[OOC] ~Return of the Elements~

This is a reboot on an RP originally started by Jon Snow on the old guild. ( Jon if you are reading this, please do join. =) You were awesome. ) In the beginning of the Universe there was only Light and Darkness. Light found the Universe to be empty and created the four elements: Terra, the element of Earth, Aqua, the element of Water, Pyro, the element of Fire, and Zephyr, the element of Air. The elements came together and created the Universe as we know it. Of the elements Darkness was hated and became bitter and full of hatred for this brother's creations that is, except for Aqua, herself. She became an object of his desire. One day, while swimming through the ocean, Darkness attempted to woo her. She revolted in disgust, her heart lied with Pyro. In a rage Darkness struck her down killing her. Her body faded into the water to which it once reigned.

Pyro flew into a rage and began to burn the Earth and the living creatures upon it. Terra and Zephyr tried to calm him but Pyro, unable to control his rage, struck down Zephyr. Terra, now enraged at his temper smothered his flames with the earth, but not before becoming gravely wounded herself. For a few millennia the Earth regrew and once again flourished. Light and Darkness still fought for control. Both knew the Gods themselves might be dead but wound eventually be reborn in the bodies of the modern inhabitants.

This is that story. Our characters would be High School students ( or about that age ) each with one of the elements reborn into them. Darkness and Light will each try to recruit them to restore balance to the world.

Name: Alexis 'Alex' Fletcher

Age: 17 yrs

Gender: Female

Element: Aqua

Bio: Alexis was born to James and Kaitlyn Fletcher on a small farm outside of town. Being raised on the farm with her elder brother Chance, she had quickly become used to the lifestyle and responsibilities that entailed. However, Papa would never allow her grades to suffer should the work become overwhelming. Her family was not wealthy by any stretch of the word, in fact, they weren't that well off. Yet, they survived.

She had always been the quiet one and ignored most of her school existence, despite her vibrant hair and blue eyes, but it never once bothered her, and her attire was nothing spectacular. She was never really challenged by any schoolwork and spent most of her class-time reading whatever book caught her interest that week. She did not play sports or even attend functions, to include junior prom. Away from school she dutifully did her chores and always took the time to ride Sampson, her favourite horse. Still, despite hard days of work she hasn't slept well for quite a while, constantly disturbed by an unexplained nightmare. Always the same one.

Name: Devon Hart

Age: Seventeen. (17)

Element: Fire (Pyro)

Bio: Devon was originally born in a tough urban neighborhood, inside of the orphanage called 'Harrington's Hope'. Unlike most stories, the caretakers weren't evil, nor did they beat the children. It was actually the opposite. Most were pampered with sugary sweets and soft kisses, but Devon...well, being the feisty, determined, and brash young man that he is...he sort of hated that lifestyle. At the age of 12, he left the orphanage at night, quickly being invited into the streets, and actually surviving due to his quick wit and fiery personality. He went through numerous gangs, gaining scars, rep, and callouses, before he was caught by the police one night in a gang-war, bleeding. He was sent to the hospital, and shortly after, to prison. He was only there for a few months, but it changed him. Something that happened in there. Let's just say that it ended with the prison burning, and multiple melted bodies.

While he was still the same fiery, brash young man, he was more...laidback, although his temper could still be set off at a moment's notice. He got an actual job, and an apartment near his previous orphanage. School was never a concern of his, although he was street smart, and often found ways to cheat on tests. Devon's life wasn't the greatest, that's for sure.

Appearance: Devon stands at the medium height of 6'1, with tan skin and a muscular, yet lean build from sports. His face is rather angular and chiseled - early adulthood, and his eyes are an odd fiery crimson that seems to turn a greenish-color whenever it hits a certain ray of sunlight. Devon's hair is something that his parents disapprove of; a black Mohawk, with fiery red streaks that are actually natural, and that runs along the entire middle region of his head in feathery locks, unlike the gelled spikes most people go with. The sides of his head is lightly shaved, although his original hair is still evident, but still a lot shorter than the mohawk. Devon has both of his ears pierced after failing against peer pressure from one of his jock friends, and he has a rather noticeable, angry red scar that curves along the entirety of his right cheek bone.

Name: Kshiti Brown

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Element: Earth

Bio: Kshiti was born to an American man, William, and a Indian woman, Oni. Her mother marred William while he was in India on a humanitarian venture in their village. Her parents disowned her for not marrying a Hindi man. Oni was devastated and when her child was born she asked William to take her away. He agreed and within a year she had a Visa to the US and Oni never returned though both Kshiti and her father have.

The first time Kshiti realized there was something different about her was when she was about seven. School was hard for her, not because she wasn't intelligent, but because of her skin color. The other students teased her constantly. Once day she lost her temper and one of the boys broke his ankle in a hole. With her innocent logic she realized that she had caused it to happen, even though her parents told her otherwise. After the first time she used her powers in anger, she never let it happen again. She didn't let other people get her down. Every day after that she tried to do it again and again. Then, when she was eleven she finally made the earth move of her own free will. Thrilled she continued practicing to gain greater control.

When Kshiti was ten her mother passed away. Her father had said she was sick, but Kshiti knew it was from a broken heart. When her father went back to India she went with him and went to school there until she was fourteen. When she came back to America she went back into public school and made new friends. Everyone was far more receptive of her this time around and she gathered a small group of friends. Mainly nerdy people. She likes to read comics and play video games in her spare time.

Currently she is a junior in school.

Appearance: Kshiti is five foot five. She is unlikely to grow much taller. She has her mother's appearance and not much from her father. She has no identifying marks.

