I've just realized that in all the 9 years I've been part of this site, I've never had to change my name, make an alt account or anything like that!

"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and ascend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

Fia Rozenkreuz

Fia Rozenkreuz would be considered to be a beautiful lady thanks for her fiery hair, her beautifully white skin and her beautiful body... Only if it wasn't for the stern expression that she wore like a mask or the half plate armor that she wore. Fia could have been even a model if she wasn't raised by the Rozenkreuz order.

Instead of a lady, Fia was a knights. Strong, disciplined, an outstanding archer and distinguished warrior. Nimble, fearless, with an iron will. Fia was already one of the biggest promises in the Rozenkreuz order even at the young age of 16 years. Fia had the blood of the founders running through her veins. It was expected that she would be a strong summoner, but no one expected that she would turn out to be such a strong one.

But she was still had the blood of the founders in her. And for good or for bad, she was treated differently from others inside the order. Her parents insisted for her to go to the Aether Bridge Academy. They wanted her to know the world outside the order, to do something other than go to battlefields, after all, she was still a 16 years girl, a very trained 16 years old girl, but a young girl nonetheless.

That morning...

Fia stood in front of a mirror, brushing her hair and taking care of her appearance. Not because she cared about it, but because a member of the order should walk with pride, his figure should inspire both admiration and respect. Wearing herself became almost a ritual after doing it so many times.

Covering her chest with bandages, wearing a pair of padded leather gloves, going up to her shoulders and carefully fastening them together with each other. A leather, long combat skirt covering her legs and the last thing, her signature half plate armor. After wearing it, she needed to fasten it carefully to the padded leather gloves and to the rest of her armor.

That would be the first time she would meet with other 'normal' teenagers. The first time she would experience such thing. Even if she was an honored, disciplined knight, she was still very nervous and rather excited about it.

"Calm down. Remember who you are. Remember the blood that run through your veins. Do not forget your duties as a Rozenkreuz knight" she said, taking a deep breath in front of the mirror, calming herself down.

"I know that I should probably wear something less intimidating, similar to what other modern teenagers wear..." she thought to herself, picking up the traditional mask, that every member of the order wore when going outside.

But the tradition spoke louder. She spent her entire life training and living with them, old habits were difficult to get rid of.

Wearing the mask over her head, she walked to the door.

"Erin, lets go." She said to her summon, a beautiful little thing that was sitting over the wardrobe, dangling her legs happily.

"And please, behave yourself when we get there... I dont want to give off a bad impression" Fia said, looking to Erin.

"Alrighty!" Erin said, jumping out of the wardrobe, landing in front of her in a flourished pose.

"But i never said anything about helping you to make new friends..." Erin said, whispering with a mischievous smile

"Did you say something?" Fia asked, turning to her.

"Only that i am looking forward the new friends we will make. But I'll make sure to make you drop your rigid and formal facade!" she said, whispering the last part as she turned her face, giggling and hopping cheerfully to the door.

At the Academy...

"I knew i shouldn't have brought the mask..." Fia whispered, blushing heavily as she walked through the entrance hall. Everyone was looking at the strange, armored figure in the strange mask. She stood out there like a sore thumb.

"Hey! On the other hand, its very fortunate that you have your mask on right now, otherwise everyone would see your face red with embarrassment!" Erin said, with a cute laugh.

"Te conversare!" Fia said, trying her hardest to ignore the impulse to cover her mask with her hands.

Fia was standing in front of a weird machine she had never seen before. She saw the other students touching it, but she has never used something like that before, so she just stood in front of it, awkwardly, not knowing what to do.

"Lemme try it! Lemme try it!" Erin said, jumping behind her.

"Shoo~ Shoo~~ You clearly don't know what you're doing. Let me try it." the cute summon said, playfully pushing her away from the machine.

A few moments passed, and Erin was still looking at the screen, puzzled.

"So... do you how it wo-" Fia tried to say, only to be interrupted by Erin.

"Someone knows how this thing works? Me and Fia, the weird masked lady wearing a half plate armor here, don't have the slightest clue about what we should do!" Erin said in a loud voice, sticking her tongue out of her mouth with a playful grimace.

"E-E-Erin!!" Fia whispered looking to her.

"Come on, no one will help you if you keep wearing that intimidating mask and acting so coldly!" Fia said, taking the mask out of Fia's face with a quick jump.

