not mad and I don't blame you!” Burying his face against Enasi's chest he starts sobbing quietly.

"Sir? You're going to hurt someone, or yourself for that matter. What happened? Your energy levels are low..." Enasi turned on his toes and looked at the rabbit, who was a little taller than him...not including the ears. "Harper, you're a very persistent one you know? I do appreciate your concern, but I don't wish to talk about it. You're wasting your breath." Harper visibly frowned, but stubbornly followed the Guardian. "You're not getting anywhere following me like a puppy." Harper hopped in front of him and lowered his ears.

This only made the guardian sigh. "Alright, alright... Your persistence won over." He sighed, but stopped and put his hands in his hoodie pockets. With a small frown, he explained his downfalls. "I hurt Rue okay? I did a terrible thing. Not only did I hurt him, but I hurt Seishu as well. That's not good. I could've killed them both!" Before Enasi could start panicking again, Harper spoke up. "How? You've never hurt your own dreams."
"I know, but when I was out doing that whole energy thing I hurt Seishu. I was being careless. And Rue was with him... I'm terrible..." Harper sighed and patted the guardian's head. "One mistake doesn't make you a terrible guardian. Or a terrible person. You just made a mistake. And you're... No offense sir, but really sensitive." Harper thought it was shocking that he wasn't crying.

The guardian frowned a little although it came off as a pout. "Gee, that's just what I needed to hear to make me feel better..." Harper quickly apologized, and the guardian nodded. He did lift his spirits a little, just for the sake of his realm. He couldn't bare to hurt anyone else. "Maybe you're right... Maybe I'm just being sensitive... But it's not like I can help that..."

Suddenly, that familiar wave of energy shot toward them. The guardian braced himself, not knowing how hard he was going to get hit. Harper's head tilted as he watched Rue rush toward him. "He seems fine to me.." The rabbit mumbled as Enasi looked down at Rue. The guardian looks a little shocked, but he hugs the little dream. "Why are you crying? You did nothing wrong." He insisted and sat on the floor to look at him.

"You don't have to apologize Rue." He noticed the scar on the little minions cheek and lightly touched it. "The doctors didn't do a very good job did they? Hmph, I guess as long as it doesn't hurt anymore." The rabbit sighed and walked off. The guardian was sensitive, but he was also pretty forgiving. He was sure he'd be fine afterwards.

Rue sobs a little longer before finally gathering himself up enough to pull back. He leans back just far enough to look up into the guardian's face, arms still clutching his lord's sides. After a few steadying breaths he takes one big one and begins speaking. “I know I don't have to, but I should, because what I did made you hurt. I didn't blame you, and I don't, and I should have done my part as one of yours to make sure I didn't do anything to make you sad.” Hiccuping slightly he continues. “I know you were worried and I shouldn't have hung close to Seishu for comfort, when that's your job not his. And I shouldn't have turned away to begin with. I mean, I meant well, I didn't want you to feel responsible for what happened since it's just as much my fault for charging in close to him when it was obvious he wouldn't be in the mood to have anyone that close. I was being foolish, so you shouldn't feel bad about my injury, even though Seishu is right and you were being forgetful too.”

Smiling up at Enasi he hardly seems to take a breath as he rambles on. “I mean, I forget things all the time, and if got as sad as you when I goof up every time I think I'd just die after five or six times, and that would be bad. But you don't make mistakes all that much, and it's not like you you did anything bad. Forgetting isn't something to get all worked up about.” Releasing Enasi with one hand he reach up to cut his scared cheek. “The doctors didn't do a bad job, I asked them to let me have this scar. See, Seishu says that all of his scars are reminders of really important things, and because of them he never makes the same mistake twice, and since it was my mistake that gave me this burn, I think it'll do the same for me.” He stops just long enough to giggle before adding, “Beside I think it makes me look cool!”

Before Enasi can reply Rue starts right back up. “One more thing Lord Enasi, because I want you to know how I feel.” His expression becomes very serious as he speaks. “I really wanna stay with Mister Seishu for now, maybe for as long as he's here. He looked so happy when you mentioned that guy who sent the message, I know he may not be nice, but he cares about them over there a lot, and they obviously care about him a lot. He said they wouldn't have gotten through so fast if it wasn't a rescue, and when he talks about them over there I can see how worried he is.” Looking down at his feet his voice drops ever so slightly. “I may not be able to be one of them, but he's so alone here, and everyone else either hates him or is afraid of him, and that just makes me so sad. He seems happy when I can sit and listen to him, and we share a sense of humor, so I think that if I can at least offer those little kindnesses to him, he'll be less lonely and maybe recover faster.” His expression still very serious he looks back up into Enasi's eyes. “You are my lord, Lord Enasi, but for a little while, I would like permission to be with Mister Seishu when I'm not needed.”

His face slips into a somewhat amused grin as he adds, “Besides, even if you said no, we both know I would find my way in there.” Then suddenly as if a thought struck him he says with a full blown grin, “Oh, and Mister Seishu is the one who sent me. I think he's worried about you, and he says when you're feeling better that I'm suppose to tell you something.” He adopts a confused expression. “He said he could tell you're upset because of some sort of Guardian thing, I wonder what he meant. . . .” His voice trails off and at last he falls silent.

Ensy started to say something, but the small minion continued rambling. There were a few times he would attempt to protest or say something but he didn't, realizing Rue was probably right. Even if he didn't want to admit it. "I guess you're right." He'd mumbled a little as the small minion spoke of him being forgetful, along with him getting worked up. Of course, the guardian would have tried and protested against it. But he didn't. It was kind of weird to be scolded by someone so much younger than him. Wasn't he suppose to know this already?

Towards the mention of the scar, he gave a slight nod. He wasn't upset about it, just as long as Rue wasn't hurt. He even laughed lightly at the thought of it making him look cool. "I guess it does." Scars were a good reminder of mistakes, but he never kept the ones he earned. Why? Because what he was 'taught' or created to believe was that as a dream he was suppose to be....well, near perfect. It wasn't like he knew any different. Once he became a guardian, there was a set standard- expectations if one would. He never questioned them. Just like Seishu, he was to believe the opposite was an enemy. There were no signs saying otherwise, so how was he suppose to know any different. The Dream Guardian was naive to those other possibilities.

Hearing a new tone of voice, one more serious, the guardian focused more. The dream was asking, or more like telling him that he would stay with Seishu. Instead of the expected protest or even unhappiness to his decision, Enasi...grinned. In fact, he even laughed some. "You know Rue, you're probably one of the most model dreams there are. Some of us should look up to you." Receiving a look if confusion, Enasi carried on. "As you said. Everyone either fears or hates the Nightmare Guardian, but they can't be blamed for something instilled in them for so long. But you on the other hand, spread happiness to even the worst of creatures. You're a truly perfect dream you know?"

