Cassie smiled under Serix's lips when he pulled her down into a kiss, her hands going to cheeks as she kissed him back. It was still so surreal that they were so close, in a relationship. After all, weren't they just enemies a few days ago? And yet, now she flt so strongly for him and he felt the same about her. She loved him and would do anything to keep him safe. The two of them were a team now and she sure hoped that it would stay that way. If she lost him she wasn't sure how she could live with herself. As strange as it sounded after only knowing each other for a short time, it was the truth. Pulling back from the kiss, she yawned and stretched as well, smiling over at him, holding his hand tightly in hers as he asked what the two of them should do today. She thought for a moment, "Hmmmm, well we have very limited options. There isn't really much we could do. We could dance again now that we have that CD player. We could work on robots. Or we could...I don't know....just talk?" She looked back to him, "Actually...talking might not be such a bad idea. I mean, we've told each other mostly about the differences between humans and Lunairans, but we've never really talked about just....us." She moved to sit cross legged on the bed, still holding his hand as she smiled brightly at him, "You could start. You could tell me about your life on the ship with the other Lunairans. Like what friends you had? What you all did there? What girls you liked? What classes you took? Oh and about you family? I know that all my sound weird but I just.....I want to know everything Serix. Will you tell me?"
Cassie could have slept there all day if she wanted to. The feeling of being so close to Serix was something that was just relaxing and left her feeling at peace. The only thing that could have woke her up, and did wake her up, was the sound of his voice in her ear, telling her good morning. A sleepy smile came to her face and she yawned, opening her eyes. Rolling over so that she was facing him now, she cuddled up closer to him, kissing him before she nuzzled her head against his neck, "Why does it have to be morning? Can't we just lay here for the next hundred years? Or thousand?" She joked slightly before she looked back at him. "Well, at least I'm not waking up surprised and you didn't end up falling down this time." She grinned and nuzzled her forehead against his this time, "I prefer this much better. It's much more...calm. And to be honest, being so close to you makes me feel safe." Smiling she sighed happily, letting her head hit the pillow this time. Staring up at the ceiling she spoke again, "Well...time for another long day stuck in this place. If it weren't for the robots being here and needing fixing we would probably be bored out of our minds." She moved to sit up now, leaning over him and smiling down at him, her long blonde curls cascading around them, "But then again, this would probably be a lot worse if you weren't here. I'd be going crazy right now being stuck in this place all by myself."
Cassie felt her cheeks redden a little more when Serix moved forward to sit closely in front of her and when he he whispered in her ear that he loved her too, it was like all of her tension washed away in that moment. To know that he loved her back was an amazing feeling that left her high on the joy of this all. When he kissed her, she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him back momentarily before she gasped, tensing up in surprise when the mental connection between them had opened up without warning. All of his emotions were given to her and she could feel everything he felt about the two of them being together. It left her feeling warm with butterflies in her stomach. When she got used to the flow of this, she began kissing him back for another few seconds before he pulled back, tapping the tip of her nose with his finger. She laughed slightly, looking to him, "Well, I would have shown you how I feel myself, but my abilities aren't exactly up to that level yet, remember?" She held his hand tightly in hers when his fingers curled around hers and she allowed him to lead her back to the bedroom. After that mental connection, which was still very new to her and left her a little tired, she was pretty much ready to sleep. Leaning up on her tip toes, she kissed him once more, smiling brightly, "Night Serix." Then with that, she walked over to her bed, laying down and curling up in her blanket. Yet, a while passed, and though she was tired, she just couldn't seem to fall asleep. She tossed and turned, trying to get comfortable, and nothing could really make her drift off. It was after an hours or so of trying to fall asleep, that Cassie's mind began to drift to the night before, and how easy it had been for her to fall asleep laying next to Serix. That got her wondering. Sitting up, she looked over to his bed, then being as quiet as she could, her blanket still wrapped around her, she moved over to his bed. Trying not to wake him up, Cassie moved in attempt to crawl over him and succeeded in squeezing herself between him and the wall as she had been the night before, curling up there and indeed as she thought found herself more relaxed there. Smiling to herself she sighed in contentment, getting comfortable as she layed there.
