Name: Claira Blair Foster

Age: She was 20 when she died and is now stuck at that age forever.

Band: The Black Cats

Position: Singer

Bio: Claira's life was a good life at first. She only had her mother, as her father had left them when she was very young, but that didn't matter. Her mother was all she needed. This was why when her mother died in a car wreck when Claira was just 12 something inside of her died with her mother. The young girl became more withdrawn and with no one in her family being able or willing to care for her, she was put into foster care, which really didn't help with her grieving at all.

She was moved from foster home to foster home for a while. She didn't have much to her name during this time. Besides clothes the only thing she did have that was her was a musical keyboard that had belonged to her mother(her mother had been a music teacher at a high school when she was alive) and a music box her mother had gotten for her as a child. The music box was sued every night to put her sleep when her mother was alive and after her mother died she continued to play it before going to bed. They were her most important treasures.

It was at her thirteenth home since her mother's death, when she was 15, that Claira met the people that would change her life forever. Claira had been the quiet person in the back of the classroom, not really speaking to anyone and going mostly unnoticed. Especially in music class. She was one of the few who, known to everyone, always aced the tests and seem to know what she was doing as far as music went. Yet, because of this, it seemed to make her even shier than normal in music class and her teacher, wondering why she was being so withdrawn when her tests showed she knew a lot abut music, asked her to stay after class one day. When asked why he never spoke up n class, Claira just simply said she had stage fright, not wanting to go into her background with a teacher she barely knew. So, after that the teacher accommodated her, having it so when it came time to for the class to actually learn how to sing and play music, Claira was allowed to come after school and do her singing and instrumental tests after school. And one day, while singing her part for a test, three of the other students in her class happened to hear her and after that, they began approaching her more, trying to hang out with her. At first Claira was shy, refusing to interact with them, but slowly, she grew used to the presence and began to enjoy their company and consider them friends.

When asked to join the band their were putting together, Claira was unsure. The only ones that had ever heard her sing was them and her music teacher. She wasn't really one to sing in front of a crowd. But, she accepted, thinking it might be a good experience for her. They played and practiced at each other's homes(except for hers because she didn't want her foster parents saying anything about it), and they got better and better. Through out her next year of being in this band she kept it from her foster parents, afraid they would send her away again. She also didn't tell her band she was in foster care and kept talking about her home life to a minimum with them. Often she would spend time at their homes, whether it be to spend the night or just hang out, and with their families, enjoying the environment of an actual family. It was rare if she was at home.

A year after they had first gotten the band together, a huge contest was being held just a couple of towns over to find the 'next big thing'. They all got pretty excited and decided it would be a good opportunity for them. So, they loaded their things up and drove together, entering the contest. Not only that, they won. People were all over them, wanting to become their manager and make them big. After listening to a lot of them, and some of the teens asking opinions from their parents, they agreed on one named Mike Lulligold. It wasn't long after the televised contest though, that people dug into the backgrounds of these kids and found out her secret. That she was in foster care and currently up for adoption. People swarmed her foster home and foster care services to try and adopt her. And of course her foster parents, as they were in charge of what money he got from performing, were unwilling to see her adopted off.

It was very overwhelming for Claira and seeing how badly this was affecting her (either one of the band member's parents or their new manager. if you want it to be your characters parents, then pm me and let e know) stepped up and said enough was enough. They made plans to adopt her, but that was shot down by her foster parent, greedy to keep them with her for the money she brought in. Knowing this, the normally shy and with drawn Claira for once in her life, stepped up to speak for herself and went through a huge process to get away from her foster parents. After much struggle with the adoption agency, she was able to get it approved so that (the teen's parents or manager) was in fact able to adopt her and she became truly a part of the family.

After that, Claira was by far not shy or withdrawn any more. She was more relaxed, less anxious, and really happy. She was outgoing and not afraid to speak up. It was a good thing for her. A month after the adoption was finalized, the Black Cats began their tour going around and preforming for huge crowds of people. Everywhere they went they were swarmed by fans and they were often found on tv, performing as well and being interviewed. It was when she was twenty and the band had been together for five years, that the accident happened and they died.