Rue grinned proudly, although not expecting such a compliment. It was short lived though considering the last message the guardian was finally able to answer to. 'Seishu sent him?' His expression was a little curious as to why, but he didn't question it. It merely gave him something to think about. "Oh, and yes Rue. You have my permission. Now, you can go, I have a few things to attend to." 'And I don't have many snarky comebacks for whatever Seishu may have to say to me.'

"Really? Thank you, thank you!" Rue hugged the guardian again. "Before I go-" The minion paused in mid run. "Seishu said...'Stop doing my job for me'. Whatever that means." "W-What?" Enasi knew what it meant, slightly...embarrassed that someone did pick up on- well that. It wasn't like he could say anything because Rue took off.
It didn't take him long to turn and race back to Seishu's room. He quickly stopped in the hall, bursting with energy, and calmed down to lower it. Being around him so much, it was much easier to maintain the normal bursting energy. Opening the door, Rue still held a large grin. "He let me stay! He let me stay! Oh, but I did apologize. He's fine now." Rue took a seat on the edge of the bed and then got to the more serious questions. "Are you feeling better?"

Seishu can no longer fight off sleep. As the little minion darts out of the room his consciousness floats away from him and he drops into the darkness. Unlike dreams, or so he assumes, what his kind experience when sleeping is not something that anyone would want to go through. No thoughts, no memories, not even any nightmares. It is simply, nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. There is the darkness. Everything around is black, formless, unseen, and unfelt. There is no sense of self in the pitch darkness of a nightmare realm's unconscious mind. There's simply the dark, and nothing that comes from being unable to hope, or dream. Seishu has spent more time awake than any other being he knows of, just to avoid the nothing. He hates it, more than any dream or good feeling that may cross his path, the darkness inside his own mind is his worst enemy.

Luckily he doesn't have to suffer it long st a small glimmer of light shocks him out of his sleep. His eyes peel open as the Little Bite comes darting right up to the bed. Drawing back what littler energy he's managed to gather while Rue was away he smirks at the little one. 'Well, things must be alright with the world for his to be this happy. Let his stay huh? Guess I'm stuck with it now, heheh' Pushing himself up carefully, a hand on his stomach over the newly stitched stitches, Seishu rolls his eyes his smirk turning into a half smile. “I'm fine Little Bite, not that I can really tell with all these pain killers pumping through my veins.” He pauses for a moment, feeling about gently with his senses. Feeling a generally high level of positive energy pressing in around him the Nightmare Guardian shudders and sticks out his tongue. “Yeah, he's feeling better. You told his what I told you to right?”

Rue nods his head vigorously and bounces a few more times. “Yep, I told his what you said after I apologized. He Looked happier and even laughed, and he agreed that my scar makes me look cool!” Quieting down Rue smiles widely, a faint blush coming to his cheeks. Turning away from Seishu he stays quiet for a few seconds. The white haired man tilts his head in confusion and is about to ask what's wrong when the boy speaks again. “He told me I'm a perfect dream.” He hangs his head a bit, smiling gently. “I don't think I'm perfect. I mean, I make mistakes all the time, and I don't always look where I'm going, and I forget stuff a lot. But even so,” he turns to look over at Seishu over his shoulder, his face busting out into a wide grin, “it makes me really happy that he said it, even if he's totally wrong, heh!” Seishu smiles back and shakes his head. Just then Rue lets out a huge yawn.

