I'll play when I'm not consumed by IB Projects.

<Snipped quote by Mammalia>

So far, yes.

Can we switch it out, then?

Not all universes would have heat death due to different physics, but similar processes, or even simply end of time and new cycle.
Remember that when Tier Five was in control, portals put huge stress on travelers their first time.
Most likely, the relatively few survivors of their first portals would be ostracized if they tried to teach others and they got killed/went insane when they were taught.
This would likely lead to hermit esque lives, leading eventually to death by discovery of them in a dimension they have an alternate that's the same as them and the others around freaking out, old age, dangers they weren't prepared for because they didn't exist in their universe, etc.
Or would lead to them finding and staying at a dimension where other travelers were, adding to the culture of that universe of dimension travelers.

Logically, at least. Not necessarily canon.

I thought that was only if the travellers didn't have help; i.e. they made their own portals. I just assumed that the portals created were machines or something and that that negated the problem.

Another possibility, then, is that universes filled with a very strong-willed or strong-minded population were those who discovered dimensional travel and had that take off. That would significantly lower the number of universes truly aware of Existence. Or, as another example, enough people were sent through from a universe and survived that they could then ferry ships around Existence. In fact, I can imagine that in the current society of aware universes, that's actually a thing, even a profitable business.

I heard. I watch direwolf20.
I can't get the signs to work but if I figure it out do you want to know how so you can do it?

<Snipped quote by Etcetera>

Economic only.

Actually I'm saying don't vote for retards. There are a couple other candidates that I don't know off the top of my head.

Oh, really? Awesome.
Sure. I haven't played MC without using a modded challenge map in a long, long while, but if I ever find the time to actually do a normal world, then I'll want to have that info on hand. (After all, Millenaire hasn't been updated in over a year, so I don't expect any bugs that we can fix ourselves to be fixed any time soon unless someone takes over.)
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Theoretically. I'm not creating canon, just proposing a possibility.

That possibility just doesn't feel right to me. I don't know why. It just sounds wrong. *shrug* I'm weird.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

The ability to leave dimensions.

That ability can be withheld altogether?
Reading about Walt Whitman in Amer. Lit. and now I'm kind of sad. He's a good poet, but the influence he gave to poetry is not.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Unless it's not equally available to all.

What's not, and why?
(that was an edit because previously I just had a "?" and that did not do well to portray my question)
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Pretty much. And the fact that dimensional travel scientifically takes abhorrently specific conditions means that it probably won't be discovered.

Yeah. That in itself would be a big deterrent, which is why I mentioned "many long aeons". Probability can be unreliable, but on average, things actually manage to work out the way it says they will. Many long aeons means many many universes means many many chances to discover dimensional travel.
I just thought of an interesting process of Existence. Assuming that, if a dimension gets advanced enough, it is possible to discover true dimensional travel, then over the many long aeons, surely there must have been many dimensions to discover Existence, certainly more than how many exist now. So I considered this for a while, wondering about reasons, and then I realised: heat death. The imminent destruction of a universe would surely cause all of its residents to leave that universe or die out altogether, if they haven't already moved and blended with the rest of the population of aware Existence. So the number of aware universes would be continually kept down, and of course Tier 5 would keep some universes from discovering dimensional travel, as well.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

That's not a thing, is it? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

Irradiated photons are literally radiation; radiation violently disrupts particles in cells; this destroys their balance and kills them; the more radiation, the worse the bombardment.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

You said Technique.

The moves they are using are called Techniques.

You accidentally made a pun.

That's what I thought you were thinking. I also thought that that's a dumb pun the moment I thought that.
