The ending seemed more of a way to show off the Hunters and Huntresses that didn't really get any screen time beforehand, rather than a good ending. Also, I'm kinda for the Yang's mum theory now, since Yang's eyes go red when she does her Super Saiyan thing, and Mystery Girl's eyes where red.

It was less a finale and more a cocktease for Volume 3, imo.

1. I think it's Yang's mother, with an incredibly lazy Yang recolor model. There's quite a few theories linking her to this. Namely, the one linking her and Qrow together as siblings (Raven and Qrow Branwen) as spies for Ozpin. Explains why she suddenly disappeared, why she's in a White Fang mask and how she knew Yang was in trouble.
2. Seemed shoehorned in for the 'awesome factor'
3. 'Bout damn time.
4. Yeah, it was incredibly underwhelming for a catastrophe.

I feel like the fight scene in general was just... bad. It wasn't very long for a supposed catastrophe, it was a huge cluster fuck and nobody really got any time to shine because everybody got a chance to shine and not enough screen time was around for them all to share.

Except Team CFVY. Because you know, they've been so relevant until now that their presence was direly needed.

Feels like the entire episode should've just be named 'Foreshadowing for Volume 3' instead of the Volume 2 finale.

He's clearly got it out for the Schnee line, indicating that something more horrid was done to him and his family by the Schnees than most other Faunus involved in their laborforce. This guy has a vendetta; he's not just some braindead thug.

Or, as a member of the White Fang, he looked forward to killing the heiress of the company that's oppressed his people for years. Most White Fang aren't above murdering humans or otherwise.

Neo seems a bit Deus Ex to me. Like, they started their main characters to strong, and now they need to make someone even stronger just so the outcome of fights is not predictable.

By that definition, any antagonist who doesn't get shit stomped by a protagonist and gives them a challenge is a deus ex. Weiss also got beaten by the Lieutenant. He's just.. not as popular as Neo, because he his fight showed the personality of a potato as compared to Neo's smug ass scuffle.
