Putting these two together gave me a very odd visual of an old man saying to an old woman, "Romantic... I haven't done that in a while, but I can give it that good old college try," as they use their walkers to hobble to bed.

To bed? no.. it's an adventure play. They're having this conversation on the bank of the mighty river of doom... Chainmail aggregating their arthritis.

Here's one I wrote up the other day. About a guy and a girl in a car, having that conversation on the first date about expectations...

“A bold faced lie it would have been too,” Jonas spoke, sparing a sideways glance towards his companion as they pass through the darkness, only the dim lights on the dash, harsh azure against the velvet black, and the warm glow of headlights the only light as they passed from the city proper to a darkened street. Like anywhere in the city, there was more than one way to go about things, and it seemed everyone had their own way of doing it, no two ways alike. Jonas liked the isolation one could expect from residential roads and neighborhoods at night. No lights, little traffic… in a world where solitude seemed a precious commodity, one learned to take it where one could find it, and appreciate it when it was around. The radio played a soft tune, an old guitar melody, harsh and aloft with the sounds of the late 70’s, early 80’s. His words easily spoke above the music, which was kind enough to stay in the background, a subtle accompaniment of their night. “All men care about sex. What makes them deny is it fear of being perceived as we actually are, sex-crazed. You see, we know that women know this about us, but we are more comfortable with the delusion that you haven’t figured it out yet.” He spoke, as he pulled his phone from his pocket, tossing it into the center console of the car, as he slowed, took a right hand turn, down another residential road.

“And yes, we know it’s delusional. We know that it’s not the best approach to the situation,” he spoke, continuing to lay out his version of what men think, as though you can explain the beast in psychological terms. Jonas continued to shoot her quick glances, to judge her continued humor with the situation, as though choosing carefully how far to go, or perhaps looking for some indication that he should stop, find a new topic of conversation. He saw no such sign, and though this does not precluded the existence of it, it simply means he hadn’t noticed if such a sign had presented itself. He was hardly the most attentive to detail, it was actually to be listed amongst one of his weaknesses, not his strengths.

“I know, you’re probably thinking why do we persist then. It’s actually quite simple. Because in those moment, when the decision has to be made, our brains are actually functioning on an acute and temporary blood loss,” He cracked a smile, telegraphing his joke, while he turned his car again, this time to the left. They moved slowly, 25 mile an hour speed limits making the drive feel somewhat relaxing, luxurious. He adjusted the temperature in the car, cutting the heat up to accommodate the woman’s damp exterior.

“But you are absolutely correct. Intentions should be well known. But, and please do not take offense, if you were to see twelve caged tigers, each in their own cages, each eating a zebra leg. When you came to the thirteenth, would you seriously expect him to be enjoying a nice salad? Should not the same be said about men?” He spoke, as they pulled up to a stop sign. This time he turned to her, looking at her eyes, as though to pose the question properly. “If you know, as women do, what is on our minds, does it need to be properly stated? Can’t we simply skip by the awkward conversation in which I confess to you my intent to take you home at the end of the night, strip you down to your skin, and fuck you until the world dissolves into a dozen shades of purple and green, and you cannot move for the sheer exhaustion of it all.”

Jonas turned himself back around, faced the road, and again the car started forward.

It's modern day, btw. Probably should have mentioned that first.

Preference? As in, would I play such a thing? Yes. Do I prefer it? Dunno. Depends on the partner. I have in the past. I believe the outcome was favorable. -tilt- but that is a very vague and open ended question. So lets narrow that down, shall we?

High fantasy, polytheistic religion, epic adventure (world is gonna go to shit if we don't), mature (sex? or swearing, cussing, gore, and the like. Please define. What I mean is, the story revolves around an angel that had been shot out of the skies by demons and is now in search of the flaming Sword of Eden, which can send any demon back to Hell. As she escapes the demons by the skin of her teeth, she meets a half-demon, and together they try to prevent the Demon King Xerxes, who isn't Satan btw, from bringing Lucifer to earth

Possible sex, more than likely cussing. They are probably not going to be old, as they are mythological beings not known to physically age very far

Really, really liking the idea of a fantasy story right now. Something that develops a romance, and then turns in such a way that puts the lovers on the opposite side of something big, to such a degree that they doubt each other. It's something of a current longing.

Give me a span of posts, freedom to develop, and I promise I can make you feel it. That's a promise.

@Carantathraiel Setting: (brief) The city of Ilar, in the southern plains of the known world, on the banks of the River Tyren. The city is an epicenter of civilization for the region. The city is divided into three large pieces. The first being the Commons, which houses the docks, the workshops, and markets the city needs to run its economy. The commons takes up a good half of the city's actual square footage. The second piece is the University: the only school of higher education in the region, a privilege of nobility mostly, but some with true skill and talent can find a place there. It's largely self contained, self governed. The third piece is the Noble Quarter, which provides the home for the regional Duke, as well as inns and housing for all visiting lords and ladies.

Plot: (brief) It is said that where people gather together, corruption arises, surely the City of Ilar is no exception. She is as blemished as she is radiant. With brothels and drug lords, cutpurses, thieves, mercenaries, money lenders, and just your average crooks as well as a number of religious figures, doctors, saints and all around decent people. The Commons has a number of churches, both large and small, the university teaches everything from modern philosophy, to magic, to the religious doctrines of all the major religions, to skills of war and battle. The Seven masters govern the University, while the Iron Law of the Duke rules the lands otherwise, but coin rules them all. We start off in this world, establishing ourselves, two university students who will be caught up in the world around them. A rumor will travel on the wind, the death of the King, his heir, and the end of his line. The Duke of Ilar, seeing his opportunity, calls to arms the city militia, his own forces, and the skilled magics of the University in order to secure the throne. But the Seven masters refuse, claiming the Duke has no authority to command them to war, and they would not spend the lives of their precious students in such a conflict.

It's pretty character driven, and open to a wide array of twists and turns. If you're interested, I can start working up a character here shortly. I've already got a few ideas running through my head.

@Kefka Palazzo I think I am. To nutshell the summary, we're two students being protected by the Seven masters while the city it being warped by the Duke.
Time period, I'd assume, is medieval ish? Horse carriages and torches?

This has me the most interested. I love tension. Its fun to play with.
