"What do I think I'm doing?" The Pundambayan woman raised an eyebrow in confusion, this water sprite didn't know what was going on here? Was she ignoring Tordor? How little communication does this species have for them to be comfortable with ignoring everything?

Though Bita wasn't in the mood to explain how being summoned as a champion works, she did at least want to give this woman the benefit of knowledge. She locked her eyes towards Tordor, keeping her right hand raised in his direction. Readying herself to leap away, should he have some sort of ranged attack. With the tall man in her sights, she spoke again to Anna."I don't know why you or the others are here, but I was called here for the thrill of battle." Bita spoke with an air of frustration, talking to anyone but the opponent during combat was almost a guaranteed opening.

Putting it rather bluntly, by raising her voice and adding a little depth to her tone."Now, we can either fight now, water woman. Or we can fight later. I'd prefer later, but I can deal with now."

With the explanation to Anna out of the way, Bita turned her voice to Tordor.

"My name is Bita Noraha Stroma! I am the daughter of the Hero of Pundambaya, I am a great warrior of Pundambaya! My power is Desolation, and you are my next conquest!" Punctuating her sentence by raising her left arm and flexing it, a bit of posturing to show off confidence and put your opponent on guard. All the while making yourself look like a fool so they think they have the advantage of wit and experience.

While her father is actually a bit foolish, and his posturing was genuine. Bita's posing and posturing serves a distinct purpose. "Now, come at me with all that you have. Show me no quarter. Because I will show you none."

“We are here… to fight each other?” Anna was essentially talking to herself as she frowned in Bita’s direction. Behind her the young girl who was struck dumb all of a sudden was bowled over by her wave, causing her to slide away from the warring duo. Anna was trying to piece together what Bita had said, and came to the sudden realisation that the man was trying to explain things to her.

“So that is what he was trying to say… this is quite a distressing turn my day has taken.” Anna was evidently still talking to herself as Bita got around to posturing and telling Tordor her name in the background. Anna however wasn’t paying either of them a great of attention as she was want to do. She was always flighty even when alive… her death hadn’t changed that much.

However, the Spirit was beginning to see that the situation she was in meant that at least one of these two probably meant her harm. She did not like the idea of trying to fend off such obviously unnatural enemies without being in her natural habitat, but with no apparent options available (Anna having failed to receive the information on the option of surrendering) she still sought to prolong her unlife as best as possible. Her first step, to skitter away from the warring duo by collapsing into the puddle at her feet, her body eerily melting away.

Head low with hands to his sides observed his opponents while the dwarf women spoke. Before she eventually issued a challenge, while the water spirit slinked away apparently in some means of escape. Tordor sighed sounding tired. Then met the other woman's eyes with an unreadable gaze. The strap of black cloth covering the lower part of his face to hide a resigned smile.

“Hmm, if you say so.” A deceiving moment of silence seeming to follow; a pause before the storm. In one smooth motion Tordor’s greatcoat bellowed back as he draw forth Minx and Pixie from their respective casings. A metallic hiss followed, and in a blink of an eye, or in the realm of half a second Tordor had pulled his pistols free and leveled them at the own called Bita. To an observer it probably appeared as if they had suddenly transported themselves to his awaiting hands of their own accord.

“Let’s go,”

Pixie barked as ethereal power sparked into existence from the mouth of its barrel. The first shot flying toward and just blow the center of Bita’s neck. The second shot targeted toward her center mass slightly lower as Tordor dropped as he bent his right leg forward slightly preparing to move quickly. Meanwhile, Tordor watched and waited for his opponent's move, keeping Minx from unleashing its own barrage in order to allow for a quick response. The whirling sound of gears growing slightly louder as more aether was drawn into the sword scabbard on his back. The place of course was quite bare of life, so if he planned on using Blood Drinker he was forced to wait- least the simple act of touching the sword kill him. The handicap might certainly make things interesting….

The nether bolt's sped forward with strength and speed as if shot from a cannon. Lacking any kinetic energy themselves, they're corrosive nature would cut right through living flesh or un-living material with frightening ease. Unless it ended up hitting something already dead. In which cause the result would be either amusing or disappointing depending on one's point of view.

In the silence before her foe's assault, Bita had already began moving. Not towards Tordor, she headed towards Anna. The left rockets on her mobility pack flared and Bita kicked the ground with her right foot, watching her foe swiftly draw his weapons and fire off a pair of shots in her direction. The mobility pack and her kick sent her flying out of the way of the shots and pushed her towards the water sprite, though she wasn't intending to use her as a shield. Bita simply noted that Anna wasn't being particularly aggressive as of yet, and was likely waiting for one of them to kill the other so she would have an easier clean up.