Appearance:

Other: After they died and the hotel shut down, each of the teens took over a room in the hotel to all their rooms. They were able to find their bags that they had originally brought to the hotel and got their things out, taking them to their rooms. In her own room, there is nothing there besides her keyboard in the corner and her mother's music box on the vanity. Though she often plays with these items, they remain dusty and full of cobwebs from years of not being touched by a living soul. At night, the music box can be heard playing through out the hotel.
*Inspired by Disney's Tower of Terror*
The Black Cats. This was once a band who had become very popular in the 90's. It was a band of young teens that had started traveling around and playing music in different places. Everyone wanted to see them. They were the new thing and all focus was on them, making quite a few other artists, their family members, and sometimes just the haters of their music angry and jealous. On September the first, 1994, they were assigned to play at a very large and surprising high class hotel, which normally didn't happen for them (as they were rock band). But, they were never ones to turn down a show and accepted, coming to the hotel in high spirits. They set up their things, played a couple of songs and people were enjoying themselves. It was turning out to be a very good night for them.

Until the chandelier fell.

The chandelier fell from the ceiling, killing the four of them(whether it be instantly or they died of their injuries before the paramedics could get there is up to each person playing the characters). Through out the next year many strange things happened at that hotel. Music started playing from no where, lights would flicker. And more shockingly, anytime they tried to hang a new chandelier it would either fall within the next day, or be broken into pieces where it hung. Finally falling into the belief that the hotel was haunted by the band that died there, the hotel shut down not even two years after the incident.

Now, twenty years later a group of unknown artists, called the Kid's Next Door(can be changed on request of the members of the band haha), who are are greatly inspired by the band that died want to go see the last place that their favorite band played. So, they go to the rundown and scary hotel, only to find that maybe their favorite band might still be there, looking for something that might entertain them in their never ending life after death, and maybe even a way out of their dim and ghostly prison.

Rules
-This is Advanced. What I consider to be advanced is at LEAST two good sized paragraphs(preferably more, but we all have writers block) with good grammar, punctuation, spelling, and capitalization. No one is prefect, but at least try(in fact, it would be preferred if as you post your character to pm me with a example post(something from a previous rp or something you wrote up for this plot)).
-Reserving: my rules on this are you must send me your example post along with what character you wish to reserve before we reserve it for you. The reserve will last for 12 hours and then after that we will open the spot up again. Its only fair we do that that way we are not kept waiting and you can get the role you really want.
-Try to post at least once a day. I know its hard(believe me, im in college, i know). If you can't, give us a reason and we can work something out.
-If you read these rules, make add a 'character banner' to the top of your profile. An example of one will be the one above my character's profile. If you don't know how to make one than you can pm me and tell me your character's name and role and I will make one for you ;)
-I am on the look out for the character that killed the band(planned the chandelier to drop on them). I the person playing one of the eight available characters to also play this role. It doesn't have to be one of the band members obviously, but I want it to be a surprise so it would be better that way instead of having a separate person come in just for that role. It can be a sibling, disgruntled fan, manager, or one of the band members. It would be up tot he person taking the role. If you are interested, pm me.
-Be nice to each other and have fun :)

Ava awoke to the light coming in through her bedroom window and when she blinked her eyes open, she was a little disoriented and confused as this bedroom wasn't the one she normally woke up in. It took her a moment for her brain to even half way start working and she remembered why she wasn't in that same village and that was because this was her village. She yawned, stretching a bit as she got up from her bed and went to tiredly walk to her door, only to trip over something in the middle of the floor.

She yelped, stumbling and sat up again, giving the dragon in the middle of her bedroom floor a slightly annoyed look, “Really? In the middle of the floor Blizzard?” Getting to her feet, she brushed herself off, “Well, I guess I'm awake now.” Walked over to him, she scratched behind his ears again, “Let's go grab some breakfast.” She said nd walked down the stairs, smiling at her parents as she did, “Morning.”
Ava nodded, watching as he got on the back of his Nadder, "See you around Calder." When he was gone, she turned to Blizzard and smiled, scratching behind his ear, "You ready to head back and get some rest? You deserve it after that long flight." With that she hopped onto his back and smiled, settling herself down and leaned forward as he took off, heading back toward the village. By now, everyone was either drunk and passed out around the fire or had been able to walk themselves home and were in fact asleep. Once they had landed in front of her house, she walked inside and smiled, taking in the warmth after such a chilly ride. Seeing her parents by the fire she approached them, giving both Toothless and Aurora a gentle pet before she gave her parents each a hug and kiss on the cheek, saying good night to them before heading up the stairs.

