Bio

Hiya, AChronum here! Although I'm relatively new to rping, I have plenty of writing experience and love trying new genres and styles. I absolutely love high magic fantasy RPs and am pretty much willing to do anything so long as I can create a charaxter, not play an existing one, and develop lots and lots of backstory! I'm perfectly comfortable with all mature themes as well, although smut for smut's sake is out of the question.

Interested in an RP? Send me a PM and have a magically marvelous day!

“Good choice.” James complimented the music selection as it played over the intercom system. He waited for Sapphire to pop the lock. He made a mental note to suggest swinging by a hardware store at some point. Clearly picking up a lock pick gun or something would be useful if they needed to stay under the radar. Maybe Max could make him one, though he’d make sure Max was far away from the new place. Very far away.

He followed Sapphire in, taking in the rows of medicine and following the labels. While it did seem to be alphabetized, he couldn’t find anything labelled Methadone. He took a moment to double check, just in case, but no such luck. “I don’t think they have it here. Maybe it’s somewhere else or they just don’t carry it? Can we pass on the second one or do they play off each other somehow?” James asked. He didn’t know how long the distraction would keep everyone’s attention so he did want to get moving at the very least. He just didn’t want to leave if only taking one would cause a heart attack or something without the other drug.

Willow watched the party annihilate all but one of the mushrooms. She had to admit, she felt kinda silly spending all that gil on spells to lower enemy resistances when they could while the field with them. River let loose a barrage of lightning, not quite finishing the last one off so she lifted her wand after adjusting so the others wouldn’t be caught in her spell.

“Shadow Raze.” With a flick of her wrist, a thin blade of inky darkness erupted from the tip of her wand and slashed through the mushroom in the final blow. The mushroom shattered into pixels shortly after its friends, the faint sound of sobbing fading along with the colors.

“Alright, lets get everyone’s MP topped of starting with River. I didn’t realize it was low. We missed that burst damage. Chakra magic.” She joked as the tell tale wisps of blue shot from her wand and wrapped themselves around River before fading, restoring 859 MP to the mage. “Cecelia’s up next with a greater Chakra magic and then Holly will be the last once everything is off cool down.”

As one chitter stood, clawing at its own face after a particularly brutal Will Shatter to the face, the other sank its teeth into the Paladin but its hind claws scratched uselessly at the armor protecting Aura’s chest.

The guard followed Eris closely, the air of disbelief still hanging around him. The man had only quirked an eyebrow at Eris’ instance and gestured for him to lead. When they arrived at the scene, however, the man only scoffed at what he saw. Two students pressed against each other as a bunch of others made more than a few comments as they passed by. He wrinkled his nose at the smell of alcohol and paused at the edge of the grass.

“Seriously? This is what you wanted to show me?” The guard grumbled at Eris irritably, rubbing at his temple. “If you just wanted me to pull some guy off your mage, you could have just told me. None of this murder bllshit. You could cause a serious problem saying things like that. I’ll split them up for you but after, the rest of your reveling will be in your dorm, understood?” He frowned but turned his attention to the pair, crossing over and grabbing Salem by the back of his shirt and yanking him back like he barely weighed anything. He clapped his hand on the back of the plant mage’s neck, a clear sign that he wasn’t going anywhere.

“Name and year, both of you.” The guard snapped. “Which one of you is Mr. Samuel’s par…” He trailed off as he sniffed the air. “What is that smell?”

“Riddles, huh? I’ve never thought about languages like that.” Dennis tilted his head thoughtfully, resting his cheek on his hand. “But uh, not really? Maybe when I was younger, it was always kinda cool. Being able to talk to someone without people eavesdropping was always cool and sure, it’d be nice to read some of the original translations of books cause translators always censor things but I’ve never put any effort into learning any of it.”

“And maybe it’s kinda lazy but with magic, I can just kinda pop into someone’s head and read it as they read.” Dennis admitted sheepishly. "Sorry, that's kinda creepy. I don't just jump into random people's heads if they don't want it. That's way too invasive. Or at least now I don't."

James quirked a brow at Casper’s commentary, huffing out a quiet laugh as they stepped off the elevator. Was that really something they said in the Girl Scouts? What a weird little saying, though he was sure Casper just added on the last bit. A robber’s dream. That was his attempt at subtly explaining the situation and offering to bounce with the goods once they got it but James apparently wasn’t very good at that either. He hummed a little as they looked for their destination.