Unfortunately for Anna, Bita knew this strategy all too well and was prepared to kill Tordor before she had even begun to grow tired. Though, as Bita flew in the direction that Anna had been standing in, she noticed that the watery individual had vanished. Invisibility? Stealth? Maybe she's behind her now? It didn't matter right now, Tordor was the focus.

As she rocketed to her left, Bita raised her left arm and strafed to position herself to aim both arms at Tordor. The halos on her hands and forehead flared up and unleashed three spears of crimson gold light from themselves, they weren't particularly aimed at any part of his body. Though they were fired in a triangle shape and in a straight line, so directional deviation would be limited. So they were roughly aimed towards Tordor's chest and gut, and each of them packed more than enough punch to drive through a normal man. Bita really needed to see one of these hit, she needed to gauge how tough he is so that she can use as little energy as possible in killing him.

Vextra sat at the glimmering, holographic keyboard and started at the equally manifested screen and sighed. Such antiquated technology. Liaison refused to allow the dust down this far, and though he promised a new shipment of specially modified materials, they were still far behind the rest of the Lobby.

Well, he was still far behind.

Liaison trusted no one with the battlefield changing mechanics except himself, and Vextra, a Negoturim from the Planet Negot in the Vex system of universes. Vextra had shown himself loyal when the fiercely technological man had given him plans for Negot's expanions into the often speculated Astral Matrix. Rumor had it that Liaison used the plans in negotiations with another planet, and earned himself some leverage in a vast amount of places, as well as was pioneering an Astral Matrix for the Lobby.

Vextra shook his head, and used his left hand to adjust the modified googles on his head. They were a special bit of technology that Vextra construted to counteract the backwoods holograms that he was forced to use. It allowed him to physically interact with it, as though he were somewhat of a God. Often, it was his hand people saw during the time freeze, whether or not they realized it.

Numbers and coordinates appeared and were saved into the massive database that could hold untold amounts of data. Vextra knew first hand how much space had been used, and that terrified him. All of Liaison's knowledge, spies, and workings had only managed to fill up the database by point zero zero zero one percent.

A ticker sound and his right eye shifted slightly to the right, viewing an image of the representing number of used space.

Make that point zero zero zero one one percent.

Turning back to the task at hand, he set himself into motion; left hand adjusting a microphone as the right reached into the holofram, immediately freezing all things time and space within the vicinity of the battleground.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I apologize for my tardiness. Heroine removed the field now changes.

Welcome to ...."

His hand reached out and touched the black blob like center in the middle, setting into motion the changing of such. Arena's blurred past, though the contestants and all eligible things, didn't drop a microinch. Suddenly it came to a stop.

"New York City!"

Despite the superheroine being gone, her Arena remained. No need to waste a perfectly good arena. He pulled his hand back, causing time to restart and the contestants to do with that as they would.

The battlefield suddenly changing without warning had a profound effect on Anna, caught in the middle of transitioning from one source of water to another, namely a small puddle she had formed when she first arrived. The change left behind her destination as the ground shifted and melded into a replica of a New York City street. Though the Wraith had no way of knowing this, something unusual had happened, she was suddenly bereft of her original destination and caught in a spiritual limbo. Unfortunately she had no real choice but to re-enter the living plain as quickly as possible, which in turn had the effect of dumping her in the first suitable water source.

She emerged quickly, realising that things had changed significantly in her absence. The Pond Hop had given her some idea of what had happened, but not enough, so when she realised she was no longer on the black amorphous blob but in fact knee deep in sewage water in the drainage system beneath the street, she was overcome with shock.

“Agh!” She spat, the unpleasant liquid staining her bare calves as with force of will alone she cleared a space for herself to stand, looking around her for the people she’d been talking with, and then avoiding. Quickly summarising she was actually under the street, she looked for some way out of the unpleasant situation she had found herself in, discovering a man-hole cover directly above her. Angry now, angry that she was being toyed with and angry that her abilities had led her into such a disgusting place she began to build pressure all around her, the water fed with her anger and coiling like a spring about her, eager to please it’s mistress. With an angry upraised hand it burst forth, slamming into the man-hole and blasting it up and into the air as the water escaped into the street like a geyser.

After that initial blast the water gingerly retreated to the feet of the Wraith, at her call becoming a stepping stone to carry her up and onto the street, slowly, so she could see what chaos the other two were causing. With plenty of liquid at her beck and call again, Anna was feeling more confident about her options for ending this unpleasant business and getting home.

Tordor watched as his nether bolts flew toward his target only for said target to manage to avoid his projectiles. Meanwhile, they fired off three more lances of pure energy. Now was as good a time as any to test a theory. He leveled his backup pistol and fired off two shots with pin-point accuracy. Not at his opponent, however, but at two of the javelins of light. The bolts of amethyst fire glided in a violent spiral motion before impacting directly into the lances of crimson. The contrasting powers of plasma and dark matter reacted viciously with one another, quickly breaking down as they dissolved into a dark magenta of swirling light. The force soon collapsed in on itself drawing bits of stone work and concrete into itself before expanding out again rapidly in a 6 diameter explosion sending bits of debris flying.

