@The Muse I think we finish the day first. But I would be fine with skipping to Summer.

@The Muse You already know what I think, but I'll put it in the open. xD I would go ahead and skip to Summer. I don't anticipate any more entertaining bits happening in the current day, so continuing on with the day might just feel like a drag for most people.

I'm down one character though since Kylie is getting REFORMED, so I'm biased. xD Wes could do something, but eh... I'd rather just get to where he's filming his movie. >.<

It'll be a shame losing the ElliotxOllie reunion scene, but I'd also rather skip ahead than finish the current day. The day's already slowed to a crawl.

There is probably plenty of ways to revitalize the IC without resorting to a new thread/time skip, right? I mean I just joined so the fact that I posted to get my character going and initially established to only have that post swept under the rug is kind of disheartening. I know it stays in continuity, but it feels like my post is pointless in being there now.

It's a fair point. I'm not completely opposed to finishing up the current day before doing the timeskip.

I mean, the best way revitalize it is to skip the current day since nothing is happening and no events are planned, which means it would be rather unenjoyable. So either way, there would a skip involved, otherwise the whole RP might die due to lack of activity.

There’s also the idea of just having people post or leaving them behind/ghosting them? If people are going to be inactive, timeskipping or thread switching is not going to suddenly inspire them. All it will do is leave inspired new players like myself disheartened from posting.

*Cough*

Not to alienate two people with one post, but I really think you're both right to a degree. Vicious is more worried about motivating the playerbase already here, many of which have lost inspiration yet still want to do the RP (Not to put words in his mouth or anything).

I also think we need to avoid alienating our new blood, especially if part of the point of this is... getting some new blood into the RP. Which is why I'd be fine playing out the current day and giving our newer players time to interact before the big timeskip.

Ultimately, I'm not a GM or COGM, so bugger my opinion.

My worry is that characters won't have anything to do. So sure we can keep this day going, but with a good majority of people unmotivated for it, I can guarantee nothing will happen. So new characters are unlikely to be involved with anything fun.

We want everyone to have an enjoyable time, not drag through monotony.

As far as I'm concerned, the inactivity of some people, even main, has dropped expeditiously, may it be because of school or whatever and not many individuals have been giving us legitimate excuses. We can only assume who is truly still willing to continue this journey on with us. It is not our job to inspire people to write in a roleplay they chose to join. Don't join a roleplay if you can't get your character to make things happen and don't join a roleplay if you can't accept the decisions of the GM. It's common courtesy for those who have joined a game to be part of the roleplay for the long haul. We made this roleplay for people's enjoyment: it's a freeform character driven based roleplay. Roleplayers disappearing without notice is kind of, pardon my language, fucking annoying. It's respectful to us, who actually took the time to make this game for people, if you are all honest about your feelings, which I thank you Gowi for stating your opinions. For all we care, we can kick out all those people we assume our inactive for their lack of respect.

I understand your feelings about having a post go to waste, but I don't necessarily agree with you because an intro post, regardless if your person is interacted with or not, is an establishing post of your character. Whatever is in IC is not a waste because it gives us, your audience, a better understanding of your character. As a roleplayer, you must adapt with the changes of the game. It's not like we made the change yet, but all three authority figures think it's the best option, even if we do understand where you are all coming from.

Regardless, Muse and Vicious are trying to revive the roleplay and the best way to do that is a clean slate: a new day, with an event that gives characters something to achieve within that day.

In this type of matter, I'm one of the least forgiving although Muse and Vicious have far more bite than me. If we don't do something soon, Secrets will die. I will be perfectly honest. The heartbeat has stopped weeks ago and now we're trying to address the issue. No one is inspired with this day and not everyone is capable of causing something out of the ordinary to happen.

The big event of the day has passed where Kylie's secret got out of the bag and Riley was triggered, for one reason or another.

What more do you think we can do?

Those are all very valid and legitimate points to make— a sandbox RP has to make hard decisions when it loses its rhythm. I know from experience of running a few of these type of games that you’re right in thinking something has to be done to get the gears turning again. Whilst I disagree with the point of me posting immediately in the RP and establishing my character through an introduction post to suddenly be made aware: “Oh, by the way, we’re refreshing and moving on.” – like, you can see my frustration there right?

I will respect whatever decision you make involving the fate of the RP, and I feel time skip or not I still have momentum with my first character but I do feel if I had been know this before posting I would’ve just waited for the ‘season 2’ thread or whatever.

The frustration is understandable, but we weren't really sure what we were going to do. We're not perfect. We apologize that you joined at an awkward state.

Yeah, I’m not mad or anything nor am I going to drop the RP over it— I just came in at a bad time and I should adapt to the decision the GM staff makes. It’s just kind of awkward for me, but I’m still invested in seeing where my character goes so I am in here for the haul at the moment.

I still have plans for today. I'd rather finish the day out. But at the same time I can adapt the plans for after the time skip.

I dont know if any of the Reeses should have anything major going on right, considering their sister has just been found out to be incestuous and shipped off to a mental facility for a while. That's kind of an upsetting situation that puts a damper on the day. xD

Any plans that any Reese's had for the day are kind of ruined xDD which makes half the cast... unable to do much today. I know Riley for one won't be leaving the treehouse anytime soon (because this situation sparked up more than a simple "my twin is insane").

I mean, the rest of the day could be focused on the non-Reeses but as far as Nana goes... she'll be eating an early dinner at Elliot's but that's about it, maybe rejecting Wes' wedding proposal too

If the plan is to do hiring for the diner, we can just reiterate that after the time skip. An interview post with just NPC's probably wouldnt be worth the effort. Haha
