*It seems to be a wide broadcast without a specific point of entry, but emerging from a distinct other universe*

*Attempts to isolate this distinction to give any inclination as to where it lies by analyzing the manner it emerged as best I can*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I think we found one? Let's try to trace it!

Where did it enter from?
*Leaps upward and along its path, scanning the air as I go for a fresh entry point into this dimension*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Nnnnope, nothin'.
*Suddenly an incoming signal hammers both devices at the current level of sensitivity*

*Snaps my gaze to the air following the trajectory the photons arrived from*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

*The device picks up on the small fluctuations but lacks any solid tie to another station*

*Motions to the areas of distortion*
Does yours give you anything over here?
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Yeah, like on the scanner your dad gave you.
*Little more than residual distortions remain on the asteroid from the last pulse it received*

I can try that too. I don’t mess with electrons all that much, but a little boost can’t hurt.
*Tries boosting the potency of the scanner with as much as I think the device can handle*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I thought your power was energy amplification or something.

Kind of. Wait, are you saying to amplify the signal? I thought you were talking about amplifying the spacial tears… Nevermind. I can try to amplify the signal’s strength, maybe- No, wait a minute.
*Lowers my phone and looks up and down the equipment, squinting as I filter through the noise of the light rays and other stray radiation to see if I can feel the photons from radio signal emissions or anything of the like*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Yeah. Maybe we can amplify them somehow? I don't know, just spitballing.

I don’t know how to do anything like that.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

*Turns on Artemis' device in tandem and waves it around in my hands*
Mmmmmm... nothing too terribly strong.

It doesn’t seem that way. I’m afraid to just assume it’s not there and miss it though.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

*Shrugs*
As far as I get it, all of them are sending signals to other random stations. I don't know why or how that does anything. But maybe it means it's as common as we need it to be.

It has to source from somewhere, right? If the signals being sent out were always random then I feel like that doesn’t really… Achieve the goal, right? The end of the line, on one end or the other, would have to be your home.
*Holds my phone out in front of me, aiming it at and angling it toward the manmade bits in the crater*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

*Raises the machine above my head with both hands*
Victory is ours!

*Raises a fist over my own head to match*
Let’s gooo!
*Turns around toward the crater and pecks at my phone*
I was trying to see if Dad had any options for signal tracking. Either I’m just really dumb, or we’re gonna have to comb the area carefully for minor rifts. I think the good news would be that since these are holes in space that I can only assume are opened regularly if they exist, that the tears should stay fresh for longer? I think?
*Walks around the crater, in particular near the derelict equipment*
It’s all just me assuming things. I don’t actually know how this stuff works in practice.
