Yep, plus our intro is pretty plain to begin, since it just needs to kick things off. Given time, they'll be less dry and awkward I'm sure.

It's a dependent-on-partner intro for sure. We know why they're there, just a lot of dialogue to be exchanged so the replies feel more casual than advanced. This isn't a section you want to linger on forever. At least it gives me some time to warm up with Kurama, so there's that.

Nah, we don't want to linger on the intro/the first day for long. I think we need to keep things moving, IC wise since I know that was an issue for us at times. I think once we even more to Kurama and Botan having dinner at his place, her settling in and meeting his mom, it'll be good.

Speaking of that, we didn't want his mother to be a huge part of this, right? Other than a quick introduction I think we can just mention her in passing?

She may be key in pushing Kurama and Botan together and I do think Botan would want to help her but I don't see it being a major role. I think she'd be a NPC though, nothing big or anything.

I'm gonna go take a walk with the dogs but I'll be back tonight to try and get something up.

You think she'd ship them openly? Like, you think she's actually that super embarrassing mom who's all, "Kurama, make sure you leave the door open when you study," just to fuck with him? Or would she play it kinda cool and just not say anything but, you know, announce when she's going to bed and she'll have ear muffs in or something? Momma got no chillllll.

Aww <3 I see her adoring Botan more than Kurama is prepared for. I don't remember if she knew about the Yoko portion of him, but if she doesn't I think it would be interesting if he had to confess to her what exactly he is, and what he's been up to since meeting Yusuke. Then, knowing Botan's identity. Would be nice if Kurama finally got tired of having to be dishonest about where he is with his own mother.

Ugh I thought we both agreed our first posts wouldn't be that great and then you post that godly intro. GDI Genkai, you love making me look bad :C

I don't think his mom knows about him but it might be nice of her to know in case something did happen in the future. I do think his mom was pretty thoughtful and sweet so I think she'd take the news alright.

I tried to pull my post back and include only necessary info, I'm not exactly happy with it...but I don't write to make you feel bad. :/

She sits there and understands that Shuichi is partially a demon and within him is the spirit of a very old one that grants him powers beyond her imagination, and that cute girl he brought home is technically the Grim Reaper, but he'll call her the one who guides the deceased to the next life. She's just totally cool with it.

Sigh... well, so long as you know it'll be an underwhelming response from me. I'll try to get something up tonight if my inner critic doesn't tell me that I'm in over my head.

Let's hope it doesn't give the poor woman more health issues but I think by now she's grown to love her son and enjoy the company of a cheery grim reaper. Let's just hope she doesn't have to see any real fighting though or she might be pretty overwhelmed. Maybe Botan can convince Kurama it's time to let his mother in on his secret life. I mean where did she think he was during the Dark Tournament?

I hope you're able to get something up...it's always hard to start but I really want you to think more positive. You keep comparing us and it's really starting to make me uncomfortable and I'm sure it's not that helpful for you either. This is gonna be fun and we should treat it as such, not some competition or chore.

Good question. I suppose he gave her a convenient excuse before departing, like some small group trip to the West to study or something or other. Maybe later his mother can see what he has to deal with for the benefit of everyone else. Kurama might be sad that he has to show her that he isn't the son she thought she had, but maybe Botan can speak about the good things he's done to keep her happy and safe. That would go equally for everyone else in the city. Kurama's pretty modest unless he's pissed, and hopefully mama Minamino won't have to see his rage.

Okay, first try. Wanted to get into the analytical side of him on this and have him so deep in thought that it's beginning to hurt the guy. Botan's arrival was timely--almost too timely--so if he's busy thinking about these random suicides, and Botan shows up out of the blue without being prompted at all, he's going to put it together that there might be something to all of this. Hope it was okay.

I'm sure Botan would be a good advocate for Kurama, I think she wants him to be happy and honest and I feel like at some point, Kurama has to feel a little bad about being so deceptive when it comes to his mother. He probably doesn't need to go into too much detail with his power or his past with Yoko, but I feel like she'd be grateful that Yoko was able to help give her a son and to look after her.