Cassie smiled slightly at his explanation of how he had started to have feelings for her, and she smirked at him, "Oh, so it was only when you found out I was half Lunairan? So if I was just full human I would mean close to nothing to you right now?" She of course was joking when she said this, the grin on her face showing that. She knew that wasn't the case and was just teasing him on his wording. She took another sip of her soup and thought for a moment when he returned her question, asking her when things had changed with her views toward him. She sighed and sat back, thinking another few seconds before she finally did speak. "It's....hard to say exactly when it happened. It just kind of....crept up on me I guess? Like at first I was scared of you. Scared that you might try to kill me. Then of course, when you tried to it kind of...made me untrusting of you...I thought when you left you might have went and brought back your people to capture me so of course I let the airplane and came here thinking that what you said was true, that I would never see you again. But, then you ended up here in just curiosity of wanting to see the robots. I guess it was that wanting to learn about something humans had made that started the shift. Like, if you could be interested in something my kind had made then maybe you wouldn't be so quick to get rid of the last of the human race." She brushed her hair back, "After you started staying here with me, I guess it was just kind of noticing little things here and there. How, despite being slightly narcissistic, you are actually very kind and want to help where its needed. And how you're quick to comfort when something is wrong. And you've even become more open to trying new things, like telling stories out loud and trying to learn how to build and fix the robots. You even seem happier. That and that grin of yours could melt an iceberg if you wanted it to." She joked slightly. Looking down she continued, "So, yeah. I guess it was just a slow coming. Slowly moving from thinking you hated me and would kill me, to maybe you weren't so bad, to kind of liking you, to...well....loving you." She felt her cheeks heat up immensely at that confession and she brushed a strand of hair before her ear as she looked up sheepishly at him.
Mira listened to the prince as he spoke to her, telling her what she could do if she were to ever run across any woodland thieves and such. It was very kind of him to look out for her like this. Did he do this with all of his people? If so, maybe this prince would be a much better ruler than his father. Maybe through this prince things could change for the Spellcasters. She smiled at him when he spoke to her and she nodded, giving another curtsy, holding Grounii close to her, "Thank you, Destrian. I will be sure to do that." She smiled at him once more and then turned, heading back into the deeper parts of the woods, toward her home. As she walked along, she looked down at Grounii and smiled, giving a shrug, "Well, that was.....interesting, don't you think?" The cat merely meowed and she nodded, "Certainly not the way I expected a human, especially the prince and son of a horrible king, to act, even toward someone as obviously low class as me, with or without knowing about what I really am." She looked over her shoulder as they went along, looking back in the direction they had come from, "It was nice, though." he smiled more and th two slipped through the trees, Mira letting them in through the protection barrier. Immediately the small cat that was Grounii shifted, changing back into the large dragon he liked being so much and rubbed his head against Mira, making her laugh, "Okay, you big lumux, let's get back inside before mother--" **"Before mother does what?"** Wide eyed, Mira looked to see her mother, standing in the yard by one fo the large trees, a furious look on her face as Mira scrambled to think of something to say, "I-I..." Before she could even word anything her mother was upon her, grabbing her arm and dragging her into the cottage, flinging her inside so hard that she hit the floor rather roughly. **"Why did you to obey Mirabella?! What make you think you could just run off into the woods like that?! HUH?!"** "But mother, I--" Her mother turned to her, the fury very obvious in her gaze, "Didn't I tell you not to go out there?!" Mira was silent a moment as she gazed down at the floor before she dared to look up at her mother, "It was so lonely here mother..." "I was not company enough?" Her gaze was cold as she looked down at her daughter and that made Mira feel even worse. Mira looked up now from where she sat on the floor, speaking to her mother, her own gaze begging for her to understand, "I'm not a child anymore mother! I wish to see the world!" **"What world Mira?! The world in these!"** It was then that Mira realized, much to her despair, that her mother had found her old story books left behind by her father. She had kept them hidden in her room, but now her mother had them all out on the table and had picked one up, gripping it angrily in her grasp, **"Get your head out of the clouds child! The world in these books doesn't exist! Yes, princes may be out there in the world, but so are humans! They will never understand us! And if they find out what we are, who _you_ are, they will not hesitate to kill you. Not even any prince you meet out there will want to keep you alive after knowing what you are. He'd rather see you burned at the stake like your father!"** By now, Mira was sobbing and her mother moved to kneel down in front of her, taking her hands, **"Stay with me Mira. Here in the cottage. Never go into those woods again. Do I make myself clear?"** Mira looked up at her mother and swallowed hard before nodding, "Yes Mother." **"Good."** Smiling, her mother kissed her forehead and stood up, pulling Mira to her feet, **"Now, let's fix some supper and forget this whole thing."