Current you know, my SO never forces me to say a thing that's on my mind and doesn't mind if I don't always explain myself which makes it way easier to actually tell them stuff. boundaries good.

as much as I'd love to pre-plan RPs, I've also noticed that's the fast track to killing them. A little planning and a rough gist is fine, but anything beyond that and people don't wanna write no more.

The previous intro to this thread was hilariously dated (and badly written) but I'd feel bad deleting it outright, so have it in a hider.

Anyway, I'm not expecting to get many bites out of this old-ass thread. Even if I do, I'm picky about partners and am not known as the nicest person on the block. I know that putting myself down isn't exactly the best marketing strategy, but hey, I like letting people know what they're getting into.

PM me about anything you're interested in, for the record. I don't reply to this thread.

No 18+, por favor.

Every bump is met with instant regret.

The Fandom Section

Fandom is usually what I play in group, haven't actually tried it in a 1x1 setting yet. I'm a fan of loads of stuff, but I don't want to RP very much of it. I'll only want to RP something if I find the setting interesting enough to warrant being RP'd. Stuff like Goblin Slayer is just a bogstandard Pathfinder setting, for example, so that's not really my cup of tea even though I like the manga and anime of it. You'll have a hard time convincing me to do anything with canon characters, I'm a pretty OC-only kind of gal. If you don't see something you like that you think I'd enjoy, I might've just forgotten to put it in here, so you can always give asking me about it a shot. Just know that my interests are very anime.

Current interests:
  • Shin Megami Tensei
  • Pyre
  • Madoka
  • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon

I'm always up for this but it's a really bad idea to even try with me:
  • Yu-Gi-Oh!

The Other Section

I do surprisingly little original stuff, and the things I do do are usually settings created by someone else. I'm not too big on 24/7 worldbuilding, I like making stuff up mostly on the fly. Plots for me are more about stuff the characters get into and the world just serves as a barely functioning vessel for that. Don't expect something fleshed out from me.

Same as in the fandom section; there might be genres I just didn't think of, so you can always try and suggest something to me if you think you can get away with it. I like to try new things on occasion.

Genres I'm into:
  • Dark Magical Girl (Really just "We're not gonna say it's Madoka, but it's Madoka")
  • High Fantasy
  • Card Game anime inspired things (I've seen basically all of them. Wixoss, Battle Spirits, Build Divide, Vanguard, Shadowverse- still gotta see Zenozard, I'll get around to it.)

Stuff I'm slightly less into but am still willing to play:
  • Mecha
  • Urban Fantasy

Original "Plots"

See, the reason I put down "plots" like I did is because my ideas aren't 100% solid or coherent on a good day. Whatever I post here is more of a building block you need to brainstorm with me about, 'cause I sure don't have a set plan going in (on top of the prompts being, y'know, short). Stuff here might or might not have overlap with the fandoms/interests listed above; depends on my whims as the time.

"Hyah!"

Nico sliced through another one of the shades with ease, causing the remaining ones in the pack to grow slightly stronger as the ensuing mist spread among them. The annoying part was that this was additive; the power absorbed by one gets spread among the rest again once it was defeated, alongside its own base power. Sure, two weak things buffing each-other wasn't that much of a problem in isolation, but anything in excess causes unwanted trouble. Even now that the shades were down to about half from when Himeko and Nico started whailing on them they hadn't gotten too troubling, but once it was down to one or two left standing...

"Hey, purple!" Nico shouted over at Kagami. "Care to actually do your job? If one of these breaks from the pack and hurts a civilian, I'm holding you accountable, y'know!"

Honestly, chewing out the arrogant magical girl probably wasn't the smartest idea. All it served to do was take Nico's focus away from the fight, and the fighting itself is just about the best part of the job. Heck, maybe she didn't even want Kagami to help. The more Nico can chew through, the better! One of the shades thought he saw an opening through the kibbling and launched at Nico, who took notice and conjured up a small barrier to block its attack. The shade harmlessly bounced off and recoiled back, leaving an opening for Nico to cleave right through. Meanwhile, Himeko's flames caught another that attempted to jump on Nico while she was busy dealing with one of the hounds.