While they did, James let himself consider Sapphire. After he opened his mouth, low key regretting saying anything honestly, he expected another reprimand but nothing came even as they stepped off the elevator. He could understand why she snapped at him. A stressful situation and an unknown variable were hard but she seemed the type not to let something go once she identified it as a problem. He was just relieved that they could focus on the job and he’d keep an eye out for an impending explosion once they escaped.

When they reached the door, James took a moment to look around but something else hit him. “Do we have a way to contact them so we can coordinate? It’s risky now but doubly so if they haven’t started.” James spoke softly.

With Max not in immediate danger of death, James sighed and made his way through the portal. Maybe they should invest in one of those animal leashes they made for kids. Max certainly seemed like he needed one. James snorted at the image, dragging along like the chaos causing infant he could be but he put the image from his head as Sapphire called him away. “You got it, boss.”

Dealing with his Red Guard team now was.... awkward and he kinda felt like apologizing but he wasn’t sure that was really any help at this point. If they really were pushing the final confrontation then more likely than not, considering the Mutant Underground’s luck, everything would turn into a royal shit show and they’re all going to die anyway so what was the point. “Alrighty, you know the drill, uh, I think. Honestly, all the memories are kinda overlapping and I haven’t really had enough time to separate what I know about here and what I know about there. But don’t wiggle and we’ll get you all patched up in a jiffy.” He smiled at her as he gently paced his hand near the wound and let their breathing sync and the normal dizziness wash over him as he knitted her muscles back together.

The mushrooms wiggled slightly as the party stood there. A bright colorful bird, swept through the trees and settled on a nearby branch. Its long tail feathers almost touched the forest floor from the canopy and it watched the little party as it preened itself.

A creature around hip height dashed out from the undergrowth ahead of Aura and the bushes rustled behind her to reveal another. Both of them paused and regarded Aura with a long pause before letting out a series of chirps and turning their attention on her. Curiously enough, the Chitter in front of Aura wasn’t at full health.

“Morrigan strike me through, another damn Alfor.” The man grumbled none too quietly as he finished wrapping a greataxe for a woman who, despite the animal pelt armor and rugged demeanor, didn’t seem quite the right fit for the weapon.

“Thanks for the upkeep, Bidthrone. Plenty of monsters to kill, not enough to time to craft.” Wilfred turned and cocked a brow at Prome. “Scientific advancement? What sort of advancement are you talking about?”

“Don’t ya be taking to his ramblings, lassie. If he’s anything like Alfor, he’ll be talking in circles and ya still won’t know what his anvil will be hot with at sundown.” Bidthron groused. “Thirty Iron and 2 Rubies? 9 gold pieces paid of front. Not doin’ any of this “layaway” or “credit” system you adventure types seem so keen on recently.”

The guard station only had one guard, leaning against the wall as he stared absently out across the campus. Clearly his mind was elsewhere but he snapped to attention when a bat shifted into a student, a hand covering the growing smile as he asked the student if he was okay, but when Eris finally got the words out in a full, complete sentence, the guard… did nothing. He sighed, reached inside to grab a radio, and fiddled with the channel settings for a moment.

“Got a probable 10-58 out of station 9 behind one of the ballrooms. Headin’ out to confirm.” The guard spoke into the radio, offering Eris his other hand to get him back on his feet. Another voice crackled across the radio, a quick “10-18”, and the guard rolled his eyes. “10-4. Now, once you get your legs back under, let’s go see how drunk this person is. Guessing it ain’t one of your friends if you’re making a bit of a fool out of yourself. Lead the way.”

“Really?! Yeah, we can totally chill!” Dennis beamed as he lead the way off the dance floor. He wove through the crowd, making his way upstairs and claiming the first table with no one else at it. He drank his first glass eagerly, downing it in one go with a satisfied sigh, and relaxed in his seat. “I don’t know how people do this all the time. This whole event is a lot to deal with.”

“So, uh…” Dennis fidgeted in his seat, the tips of his ears going red again with a frown but he shook it off quickly enough. “Oh! What language was that word you used from? Estrangeo? Eostranger? I’m butchering this aren’t I?”

