Mekkah giggled a bit at him, finding his looks repulsive but knowing she wouldn't get a chance to be around a vampire very often. She decided to test which of the tales were true. The romantic men cursed with an aliment that they suppress with love, or the savage monsters who gave into insanity to feed their bloodlust.
"Kansan is much of a drinker, he comes her for me...to get me that is." She said, knowing he was on his way as it was.
"Tell me. Have you ever drank the blood of a genie?"

There was a short silence as the vampire tried to comprehend if the djinn was pulling his leg. He scratched the back of his head and for just a moment his haughty, cold mask broke as he let out a little laugh - a sincerely amused one. "Take no offense, m'lady, but I was not aware your kind had any blood in your veins." Martel shook his head apologetically and shook his head. "Just shows how much I know now does it not?" He wasn't going to admit out loud that Mekkah was the second genie he had ever seen.

Lyn stiffened.
"I have nothing personal against you, Lord Corbanet. I cannot say the same for the views of my order. As long as you keep your fangs out of humans and genies, I'm sure that we will get along perfectly well," she said, before holding out her hand to shake his, "You can call me Judgement."

"I do not quite understand why your order seems to have something against me - not just my kind in general - let me ask you this. Have I been such a thorn in their side that I'd earn their ire? Have I preyed on the innocent for my own amusement? No, I do not prey on the innocent. Not for amusement or need." Martel shook his head and rolled his eyes. "To ask me not to consume blood is like asking me to succumb in to madness. Still..." The tall man grinned, baring his fangs and shook the offered hand. "I will admit it is actually relieving to meet someone of your order that does not immediately wish to see me slain, m'lady Judgement."

"I believe that everybody has the right to be judged by who they are, not what they are. My order disagrees with how your 'Raven Company' go about their jobs. Based on what I've heard, I would be inclined to agree with them. If I may ask, what is you and your mens business here?" She asked.

"We keep the peace. Some of the smaller villages hired us to patrol the roads and keep their trade caravans safe. Now, I am here personally just to ask the good Emperor's permission for such an act." The tall man shrugged his shoulders. "If the Emperor says no then we'll just leave the villages undefended. After all it is not honorable to go against the orders of a sovereign."

Lyn narrowed her eyes.
"Very well. I understand the restrictions placed on a force as large as yours. Luckily, I have no such restrictions placed on me," she said, a smile briefly flitting across her face before disappearing, "I'm sure the Emperor will not disallow your actions. I've never had anyone stop me."

After a long while of nonstop dancing and prancing, Emma finally decided that it was time to take a breather. She leapt onto a barstool next to some girl. She called over the bartender and asked for another mug of the normal ale. The bartender grabbed a mug and poured the alcohol, before setting it down in front of Emma. Emma took a large sip of the drink, before turning to the pale, silver-haired girl. "'Ello, miss!" She then was silent for a few seconds, before saying, "You 'ave very silva hair..."

"Is that so..?" Though Martel forced a little smile to his lips his tone had gone a tad bit colder - though still not to an impolite degree. "Now what if I outright told you that we'd keep the peace even if the Empreror says no? If the outlying towns and villages suffer the entire land suffers. You can believe whatever you wish of my kind, but know this. I may be a monster, I may be a man with a small army behind me, I may be many other horrible things... Just remember this 'Judgement'. Though I am what I am these lands are still dear to me. The people - be they peasant or nobility - deserve to be protected. Now, I am not saying that the standing army is not doing their work properly, but they can not be everywhere at once." The tall man shook his head and shrugged his shoulders. "Your dear order doesn't see the nobleman from the monster. Hell, I keep to my word, avoid unnecessary casualties when it is possible and even offer more manageable pay contracts to those in need of aid."

"You think I agree with everything my order says? Why do you think I'm unbound? You want to talk about separating what you are from who you are?" She snapped at him, her eyes glowing bright blue for a second, a white fire forming around her clenched fists, "You don't know shit. I wish that you and yor army could protect all the lands at once, permission or not. Hell, I wish I could do it. But you can't. I'm only allowed to roam free because of who I am, what I am. Do you know what a burden like that is like? All people see when they look at me is my father."
She took a breath, the glow slowly fading from her eyes. She brought her fist up and slowly uncurled it, the fire fading.
"I'm sorry Lord Corbanet. That was uncalled for. I know that the order has been hounding more than usual in these pasy few months."

"Eva been to Lamingston? If ya 'aven't, I wouldn't recommend it. Bloody boring place. Most boring place I've been. But that's where I was born an' raised. The name's Emma by the way." She said, wiping a bit of sweat from her forehead, then drank more ale. She was absolutely drenched in sweat from dancing and the overall heat of the room.

