Another issue I'm getting, @ArkmageddonCat, is a bit of dissonance in your character sheet between what your character IS and what your character DOES.

Magical Reincarnate, awesome, double thumbs up. Modern Frankenstein Monster is not done enough in fiction, IMHO.

But this stuff about Rifts, phasing, teleportation, that seems to fit some kind of a magician or wizard rather than a construct (also, reads like abilities from a D&D book, and we have no dice to roll for success). This is@HeySeuss call as GM so treat this as a suggestion, but I think you should go into detail where his access to these "Rifts" and phasing powers come from, or come up with a few new powers.

The electricity powers I love, and could definitely fit into the arsenal of a construct.

@Trinais, I've taken your suggestions into account and have remodeled my character. Please alert me should anything else remain an issue. It's been over a year since I've made an RP character so I'm a little rusty...that, and I never considered myself all that great or fond of writing out character personalities and/or histories...

I guess that's dependant on the RP, though...

If this revision doesn't work I have...well...one other suitable character. Suitable, at least, for opposing Nemsemet.

If there's still room I would like to call a spot. Is there? Turn me away if there's too many. I won't be offended.

Well, my other big problem, upon review, is that the character doesn't really relate back to a discernible mythology or superstition, in addition to still kind of overlapping too much with teapotshark's character, Beth. I think if you have another concept, it might be best to try that one out, keeping in mind that it's best to sort of ground the character in some sort of myth. The myth doesn't have to be entirely (or mostly) accurate, but there should be a gram of truth in there.

If there's still room I would like to call a spot. Is there? Turn me away if there's too many. I won't be offended.

It's still open, though it's starting to get unwieldy, so I'll be cutting it off real soon here.

Incidentally, character development hooks I came up with were a clued-in mortal. People that know about the supernatural do exist. While the Court doesn't want their existence in general knowledge, it doesn't molest relatives or others that are clued in out of hand, though such mortals may be warned or dissuaded from spilling the beans to the press; often, the retaliation savages their careers and reputations, and may just well land them in jail, because the Court plays dirty, has lots of sources and is very adept at subversion. On the other hand, the Court protect members from harm in cases where they have a feud with said mortal -- it concerns itself with keeping the secret of the supernatural unknown to the bulk of humanity and punishing unnecessary exposure. That means that personal disputes, including violence, are only really a Court matter when the Court finds itself compromised to the larger world; it swoops in to get rid of security cam footage, hush up the witnesses and clean up the mess in general and then punishes the offender for their deed.

In short, the clued-in mortal might well be a very adept supernatural hunter that is still just mortal. Then again, Frank Castle (the Punisher) is 'just' mortal and he's a dangerous badass of the highest order.

Just a thought on character ideas.

@HeySeuss

...Ohhh...well...shiet...

Uhm...if my current character concept doesn't work because it's not relatable to a true mythology or superstition, I have two possible characters left...

One is an easily enraged and very destructive magma-type elemental, but he's more likely to side with chaos.

And the other is...more or less the byproduct of secret human experimentation with magic, with a whole conspiracy-cover-up-thingy, and shit happens, has to deal with animalistic rage, and...y'know is supposed to control it, more shit happens, kills a bunch of people, and that's as far as I really got with him...may have missed some killing...but...I mean, that's all related to a conspiracy rather than a myth or superstition.

Edit: I also have created/attempted a psychotic shapeshifter, but out of my two tries I only got it right once. Coincidentally, this shape shifter was teamed up with that hot-headed elemental the one time I played the character right.

Well. My character was actually going to be a normal human. That's exactly what I was going for.

Added Question - Is the federal government at all involved with monsters?

Incidentally, to get character sheets figured out, I'm pushing this whole 'first post' thing a day back, but that's because I had a very busy day today and a huge interview.

Is it too late to wish you good luck getting the job?

Edit: Void/Rift powers have been removed from my current character sheet. I wanted them, but then I remembered that all the times I ever played that character right was when I only had electricity. It was a different concept of the same character that used void, but I never got to use that version cause the RP I applied him for had died.

That does open up a possibility to replace my current character with that alternate concept...

Certain officials are pawns of them, yes, but the institutions at large? Hell no.

They have those pawns to make sure there are no 'monster hunting' or 'paranormal regulation' bureaus in the government, fearing another inquisition. The Courts have significant resources to subvert the government and they use them to make sure the right people are intimidated into shutting down anyone that tries to use government resources against the supernatural in any sort of meaningful way.

Edit: Note that this sort of activity by the Court prevents the extremists from waging outright war on humanity to subjugate and rule them, it's a 'greater good' sort of thing. They do employ mortals to assassinate mortals, for reasons of plausible deniability.

Also, we have no clearcut heir to Caradoc de Lacy, so we'll proceed without. ;) Down with the system.

@Exie, like the vampire character you've got there!

One small request from me (and again,@HeySeuss can override me on this) but I think "A small arsenal" is too broad a statement. "A small arsenal of what" is my natural follow up question. Firearms, cool. Swords and knives, again cool. Magical items, now we're in murky waters and need an itemized statement lol.

Perhaps a clarification there is necessary.

Also, the "Yes, and" which ties you in to the larger group.

I assume the arsenal is normal mortal stuff, since specific magical items would probably need to be listed.

Yeah, I'm gonna hold up my response to let others get in their intro. But at least you have the sense of what's going on there. The aftermath of a battle and a lot of people getting ready to flee and hide.

And yeah, Nemsemet is pissed at the Isis thing.

Might want to make it a fast one, since the RP's already started.

Not a bad idea, but the Guild is pretty stable these days and mahz is no longer working in Mexico and is out of contact most of the time. I'm rating the possibility of this place going under like that again to be low.