Chuckling the guardian murmurs, “Well, he said you can stay, but if you're tired, you should probably go get some sleep Little Bite.” Rue covers his moth with his hand and shakes his head. With a look very much like a pleading puppy he grabs one of the spare pillows on the bed and curls up on the edge. Seishu raises a hand to protest but the little minion is out in an instant. A faint strangled 'Argh' makes it's way out of his throat before Seishu drops his hand in defeat. 'Man, there is no arguing with this brat, is there?' With a low growl he pulls up the covers so he can throw some over the kid. 'Not that he'll catch cold or anything, but it just doesn't look right to lay over the sheet like that' Rolling his eyes Seishu settles back against his pillows, his fingers steepled in front of him while he concentrates on conserving energy and healing his body.

~~~~*~~~~
“Could you believe that minion? Being all buddy buddy with, of all things, the Guardian of Nightmares?!”
“I know, and what was that about scaring on purpose? How foolish!”
“Lord Enasi should really do something about that minion. It can't be good for one so small to be so close to that thing so much.”
“Yeah. Hey, maybe that thing brainwashed him or something? I mean, we have no idea what it's capable of! What do you think Crios?”
Most of the heads in the room turn to look at the fox tailed man bent over his desk. Crios ignores the question and waves his hand, signaling that they should all go back to doing their jobs. A few of them grumble, but do as they are told. The theories and gossip continues to flow like quicksilver through the medical staff and out into the palace proper, but Crios will have no part of it. His tail swishes back and forth every so often as he fills out all the paperwork from the battle casualties from this morning. Documenting injuries, taking down names of those who didn't make it and those who are still in critical condition. 'You would think they'd have better things to do with their time. I don't care if this has never happened before, or what kind of patient he makes. As long as Lord Enasi wants his treated, that's all they should focus on' His tail audibly snaps as he whips it to the side. The sound disbands another group of medics that had stopped to prattle.
After another hour his ears begin twitching at the sound of whispering just outside the door to the main medical area. With a deep sigh he drops his head in exasperation. After a few seconds he looks up at the giant wall clock. 'It's been a few hours since the new bandages were put on our nightmare patient' Glancing at the door where several of his staff stand discussing matters just out of sight Crios rolls his eyes and gets to his feet. 'I could use the break' He reasons with himself before stepping into the storage room to pick up the supplies he'll need. Tucking his load into one sleeve he snaps open the door to the main hall, scattering his staff. He ignores their stammered apologies and placations and instead marches right past them towards the softly pulsating darkness down the hall. Not bothering to knock he pushes the door open, turning to shut it gently behind him before bringing his attention to the patient on the bed.
He raises a single eyebrow at the sight of the minion curled up on the edge of the bed next to the white haired man. Seishu returns the look in kind before bringing a finger to his lips to signal that the doctor should be quiet. Crios can feel the unease in his stomach twisting and writhing so close to the Nightmare Guardian but he pushes it back along with his own positive energies as he approaches the bed quietly. He had been with the first group of doctors assigned to patch up Seishu when he first arrived, but he had been called away in the middle of treatment by one of the other patients going into critical condition. He had almost rushed back when he felt the pulse of negative energy not five minute later, but the pule caused a series of minor emergencies throughout the entire medical wing so he stayed, being needed there more than at the nightmare's side.
Seishu watches the tailed male walk around his bed so he can reach him unhindered by the sleeping boy. 'He doesn't seem to be afraid or on edge like the other docs. I guess he's probably high up on the food chain than the rest I've seen. Like Hops' His eyes follow Crios's movements as he unpacks his long sleeve, setting the bandages and other stuff on the small table beside the bed. Without a word the man puts a knee on the bed so he can lean closer to the guardian. Before he can reach him though he pauses, a sick look on his face. Seishu blinks lets out a little sigh. Closing his eyes he focuses for a moment and after a few seconds he seals his negetive energy deep inside so the doctor can work. Opening his eyes again Crios gives him a little nod before cutting away the bandages over his shoulder wound.
Keeping his voice low the fox eared man murmurs, “I suppose the little one has gotten use to that level of energy.” More of a statement than a question he doesn't really expect an answer. However his movements stop as he watches the nightmare smile and turn to look at the dream minion curled up on the bed. Seishu nods slightly but remains silent, his attention on Rue. 'Well, there's something I never thought I'd see. Seems a few of those rumors are true. He like the kid' Crios finishes his work on the shoulder and moves a little further on to the bed to begin on the stomach bandages. He feels a creeping sensation run up his neck and glances up to see Seishu staring at him. His fingers falter for a moment and he turns his gaze back to his hands. He's usually quite good with patients, if a little curt, but he can't really think of anything to say to the guardian.
When the wound is exposed he glances one again up at Seishu's face as the guardian lets out a gasp of pain. The sound is followed by a low rumble from deep within his chest and Crios feels a faint flicker of fear. He quickly squashes it and reaches over for the pain killers. 'From his chart, he's had too much as it is, but if he's still feeling pain at this point, it's obvious we've been using the wrong baseline for him' Once the pain meds start pumping through his system the rumbling subsides and Crios visibly relaxes. His stomach tenses however when the nightmare chuckles slightly.
“I see you not exactly as impervious as you look, Doc.” Seishu mutters, a faint smirk on his lips. Crios's eyes narrow for a second before he rolls his eyes.
“Anyone would feel nervous if a wild animal was less that an inch away and suddenly sounded like it wanted to eat them.” He hisses back, meeting Seishu's gaze. The nightmare glares back for several seconds before breaking out in a grin. Before he can move Seishu reaches out and ruffles his hair like an old man telling a kid he was a “good boy”. Crios shakes his head, flipping his hair back into place, and lets out a growl of his own.
Seishu holds up a hand before Crios can snap at him. “I like you, you're honest. It's a good quality no matter where you come from Doc.” His attentions snaps over to Rue for a few seconds as the little minion groans in his sleep.
Crios meanwhile rolls his eyes and goes back to work. However his stomach feels a little lighter now. 'Somehow I feel a little safer now that he's said that. Not that I want to be liked by the sworn enemy of every living creature in this realm, but at least now I have the feeling I don't have to worry so much when I'm treating him' His gaze softens a bit as Seishu sits up a bit, making his job easier. 'I should probably take over doing this. If he's this cooperative with me, his treatment should go a lot faster from now on' Behind him his tail sways slowly back and forth as he works carefully to cover the nightmare's most troublesome wound.
The Dream Guardian wandered down halls, making his way toward the main medical hall. He was wrapped in his own thoughts, thinking about the message Rue gave him. 'Maybe I'm just overthinking it...' He finally came to that conclusion after running fingers through his hair. There was no point trying to figure out why Seishu would care to send Rue to apologize. It was just kept as him staying concerned with the Balance. Seishu's kingdom was falling, and it wouldn't be wise to cause any other trouble. The Dream guardian fixed his own selfishness and went over to the room the soldiers were being held.
Enasi brightened seeing that most of them were looking well, and on their feet. "Wonderful." He smiled and nodded towards the few that greeted him. The guardian approached one soldier who was still laying down and unconscious. "Will he be okay?" His eyes met the familiar sheep doctor who was scribbling something on his chart. "Yes sir. He'll be fine in no time thanks to Crios. There was a hole in stomach thanks to those leeches... But our head doctor handled it fine." There was a hidden hostility in his voice as he spoke of the nightmares who harmed the soldier.
"You're anger will solve nothing Iro. Just continue helping our own." The guardian's voice was soothing, showing no sign of anger or rash feelings towards the nightmares.
"Pardon me for speaking out Lord Enasi," Iro paused and everyone's attention turned curiously towards the two. It almost seemed as if he was trying to get everyone's attention. "I don't understand the things that are happening lately. You've let the Nightmare Guardian rest here in leisure. I guess I understand it's for Balance, but to be so friendly is highly... Odd." The guardian listened, not showing any signs of being phased. The others gave shocked expressions, some even agreeing with sheep doctor. "Not only this, but you're letting one of our own be around that monster. He is a child, so whatever that monster days will sink into his head. He'll become a tainted dream. This needs to end-." Enasi raised his hand for him to silence. Iro followed orders, though fuming with irritation.
"Iro, you are one of my best doctors. I understand you're confusion, but you should know- you should all know, that I have reasons for what I am doing." He looked at everyone, giving a serious look. "We are all aware of the balance that must be preserved, but I am being friendly to my counterpart in order from keeping him angry. Iro, do you realize how many more injuries would take place if the Nightmare Guardian was to lash out, out of anger? Surely you should know. You've been working here for years. As for Rue, he is only a child. Leave him be. He is fine." With a sincere look, he continued. "All I ask...is for your trust... What good can I do if you all don't trust me?"
This left an immediate guilty look on the sheep's face. "My apologies Sir. I-I never meant to doubt your actions. Please forgive me." Humbly, everyone else, bowed or bowed their heads in respect. "It's okay. I understand your confusion, it was to be expected. But now that you know, please, continue helping our own and honoring what I say." He received a nod, and Iro turned to do his job.
A musical chime sounded twice throughout the Cloud Kingdom. Enasi grinned softly and hurried out. With all that was going on, he almost forgot about the feast! Every time the battles ended, the guardian honored all the soldiers and other staff because of their valiant efforts. "It's almost time, it's almost time!"
~~~~~