👌Name: Alice "Brianna" Campbell

👉Bio: Alice was abandoned as a baby. Left on the orphanage's door step. She had nothing but the blanket around her and a necklace.

She grew up bouncing from foster family to foster family. She was always a quiet child preferring to spend her time reading and drawing. Even having a soft spot for the piano. Once Alice was 13 she was adopted by a young couple.

They'd tried to have children only to fail time and time again. Alice was welcomed with open arms and she felt like she really fount a home. In school she was the wallflower. She wasn't teased or anything. Just ignored. But, she didn't care. She was a straight A student and that's all that mattered.

Then, her father had got a new job when she was 17 and she was forced to move to a new place. Where she is currently starting her first year at the new school. Yay.

Name: Cristian Devereux

Age: Seventeen

Gender: Male

Element: Zephyr

Bio: Cristian was born a Devereux and grew up with the life of luxury that had become synonymous with that name. The son of two successful professionals, Cristian was never without the things that made him content and he enjoyed a privileged childhood. While, Cristian was often prioritized second to his parents’ careers, he never dwelled on that fact -- he rarely dwelled on anything for too long. Rather, he made a habit of showcasing his impulsive, brash nature every chance he got, always resulting in a fast turnover for nannies and babysitters.

He never became too concerned with schoolwork finding more substance in life experience over classical education; additionally, having the promise of inheritance to quell anyone’s concerns about his future. However, when asked about his goals in life, he’d discuss for hours the things he wants to see and the places he plans to go… his desire to be free and to experience all the world at once.

Cristian has never been too attuned to what’s going on around him; however, in moments of great emotion and excitement there always seems to be a churning in the wind, yet the boy never quite picks up on the fact as he’s always caught up in the object that’s making him feel that way and less about his personal emotions.

There are two wanting the same spot and both pretty much at the same time. If you two want to work it out amongst yourselves that is fine. Both are equally good in their own right.

Otherwise, I would have to choose among you and I hate doing that.

Aye. If we can get them in the same room enough that they get a first impression that would work. Only other option that I could think of is a time skip forward to them finding out about the whole reincarnation ordeal.

Oh goody a time out while posting my questions. ..

I noticed talk about a rp called elements in your more general interest check and became curious
now I notice that darkness is still open, I dont know what kind of plans you had with him but I am a bit interested, trough trough I am not fully sure how he is supposed to act with this setting (again coming back to the what kind of things did you had in mind with him)
I do have a nice idea of what his powers could do trough

but I also wonder
light made the 4 elements, then could dark also not find a way to do something similar
like finding a person that is dying and sweet talk him that the person gets to live but under darks command with powers of his own
that way dark can do things like make spy's, try to use his underlings to sweet talk the gods or if needed fight them without getting his own hands dirty and staying off lights radar better

can otherd that want to join and are accepted also have elemental using powers without having to be under dsrks command if he can make his own underlings like I asked above?

Light nor dark can actually command them. They do have free will. However, light and dark are inherently more powerful each. ( think greek gods )

Your exact proposition came up last time and that's all fine by be me. Just for clarification do you propose to open 3-4 more elemental spots ( keep in mind zephyer is a set of twins, so one could be good or bad depending, or whatever they want to do. Free will. ) or, do you wish to corrupt what is already here, or a combination thereof?

I'm okay with any of it, just asking for clarification.

Also, I introduced a character I intended to be darkness's chosen form, Sullivan. If you want him, otherwise, make your own. As I'm sure you understand light and dark are not subject to merely one form.

The idea was basically to add a few other elements, the twin option can be interesting to use as well, but with some other elements
my only wonder would be what elements to use (kind of an elemental fan so I know quite a few raw elements like the 4 main elements) for example i would like to add 2 electric users (using the twin thing someway, one good and one following the darkness, the darkness one would get his powers from the darkness himself)
Also perhaps an ice that also is part of the darkness

those 2 are pretty simple to add as they are both direct sub paths of 2 main elements (wind and water)
But it also depends on the current fout users range, can aqua use ice as well for example

and about the darkness, that was kind of why I asked if you have plans like that, I dont mind anything about that, so that he currently is using a form I can work with, no problems
and off course he can change from form depending, might be more epic if during a direct confirmation if he ends up taking a less human form for example
if you have any ideas for how dark might act and what he is planning and such, if I may use him then tell me trough pm so I can use that ad you want ^^

Shockingly the thought of aqua using ice never came up. I just assumed she could. I'm okay with it as long as it would make sense. Only concern from that would be if there become too many people to manage and it devolves to a cluttered mess. I say ask the people what they want. I'll contact you via pm.

so Aqua can use ice, then making a char that from darkness his cold to create ice as well, would that mean that person can use water as well, or would he/ she be a pure ice user on a higher level (when comes to ice)

well I will start with just 1 (electric), make the second electric user some time later when the story has really started (aka, when they know who are stuff)
the ice will come last much much later

just for idea's, got a little list of other elements not used yet:
-magma (unless part of pyro)
-plant (often called nature)
-steel/ magnetic
-poison/ acid
-crystal/ noble metals (like silver)
-pure raw energy
-mind (not one I usually use in rp settings, but it is an official element in many believes)
-physics (pretty rare one to find, but some think the laws of physics, like gravity are also a type of elemental power)

you dont have to use any of them, just wanted to share these, most (aside the last one I think) could be useful some way or an other

That is very indepth. I would advise not to over think the matter and keep it simple. The point to where I could a pure ice/ magma elemental come into play would be something like aqua or pyro's progeny. Which at this point isn't much in the cards. If this lasts a long time I could definatly see them becoming relevant. For the time, I would think sticking to the basics would be the wisest thing to do.