It was true, walking into her old room for first time in so long was strange. When she had been a child her bed had been much too big for her even then and now it was still a little too big for her. But she wasn't complaining, especially since she was ready to go to sleep. Taking her boots off and such, she yawned, petting Blizzard, nuzzling her head against his, "Night, Blizzard. Get some rest." She said and climbed into her bed, falling asleep relatively quickly.
Kk. :)
Ava grinned as Calder at first didn't wish to apologize and knew that was not going to get him anywhere as far a her dragon was concerned. He Dropped the boy a few inches before he finally began to hurried apologize, obviously not wanted to be exposed to the freezing temperatures of the ocean waters. She watched as her dragon flung the helpless young man to the shore and once he had landed down on the shore beside him and Bluebell, Ava slid off, smiling, "I say that at least should count as a draw. After all, you may have had the sheep, but we had you." She teased, scratching at Blizzard's scales fondly, looking at him, "Isn't that right, bud? Or should we give him a second ride?" This was obviously a joke though. She patted Blizzard's side when he reared and snarled at him, "Okay, okay, I think he gets it." She said with a laugh, calming him down the best she could.

Walking over, she swiftly went under Calder's arm and made a move to grab for the sheep, laughing lightly when she finally was able to get it from him, "I had to admit, that was fun." She patted Bluebell's side, smiling at the bird like dragon, "I can't wait to get into the real races. It seems so exciting." Though, she knew she and Blizzard needed more practice flying before they could be considered really good at the races. Both were still somewhat in experienced, her in riding a dragon, and him in having a rider. It would take a little while before they finally got onto the same level and flew together in sync, "When is the next race?"
Ava was sure they had to be in the lead and nothing would really stop them from making it to the Little Isles first without anything going wrong. But then Blizzard looked back for a split second to see, what she thought, was how far Calder and his Nadder were behind them, and when he did that, they almost ran smack into a one of the stone towers that jutted out of the ocean water below. She gasped and held on tightly to both the sheep and her dragon, only loosening her grip slightly when she thought it was safe to. But by that time Calder had landed on the back of her dragon and greeted her before snatching the sheep from her and going to jump onto his dragon.

That didn't seem to fly so well with Blizzard though. He in fact seemed pretty miffed about the boy being on his back. So, when the boy went to go jump off of Blizzard's back and onto the back of his own dragon, Blizzard suddenly veered down, and at first she thought he was going to try and snatch the sheep away. It didn't turn out that way though because instead of grabbing just the sheep, he caught Calder himself in his claws and despite how she was sure this technically counted as cheating, Ava couldn't help but laugh at the sight, bending down to look at Calder, "But we have the sheep now!" She continued to laugh, thinking about this was probably the most fun she had had in a while and she sure couldn't wait until the official dragon races.

Very soon, they had made it to the Little Isles and Blizzard hovered with Calder just a few feet above the water of the shore. Grinning, she looked down at him again, obviously very amused by the sight, "You know if you apologize to Blizzard, he might let you go. But then again, you'll be soaked if he does. Kind of a loose-loose situation here, huh?"
Ava had a huge grin on her face as Blizzard took off, enjoying the thrill and excitement of the flight. It was an amazing feeling to be able to fly up so high and see things from a bird's eye view. And how fast Blizzard flew make it feel like she was actually riding the strong winds of Berk themselves. She laughed with glee, holding on tightly as he dove down, scaring a flock of sheep, only noticing a few moments after they had pulled up that he had caught one of the poor creatures in his claws, "Blizzard. You're not going to eat it are you? If you're that hungry I'll catch you some fish from the bay and--" She was cut off with a gasp as a Nadder squawked below them, surprising both she and her dragon.