Surprisingly Martel took a cautious step backwards while still keeping his hands away from his weapons. "I can assure you it is quite alright. No harm done." He was not afraid of the woman, merely cautious. "Now, just to make sure we are on the same proverbial page here... Was that some kind of divine energy I just felt?" The tall man glanced over his shoulder and gave his men a quick hand sign informing them that there was no cause for alarm. "Now, m'lady. Though I doubt mercenary life would quite suit you I am still going to make you an offer. Now, worry not. I am a man who can take a no for an answer." The little smile was back. "You do not have to make a decision immediately of course. Let's just say if you ever need a place to rest or a few coins the Raven Company would welcome you with open arms." Martel made a little bow. "Maybe you could spy our doings for your order and give them less a reason to be hounding us?"

"Ever heard of the ice guardians? We're an elite troupe of fighters. Only the most skilled and gifted are allowed to join." "Were not really known anywhere but in the villages of the Theiren." "I'm a Theiren myself actually" "I'm from the village of scrooth." It's lovely up there. And when I say 'up there' I mean it's on top of a mountain. It's like snowy spring there every day. But it might be a bit cold for a non-Theiren because Theiren's are immune to cold and heat." " that's why our body's radiate cold and we are warm to the touch." "Look" she sed as she held her hand close to Emma for a few seconds then touched her hand.

"It was divine energy. My father was an angel. As I said, you're not the only one whose judged on what you are. There's no need to be cautious. Im not going to hurt you," she said, "As for your offer, thank you, but I shall have to decline. Though we may sometimes disagree, I am still a warrior of the Light. However, I will see if anything can be done regarding the treatment you've been receiving. My name holds quite some weight back home."
She stared at him, her eyes completely normal now.
"You are far different than I expected, Lord Corbanet."

"Oh I am not worried that much about you hurting me. I'd just prefer not to cause a ruckus before a have a chance to speak with the emperor, that's all." Martel smiled faintly and shook his head. "Well, my offer still stands if you ever change your mind. Also I thank you for your kindness." He paused for a moment and rolled his eyes. "Different what you expected, m'lady? Did you perhaps think me an inhumane monster who causes milk to curdle, women to misscarry and cattle to die by the power of my presence alone? Or perhaps you thought me a raving lunatic whom revels in bloodshed? Admittedly a part of me is like that, but I'd rather keep it well in check. It's not good for the publicity of the Raven Company if my bloodlust would get the better of me, now would it?" The tall man spread his arms slightly and smiled.

"I'm not sure. Vampires I've encountered previously have always had their own selfish agenda. You, on the other hand, seem to genuinely want to help people," Lyn said, "I've only encountered a few vampires who are truly good. And most of them are the heads of the ancient clans. Only had the pleasure to have a conversation with one."
She paused for a moment.
"I hope the Emperor arrives soon. I don't like my time to be wasted."

"Of course I have my own selfish agenda! That's just not because I am a vampire. Can you claim that humans in general do not have their own selfish agendas? My agenda has nothing to do with me being a decent person." Martel rolled his eyes and again shook his head. "Can't I help people while at the same time furthering my own selfish goals? What do you think, m'lady?"

Suddenly bursting through the door was a man taller than most, but was surprisingly lean. From his pale skin and pure colored clothing made of rich fibers he was undoubtedly a man of higher status. On his side was a small yet wide dagger that was very curved, it was obviously a jimbaya, even in the proudly worn leather sheath made of very high quality material. His left portion of his face was a huge piece of scar tissue that covered a little less than half of his face. His eyes where a very light blue, the burnt one especially so. He stood tall and the already fairly quiet tavern came to a silence, a few men nodding to him, most going to their knees before he shook his head to stop. Behind him where two steel cases around the bodies of guards, each of them equipped with a pike they used like walking sticks, and a very short arming sword at their waist. He scanned the area before walking towards the djinn, a straight face the whole time.
"Hello Kanaan...fancy meeting you here"
"Yes, I know the usual speech, I'm more interested in this group you have created...none of them seem very at home in my kingdom, let alone this tavern. Perhaps they would care to elaborate"

Martel spun on his heels and made a very proper and polite bow. "Ah, wonderful! You must be the Emperor then. Though you have perhaps heard of me allow me to still provide you with proper introductions. I am Lord Martel Corbanet, commander of the Raven Company mercenaries." He straightened up and smiled politely. "Now, I would hate to sully this fine establishment with my presence any further so I hereby inquire from you if my men and I could provide protection to the outlying villages - for a fee of course."