It just bums me out when you're so hard on yourself and sometimes I feel bad when you compare us, when we're a team. :/ I know you're a fantastic writer and I just hope you know that you're one too.

i think it's good he intuitive. It looked like a very good post to me, though the color red is a bit tough to see. Maybe try a light green or orange? I'll likely get something up tomorrow during my 4-5 hour chunk of class time since taking notes is a drag.

I actually struggle understanding that they're separate people, but the same--Yoko and Shuichi that is. Is there any merit to Yoko acting like he isn't Shuichi, when Yoko basically is him now?

I don't know about fantastic, but I'm doing a casual roleplay right now and one in pm, and... let's just say my Advanced is showing xD I gave someone like 13 paragraphs and got 3 back. It was just funny as hell to me xD it's just that you're one of a kind and there's that gap I want to keep closed, so I feel like your equal, rather than just say I am, you know? I'm working on the confidence issue, trust me. I replied like five times to an assortment of people, including you :3 so that's progress!

Yeeeah was afraid it would be too hard on the eyes. I'll change it to a lighter color in the next post for you. And I'm glad you thought it was okay. Kurama is one of the smartest characters in that show and I just don't want you to think I'll have him abuse that. It's hard to dampen intelligence and ability without insulting the character. As long as you trust me, I'll trust me too.

I don't think Yoko and er Shuichi are the same but I do feel they understand each other the best now than at any other point in their life on earth. I think Yoko used Shuichi to heal and get stronger but then just saw the guy's mother is a nice lady with bad luck and wanted to help. And I think in a way, Yoko gives Shuichi a backbone he lacks, where Shuichi gives Yoko some humanity and so I think by now, they could be seen as the same person, but I do think at times they would still fight for dominance. XD

13 and then 3 huh? Dang, not even at least 4-5 to at least give half what you gave? That's kind of funny...in a weird way lol Hopefully the subject and plot make up for the casual level. Well to me, there is no gap between us, that's all in your head, silly! I am glad you're getting better with the confidence/writing though, each day is progress. :3

Oh yeah, def better than ok. I know it's hard to write as clever or super intelligent characters but I also find that challenge to be fun. But thank god we have the internet and can use it to our advantage in instances where we do wanna sound smarter than the average bear haha.

Kurama being both of those qualities at once, but one side can sometimes beat the other maybe? Confusing. And yeah according to the wiki Yoko could have left ten years after Shuichi was born but was fond of his mother so he stuck around.

Yeah but to be fair they said they weren't an advanced writer. They also don't communicate very much so that's a big downside to it all :C trying to make conversation but they just don't wanna talk back very much. Aww <3 thaaaanks, I'm trying >.< super haaaard. Thanks for the support.

If I can write Kurama I could probably write Shikamaru, but that's yet to be seen. We'll see if I can keep up the momentum. Let me know if Kurama's too good, but then again that may just be the character ^^

Kurama is more complicated than Kenshin it seems haha. I do see them as a ying and yang of each other. I do think Hiei preferred to keep the company of Yoko, than of Shuichi himself. So if we do bring in Hiei as a foil in the future, there could be conflict between them and their differences in viewing humans and relationships.

That sucks but some people aren't talkative sadly so sometimes it means you gotta take control.

Shikamaru is just a lazy Kurama. XD But I also think they're both good with tactics, though Kurama is probably fine with being around people where I think Shikamaru may lean towards smaller groups or no company at all. Though now I'm imagining Kurama, Sakura, Shikamaru and Botan cloud gazing together on a wide open green hill after school. ^^;

I'm also gonna be hitting the hay in about 5-10 mins but I could text for a bit while I wait to go to bed. I gotta head into school early and finish some extra credit so getting to bed early would be best.

Lmao I know Hiei wouldn't CARE, but to see Kurama with Botan might be an odd pairing choice to him. Maybe it's because Yoko was against any sort of laws and Botan tries to uphold peace and balance. People change, but still, talk about a bit of irony.

I try to start conversations but it can't be helped. Maybe they'll warm up to me soon ;3

In some crazy AU they're probably kicking it together: Kurama and Shikamaru playing Shogi/Chess and Botan/Sakura just ...I don't know...girl things. xD

Oh, no, I'm way overdue on sleep actually. As of right now, I've been up for 24 total hours with no sleep, and I've got class in about several hours so I should hit the hay myself. Good luck tomorrow <3
