New expansion adds in India? Interesting. I haven't played it for a while, I fear. My favorite mod hasn't been updated in forever, and last I noticed the GOT mod still hadn't worked out the Essos bugs.

I've never played. Is it worth getting into?

You a fan of strategy games? Risk? alternate history?then probably yes. It took me awhile to get used to but CK2 is the easiest paradox game to learn.

I'm definitely a history lover, and I've played a lot of real-time strategy, but that's about it. Maybe I'll give it a try anyway, just for the challenge.

I haven't come across any major Essos bugs? Then again I don't read forums or anything so I probably wouldn't know what is a big and isn't.

It's really fun, but there's a big learning curve. You also have to be pretty flexible, as your plans don't (read: never) always work out.

I'm a plan B kind of girl, so I might actually quite enjoy that.

Yeah, it's interesting to go from a small Duke, build up your holding and try to vie for the throne, win it with an unsteady peace and spend the next few decades holding on. Then, just when you think your country has entered a golden age, your king character dies, passing the throne to his weakling son, and then you, as the son, get ousted from the throne and demoted down to Count. Back to square -1.

Yeah, but sometimes it can go in the opposite direction-- there is a lot of chance with CK and the goal isn't to be a super empire or kingdom; just to be the best dynasty you can be.or I don't know roleplay your traits and have a lot of crazy fun

That's true. Not every game has to be a throne-grab. It's actually quite fun to play as the instigator, causing trouble but never actually grabbing power yourself. Keeping the king weak can sometimes be more profitable than becoming the king yourself.
