Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

I'll be honest, I don't much like any of those Pokemon XD Paras was my legendary catching slave.

Lol. Well then. Sounds like the right thing to do would be to let @Dusksong call dibs and you take what's left. (Since none of these Pokemon are great for you). :)
I will take the Clefairy at level 6 I got to be careful with my one pokeball lol

Heard. But Professor Rowan can give Cerce two more Pokeballs before tomorrow. You can write that in whenever you want.

Also. When we leave Russia, you'll all be getting the reusable Pokeballs.
(Not So Quick Note: I have three user controlled characters that have not captured a Pokemon yet and three wild Pokemon to catch. So, this is the plan: @Cerces22,@Zarkun, and @Dusksong: You three may call dibs now on the Pokemon you would like to TRY to catch. Obviously, if you pick the Stantler, you are volunteering to be the next person to post; Paras is second; Clefairy is third. You may choose the Pokemon's gender and level. It's level can be anywhere from lvl 5 to lvl 15. You will post about the trip to the location, the discovery of the Pokemon, and your first Pokeball throw. I will then run a series of dice rolls to see if you catch the Pokemon, regardless of how many throws it takes, or if it runs away.

Let's do the dibs calling here in the OOC section... obviously I would hope. :)

08:30 Local Time
The cafeteria was full, as everyone was still wiping away the crust from their eyes and chowing down on another simplistic Russian breakfast. At the beginning of the week, the room was mostly divided into two sections: the trainers and the would be trainers. But now, with three entire days under their belts, the two factions were beginning to intermingle; the room was no longer clearly divided.

Towards the end of lunch, Professor Rowan stood on top of a chair and called for everyone's attention, "Alright everyone! If I may have your attention please!" The room quieted down fairly quickly. "Thank you very much. Now, I'd like to run over today's schedule with you." He was referencing a piece of paper in his hand. "At 09:30 we will be heading out in two vans. Our first stop will be where the heard of Stantler were most recently seen. We will explore the surrounding area for a about four hours before moving on to our next stop. The next stop will be a return trip to the Norilsk Airport, where you all arrived a few days ago. There we will have lunch and then begin exploring the area to the south of the airport; hopefully we will be able to find some Paras in that area. Again we will spend about another four hours here. After that, we will return back here. Tomorrow, we will be driving a little further and spending the day looking for Clefairy in the mountains... So eat up, and get ready. Busses leave in forty minutes... Thank you all."

As Professor Rowan left the cafeteria, voices began to fill the room once more, some people resuming their original conversations. Others focused on the announcement, fantasizing about catching their first Pokemon.

Also: It is Summer in the northern Hemisphere. And at our Latitude, that means there are only a couple hours of night time a day. While it is cold, it's not snowy. So please tone down the mentioning of snow. Most of that stuff has been melted, the ground is mostly wet, muddy, and icy.

@Balthazar007 Just wondering, would you be willing to open the RP back up to applications and new users? Four people is a nice, small group, but some more posters would be nice. It wouldn't be that hard for them to join right now either, if you don't have any future plans that require a small group.

@Dusksong

I think he is doing this way because it is easier on him long run, after boot camp we all get split in 4 diff groups. Each person will have to keep track of two different missions and 2 different character arcs, but he has to develope 4 missions, wild pokemon encounters and the eventual team whatever we will have to defeat. I would love more players, but I don't want to overwhelm Balthy either

It's funny that you two bring this up now. I was just thinking about this, this morning. Cerce's response is exactly right. But at the same time. I have thought of a way that more users could actually decrease my work load.

The idea is that new users could control side characters that could engage your main characters within your story lines. If you go to the 1st OOC post, you can see where I've outlined this in a little further detail, under the subtitle "Requirements to Join & What We're Looking For".

I haven't fully fleshed this out (considering I just started thinking about it this morning), but if you know anyone that might be interested, I'm open to bounce the idea around with them.

Thanks!

That's exactly what I'm asking. All in favor?

Cerce clearly agrees. And I can't see why anyone would object. So that's what we'll do.

I'm not going to edit my past posts. We're just going to introduce reusable Pokeballs in a later post. We'll say that the ones you were already given were just prototypes.

@Balthazar007 Are our characters free to explore around a bit, or should they just stay in the camp for now?

You can explore around a bit. But there won't be any wild Pokemon sightings. Cool? :)
Waiting on @luckyblackcat to post before I throw mine up

Ewww.... You said "throw up". Lol

Sorry. My inner kid told me to say that. :)
@Balthazar007 I'd also like to point out that using the games's "used pokeball" economy might not work well if they're out in the field after boot camp. Especially since we see them reuse a Pokeball that didn't catch a Pokemon the first try in the show.

Just so we're on the same page, are you requesting that Pokeballs be reusable if they fail to catch? I'm not against that thought if that's what y'all wanna do.
@LuckyBlackCat@Cerces22@Zarkun@Dusksong

Alright Everyone,

I am going to post again (to the IC section) on Friday. I have a plan to help us glide through the rest of this Bootcamp phase, but I need to iron it out (i.e. think more about it)

Plus I want to give you all a few days for free play posting. Your characters could benefit from some old fashioned mingling. Chemistry building if you will. And what better atmosphere for that than a lobby with a camp fire.

PS: The window with the bullet hole was repaired while we were out on our little excursion.

:)
