I'll get a post up later on tonight. Entrance Exams are all week in-character. Returning students are recommended to take part as well, simply for the sake of showing newcomers what kind of growth is expected.

About how much player interaction do y'all want before shit starts going down?
@Dark Light now has jurisdiction over teaching students how to use a rifle and dual swords at the same time. Multiple limbs are useful, people!
@Jay Kalton

Add one more point to attributes and you're approved.
@Eragon

Aircraft Maintenance and Piloting courses need a professor.
Mechanized Cavalry (early period tank command and maintenance) does as well.
Vision classes need a professor (oracle/seer type power perhaps?).
Compromise classes (generalized magic/reality-manipulation) need a professor.

Those are the needed classes.

It might also be nice to include a few other courses as well - combat training, military strategy, fitness and weight training, etc.
@Etranger
Go for it :)
More characters is always nice, aye?

@Dark Light
Aye. I think we were in Elemental Academy together a while back. Feel free to drop off a WIP CS when you've got something - images are optional, so they can be added after the fact if you'd like.
Ren

Plotting a Slaughter

Ren's habit of cycling between its bodies continued on board the ship before the meeting and after the bar brawl. The machine was addicted to its unique ability to think differently depending on which unit was active, and on occasion, it made a half-hearted attempt to force itself into both Renli and Rento at once. A few seconds of colliding thoughts and consciousnesses sent a short ripple of weak, unpleasant psychic energy through the ship - not because Ren had any innate psychic abilities, but because all of Ren's minds violently rejected one another, and Ren found itself with not one but three headaches.

Later, during the meeting and planning of the mission, Rento spoke up. Renli was still on board the Revenant moving shells from the cargo hold into the turrets - it seemed prudent to make sure everything was completely loaded, even if they hadn't spent all that much on the mining station job.

"There won't be any children on their ship, Bones. It's a raiding vessel, isn't it? Don't'cha think kids would just, uh, get in their way?"

Unless they were hostages from a previous run the raiders had made. That might be a bit troublesome, but she'd burn that bridge when she got to it. Rento continued, "Either way, I'm staying with the Revenant. If any of me are active and move to another region of space on board the Maelstrom without my core, I'll shut down until I can reboot and lord only knows how long that'll take. Any vague ideas what that battle armor can do? Do we know what kinds o' weapons they use, or are we running in blind again?"

There were some other thoughts and worries running through her mind in regards to other crew members, but she opted not to voice them.
@jynmi88

Yeah, what Graff said. Constitution = generalized body durability in D&D terms. Usually deals with things like alcohol, poison, pain tolerance, etc. in that setting, and that's what I take it to mean here as well.

@Eragon

Go for it. Unusual is what I'm hoping for. :D

I'll give it a few days before I move along the RP. Needs more staff/teacher characters too.
Opening ceremony starts in seven minutes in-character. Someone forgot to set the clock right and the staff are running late.

Feel free to post and socialize on the train, on the path, in the courtyard, whatever. Students may also arrive late on a second train load if need be. Older students who stayed for summer courses aren't required to participate in the opening ceremony, but it doesn't hurt.
A Cold August Day

9:00 AM, August 6th, 1210PW. 34 Degrees Fahrenheit. Raining.
The Queen was spotted at a party late last night wearing a crinoline. Fashion outlets are in an uproar, with actress Elissa Ardvulf, starring in The Wondrous Laboratory (coming out Summer 1211), issuing the statement, "I don't care if the Queen herself wears one of those horrid old things. Crinolines? Please, I don't need one of those to look good, and neither does anyone else, Queen Milla included. They're not worth the fire hazard." - The Unoctoc View

Far to the south in the grey, overcast skies, a series of red streaks through the clouds just above the horizon. The Deadlands are still being pummeled a thousand miles away and the stream of dust returning to Earth brings a pleasant orange glow to match that of the sunrise an hour earlier. Soft pattering sounds pop in and out of existence as small droplets of rain splash onto the corrugated steel roof over the Institute train stop, with mud visibly forming in the grassy woods on either side of the railroad tracks and the path away from the station and the scent of petrichor sweetening the air.

The first load of newcomers steps off of the train in single file and wanders down the path away from the station, as per the instructions on the acceptance letters sent to each applicant. The new students and teachers are all of various ages and shapes and sizes, though they're predominantly human of normal size and shape. A few chimeras walk behind the rest of the crowd, opting to keep to themselves, and a single sapient Monster in the form of a small, blue-grey, four-eyed housecat walks to the left side of the line of students, sticking to the muddied grass in favor of the gravel that would irritate its footpads.

Upon realizing that he's still rather dry, one of the older men in the procession looks up to the sky to discover that the rain is being parted above the path, and a bemused look crosses his face. I suppose this is what Magic is..., he thinks to himself, having never been exposed to it before.

In fifteen minutes, the procession arrives at the frontal gates of Mordhaben's Institute for Aspiring Mages and enter the courtyard for the opening ceremony. The gates are wrought iron in an ornate floral pattern, twenty feet wide and twelve feet tall. In the center of the gate is a plate of thin metal with the words 'For the Sake of Progress' cut into it in cursive text, and upon arrival, the gates open on their own, revealing a circle twenty meters wide paved with flagstones, surrounded on all sides by the most beautiful flowerbeds and miniature trees in the country. The administrative building front steps are on the far side of the courtyard, with a podium standing at the top, and the walls of the administrative building wrap around the entire courtyard to meet the iron fence.
