@smarty0114 If I were to make a Canadian character (who fled to the Griffins at some point) would it be alright to take a few minor liberties as to how Canada is run? I know it's under Lucille's control and all that, I was mainly considering the way normal humans are treated.
Also, is traditional electricity/energy (like what we use today) still relevant? Or is everything more or less magically run? I want to make my character the child of an oil refinery mechanic, but I don't know if things like oil drilling are still in effect. Thanks!

@Obscene Symphony That's fine if you take a few liberties with Canad. Due to it's lower population, it would be under much less scrutiny than America and some European countries. Also, most things are run magically by now, but that didn't go into full effect until a few years ago, and most humans still use oil and gas and what not for their appliances since they don't have access to magic.

@Nevix The pictures thing isn't really mandatory I've just always liked to have multiple gifs of my characters so I can show them in a range of different emotions. It's really just a personal preference.

Also, if anyone has ideas for Lucille's faceclaim, feel free to shoot them at me, since I'm doing her CS right now. Sort of stuck between Lena Headey, and Viola Davis.

Nate is a Mentalist who is better at Telepathy and Mind Control.

Skills

• Decent with his fists: He is oddly decent at punching people. Course this is not his preferred way of fighting. He prefers to use his powers.
• Telepathy: Nate can read people's mind with enough time. However he never does it unless he allowed to or the person being read is part of the The Empress' Army or the SWO. It is quite painful when he focuses his power on someone. He is rather good at getting intel even when the person does not want to give it.
• Mind Control: Nate can control or dominate the mind of an individual. It can range from giving them a suggestion to do something, all the way to forcing them to do as he commands. So far he is only able to do this to only one person at a time and it hurts do this for very long.
• Telekinesis: Not really his forte. He sometimes can move small light objects.
• Seeing the Future: Not really. Very rarely he can see what may come to pass but it is hazy and vague at best.

Personality

If one was to look up the definition of mercurial, they would find a nice little picture of Nate. He can be impulsive and brash at times. Other times he can he calm and collected. It all seems that he changes at the drop of the hat. It is almost as if it is random. However he usually is calm and a rather likable guy. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder as big as a boulder. He always needs to be proving himself.

History

Nathan McClain was the illegitimate of one noble families in Decorum. His mother was a lowly sorcerer and his father was some high ranking noble. That was what he had been told by his mother when he was young. Nate lived a rather decent life until his seven birthday. His mother mysteriously died leaving Nate an orphan. He then grew up in a Norm orphanage even though he had powers. He used his magic to keep his fellow orphans safe. He would trick the cruel old matron into thinking that they were asleep or trick her into hearing some sort of fake noise in an other room. This upbringing made him see the injustices around him. Nate ran away from the orphanage at the age of sixteen. It was then that he ran into Mercer.

Jeremiah Mercer was a rogue sorcerer who took in the young Nate and helped him hone his skills. Just like Nate, Jeremiah was a Mentalist. He helped teach Nate the arts of the mind and how to help the rebellion in Decorum. Mercer showed Nate how to get information even if they do not want to talk about it. However, Mercer gave him his code of conduct. Nate was never to use his powers on the innocent. Then he would be no better than the WOS or the Wicked Old Sorcerer and her cronies. He showed Nate that there was chance of this revolt winning in the end. Eventually, Jeremiah pointed his protege towards the Griffins. Nate was a good fit and has been with the group for a year now.

Personality

From a realistic standpoint, it makes no sense for Callum to be involved in this sort of revolution. He’s mild-mannered, and doesn’t care much for combat. Yet anyone who knows him is aware that above his distaste for war, is an infinitely strong desire to protect. He worries very little about himself, instead occupying himself with the well-being of his friends. Since he considers everyone to be his friend, this is no simple task. He hopes that the war draws to a close as soon as possible, as he hates seeing anyone die. For his belief in humanity, many call him naive.

History

Callum was born to an Irish-American at the height of the Norm persecution of Sorcerers. He and his mother once stayed up 24 hours straight healing his father after a mob attacked him. He was in the minority of Sorcerers who did not fault the Norms for the violence, his best friend of many years was a Norm. When the enslavement began, he dnd his family hid the friend in their basement. When the authorities found him, Callum’s mother and father tried to stop them from taking him. Callum’s mother and father were killed, and his best friend was grievously wounded. Callum came home from med school that day and tried his hardest to heal his friend, but he failed. Callum developed a crippling fear of failure and ran away, now a wanted man. He wandered for several years, finally finding the Griffins as a place to use his powers for the good of everyone. He’s remained there for a little less than a year.