"Alright everyone! Get everything set for the feast." A chef yelled out over the commotion of food being created and put into serving trays. "Oh Cho?" Enasi stuck his head into the large kitchen, knowing it was dangerous to go inside the busy kitchen at times like this. The head chef beamed and walked over to the door. "Lord Enasi! It is nice to see you. The food is almost ready, never fear!" Cho was a dream, one of the more human creations of the the realm. He was taller than the guardian, and bright red hair poked out from under the chef's hat he wore. "Actually, everything is being set now. We an ring the second chime now if you like." Enasi laughed as the head chef rambled. "I was only coming to make sure everything was fine. But if everything is ready, we can ring the chime." The guardian departed and watched as food was set out.

~~~
Chimes rang for the second time, and Ensy was sitting amongst the many who worked in the kingdom. From soldiers to doctors to the janitors. From dreams to minions alike. They all stood and looked up as Enasi stood before them. "I won't bore you with the same speech given countless times before, but I'll say this. You all worked hard and fought well. This isn't in my honor, but in all of yours. Without you all, this kingdom- no this realm would fall. So, enjoy! From the best chefs in the Dream Realm!"
An uproar of cheers sounded before everyone began to eat and enjoy the festivities. For the few that were stuck in the infirmary, soldiers went in bringing drinks and food for them so they were able to enjoy themselves as well.
Enasi weaved through the crowd holding two plates. One for Rue, and one for Seishu. He knew the guardian wouldn't come through and Rue wasn't going to leave his side. So he decided to carry some food to them. Not many noticed him leave, but it wasn't like he wasn't going to come back eventually.
"Rue, Seishu~ Here you go." He called, pushing the door opened. "I got it from the party- well obviously. But I'm assuming neither of you had a decent meal. So, here you go." Enasi gave an innocent smile as he handed them the plates.
Letting out a little groan as he lays back again his pillows, the tight bandages limiting his movements a bit Seishu looks up at the doctor gives him a thumbs up. “Good job Doc, now if only there was a way to send some for your more timid people in here so I could get some negative energy to go with this primitive healing, I might actually have a chance.”
His little jab makes Crios's heckles rise but just as he's about to snap back a faint giggle draws the attention of both adults in the room. Rue lay still for a few seconds before giving up on pretending to sleep and sitting up. Glancing at the covers he looks up at Seishu with a wide grin. “Thanks!” he says happily before turning to the doctor. “Don't worry Mister Crios, he's just picking on you to get a response.” Hiding a yawn behind his hands he talks through it. “Since he can't feed off me anymore he's just trying to make you mad for a snack.” Turning his gaze on to Seishu he drops his hand with a grin. “Right Mister?”
Rolling his eyes Seishu turns to the doctor and gives him a nod. “While it's great that you're so efficient, if I can't get some negative energy once in a while I'm not going to recover.” With that he looks back over at Rue and raps him on the head lightly. The Dream Minion scoots back off the bed, an exaggerated look of false hurt on his face. “And you need to not tell anyone else about that or I'll never get to eat.”
Just then a chime begins going off overhead and Seishu rolls his eyes as the happiness in the boy spikes. With a sigh Crios packs up his things before turning to Seishu, catching his attention. 'I can't really blame him for just being himself, but I'm not letting him off the hook for that comment earlier' “Well, my efficiency is going to have to do for now seeing as I'll be taking over as your primary.” He states, his voice cool. “I won't be subjecting my workers to your onerous presence for some time, as long as I can avoid it, so you'll just have to get use to someone who won't submit to you underhanded tactics.” He lets his words settle in for a moment, a second chime going on overhead. Then one of his rare little smiles passes across his face and he snaps his tail as he turns and leaves the room. He can't help chuckling to himself as he crosses his arms on the way back to his office to drop the supplies off before doing his rounds. 'When he's doped up, he isn't too bad. I just hope he consents to the meds even after he stops being is so much pain'
As he walks off Rue giggles and flutters around the room. Seishu rolls his eyes and watches for a bit. 'I guess I should have expected this. I mean, I doubt the fear of me, event hat vague far away stuff I'm feeling, is going to fade the longer I'm here' Looking over to the door he smirks, 'Starting with the higher ups. That guy was definitely having a bit of fun with me at the end. I guess I can also expect to be surrounded with those least likely to try and kill me on sight too' His thoughts turn a bit dark as he thinks about Enasi and his lack of control over the creatures in his realm. 'All it would take at this point is a fairly strong minion with a grudge, and there's not much I could do. Anything that can walk through my aura of negativity could conceivably kill me without much effort' Just then the door opens and a cheerful voice makes Seishu cringe. 'Speaking of things to worry about, he's way to happy. . . .'
Rue flies down with a sequel to sit at the edge of the bed and reaches out for his plate. “Yum! Looks really tasty this year! Cho really knows his stuff!” He cries making sure to temper his happiness so close to Seishu. Said guardian reaches out for his plate and settles it carefully on his lap. Offhandedly between bites Rue adds, “Oh, and Mister Seishu was being all worried about something before you came in, could feel all the negative coming off of him.”
Seishu stares at the back of the little minion's head as he speaks before turning his attention to Enasi. He's silent for a few seconds, ignoring the man he's staring at while he gathers his thoughts. 'I can at least try to say this right. It's not like pissing him off or upsetting him will help me, or the balance for that matter. We just got him feeling right again, I don't need to go making a second Nightmare Realm' Coughing slightly he fixes the other guardian with a serious look. “Listen, don't take offense to this, because Little Bite isn't entirely wrong about me worrying, but my worry is well founded.” Making sure Enasi's listening, he goes on. “Even in my weakened state, I can feel a lot of negative emotions around here, especially since most are directed directly at me. A lot of your dreams and minions have it in for me, and no amount of puppy dog eyes are going to change their minds unless you seek them out personally and get their word. And event then, as I've seen personally now, you don't exactly control them all well enough o ensure one of them won't try and take me out for the sake of a fallen comrade or for 'The good of the dream realm' or some fool stuff like that.”
Keeping his tone even he glances at Rue. The little minion looks a little uneasy but doesn't make any sign that he disagrees. “I'm not asking you to do anything hard or inconvenient for you guys,” He says, looking back to Enasi. “But if you could, maybe, I d'know, seal the room against anyone who doesn't have the okay to come see me? I know I can do stuff like that, but I don't suppose you have any practice at it. I mean, at this point, Hops would have no problem coming in here and taking me out if he had a mind to. Not that he does, he seems to listen fairly well I suppose. Point being, he's a dream, and even he could get to me without much effort, saying nothing for your minions. . .” His voice trails off and he prays silently that he wasn't too mean.
Gin paces back and forth in the empty throne room. Having sent out all of his underlings so they can't see his irritation Gin lets out a growl and glances at the back of his hand where the very faint outline of his new office still sits, barely a ghost of an image. With a roar he throws himself on the the throne and sinks down, looking very much like a pouting child. “This is just so stupid. I should have complete control by now. Things are not going the way I planned, and that just pisses me off!” Muttering loudly to himself he doesn't notice a nightmare pause just outside the door to listen. “I mean, c'mon, he's in the dream realm, even if he managed to find a place to recover, his authority should be fading by the second! It's not like he has any resources over there. All that goodie-goodie must be wreaking havoc on him.” Holding his hand up again a look of sick pleasure crosses his face. “I hope it hurts like hell you weakling.” he hisses at the mark before fading into thoughts of how the positive energies must be torturing the former lord of the Nightmare Realm. It never even crosses his mind that the being in the dream realm may actually be helping Seishu.
_*_*_*_*_