“Thank you very much.” James repeated Casper’s sentiment with a smile and a head nod for the nurse before he made his way toward the elevator. He chuckled at Sapphire’s little tirade, completely unphased. James never expected to sit around and do nothing. Like he told Viel when he offered to assist scouting, James knew how to make himself blend in pretty well into the woodwork even if he was around a decent chunk of people. Considering they were stealing, James was pretty comfortable that would come in handy somewhere along the trip. Sapphire was a prickly one but this whole situation was stressful; who wouldn’t be?

“That’s part of the reason I suggested I help check out the new place. I didn’t think I’d be much help here considering I don’t know Danny so I’m just here to be supportive. And if you guys want some alone time with him, just say the word and I’ll chill outside with your meds. You won’t even remember I was there, promise.” James shrugged, hitting the button to call the elevator. He flashed Casper a thumbs up before he stuffed his hands in his pockets while they waited.

“You spent time in New Orleans?” That was a new little tidbit of information. He frowned briefly at it. Sure, they were busy getting their asses knocked around at the mutant underground but clearly he had been focusing too much on the here and now if he didn’t even know something as simple as that. He made a mental note to coax more about his past; although, he would have never guessed New Orleans considering the city’s reputation for hauntings. “After this is all over, you should let me take you out on a date. I clearly need to hear about all the Big Easy shenanigans you got into.” James teased with a nudge of his shoulder before he was turning his attention to the portal that opened in front of them.

His hand instinctively flew to his gun, only to remember he wasn’t carrying his shoulder holster and Klara wasn’t an enemy anymore, so he attempted to salvage the motion by continuing it into an awkward wave at his previous enemy. Everything was shaping up for the final conflict and everyone seemed to be settling, even if it was rather resentfully, into the fact they all had to work together to get this finished.

If only.

Just as James was sliding his hand into Casper’s, Max suddenly went on the offensive. Against the fucking Prince no less. It took everything in James not to audibly groan because as much as he appreciated the dude, he really had a knack for fucking things over. So instead of holding his boyfriend’s hand as they walked to the inevitable conflict, he gave Max a thousand-yard stare, glanced down at Casper’s hand regretfully, and then jogged over to the pair before the Prince killed Max. He paused next to them, an apologetic smile as he held his hands up in a peaceful gesture.

“Max is just a little on edge. We’re all on the same team here, no need to start anything. We need everyone in one piece for the fight.” James spoke in what he hoped was a placating manner. “He came with Klara, Max. You can trust him. ” Even though she is naive as fuck. He didn’t say that out loud though. And the second the attention was shifted off Max, James was going to smack him over the head for being so damn stupid.

Willow nodded her assent to Cecilia’s suggestion and they took a hard right once they found a clear trail. The group must have cleared out the wandering Chitters, or perhaps they realized this was not a group to be trifled with, because they encountered very little threats along the way. Most trees were simple brown trees but every now and then, the group would cross a particularly dark one with large blue and black mushrooms growing along it. These mushrooms seemed to glow faintly on the bottom side of their caps and closer inspection would reveal these as the Baby Blues. Most trees playing host to these were only covered in one or two but some hosted up to six or seven, though the vast majority preferred to grow higher up. A small glint of yellow would ping across the player’s vision when they crossed one of these trees, drawing attention to a section of their large, warped roots that seemed to claw their way out of the ground.

Those roots with little yellow flashes were each surrounded by 3 Baby Blues.

A series of soft pings caught Willow’s attention and she glanced at her dashboard, opening up the new messages when they appeared. She snorted at the messages and sent her own reply to the last one.

“Aura,

Perfect timing. Looks like we’re about to clear up one more quest for Ceci and then we’re moving onto the Welkins. I’ll send you an invite and then you can just follow the map to meet up with us if you don’t want to sit around. Be careful though. The Chitters like to bite from behind!

Willow

She sent the group invitation from her friend list and turned her attention back to the task at hand. “So… mushrooms with health bars. Fantastic. It’s going to be poison all around tonight folks. Got anything before we get started here, River?” Willow asked as she swapped out her staff for her wand. If poison DoTs were involved, she was going to need the MP mitigation.

The Market was bustling with people and calls for wares from everything from food to textiles were overlapping the general babble. A few stalls sold iron products, though they would reveal they didn’t particularly carry the materials to craft it themselves and ultimately would send Prome along to Bidthrone’s Smithery.
