Ah, guys. I will be playing a race called Ghûls, as Serpentine (vaguely) mentioned earlier. Basically they are Tolkienian Orcs. (As in, from the books. Not the Peter Jackson Orcs.)

Often times this causes infighting between citizens which then diverts the attention of the public from the true enemy, the darkness. It isn't rare to see hanging orc or goblin bodies on the roads through Ma' Hurcazak. These bodies are more often than not victims of lynch mobs from small villages who are still afraid to accept the Unity of all races.

The military of Ma' Hurcazak mostly employs a mixture of both seers and light magic users. But, a majority of the military magi are seers and used to help the defense of Ma' Hurcazak. The healers are used to help those wounded by excursions out into the rest of the world.

General Zashina

By far, General Zashina was not a popular man in his early years. He started many fights and often broke a few noses. But, Zashina had not joined the Army of Ma' Hurcazak until he was forced to by a kind judge. He had punched the wrong man(who happened to be a noble) and was given the choice of prison for five years or the Army. Zashina couldn't make up his mind so the judge forced him into the Army. It turned out to be the turning point in Zashina's life. It was nineteen years later, when Zashina was thirty-seven years old, that Zashina led the rebellion against the former monarchy which led Ma' Hurcazak. Three years after, Zashina was appointed General of the Army by the Council. It has been five years since then and major changes in the army have been made under Zashina's commands.

Admiral Braka Xenorth

A former pirate, Braka was the only elected leader which has caused an uproar. Few people consider Braka capable of leading the Navy. Others are angry from the antics she use to be involved in and how other people would look at the Navy if they knew it was headed by a former pirate. During her years as a pirate, Braka was the leader of the Red Skull pirates(who have also joined the Navy). The Red Skull pirates had, during Braka's years, twenty ships ranging from sloops to frigates. Often these ships were stolen from the rather slow and inattentive soldiers of the Navy. Much of that has changed during Braka's four years as admiral. Braka has made major reforms to the Navy including cutting soldiers out of the Navy and training soldiers to be more attentive and ready for battle. Quite a few people have begun to look at Braka in a new light.

(Notable)Council members

Out of the fifty-three council members, only seven of these members are important. Two of the six members are the Gurisia Twins; Tyler Gurisia and Haven Gurisia. Tyler and Haven Gurisia are the children of Steward Wilhem Gurisia back in the years of the Ma' Hurcazak monarchy. Tyler and Haven were raised in politics and were twenty years old when they first got involved in politics. Unlike their father, they saw the rise of the Republic a great chance for Ma' Hurcazak to be unified. Tyler is third seat representative for the humans while his sister is the fifth seat representative. Tyler is a kind man who often goes out in the public and greets people. Unlike his sister, he focuses on things in the larger scale and worries less about the small things. Haven is kind but not one for conversing with people all that often and prefers to make sure everything is planned out and followed. She has quite the temper which tends to get her in trouble with others.

The third of the seven members is Falsanir Gurikaras, first seat representative to the orcs. He is a kind orc and former slave back when Ma' Hurcazak was a monarchy. Falsanir was the first orc ever to be granted freedom and is considered the model orc for orcs in Ma' Hurcazak. He has never been known to engage in violence and is always first to consider peace rather than war. Yet, it was Falsanir who guided the orc slaves of Ma' Hurcazak in revolt against the king. He was also a major advocate for equal rights for all races. Falsanir is now sixty years old(entered slavery at 10) and still promoting the beliefs of the orcs he represents.

Yignaus Akave is the third seat representative of the dwarves. Originally born Naghuras Albrit, Yignaus came into his current name around the age of twenty-five. At that time, Yignaus was a lowly miner who's future was bleak. Yet, he stumbled upon a brilliant idea in his free time. Yignaus called it 'clear coal' which, unlike its cousin black coal, didn't produce a harmful smoke. He was given the name Yignaus which meant inventor in the local dialect. Yignaus was then allowed to set his own hall(familial building), he decided to call it Akave hall. Thus, he became known as Yignaus Naghuras Akave by the locals or just Yignaus Akave by outsiders. Five years later, Yignaus was elected as third set representative of the dwarves in the Council.

