It's different because a Halal/Muslim diet provides ample nutrition.Forcing your kids to be vegan is starvation/malnutrition which means that Child Protective Services SHOULD get involved.

Well, it's true that children's stomachs aren't big enough to handle the amount of food it would require for sufficient nutrition.

But in the case of Idlehands I assume no children were involved. So, you know.

There's a difference. I'd be afraid of pissing off a Muslim but what's a noodle armed Vegan gonna do?

No children were involved, just a naive young woman from a city full of red meat eating folk.

E: K-97, I wish I could see what you posted but my work computer has filters that won't let me open hiders for some reason.

I'm a chef , so I hold extra hate for vegans. I work at restaurant where we cook Mediterranean food, we always have at least two or three vegetarian options for entrees and plenty of appetizers on our menu and some of these can be prepared vegan, no big deal.

What bothers me is most of the vegan/vegitarian crowd always seems to have every other dietary restriction and then about the lack of options. It's not my fault that Mediterranean food is loaded with fish, veal, lamb, pork, beef, cheese, butter, cream , shell fish, etc and you want ask vegan gluten free 100% organic dish with no nightshades onions or garlic while the two cooks have at least a dozen other things cooking don't want to stop and make something else

If your at all sensitive about food you shouldn't eat out. I don't do it but I've seen plenty of kitchens where the secret to that great vegetarian soup or burger is a little chicken base they forgot to tell ya about :-D

You know... there was a case where a man killed some women and fed their bodies to the pigs. These pigs were raised to be used in making makeup.

But then again, there's stuff like this:And I totally get why a vegan household would be upset about someone cooking meat and cheese. Of course some vegans are too zealous about it, but I wouldn't go around cooking pork in a Muslim kitchen. This isn't much different to me.

I think we have fundamentally different values, and any attempt by either side to convince the other is going to fail. To me, religious restrictions are in greater need of reverence than dietary ones.

Probably. Of course, you know, respecting people's ethical points of view (at least when you're in their home) is cool too.

I didn't know. I'm from Taco Town, USA. We don't like green foods here. I had never even met a vegan before going up there to Hippyville.