Kaila holds up a hand, calling for a halt. The command goes on down the line and the entire group goes silent. Overhead several giant flying insects pass over, and upon their backs are a mixture of nightmares and minions. Switching his signal the party shifts into the shadows beneath the trees to wait for the hunting party to move on. Kaila curses his luck as one of the bugs wheels around for another pass. 'It is getting harder and harder to move tot he next camp sight. They've stepped up patrols in the past hour and now even the safe zones are that safe' It has been less than two days since the coup began, but Kaila had the wherewithal to take charge right away and use his unit to work out maps and routs where the resistance could operate easier. He'd even sent his newest recruit back to the palace with the betrayers with orders to gather information and send it to them safely. 'He was new, but I have no doubt he is loyal to us. He kinda reminds me of me when I was his age. He really loves Lord Seishu' Finally the insect flies away and the group moves on quietly.
In less than an hour they emerge for the woods into a fairly marshy area. The marsh is almost a perfect circle and surrounded by thickly growing trees. He orders the camp set up along the perimeter and moves further into the area. He moves past a few geysers issuing a kind of dark steam that looks almost like smoke, but smells like alga and other wet plants. 'Not the most pleasant smell, but the steam should mask out camp fires. We'll be able to cook some food tonight and have a hot meal. It will do us some good' He casts a sad eye around at the nightmares and minions making short work of the set-up and moving right into building campfires. He can almost sense the relaxation making it's way through the tense party as the first flickering flames come to life. His gaze falls to his second in command and with a wave he sends him off to help cook and enjoy a hot meal.
He moves to the middle of the marsh, standing on a lone large flat stone overlooking a fair sized patch of open water. Slowly the surface moves, a few bubbles causing splashing noises as the breach the surface, until at last the water splits. A large flat moss and alga covered surface rises slowly from the murky depths. A few nightmares give sounds of alarm but are quickly put at ease by those who recognize the creature. With a head the size of a kiddy pool the beast doesn’t life it very far before sifting his gaze up to the man standing on the stone. It's dark watery black eyes sitting flat atop his head shift back and forth and he blinks. “Sorry to intrude Myralyn, but this is the safest place I could think of. This is your realm and none enter without you know it. You are one of our most powerful nightmares, and I know how much it meant to you when Lord Seishu rescued you and made this place just for you.”
Kaila speaks softly, the beast's hearing before very good even above water. He waves a hand around to indicate the rest of the camp. “We will stay only as long as we are welcome or until we need to move on for another reason. Until then, I pray you will suffer our presence, and should the need arise, I pray you will stand with us against the foul perversion that Gin has started.”
Myralyn stares up at Kaila for several long seconds before nodding softly. “I will guard you as you rest.” His voice is low, reaching across the entire expanse of the marsh to reach the ears of all who are camped about it's edges. “May this all end quickly so I can go back to peaceful existence.” With that he sinks down beneath the surface. Less then a foot down beneath the surface of the water, all of the dense vegetation that makes up the false land stretching here and there across the top of the water ends and he swims freely in the 15 foot deep murky water. The water helps sounds of the gathered land dwellers reverberate around the area, letting Myralyn keep track of things perfectly. Shaped like a giant salamander with spikes ridges running parallel down his back to his long whip like tail, Myralyn swims much like a shark with his head weaving back and forth as he makes his way to the bottom of the marsh waters. His webbed feet are tipped by small but sharp hook like claws which dig into his favorite resting log as he comes to rest at the bottom.
Kaila lets out a sigh and gives the now empty pool a slight bow before returning back across the moss and roots. His second hands him a stick with cooked something or other on it. He takes it gratefully without question and bite into it. Aside from dreams and minions the realm is chocked full of edible plants and little creatures the Nightmare Guardian let loose to feed the more feral nightmares. 'He also put some larger ones here for those of us who just like to hunt. I wonder how long they will last now that he's gone. . . .' Kaila sinks into his darker thoughts, ignoring those around him as he presses a hand over the flower tucked away safely in his shirt and eats his meal silently. 'Get well soon Lord Seishu. . . .'
"I'll make sure to give Cho the compliment." Knowing the dream enjoyed the compliments, despite being so modest about his work, he knew Cho would enjoy it. Enasi smiled towards Rue's happiness and took a seat in the only cushioned rolling chair. As he sits, he takes care to lower his own energy before doing anything else. The guardian couldn't help being happy about the feast. It was needed, and put a lot of people at ease...mainly being him. Once the party was over, Enasi would grab a plate- unless it was all gone before he could. If that was the case, he'd just ask Cho to make something for him if it wasn't too much of a bother.
Escaping his own thoughts, Enasi raised a curious eyebrow when Rue spoke up about Seishu being worried. His eyes turned to his counterpart, awaiting a response. His smile faded a little, noting the serious look. 'Whats wrong now?' He mentally sighed, but let Seishu continue. 'Don't take offense he says. Well at least he's not trying to sound hurtful.'
The Dream Guardian listened carefully. Seishu was worried about his own life. It made sense. After all, Enasi witnessed the hostility towards Seishu. He didn't blame him for being worried about it. Enasi gave a nod, no sign of being disheartened by the news. Not even the jab toward his control phased him. Why? Because Enasi started to come to terms with it. He knew it was true, but of course no one but Seishu -and now Rue- spoke up about it. The male's head hung as he sighed, but it immediately lifted as he nodded. "I understand. Don't worry, I'll get something done about it." He even smiled a little towards his poke at Harper. "Well I can assure you Hops is the last person you need to worry about." Enasi swallowed the pride before he continued. His hand ruffled his burgundy hair and he sighed.
"You're right. I've given them a lot of free reign... Some of them are frantic because you're here." He shook his head and then spun around the chair. "Though you shouldn't be too worried~ all the ones that would think about conspiring against you are weak at heart. You could easily take them down-" He paused, quickly adding on. "Not that I'm giving you the permission to..." The last thing he needed, was Seishu thinking he could harm his minions. The Dream Guardian looked relatively calm and still not phased by the news.
"Don't worry, I'll do it once the party has ended. I doubt anyone will try anything today." He had no doubts about it, considering many of them would be too drunk to do such a thing. "Rue, Crios, Harper, and myself of course will be the only ones allowed in here. I included Harper so he can be here if I can't." He explained before sitting up in the chair.
"Think about this. Once the Nightmare Guardian regains his strength, there's no doubt he'll wreck havoc. No matter how much out Lord says he won't." That familiar sheep doctor Iro stood amongst a small crowd while the party went on. They were off in a room away from the party. "But Iro...how could we beat him? He's a guardian?"
"He's in a weakened state now. It would be much- we could overpower him." One minion looked a little nervous. "I do agree with you Iro... But what about Lord Enasi? Don't you think he'd be upset?" The sheep doctor shook his head. "Once we explain our actions, our guardian will surely understand. And he's very forgiving."
It seemed like a good plan. It was a small group of around fifteen or so, but they all strongly despised the Nightmare Realm. All seemed to hold some special grudge towards then, whether it was family lost, or past injuries. When were they going to attack? Of course, they'd do it while everyone was in a drunken stupor or asleep. And with Iro's medical skills, they could easily make it look as if there was an accident- or he just didn't make it.
What they didn't know, was that there were holes to their plan. Not only would they have to worry about a barrier being set up to prevent anyone from getting in, but they also would have to worry about Harper. The conspiring group assumed Harper, one of the main dream minions who despised the Nightmare Realm, would understand.
~~~<>~~~<>~~~