Ia'vahurn Bruher is the first seat representative of goblins and former leader of the largest goblin clan in Ma' Hurcazak. Ia, as he has come to be called, was twenty-two and was the son of the war chief Gralos Bruher of Clan Black Heart. When the rebellion started, Gralos pledged himself and his clan to the rebels, yet he never lived to see the fruit of his efforts. Gralos died at the hands of an assassin sent by the king. With their war chief dead, moral began to fall and goblins started to leave. With all hope fading, Ia took over Clan Black Heart and assaulted an encampment of some seven hundred soldiers with only two hundred goblins. That night, five hundred soldiers died to the the goblin sneak attack. The goblins themselves only suffered the loss of seventy-five warriors. More goblins began to flood into Clan Black Heart as Ia won more battles.

After the fighting was over, Ia settled down in a small house approximately twenty miles outside the capital. Since then, Ia has been elected many times as the first seat of the Goblins. Only once has anybody ever tried to take the title of first seat from him. The challenger was his own son who currently holds the position of fifth seat.

Leon Tursion is the fifth seat of the hobbits and considered one of the slyest hobbits out there. Leon use to be a merchant along the Silver Coast. He sold 'relics' to people who passed by his stall. They, of course, were not true relics but instead regular items that Leon convinced people were magical. He angered quite a few people but it was this slyness and drive to make life better for his people that got him elected to the Council. Leon uses his slyness to this day to improve the day to day life of hobbits all across Ma' Hurcazak.

Known as the Golden Queen, Na'hura Alessie is the second seat representative of the High Elves. Na'hura is the former queen of Ma' Hurcaza. Despite what many believe, she is not called the Golden Queen for her hair but for her actions before and during the revolution. Na'hura was offered to King Aegmon the third when he ascended to the throne. The Queen, unlike her husband, was a kind woman who cared for all. She use to sneak out of the Palace with baskets of bread and cheese. Na'hura would hand it out to those in need. It was the Golden Queen, in fact, who helped kill the King. She sent letters on army movements so that the rebels could be prepared. When the war was over, Na'hura was offered the position of High Seat. She turned it down so that she may better represent her people in Ma' Hurcazak.

Rathian Vairhune

Rathian Vairhune is the High Seat of the Council and has been elected every election since the rebellion. Rathian was the spearhead of the rebellion. A former court mage, Rathian had been a slave in King Aegmon's court. It was Rathian who took beatings should anything go wrong. Eventually, Rathian escaped the court and spread word of King Aegmon's cruelty. The citizens were angered and mobs began to burn down guard outposts in protest of the King's actions. When the first citizen was killed, the Rebellion began. Slaves and races everywhere in Ma' Hurcazak began to kill their guards and any soldiers who tried to stop. It was only a matter of time before the Rebellion reached Nagshinze. Rathian took pleasure in killing King Aegmon. He was considered a hero of the Rebellion and later to be humanitarian.

Since then, Rathian has donated most of the money he makes to the poor or those who are down on their luck. Rathian is a personal friend of Falsanir and has often let him teach his sons. Rathian is the first of the High Elves to hold a position of great power in Ma' Hurcazak.

The first two major pre-set religions are done.

Explanation of how religion works: In this world the current deities (Which are real and thinking beings that live in a celestial realm) are younger than the actual physical world. Every one thousand years the ruling deities or pantheon are overthrown as part of the millennial cycle, a process in which ascended mortals become servants of the ruling god(s), grow in power and eventually overthrow them for any reason (Usually for justice or power). Some of the more intelligent gods have attempted to avert the cycle, however as they did not create the world (They simply overthrew the last pantheon which overthrew the pantheon before that in turn) they do not actually know the intrinsic laws of their own domain and power. As such, no matter what the gods do they always get ascended mortals whom their powers do not work against, resulting in inevitable rebellion and the cycle continue's.

The current group of gods are not united into a single pantheon as the previous one was and as such the mortal realm is divided into numerous religions, cults and denominations of the same faiths. Following the brutal overthrowing of the previous Aestrosian pantheon 220 years ago by Consenarius (Now known as Justinian Magnus, the God of Order and Justice) in what is now known as the Aestromachy, the world went through a period of mass crisis of faith and upheaval until the rise of the Darkness 20 years after the Aestromachy. The sudden rise of the darkness following this event (Which has never happened in recorded history) have many mortals rumour that the Darkness is the direct result of the Aestromachy or even led by remnants of the old pantheon to get revenge.

While mortals worship Justinian Magnus as a he, technically speaking the god itself views itself as "Us" and still refers to itself as "Consenarius" or simply "We" or even "It". Its extreme ideals but lack of direct emotional ties results in a being that has draconian notions of justice. While it is the most openly benevolent being, it is also the most fanatical.

What do you think of a race of big googly eyed cats having lived next to the darkness for decades? They are going to be beggars for a while so it might come in handy.
