Markus raised a surprised eyebrow at the portal's appearance, but he was more excited than apprehensive. He changed into his uniform in an instant, and for good measure "drew" a sword out of thin air before stepping through the portal. The place was unsettling to say the least. Everything was strange and wrong, and a lot of the landscape was made out of unnatural components like bullet casings and barbed wire. He wasn't sure he wanted to know how the place came to be. Markus actually eyed the river of gold, but assumed that trying to take any of it would end quite badly. "When you say familiar," Markus asked, "Do you mean to say that the creatures here are extensions of the Warlock's mind?"

What kind of world was this, whatever could be said it was anything but natural. The Warlock lair world... place gave off an aura of terror, the completely alien landscape didn't help matters in the least. Anica felt fear rising but right then was not a time to panic, not at all. Dora made it clear soon as they stepped through the portal there was no way out until they finished the job. Anica closed her eyes and breathed deeply as to stomp down the steadily rising fear, don't panic and don't run. She pulled her cowl over her head, it was time to get serious, she summoned her spear and stared at it for just a moment, it was a deadly weapon was she sure the she was ready to wield it? Ancia shook hear head, no way could she be having doubts now, she added a strap to her spear something simple as a leather band. She threw the spear over her shoulder, it was good to have it summoned and ready, but also keep both her hands free at the same time. "We.. uh we should keep moving, walk and talk. Standing in one place for too long might not be the best idea, heh sure you can fill us in on what to expect right Dora?" Goddamn why was her voice shaking so much, Ancia inhaled again trying to keep her nerves steady.

Tracy shivered with excitement, although to anyone else she would probably just look nervous. She fought to keep the grin out of her face. It wouldn't do to look happy when they could all potentially die here. The girl tightened the grip of her hands in anticipation. What kind of monster was this Warlock, that it could create a world so messed up it made her head dizzy just looking at it? More importantly: _How would they fight it?_ Is it something that would take only one of them to defeat? That other girl, the moody one, she seemed experience, but she didn't strike Tracy as the kind to form a party with anyone, so perhaps she hunted alone? Tracy realized that she had a lot of question that she wanted answered. "So . . . what next ladies?" said Tracy as nonchalantly as she could. She saw Markus and Anica summon their weapons and she was struck with an idea. She summoned her own bright gauntlets and decided to test her new idea out as soon as she could.

Felice, while surprised at how exactly the inside of the lair looked, wasn't surprised at the way it made her feel. Like it was trying to suck out her hope and courage...The whole area gave off this slight aura that made her feel that way. It wasn't to strong though, just like a quiet buzz that you could get used to after awhile. Felice was sure that if something that had a stronger aura got close, she would be able to detect it...hopefully. She looked down at her soul gem. With just her ability, she hadn't used to much of her power, so that was good. She might have to try and turn the ability up while she was in here. She just hopped that it wouldn't make the feeling this world was giving her worse. Felice was still kind of scared though...and hearing the uncertain, and even a little shaky tones of some of the others voice didn't do much to really improve that feeling. But Felice still walked up to the front of the group, and summoned her weapon, saying. "I guess I'll lead the way then...Being the navigator and all with my powers. I'll make sure to be on guard for anything trying to get close...or for the Warlock." Felice told them. Then she took a breath and took a step towards where she thought she was starting to pick up the Warlock's aura.

I'll make sure to be on guard for anything trying to get close...or for the Warlock." Felice told them. Then she took a breath and took a step towards where she thought she was starting to pick up the Warlock's aura. You detected a massive magical signature in the direction of the grey wall, or more specifically, under it. You quickly shared your findings with the others. "That's gotta be where the Warlock's hiding," Dora pondered. > "We.. uh we should keep moving, walk and talk. Standing in one place for too long might not be the best idea, heh sure you can fill us in on what to expect right Dora?" Goddamn why was her voice shaking so much, Ancia inhaled again trying to keep her nerves steady. "It may be hard to understand, but I'll try to explain what I can. Let's head there for now." > "When you say familiar," Markus asked, "Do you mean to say that the creatures here are extensions of the Warlock's mind?" Dora responded as you were crossing the omenous desert: "I haven't studied them exactly, but from my experience I can pretty much confirm it. They always seem to reflect the world and its master in some way, being its attendants and guardians. If you expect to simply waltz through this world unharmed, you would be dead wrong. > He glanced around for a moment, then looked to Dora, "What kind of creatures inhabit this place? Is there any way you can show me, or describe it well enough for me to make us look like that?" His intention was simply to have the element of surprise to their attack by using his illusions. He also thought that Felice would be able to help them avoid anything getting too close, as well as find their way to the warlock with little to no issue. "To be honest, I don't know. It is always different for each Lair what the world looks like or what kind of Familiars prowl there. We just have to hope for the best in that regard." However, suddenly her eyes grew sharp, and yellow ribbons burst from her hands like fireworks, taking on the form of sleek crossbows. You now saw in the distance strange monsters that resembled the scorpions of the human world in body shape, but with an abnormal appearance: their exteriors were composed of riot shields of various sizes, they had a pair of flash-lights on the fronts of their low torsos, their pincers were made of a mass of combat knifes, and their tails ended with the blade of a long-sword. Between the cracks of their bodies you could see their innards consisted of guns and rifles of different types. They were as large as a motorcycle, and seemed to originate from the grey wall, which you now realized seemed to be circling something. However, it didn't take long for them to notice you, and about twenty of them were coming closer, their legs made of bladed implements skittering them closer to your position with an unnaturally swift pace. "Everyone, get ready." Mimi had her crossbows at the ready while Tomoyo transformed. "These guys are packing heat."