** ... Yet, Mira couldn't forget it. All night, and even the next morning as she sat out in their yard staring out into the woods, she found herself thinking about those woods and the human Prince she had met there. She had gone out there and met a human, and he hadn't harmed her. In fact, he had been very kind to her. What if her mother was wrong? What if maybe her mother just hadn't met a human in so long that she didn't know humans had changed. Had humans changed? Mira wasn't sure. But how could she know whether they had or not if she didn't see so for herself? Needless to say, after her mother left, Grounii didn't look too happy to see Mira putting on that cloak again and preparing to leave. He even nudged her, trying to make her go back into the house to take it off, but she shook her head, "Grounii. Stop it." Taking the dragon's head in her hands she spoke, "I have to do this Grounii. Please. I just have to go back into those woods." The dragon at this huffed, and backing up, changed into a cat once more, determined to follow Mira out again. She smiled at him and made her way past the barrier and into the woods once more, a huge smile on her face. As she walked along, she found herself passing the time, humming, and even when they got a little further, found herself singing, lost in her own little world. ... [The Call](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgUL3ut4gyQ) "It started out as a feeling Which then grew into a hope Which then turned into a quiet thought Which then turned into a quiet word And then that word grew louder and louder 'Til it was a battle cry I'll come back when you call me No need to say goodbye ~ Just because everything's changing Doesn't mean it's never been this way before All you can do is try to know who your friends are As you head off to the war Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light You'll come back when it's over No need to say goodbye You'll come back when it's over No need to say goodbye ~ Now we're back to the beginning It's just a feeling and no one knows yet But just because they can't feel it too Doesn't mean that you have to forget Let your memories grow stronger and stronger 'Til they're before your eyes You'll come back when they call you No need to say goodbye You'll come back when they call you No need to say goodbye"
Cassie smiled at him when they finally did pull apart, her heart pounding against his and when he kissed her forward, she just felt like everything was right in the world. They were both where they were meant to be and with who they were meant to be with. She couldn't believe that all of this happiness could have come from her being kidnapped and almost killed and him disobeying his orders in order to help her. They were no longer fellow survivors just trying to make it out in this crazy and unforgiving world, they were a complete team now. She brushed softly when he brushed a strand of hair from her face and smiled up at him with a small smile, "Really? Because I've been waiting for that for a long while as well." As happy as she had been in a while, she reached up to nuzzle her forehead against his, giggling softly, "Guess this makes you one of those 'human sympathizers' huh?" Looking up at him again, she brushed his dark bangs from his eyes, "Serix? Promise me something, okay? Promise me that we will both get out of this together." After she said that, she felt her stomach growl and laughed, "Well, I guess we forgot to get something to eat after we were stuck in that room. How about we go grab something before bed? Holding his hand gently in hers, she tugged him out of the room and into the food storage room to go through some of the cans. She found herself a can of soup and let him pick whatever it was he wanted before the two sat down. She sipped silently on the soup for a moment before she looked back at him, "Serix. When did your feelings for me start to change? I mean...at first you seemed to think of me as some inferior human. And...now we are where we're at. When did it start to shift like that?"
Cassie tried to protest more after her took her wrists and pulled her to her feet, saying it wasn't hard and to follow his lead. And, she had to admit, that once they had started dancing, she was kind of enjoying it. It was very patient with her, even with the couple of times she had managed to step on her foot or get off beat. Once she got off the nervousness she was actually pretty good at dancing. Graceful and falling into step quicker than she had thought. Maybe she had more of her mother in her than she thought? Well whatever it was, she found herself smiling as they two stepped together and even laughed when he said he was going to spin her. She nodded and passed under his arm, giggling the whole time, "Not so bad indeed. Probably because I do have such an amazing dance partner." Sooner than she thought the music had slowed and she fell into pace with him once more, her cheeks reddening slightly and her heart racing as things seemed to get more intimate than she thought, and rather quickly. She looked up at him, her heart pounding harder as her eyes met his, blue eyes looking into his bright violet ones as they moved, twirling along with him, only something changed when he spun her one last time. Instead of placing his hand back on her waist, hi arm went around her waist, pulling her so tightly to him that she could feel his heart beating against her own. Next thing she knew, his lips were pressed against hers, causing her to gasp in surprise under his lips, her face heating up. She wasn't sure what to do at first, but what she did know was that pressed so close to him and his lips moving against her own, it just felt _right_. Like this was how it was meant to be. She was about to close her eyes and kiss him back, only he left the kiss too quickly. He seemed just as flustered as she was, his own pale cheeks as red as hers was and to her, it made her feel better, almost more comfortable about all of this. He was just as nervous about all of this as she was, and it was okay. Seeing this, she found herself smiling and shaking her head as she laughed softly at his apologies, "Don't be." Then, it was her turn to kiss him. She pressed her hands to his cheeks, standing on her tiptoes to press her lips against his, smiling under his lips.