Blizzard had dropped the poor traumatized sheep, but Calder's dragon was quick to fly down so he could catch it, holding it under his arm. She straightened in confusion and curiosity, wondering why he was here. She looked down at the annoyed Blizzard for a moment before looking back to the young man in front of her, tilting her head to the side and speaking, "What are you doing here? Last I saw you and your Nadder were drinking by the bon fire." Which was true. Had he followed them when he saw them fly off? Maybe, which was disappointing somewhat as she thought they had gotten away without anyone spotting them.

But, when she heard him say something about dragon racing, she perked up a little. She remembered them well now. Her father used to race in them when she was still a young child. Her mother would hold her in her lap and point out each other the dragons and their riders, while her grandmother woudl explain the rules of the game to her. It had been quite a thing to see, and she was sure it was really something to participate in. Thinking about that, she smiled brightly, "Dragon racing? Sure. Let' dragon race." And with that, she had Blizzard fly a few quick circles around the Nadder, seeming to frighten the dragon slightly and distract Calder enough to where she could grab the sheep from him, laughing, "Try to keep up! First one to get the sheep to the Little Isles wins!" And with that, she and Blizzard were off.
Blizzard seemed unhappy with all she had said about his interactions with the other humans of the village, but she had expected that. Blizzard was in all not the most social person, and with him being of an almost complete dragon mindset, he probably didn't pick up on many of the cues the other humans gave off when he spoke to them. He could disagree all he wanted but that was what she saw when she watched him. But, if he disagreed with what she had said, he didn't voice his opinion. He merely began to suddenly undress at the mention of flying, causing her to quickly turn and her cheeks to turn a bright cherry red before he was even able to get his tunic all the way off, "Alright alright, I'll hold on tight. Just warn me next time you decide to undress." She was sure he was done undressing and changing into his dragon form when she heard the noise of the table tipping over.

Quickly turning now, she moved to push the table upright again and put the items that were on it back into their proper places, She couldn't help but laugh though as he pridefully walked to the exit, barking at her impatiently to follow, "I'm coming." She set the last few things on the table before rushing after him, laughing as she stepped into the snow. Once they were in a space they could fly off, she waited for him to kneel before climbing up and settling herself. She leaned forward, preparing herself for his take off, grinning, "Let's do this."
Ava smiled at her father when he said he would have done the same thing and that she was probably every bit as stubborn as he was when he was her age. That made her feel a little better about all this, and while she till felt bad for worrying him, she guessed that's just what parents did. They worried about their kids whether they were in real danger or not. She just wasn't used to it quite yet. While she did have her memories back, especially the memories about how much her parents had cared and protected her, she had still spent the majority of her life living in a village where the people she thought were her parents had cared little to nothing about her safety. So, having parents now who would not only worry about her in such a way, but also put themselves in that same danger to save her. It would take a while more before that feeling of surprise they would actually do that for her settled.

She hugged her father back tightly, laughing along with him, "I missed you to dad." The fact that he stated she could never disappoint him, well, it meant the world to her. After most of her spent constantly disappointing those around her, that unconditional acceptance was something would definitely cherish.

She watched as her father stood and nodded with a smile, looking up at the sky as well. The stars were shining brightly, the moon full, "Yeah, it is a good night for a flight. Maybe me and Blizzard will go out flying before bed." She watched him walk off and when he joined in with the crowd of people she stood up herself, walking over to where Blizzard was speaking with the others and he didn't look too happy. She managed to hear the remark about eating whatever looked appealing and knew that thing certainly were going downhill as far as him socializing went. She laughed nervously as she approached, "I think that's enough chatting Brandt. I think this cool air might be getting to you." Without, she took him by the arm and looked to the others, "Where he was from it was very warm, so the chill makes him grumpy. I'm going to take him inside for now."

And with that, she dragged the dragon boy off, holding back her laugh as she whispered to him, "You're not too threatening in this form, Blizzard. That, and I think those too might just be too dense to know what a threat is." Leading him back to their house, she walked inside, "Let's go for a flight, huh? It's pretty clear weather tonight. Might be fun."