Lila Moriarty

The smell of burnt flesh was nauseating. All she could feel in the field were the burnt corpses of cultists, and a few more cultists still charging to their death. A real carnage happened there. Luckily, whoever did that was on their side. The guardian stood tall behind the soldiers. The king's power once again saved the city. The guardian was undeniably strong. It was the last stand of the city, an unsurmountable obstacle to any potential intruder. Or so they thought.

Since the situation was apparently under control, Lila calmly walked in the direction of the soldiers to report what happened in the forest she was before. The number of cultists attacking dwindled as the time passed, what was once a brutal onslaught now was reduced to manageable numbers, that battle seemed to be won already, but looks can be deceiving.

A strange cloaked figure walked towards the soldiers, ignoring even Suleykaar, like it was nothing. Walking with an tired pace, like it was an old man, he cackled. Aside from the staff he used to walk, Lila could feel no other weapons on the old man. What was he doing?

The scene that followed was simply terrifying.
Raising his hands to the sky, the cloaked figure started to float, not needing its staff anymore, as it fell to the ground.

“Our lord adorns his armor. For the battle has just begun. WITNESS YOUNG AND OLD A TRUE CHILD OF OUR CREATORS!” he spoke, pointing to the armored guardian with his old and wrinkled fingers.
Lila couldn't understand what was happening. By the screams of the soldiers, something was happening with the guardian. They yelled in terror, screaming to everyone get away from it.
Black tentacles got out of the guardian, slaughtering anyone unlucky enough to be near the guardian. That was when Lila finally realized what was going on. Somehow, the cultists took control of the Guardian. A weapon strong enough to decimate the city of Sunfire by itself.

With a loud roar shook the ground, coming from the guardian, but there was something different with it. As Lila approached it, she felt that it wasn't the same guardian. Its form had changed. It was still the same size, towering over the soldiers, but its form was sleeker.

“Master.. I am unworthy.. WE ARE UNWORTHY!” the cloaked figure said, bowing down in front of the new, corrupted guardian.
“Your road is commendable one. Rise my trusted servant.” an elegant voice came from under the corrupted guardian's armor. Lila didn't know who that was, but it was obviously an enemy. The cloaked figure, which was unarmed a second ago, now wielded a scythe in its hands.

What could Lila do? Beating a guardian was simply an impossible thing to do alone, even for her. Neither Mirror nor the King were there. The only ones who could possibly maybe stand a chance against the guardian, as they knew its secrets.
Although Lila couldn't beat the guardian, she wouldn't simply stand there without doing nothing or flee. She still could do one thing.

As the cloaked figure and the corrupted guardian talked with each other, Lila grasped her scythe with one hand, her scythe resting over her shoulder as she put the other hand into the ground, assuming a crouched position, just like a predator about to pounce.
"Its the first time in a long time I need to use my powers..." she thought to herself, licking her lips.
Her muscles tensed up, her senses became sharper than ever, she could feel every single smell and sound on the battlefield: the soldier's nervous steps, heartbeats and sweat as they ran away from the guardian, the stench of burnt corpses, the weird smell coming from the corrupted guardian and the elegant voice echoing inside the amor, the blood... The amount of information Lila was receiving that moment was overwhelming. Her blind eyes darted from one side to another, responding to every smell and every sound she heard.

Tightening her grasp on the scythe with all her body tensed up, she dashed forward, her body slowly fading away from vision.
Her steps were inaudible as she dashed through the battlefield, dodging from the soldiers who were running away. Her blind eyes wide open, she was completely focused on her target. As she approached the cloaked man, darkness filled the area like a mist. Those inside the bubble felt their vision becoming darker and darker, until they could see nothing but a pitch black darkness, their senses dulling out, as the sounds and screams from the battle became distant, until they were nothing more than whispers.

She needed information. She needed to know what was happening, how they took over the guardian and what could be done. Luckily, there was one way to obtain such information... Lila knew what she needed to do, as she licked her fangs.
Still invisible, she pounced on the cloaked figure, with her mouth open and her fangs wet with toxins. using the point of her scythe, she would throw the old man's head back, exposing his neck. Using her legs to immobilize his arms by jumping on him and her free hand to take a firm grasp on his shoulder, she would sink her fangs on his neck.