As the music played, Cassie sat in one of the near by chairs, listening to the music, lost in her own thoughts. She had, after a little while, closed her eyes, picturing back to her parents when she had been young. How they would sit in the living room, and her mother would essentially pull her father to his feet and laughing the two would dance around. Sometimes her father would even pull Cassie herself up and set her on his feet, having a father daughter dance with her. Those memories were some of her most cherished. She wondered if she would get to show those memories to Serix if their mental connection ever got stronger when they linked telepathically. **“Dance with me,”** Cassie opened up her eyes, looking up at Serix a little wide eyed when she heard those words leave his map. Her cheeks redden to a rosy color and there was no hiding it this time. She was still trying to wrap her head around him asking her that and even he himself was bashful, not meeting her gaze as he spoke again, ** “The style is a little different than what I’m used to, but I can cope. So… will you dance with me?”** What was she supposed to say to that? It left her heart pounding and her hands trembling, but this time it wasn't from her thoughts of being in that room. It was from the thought of being so close to him and dancing with him. "I-I..." Now it was her turn to stammer and be flustered. Her nervousness was very prominent. She didn't really know how to dance. Other than those few ties of her dancing with her father as a little girl, she had never danced with anymore before, nor had she learned how to do so. Wouldn't it be better to say no and not embarrass herself in her stumbling about than to say yes and trip over herself as well as step all over her feet? Maybe. So, when he said that, her cheeks still red she shook her head, holding up her hands, "N-no. I don't really know how to dance. I'd just step all over you and make a fool of myself." Yet, next thing she knew, she was being pulled to her feet from her seat, her eyes wide and her face growing redder, "Serix! What are you doing?"
Cassie smiled at him when he mentioned that it was her who had done it and that he had felt pretty useless in their situation, “You weren’t useless Serix. If anything, it’s thanks to you we got out. If you hadn’t been able to calm me down we would have been stuck in that room forever.” Walking over to the boxes he was going through, she began picking through some of the junk as well to see if there was anything she could use, and as she stood there, she could still feel her body trembling and her heart racing from being stuck in that room. Maybe she could sleep it off? “I think I might go lay down for a little while. Then after that I can work on some of the other robots again.” She looked to him when she heard him ask what something was and rose an eyebrow to see what he was holding up. Walking over she took it from him, “It’s a CD player.” Opening it up, she saw there was an old CD in it and continued “It plays music off of these disks. It doesn’t really surprise me they had one of these in here. My mother loved music and would pull him into listening to it with her or dancing with her. That kind of thing.” She motioned for him to follow him and walked with him to the hanger, plugging it in on one of the many outlets and sat next to it, pressing play. She listened to the music, trying to let it calm her nerves, speaking, “See? Every human had one of these. They were pretty common.”
Cassie opened up one of the boxes, beginning to pull things out. She tried to not linger on each item, but it was somewhat hard not to, making it take a little longer than she would have liked searching for these tools. As she went through the things, she had to keep reminding herself to stay calm and keep her breathing steady. It wasn’t hard for her to do this surprising, especially knowing Serix was in the room with her. That made her think back to what she had just done. Why had she kissed him on the cheek like that? She remembered her mother doing that often to her father and her father would return it with a kiss on the forehead. So, why had she just done such a thing to Serix? She hadn’t even thought anything when she did it, it was just instinctive to kiss him on the cheek like that. In a way, the ways that she and Serix acted around each other, with their teasing and carrying ways that they treated each other, they indeed reminded her of the way her parents and other human couples had treated each other. So….what did that make she and Serix? And how did she feel for him really? Were they just fellow survivors? Or….did she feel something else for him? Did she…love him? The thought of feeling something like that for someone and being in that kind of a relationship in this type of world was something that scared her. Hearing him speak to her, she was brought away from her thoughts one more, her cheeks a bright red, though impossible to see in the dark, and hearing his stammering and knowing that was caused by her making her nervous, she cursed herself silently. Of course her doing something like that would make him uncomfortable. How could she have been so stupid to have tried something like that? Yes they were on good terms, but that didn’t mean he felt the same that she felt for him. He probably didn’t. She would have to be more careful to hide that from now on and keep her distance so she didn’t make him uncomfortable like that again. She glanced over to his figure in the dark and shook her head, “N…not yet. I still have two more boxes to go through though.” With that, she set to work going through the other two boxes and she was relieved that in the last box there was indeed a tool box. She sighed and nodded, dragging it over to the door and opening it up. Pulling out a flashlight, she spoke to him again, “Can you hold this for me so I can see the wires?” When he was doing like she said, she went to woke, struggling to keep her hands steady and from shaking. Taking slow and steady breaths like he was doing helped and after a good ten minutes of clipping wires and putting them back together, the lights began to flicker again and the door slid open. She was quick to get up and move out of the room with him, taking in a deep breath and leaning against the wall, smiling slightly, “We did it. We’re out.”
