We're gonna diiiiiiiiie!

<Snipped quote by Galvanize>

This is an attempt to manipulate me. Lucky for me, I see through your tricks.
*Crosses my arms and nods with a satisfied expression*
I'm wise to your schemes, Shadow Operator.

*After the terminals take a second to boot up, they force display on their screens “Local Power Mode. Estimated Time Before Shutoff: 00:02:14:38”, and the metallic door in our path slowly starts to slide open*
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

I don't put anything past them at this point!

<Snipped quote by Galvanize>

*My sunglasses slide down my nose*
Wait really how?

Well-

<Snipped quote by Webmaster>

Metal can actually be sweet!

<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Alright.
*walks over and places the helix into the slot*

*Nothing happens for several seconds, but after a long silence, you can hear a loud whirring behind the walls, as the electronics around us suddenly power on. A metallic latch seals shut over the cylinders’ slots, and the terminals power on simultaneously to the emergency lights around us shutting off, and loud mechanisms banging around in the walls by the door*
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Maybe Avis can use her magic dragon metal to make us not blow up?

Surely the secret room located below a place they allow guests isn’t rigged to blow if ever used wrong. But the safety net would be appreciated.
<Snipped quote by Webmaster>

I am losing you now.

<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Well, in my head creation is open, destruction is close.

You should put yours in there.
*Points to the slot next to the dead security terminals on the white side of the room*
Either you're right and it opens, or both together open the door. Or we blow up.

<Snipped quote by Galvanize>

So what do you say, kid, do we have a deal or no?

<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Well that was anticli—
*Suddenly looks over at the device, and then back at you after a few seconds*
—mactic.

Let's see what this does.
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

*Slams my helix into the opposite-color receiver*

*Watches in a cautious stance, ready to dash for the door as nothing happens*
<Snipped quote by Webmaster>

That sounds oddly ominous.

<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

So we combine them or put them into something? Or maybe each are a key to either open or close a door?

I think they may function if you slide them in these ports, in some way. I’m just not sure which should go where.

<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Well, you win some you lose some!
*Withdraws the helix*
Aaaaaare you ready to ruuuuumble!?

*Looks at the door ahead*
Ready as I’ll ever be.
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Either powering the room or blowing us up.
*Rubs my hands together*
I do love myself a good gamble. And boy am I bad at gambling!

I’d like to think it wouldn’t explode. But I can’t imagine anyone’s inspecting this place for code violations.
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

Oh! What if we flip them, do you think it'll neutralize each side!? Or what if that makes it unstable... sounds like we need a coin.

Blending the two together causes a highly energetic reaction. They use it in combat frequently, but maybe it could be used in a more utilitarian fashion.
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

…Will I be able to pull it back out?

I can’t tell.
<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

*looks at it*
Hopefully I can keep this for later.

I wonder if…
*Looks at the security hardware on the dark side of the room, then trots over and does the same on the bright side*
Do those things fit in these slots?

<Snipped quote by Galvanize>

What do you do other than that?

<Snipped quote by Armed Forces>

What sort? Hydroelectric? Geothermal? Political?

I’ve had more than enough of my fill dealing with the latter.