The party lasted for awhile, just as it always did. Enasi didn't stay in the room with Rue and Seishu, instead he drifted back to the party if only to eat some of Cho's delicious food. Other than that, he sat around watching as everyone had fun.

Once the help drifted around to cleaning, Enasi wandered back towards Seishu's room slowly. As he promised, he was going to put up the barrier to protect Seishu, and put him at ease.

Seishu can't keep a wicked grin from his face when the Dream Guardian himself mentions him “Taking out” the little dreams and minions who were most likely to launch and offensive. He holds his tongue though as Enasi quickly catches on to exactly what he just said. 'Aww, and I was so looking forward to flaying me some naughty dream flesh too, heh' His smile fades and he glances at Rue again at the mention of there being no attack yet and the little minion nods enthusiastically. He sits quiet for a little while. 'Well, they know these guys and gals better than I do, so I suppose I should trust them for now. At least Enasi realizes I'm not just blowing smoke' He lets his gaze settling on the Dream Guardian and after a few seconds he gives a nod. Not quite able to pull words of gratitude out for his counterpart yet, it's the best he can do.

Rue giggles and begins chattering about how once, after the last battle, something amusing happened. Seishu sat and listened, eating his meal. It was fair well soaked with happiness and joy, but the flavor was good and he could ignore the sweetness from the cook. Enasi leaves soon after Rue begins his story and Seishu doesn't spare him a glance, too intent on his first meal in quite some time. The little dream minion is chocked full of stories and he lets the boy go on talking even after the meal is over. He even chuckles a few times, shaking his head at the shear foolishness of some of the minion's playmates.

~~~~*~~~~
Iro calls his group to a halt. After a moment he looks over his shoulder. “Coats on now. That was he isn't suspicious about you guys. We'll all just be more filthy medics to him.” The gathered dreams and minions nod, pulling the white coats they took from the infirmary store room. Once he sees they are all finishes Iro has them all advance further down the hall towards the room holding the enemy of their realm.
~~~~*~~~~

Crios sits back in his chair, rubbing his eyes with one hand. 'Finally, done for the day. I hate paperwork' He stops, dropping his hand down with an exasperated sigh. “Oh yeah, the Nightmare.” he reminds himself. Standing he walks over to the wall holding his chart and marks down that he is the only one to treat the unpleasant man. As he turns towards the infirmary though his brows furrow. 'It looks kinda bare out there. Where is Iro, Shasta, Tourmali, and Fuan?' Wandering across the hall he peeks through the door to look the length of the room. All along the opposite wall are beds placed at regular intervals, and almost all of them are full. However instead of the four person staff he picked out to keep an eye on these critical patients there is only one walking her rounds. His brow creases further. “Fuan!” he calls out quietly. He head snaps around, her doe like eyes widening before dropping to the floor.

She hurries over, keeping he gaze to the floor. “Yes Doctor Crios?” she inquires timidly. She seems to dance on the spot, looking anywhere but at her boss.

Crios feels his heckles rise. 'Fuan is normally my most heavy handed and dependable staff members. The fact that she's so spooked, and didn't report that the others are shirking their duties is beyond unusual' His ever present neutral expression shifts down into a suspicious frown. “Fuan, where are the other three? There's never to be less than two here at all times when we have this many patients.” His frown grows deeper as she lets out a little whine. 'This can't be good'

~~~~*~~~~
Rue suddenly pauses, letting out a little “Yipe!” as he jumps off the bed. In that same instant Seishu's head snaps around to look at the door. Rubbing his arm Rue gives the man a curious look and opens his mouth to ask what's wrong. However a raised hand makes his jaw snap shot with and audible click.
Seishu glares at the door, the sudden influx of negative emotions nearby feeding his energy reserves and causing a small aura of it to surround his body. 'Well, looks like dear Enasi either under or over estimated his loving followers' He can feel it clearly now, a group of at least even moving closer and closer to his room, and each one feeling hostile towards the nightmare guardian. His eyes shift over to Rue, then around the room. Spotting a lipping alcove right up against the vaulted ceiling he gives a nod and looks back at the minion. He can't suppress a little smile at the worried look on the boy's face, but he pushes aside the warm feeling it inspires and adopts a serious look.
“Listen Little Bite. I know if ordered you out of the room you'd spend the next hour objecting, so instead I need you to go up there and lower your energy as far as you can.” He keeps a hand up so Rue bites his tongue. “I can't explain in detail right now, but let's just say that your fearless leader was wrong. I don't expect this to be too bad, but I don't want you where you could get hurt. Or worse, I don't want you to fight back.” He gestures in a wide circle, “This is your home, and despite you insistence on being with me, you'll have to live here after I go. I don't want you to get even further on your fellows' bad side by fighting them. So, up you get, and stay out of it.” He gives Rue a hard look then murmurs softly, “For my sake Little Bite, don't be a hero. I'll be fine.”
Rue shakes slightly, fighting inside himself for several seconds. However, finally conceding that Seishu knows best he darts up to the back corner of the room above the windows running along the length of the wall at the head of Seishu's bed. Tucking himself back into the little darkened space he suppresses his energy really down low. Seishu gives him a nod and goes back to staring at the door. A few moments later, the golden door handle moves.
~~~~*~~~~

Taking a deep breath, Iro and his group moves into the room. Trying to look as if they are going about their business, the other two medics move towards the bed. Iro looks round the room, trying to find the guardian's constant companion. Not spotting him he looks to Seishu. Taking a breath at the intense look the man is giving him he almost squeaks out, “Where's Rue?” With a cough he tries again, this time without the high pinched voice. “I mean, he's become kinda permanent fixture around here.”