"Thanks, foxy!" Nico cheered. The struck-down shades evaporated, leaving a small dozen still hiding among the woods. "Not too long now..." Nico muttered to herself as she launched herself forward for another attack on the shades.
I think a wide range of settings are already around. I've been part of plenty of different genres in my time here and I don't think variety is an issue. Even stuff I have no interest in, such as historical or western settings, crop up from time to time.

I guess Persona is something I didn't get a chance to properly play, considering the only one I've been a part of was kind of a mess and didn't last too long. I'm always up for more card-game stuff too, but that's been super volatile for as long as I've been around.

Stuff like this comes and goes with the times, anyway. It's pretty random when any given setting will crop up, so taking matters into your own hands or getting a friend who's willing to GM would prolly be the best bet to playing something with any degree of certainty.

now where's my goddamn yugioh at

Nico's tail stopped swaying once the oh-so-generous offer was extended to her as well, matched by the pout on her face.

"Friendly chat my butt... besides, I don't really want to lay down my hex orb. If everyone did that, we'd just be causing the disaster we're meant to be avoiding! 'S not like I want to fight you, either..."

If her transformation had cat ears to go alongside it, they would've surely perked up now as the horrible, gnawing feeling became stronger and stronger after she'd said those words. The girl was aware that shades had formed around them, but from her vantage point she was still pretty safe. The mawless creatures observed her just as much as she did them, considering Nico had almost completely disregarded the other two magical girls at this point. "Not really sure why I should be entertainin' either, but these guys are a little more important than you..." she muttered while continuing to observe the shades. The forestry wasn't very thick, barely a couple of trees between the park and rest of the city, but it was enough to hide the fighting. She didn't need to worry about having to lure the shades somewhere else.

"Alright, let's go! Felid!"

Light twirled around Nico as she launched herself out of the tree and right into a pack of them, spinning through the air and leaving after-images of her scratch marks in the air. Two of the shades were deftly cut up on her landing without Nico breaking a sweat. The duo melted into a smokey mist that evaporated around the girl, who now found herself in the middle of all of the shades. Two, four, seven... o-oh. There were quite a few more than she was expecting.

"...Hey uh, foxy, mind helping me out a bit?" Nico sheepishly asked the kitsune-like magical girl before ducking out of the way of one of the shades' pounces. The second that tried to jump her was promptly met with claws impaling its underbelly, though it did manage to swipe at Nico while she briefly let her guard down. The damage wasn't major and she'd probably be fine handling all of them on her own if she used Clowder, but going all-out in front of the purple-haired one seemed like a bad idea. Besides, the fox lady was probably nice enough to help, wasn't she?
I should probably mention where I've been at

I've been preparing for going to uni next year and have been a little busy (japanese is lit btw) so I haven't had quite the proper moment to post, but I'll prolly be able to get around to it Wednesday forwards

apologies for the delays folks
I've always had a pretty hard stance against the concept of just tweaking one character, over and over, for multiple RPs. It's like the Ash Ketchum of RPing; Ash isn't an interesting character because he can't ever grow because of the status quo. Keeping with one thing for too long is just adding water to wine, you dilute the experience to the point of meaningless. I personally don't even see the appeal of keeping with one character unless you're self-inserting, which... is interesting.

Making a different character for each RP you join also just leads to more interesting characters, as far as I'm concerned. It gets you to write multiple personalities or make something that slots nicely into the cast instead of having overlap with others.

The only time I'd personally re-use characters are in reboots or sequels. A reboot leads me to get a second shot at writing the same person, maybe with some tweaks to their base to make them more interesting from the get-go and take it in a direction I couldn't before. As for a sequel, I'd only use a legacy character as a side-role at best, as they've already had their time in the sun and I don't want them to be an Ash.

No hate on people who stick to one character, tho. You do you and you have fun; it's just never something I've agreed with. Even in my Tumblr RPing days,(shudder) my one character was continually built on instead of having a soft reset each time. It helps I made him a dimension traveller back in the day, but I didn't want to take away anything from them each time I started a new RP.
