I'm trying to make a mech based on Nanotechnology, but its not easy to balance at all. :( More so because the only weaknesses would be weak armor, high energy consumption, weakness to fire or electricity or the like.

THOSE I'm fine with. Those are basically Megaman robots mixed with gundom and thats what I was expecting, that or like I said, tiny transformers like Arcee.

I'm more thinking of... Like Arcee from Transformers Prime, just human shape, you know, an actual 'mech' or 'robot' instead of a cyborg but with cyborg parts that make no sense due to how its just putting blocky bits on a female frame without any of the head or body tech necessary to support such bulky appendages like male characters get. Hence it looks like a girl with cosplay bits on instead of something that makes sense.

So are you limiting powersets or can anything go or what?

And are we talking modern DnD rules or... I think set 2 or 3 rules?

My problem is just how... predictable anime is now. Plus Japan's reluctance to do anything new with character design, esp when it comes to females. Males get it a little more lenient with character design because Japan doesn't care about them as much as male sexuality isn't taboo over there as much. I could go into a long detailed explanation why Japan is so adamant against not making non human character designs but... thats not here nor there. TDLR of that discussion though, Japan will be mostly dead in 100 years if their societal trends continue.

I'm just sad thats what the characters would look like. I was expecting something more like... I dunno... smaller sentient Gundoms or something. Something more unique instead of bland girls cosplaying with paper mache robot bits sticking out of or incorporating their limbs or non 'sexy' bits.

Oh, whats the point then? Its just the exact same thing every other anime does. Not even any cool cyborg parts like Deus Ex. I was hoping for something like tiny transformers (That don't turn into cars) or something of that nature. No Cyberpunk is sad.

Such a shame that is what Anime has been and wont change. :( And you'd think Japan would be more into cyberpunk stuff considering how much they like mechs.

So... its Monster Mesume but instead of monster girls its mech/robot girls and more action oriented instead of... fetish oriented? Am I understanding it right? And the mechs are... gundam size, Transformers size, or human size?

@Archmage MC Oh with out a doubt it is more interesting, seeing a guy get turned into Swiss cheese from a hail of gun fire then watching what's left of his body mend its self back together is so much more awesome than just watching some bullet proof guy walk through a cloud of bullets. But I don't think that isn't really what the deal is, it is Light doesn't seem like anything can really stop her sort of breaking her down to her atoms which is kind of hard to do.

Eh, Light herself, I gave her that "tie her up to give her lots of trouble" weakness. Basically Robin or Batman come in and its GG for her once they throw their boas at her. xD. I just dunno how to make it a weakness logically besides "just because". I'd think it would be to a missing or weak muscle group in her anatomy, but I don't know which ones it would be that aren't as needed for other basic things, such as locomotion. Everyone is hung up on trying to kill her, when you can do far worse BECAUSE she can't be killed very easily.