Seishu keeps his eyes locked on the sheep man, but his tracks the others as they spread out and approach his bed carefully. “I had him go to the party. He needs to eat sometime you know, and it's not like I have a kitchen in here.” He's careful not to move so that the plates under his pillow don't clink together and spoil is lie. Cocking his head to the side he smiles slightly. “Shouldn't you guys be there as well? I mean, from what Rue said, it's quite the event! I hear the food is amazing, and everyone is invited.” Gesturing to his body he adds, “And it's not like I'm in any immediate danger.” Speaking the last line his tone is cool and those closing in pause for a moment. 'This could be very bad, but I can't exactly say they were smart about this. I'm feeling better than ever with all this negativity!' He smiles.

“Say, why don't you head to the party, I promise not to tell Doc Crios if you don't!” He pauses, pretending quite obviously that he just remembered something. “Oh, that's right! Didn't he say that he's the only one going to be treating me from now on? I think he did.” H looks around at those in the room, pulling his energy in close. “So I wonder why half the medical staff, along with a few soldiers I myself have smacked around on the battle field recently, are here to treat my wounds.” His tone is now very cold, his frosty gaze passing around the room to the faces of all present until it settles on the sheep man. A harsh smile finds it's way to his lips. “It's a mystery, isn't it?”

Enasi was on a casual stroll, making a few stops before heading to Seishu's room. It was fairly late, and the guardian assumed everyone was asleep. Why wouldn't they be? He decided to check on the other minion patients before his original stop. The doctors would probably be back at work and productive as always. They were all so trustworthy and the very best doctors of the realm. It was probably a good time to compli- The room was empty, save for Crios and Fuan, and of course the sleeping patients. "Has everyone gone to rest already?" By the frown from Crios and Fuan's soft stuttering, he could tell something was wrong...

~~~<>~~~<>~~~~
Iro, Shasta, Tourmali, Haru, and Mado were slowly surrounding the bed, unaware of Rue's whereabouts. There were others, but it would be too obvious if they all went into the room. So the second group waited for a signal from one of the soldiers- if they were needed. Haru and Mado were soldiers of the army, but the other three were top doctors under Crios' leadership. Iro, obviously the leader of this whole endeavor, spoke in a shakily manner, trying to keep his cool. "We are doctors. What would it look like if we went out getting intoxicated while patients desperately needed us?" Although Haru and Mado were in white coats as well, they stayed off to the side near the door. The two didn't need to be in the way while the real doctors gave him "medicine."
Shasta and Tourmali stayed silent as they shifted equipment at the ready. In the process of shifting equipment, Iro pulled out a needle of his own from his pocket, and slipped it onto the tray. "I wasn't given word of the sudden schedule change." Tourmali decided to voice his thoughts on the matter as well. "Iro, we were told that it would happen tomorrow." His lie was given a look of fake understanding. "Well Nightmare, you've gotten your days mixed up, that's all. Besides, I'm sure you won't need the treatment tomorrow... This should fix you right up." The sheep doctor spoke a little darkly.
The jab at the two soldiers made both of them glower, only feeding the guardian their negative energy. "Ignore those two. They were making sure no one was getting into trouble in their drunken stupors. I asked them to follow so Tourmali could have a decent look at the wounds you caused, after we have helped you of course." Iro spoke through gritted teeth.
Being around Seishu made his blood boil. He really despised the Nightmare Guardian and all the things he caused- especially the countless hours of helping poor dreams and minions from their injuries. "A mystery indeed..." He mumbled walking up with the needle. Shasta was the only one who remained quiet during the encounter. She still had mixed feelings about the situation, worried about her safety and theirs. And more importantly, what would Lord Enasi think? She too hated the Nightmare, so his death was not an issue. It was just the outcome of the potential battle. The thought made her shudder, but she stayed silent and moved around when she was told to. Her job consisted of changing the blood packs to the ones normally given to regular patients, of course that was full of positive energies.
"Here, let's make this quick... This is one of those human medicines to help you heal faster. Because the faster you heal, the faster you can go home." 'Although you won't be alive when you get there...' Iro didn't feel the need to explain himself considering Seishu wasn't a doctor. He held up the needle that was filled with a light purplish liquid- much different than the clear liquids that the guardian was normally given. That's if Seishu even noticed the shots he was given. Tourmali stood on one side prepared to "help" the guardian, while Iro was on the other, leaning closer, waiting for Seishu to hold out his arm. This could all be over in the matter of seconds if he just complied...
The poison would take effect and they'd be rid of the accursed demon.
At the door, Haru and Mado's positive energies slowly started increasing to cover Seishu's own negative energy.
Rue watched, wide eyed from where he hid, keeping his energies low as he was told. He stayed quiet, watching the doctors act odd and suspicious. It was like he was holding his breath in anticipation. He really needed to escape the room. Once he could, he could find Enasi and put a stop to whatever they were doing. Whatever they were doing didn't seem very good despite them being doctors... But those two guards were in the way, and they had shut the door... Hopefully someone came to help. He had promised Seishu he wouldn't get involved.
Crios' tail twitched in irritation. "Those fools! Do they not understand how dangerous that is!" His voice was an angry whisper. Fuan's gaze went back to the floor in utter defeat. "I- I'm sorry. But they threatened m- me. I promise I only over heard them... I'm not with them- at all!" Crios sighed and nodded. "I understand, and I thank you for it. At least we have one reliable staff." Upon hearing Lord Enasi, Fuan flinched and then immediately began to tear up. Oh, she really didn't want to get in trouble.
"What's wrong?" He looked a little alarmed, but followed Fuan and Crios out into the hall. "Apparently, our professional doctors have decided to treat the nightmare without my consent..." The guardian gave a look of confusion, so Crios carried on. "It's not something either of us want to believe, but it's true. The three- Iro, Tourmali, and Shasta were planning on killing him."
"This is bad, this is bad..." Enasi had to do something before something happened to the other patients. "Alright. Crios, you come with me. You'll be needed just in case they've hurt him." Crios nodded, leading the way even. "S-Sir?" Fuan piped up before they left. Enasi turned around and gave a smile. "You've done a lot for the day. Don't worry, they gave empty threats, you'll be fine." Crios added on, "You've done enough work. All of the patients are at a stable level, so you can get some rest." She nodded and walked back into the room, just to double check before she left.
The other two were two hallways down from Seishu's spare room. They had to keep the patients separated as much as possible for jut in case purposes. "This is bad..." The guardian mumbled, his worry growing. Those three were doctors, they could easily kill Seishu- thankfully Seishu wasn't dim witted enough to fall for such acts. But then there was Rue. He just hoped by chance the boy got away... And then there was Seishu possibly attacking the doctors. If his negative energy went up too much, he could possibly hurt everyone in the surrounding area. So many risks were going on in that one encounter. Why couldn't they comply to Enasi's word? If any trouble would happen, it would be because of the doctors' idiotic behavior.
