Skahn Dra

Skahn made motion to reply to the Hawk, who spoke as the leader, but before they could reply there was a quick gust of wind and sand was blown into the air. Skahn's large, wide head tilted to the side and their black glossy eyes locked on the one who announced themselves as the Karissa.

What an odd display of magic. Was the Karissa challenging the Hawk's role as leader?...No, to Skahn tis seemed to be more of a personal grudge. But why threaten a fellow Runner. It made little sense to Skahn, but no matter, there were other arriving now.

A stout Dwarf and a creature, soft-skin or not Skahn couldn't tell, covered in metal plates. Skahn had never seen such armor and it interested them. Skahn desperately wished to question the creature, but other things stood more paramount, such as the mission. Maybe later though, Skahn could ask.

Skahn's eyes returned to the Hawk, and they began to sign, as The Hawk seemed to understand it last time.

"Skahn apologizes, Skahn wishes to interrupt the..." there is a brief pause in the flurry of motion from Skahn's hands. "Skism between The Hawk and the Karissa to answer The Hawk's question as 'yes' and ask a question of Skahn's own. What are the details of this mission to Ruk? The Runners will be walking?"

The question came almost eager at the end. Skahn very much wished that they would not be riding the Boga. So, Skahn let their hands rest and waited patently for an answer, as surely more would soon be levied on The Hawk. This was to be the first mission for many it seemed, and Skahn was worried that there large group may attract attention walking through the sands to Ruk.

Thank you, I think it'll be fun and interesting character. I also enjoy Karissa as well, I'm enjoying all of the cast actually.

As the comforting warmth of the sun began to fade of the horizon, Skahn began to make their way from the outskirts of Sando into the city proper. Their massive chitinous form was covered lightly by brown ragged cloth, and straps of leather which held the ensemble together. Soft-skins made way for Skahn as they lumbered quietly and quickly through the streets and the night-vendors who were begining to sell their wares of food, blanket and kindling gave Skahn looks of suspicion and distrust. Zitan were not to be trusted, after all.

The smells of cooking meat and smoke from fires, both for cooking and warmth, wafted past the Zitan's antennae, which began to twitch.* For a brief moment Skahn considered attempting to purchase some of the food, but quickly perished the thought. Most soft-skins would not sell to Skahn, and besides, they had other things to do. The Runners had told Skahn to come to the stables, there was work to be done. So Skahn obeyed, and dutifully waded through the small soft-skins to the meeting.

It had been an interesting experience applying for the Sunrunners. Skahn had imagined that they did not get many Zitan, and for good reason. Runners were often the ones who cleared out Zitan camps from the outskirts of towns and villages. While Skahn had been subject to this a time or two, they held no ill will toward the organization, and had in fact, decided to join the organization after they had saved Skahn's own life. Now Skahn would work with them to save the lives of others. It was an interesting twist in the sands, as Skahn's elders used to say.

Skahn made their way to the stables, odd construction that they were, to find a small gathering of soft skins and boga. Skahn's plates began to itch, for Skahn found the Boga to be rather unnerving. Something about their bird like beaks and feathers set Skahn on edge. Skahn was not the only Zitan to feel this aversion, which is why so many Zitan choose to cross the desert in groups, rather than on boga-back. So Skahn skirted the creatures nervously as they made their way to the small group, and hoped that the mission was not to be done with the terrifying creatures.

It seemed some of the soft skins seemed to be speaking together when Skahn approached, so the seven foot Zitan attempted to at least make a graceful entrance into the conversation. Skahn fixed their lidless jet black eyes on the group and their middle arms came free of the cloak and made a small, friendly wave, before they began to use hand-speak.

"Greetings, friends. Skahn apologizes for the intrusion, but is this The meeting of Runners for the job to Ruk?"

While Skahn's hands moved at a rapid clip, transcribing the creatures thoughts into movement, Skahn attempted to speak in common, a rather daunting prospect that oftentimes resulted in a mass of hisses and clicks that were unintelligible. This time Skahn managed form only one, barely cohesive word, "Runners?"

  • Desert Traversal - Skahn knows how to navigate the dunes and twisting, shifting sands. With Skahn leading the way, you'll rarely be lost.
    Rarely.

Skahn is a large, lumbering Zitan. They have white, almost ashy looking body. Their chitinous form is covered by a brown, ragged cloak that is used to hide a backpack of similar color and repair. Skahn has six limbs, two legs and four 'arms' though their hands and feet look almost identical. Skahn keeps one pair of arms hidden inside their cloak most times, as It makes others less afraid. Skahn's eyes are jet black and glossy, reflecting the world with stark clarity. They sit on either side of Skahn's wide head, rotating in thier sockets every so often.

p e r s o n a l i t y
Skahn is a very kind soul, who resorts to violence only when necessary. If asked for help Skahn will absolutely give aid to any who ask it of them. They love more than anything to tinker with scrap and machinery to make either tools or useless mechanical toys, which they share with any they consider a friend. While Skahn is not violent by nature, if thier friends are threatened they will defend them until death.