The last lance of energy he managed to dive to his right, the task made easier having to contest with only one spear. It was at this point Tordor noticed that they were no longer located on a non-descript blob of black mixing liquids and solids, but on another plane entirely. A city with rather high rise buildings, what looked to be some kind of abandoned vehicles, and lamppost.

This must be the element of the game he had been forewarned about, it’s tendency to change rather unpredictably. Coming up into a run from his roll Tordor took note of his new surroundings. A empty street with a light misting fog coming up from what looked to be sewer grates. The place was dark with a few flickering lamp lights. Reminding him instantly of the city of Five Fingers back in his former home realm.

His dash brought him in line with a dark ally some ten feet wide, entering it after firing another shot in Bita’s direction. More to keep her moving than to really do her harm. In the recesses of the alley planned his next move. It seemed his negative energy and his opponents own abilities served to cancel each other out. Effective for now, but that trick might not work twice.

“Using nether to absorb those attacks was a good idea boss. “ The gentle tone of the water spirit was quick to voice.

“We got lucky. What really worries me is the absence of that lake spirit. See if you can’t find her, she can't’ have gone far.”

”Sure thing boss!” Tordor soon sensed the soul of the drowned child slowly fad. Now given his immediates opponent's advantage in mobility Torder was going to need to even the field so to speak. With a swift twirl of his right hand pistol he holstered it and pulled free a disk from his belt. A simple throw forward sent the object several feet ahead, whereupon it unfurled then unfolded into a mechanical board of a dull silver grey. The hoverboard hummed as it floated almost a foot off the ground. With a running jump Tordor leapt forward, dark fire igniting under his feet as as he landed on the device.

A simple thought later caused the construct of mechanika to bolt forward, accelerating straight toward the wall at the end of the alleyway. Shifting weight to his back left leg, he titled it enough to allow the board to fly directly up the shear surface of the building. The whole process taking only a few heartbeats after entering the alleyway before Tordor was airborne. He soared to the top of the building hoping to use his new vantage point and speed to keep track of his opponents. It was likely they wouldn't even expect to look up in the first place as his hoverboard hardly produced any sound.

Strafing to her side was a good idea for evading the attack, as well as a good idea for going on the offensive. It was, however, a poor idea for someone who was about to teleport into the middle of some manner of city. Likely from the same planet as the individuals she was fighting, as it was clearly not of Pundambayan construction. She says that because she effortlessly plowed through the first story window of an office, if there were a receptionist inside they would have gotten the fright of their life. As an alien lifeform just plowed through their window, and they would probably get blamed for the destruction.

Picking herself up from the ground, she shook herself off a bit. Shards of glass had planted themselves in her suit, and they were proving to be a bit of a discomfort.

Standing there inside of the building, Bita raised both of her hands and leveled them with her shoulders. Aiming both to her left and right, she began unleashing two powerful beams of destruction, one headed back out the window that she came through, the other headed out through another window on the opposing side of the building. The warrior woman had lost sight of both of her foes, and she was trying to open up a better field of vision, all while putting up an offensive guard on both sides of her body.

Though her current target was the gunslinger, she had to be wary of the water being. Simply because it had demonstrated none of its abilities aside from water manipulation. There was a word of power that also demonstrated water manipulating abilities, it was hard to deal with on its own. And words of power only allow you one rather constrained ability, if this entity was unlike her kind, she might have a bigger problem on her hand than she can deal with.

With no one in sight and the streets eerily empty Anna slowly floated on her platform of water to the surface. Unbeknownst to her Tordor had already began jetting up to his up high platform, and Bita had just crashed into a building down the street and had disappeared from view. The road was littered with parked cars but there weren’t any people about, leaving Anna pretty much alone as she walked across the street and sat on the kurb, the water from the nearby sewer pouring outwards as if it were overflowing. The road was quickly growing saturated, noticeably so in fact, as Anna sat with her hands in her lap and a frown of intense thought on her face. She probably would have sat there for most of the day, filling the road with a knee deep cover of water, but she was rudely interrupted by Bita’s destruction beam cutting through the air above her after destroying a nearby car.

Luckily for Anna, she was not at Bita’s shoulder-height while sitting on the kurb, and so escaped being harmed. She was however very annoyed with the situation, having realised she narrowly avoided an unwanted haircut. She still couldn’t see Bita, so she couldn’t know for sure she had been the one to attack her, but she had seen a similar attack launched on Tordor earlier.

“That woman.” Anna spat indignantly “I’m going to give her a piece of my mind!”