'I should have put the barrier up before I left...'
He had underestimated the conspiring minions and dreams. Ensy had the guilty feeling of knowing they'd probably try something bad, but he never thought they'd try so soon.
In the Nightmare Realm, someone was trying to take Seishu's throne and in the Dream Realm, people were trying to kill Seishu- along with completely ignoring Enasi's orders. What else could possibly go wrong?
'They must really think I'm stupid or something' Seishu muses, watching the obvious lies bounce around the room. 'Yeah, they bringing those two for treatment, while they are in lab coats and standing guard this side of the door, while their fellows sit there and pump that sickeningly light and fluffy stuff all over the place through the door. Yup, totally believable Wooly' His eyes narrow as he feels flickers of fear coming from the young female changing out his blood. 'Oh crap, that stuff would be rather toxic, now wouldn't it Little Miss? Well, we can't have that' The negative energy coming from all present has Seishu feeling rather good, and even as he can feel the pain med's hold on him fading, he feels control of his emotions firmly in place.
Tourmali glances at Iro when Seishu doesn't seem to respond. His worried energies flicker about here and there, mixing with the other emotions floating around the room making a kind of dark slurry. The guardian draws it all in quickly, knowing that even if things work out this will most likely be the last good meal he'll have for a while. Iro motions towards his arm and says will all the confidence he can muster, “Now, c'mon. I know you're not afraid of needles.” Seishu's gaze shifts slowly back over to him and the doctor swallows hard.
High above Rue shift slightly, his heart racing in his ears. Even he can tell now that the doctor is acting beyond weird. 'Why won't Mister Seishu let me help? At the least I could act as a distraction. I'm sure Lord Enasi will be checking on him after the party. He's nice like that. Why w-' his thoughts trail off as he notices something different about the Nightmare Guardian. He squints down, seeing Seishu's finger taping in perfect time against the sheet. 'It's like he counting down to something. But what?'
Seishu can't hold back a smile as a very familiar positive presence seems to flare harshly against his wounds as it moves closer to his room. 'About time' He begins counting out the seconds, waiting until he's sure everything will work out. 'Not the best plan in the world, but it should keep me breathing and not have Enasi banishing me to the dungeons for killing his precious followers' Slowly he turns his arm over, giving the sheep man access to a good vein, then he turns his smile on the girl un-clipping his spent bag. She freezes and swallows, wide eyed and openly frightened. Rolling his shoulders, he waits until the syringe is close enough to his skin to act.
Iro's heart is racing, he's sure that his plan has worked, and this time tomorrow he will be resting easy with the knowledge that the bane of his realm lay dead somewhere out of sight. He has an almost greedy look in his eyes as he leans in, but in an instant his plan is shattered. Like twin blades dark energy visibly lashes out from the nightmare and the syringe snaps in half, spilling it's contents all over the bed. On the other side of the bed yelps as the bag in her hand is slices open, splattering it's contents all over her front.
Seishu quickly pulls his energy back, and in the stunned silence before the soldiers at the door can respond he murmurs with a wicked grin, “Rue, scream.” The room is quiet for a heart beat, confused looks mirrored around the room by the would be murderers, then suddenly from high above an ear splitting screech rings out. Hands involuntarily snap over ears and Iro looks to the guardian in horror, but Seishu simply smiles back and mouths the words “Daddy's coming.”
Down the hall Crios flinches and stops cold for an instant at the sound of coming from around the corner. “What in the world?” he whispers, then darts around the corner. Down the hall he spots a group of people standing around the door to the Nightmare Guardian's room, most bent double with their hands over their ears. 'So many? How, why, what's happening!?' A fire lights around his tail and legs and without hesitation he rushes towards the group.
Kaila wakes suddenly, his senses casting about for the source of what had disturbed his sleep. From somewhere above past his feet a voice speaks softly. “Kaila, sir, we require you're presence.” The minion holds back a groan and he pushes himself up slowly. The damp, slightly spongy feeling grass he had been resting on springs slowly back up as he comes smoothly to his feet. Smells of dying campfires and burnt meat replaces the soft marshy scent of the foliage as he follows the large bat to where a small group of nightmares and minions stand assembled in a circle. Shaking of the last bits of greenery from his clothes Kaila approaches the circle. It parts as he comes close and he feels his stomach drop at the sight of what's inside.
On his knees with a blood chain coming from his neck, held by one of the minions, is a very familiar face. It smiles up at him, calm and almost amused. Kaila's gaze shifts from the captive to the one holding the chain as he explains what happened. “We were out, hunting for tomorrows first meal, when we found this one harassing a nightmare. We listened for a bit, and he made it quite obvious that he's with the traitor.” Kaila's gaze hardens.
“He killed it?” he inquires, his voice void and empty.
“Yes sir. It couldn't tell him anything, It wasn't even with us, the little thing was outside of it all thus far.” The minion yanks the chain, causing the one at the other end of it to fall forward a bit with a sharp cry. Blood begins trickling out of the slit where the chain comes out of the captive's neck. Kaila can feel the hairs on the back of his neck prickle as he tried to decide what to do with him.
With a choked laugh, violet eyes comes up to meet gold as the bound male gives Kaila a friendly smile. “Now now, this isn't necessary. You must realize how foolish it is to fight this. I just want you to be safe Kai, that's why I came.” Kaila shakes his head, glaring back at him.
With a growl Kaila begins pacing back and forth. Signaling for his men to keep the captive silent his mind scatters. 'It would be so easy to just order him killed. I mean, it's not like he doesn't deserve it. He killed! He murdered an innocent nightmare, and such things are punishable by death. But things are so messed up right now. . .' Glancing over at the captive again, he lets out a long sigh. 'However distorted his reality is right now though, he really means it when he says he's just worried about me. Even though I've always been stronger, it's natural. Heh, I think he's more worried that I'm on the wrong side and if I keep resisting it will mean my head' With another growl he murmurs, “Master Seishu wouldn't want him killed, he hates when anyone has to die, but we don't have any other option, do we?”
Suddenly a low voice rumbles out from the water, startling him out of his musings. “I can take him.” Kaila looks to the water as it shifts aside, tumbling off the giant amphibian's head. “I can keep him down here. He will not die, just sleep. His presence will feed me, but not harm him.”
The minion's eyes widen and Kaila feels the urge to hug the large water monster. Instead he bows gratefully and motions the man brought forward. The man looks at him, the faintest hint of fear in his eyes before Kaila severs the blood chain and pushes the other back into the marsh waters. The man holds back a cry as a large mouth clamps around him and he's paralyzed. Myralyn slips slowly out of sight with his prize and the assembled nightmare and minions disperse swiftly until only Kaila remains. He stares at the spots for several minutes until at lest he lets out a sigh, which sounds half like a sob. “Sleep well Jentou, my brother.” he murmurs softly before turning his back on the murky waters and heading into the woods to weep.