By drinking his blood, she would be able to get some information about what was happening.
Although she was told by the Seraphim that drinking blood was a bad thing, she couldn't restrain her predator side for too long, especially while she was under combat, where her instincts became sharper.
"Its been so long since I drank fresh blood!" she thought to herself, her fangs dripping with toxin. Her blind eyes were focused on the man's throat, her face blushing, lusting for blood as a tingling feeling of pure excitement ran down her spine.
That side of her was a side only Mirror knew. That terrible grin, her lust for blood and meat, her black, blind eyes fixed on her prey...
That was the last thing many of her prey saw, the eyes of a predator and her expression of excitement as she drank their blood.
The only moment when she was allowed to let her predator side run wild, the only moment where she was away from the eyes of the Seraphim...
Away from anyone who would call her a sinner or a monster... When she was hunting, everything else didn't matter.

Isis Nasri

"Stop it! She is with me! You don't need to shoot tranquilizer darts!" Isis said, annoyed with the situation.
"It will take at least 5 darts to fully incapacitate her. Bastet is not your average domesticated Duvari. She is a wild Duvari bred by the Nasri for generations to be the perfect hunter companion." she said, plucking out the darts from Bastet's flank and caressing her with a proud expression.
Indeed, the Nasri's Duvari were things to be proud of. Big, majestic, strong and very loyal to their hunter (the one they bonded with).

"What the Hell Nasri! Your pet just rampaged through the outpost... and... wait wasn't she in a cage? Did she break out! What the fuck! Why would we even put her in a cage if she could just do that!"
"You're in deep shit Nasri."

"B-But Jake, she didn't hurt anyone or destroy anything! Well... Just that flimsy cage... but still, she just doesn't like to be away from me! We literally were raised together." she said, protesting.
"You need to understand... We Nasri work so well with our Duvari because we are not just a human and its 'pet'... Our Duvari literally sees us as part of their pack. They will always want to be with us and defend us." she said, hugging Bastet.

"You need to keep that monster under check, if that means you need to keep her nose down on the ship fine, but I won't be crashing because I'm letting her out of her next and much stronger cage. Just get her on the ship."

"Just give her a chance, you will se how well behave she is. When we get on our destination, i'm sure that you will change your mind!" Isis said, with a smile on her face as Bastet rubbed her head against her.

"I agree with Jake, why the hell did you lock it up? Better off letting it on its own. Probably more calm like that."
Matthew said, looking to her and Bastet.

"Actually... The cage you used to transport her was meant to common, domesticated Duvari..." Isis said, smiling awkwardly.
"I knew it wouldn't be able to hold her if she tried to escape, but if something bad happened during the transport, I wouldn't want her to be trapped in a cage, unable to do anything... So in part that is my fault..."
she said as she got inside the ship with Bastet.

After some time...

Inside the ship everything was going ok. Bastet was quietly laying down near Isis, playing with her hand, Matthew was focused on flying the ship... Everything was going as planned, until somehow the ship was shaking just like it was in the middle of a storm. But the weirdest thing was that the sky was completely clear. There wasn't even a single cloud near them. As they continued flying towards the pillar, the winds got worse and worse, until it was practically impossible to continue without risking crashing the ship.
"no idea! there's nothing around us!" Matthew said, after Jake asked what was going on.
"hold on everyone! Entering a dive!" He continued, extremely focused in trying to land the ship safely.

Bastet was really alarmed, but since Isis was hugging her, the big duvari kept laying down near her, putting her head around Isis, protecting her.
"It will be ok Bastet, just stay with me..." Isis said, hugging her and trying to hide how afraid she was.
Isis never liked flying. Be it with helicopters, ships or anything else. She didn't trusted technology that much. If that was a creature, then it would be different, but she simply couldn't feel completely safe while inside one.
Luckily, they were able to land successfully, without any casualties. The second they touched the ground, Isis and Bastet were the first ones to literally jump out of the ship.

"Shitty ride. Looks like there is something surrounding the site in the sky so we'll have to hit up our ground game. But first we rest. The sun will fall in an hour and I want the camp set up before that. Get a move on people! We're burning daylight!" Jake said.

"Well... that was quite the... experience." Isis said, still calming herself down.
"Jake, you saw how Bastet reacted to that? She was literally calmer than I was!" Isis said, giggling.
"I said to you that you would change your mind when we arrived, didn't I?" she asked, praising Bastet.
"After this I believe we all deserve a reward. Yes, you too Bastet!" she said, looking to everyone and then caressing Bastet when she nudged her with her nose.
"I'll go out hunting with Bastet while you set the camp. I'll show you how good a fresh kill directly from the forest tastes!" she said after disappearing in the forest with Bastet.
