Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Semi-Finals Round 1 !!

Lee was warming up in the corner of the room, slightly hidden behind some workout equipment, when the tournament employee found him. "Mr. Lee sir, your match is starting. Your opponent is waiting for you in the ring."

Lee only looked at the man with a blank stare. Then, he disappeared, at least as far as the employee could tell. In actuality, he ran past the man just as he blinked, not on purpose. He was simply that excited for this match, even if he wasn't going to show it on the outside.

Lee slowed his stride as he stepped out of the building and into view of the crowd. He effortlessly moved at the pace of a normal man walking as fast as they could. When he reached his spot in the ring, he gave Bakuto an apologetic bow.

"Perfect!" The announcer/referee proclaimed, quickly skipping backward to take his place at the edge of the ring. "Now that we have both our contestants here, let the battle commence!" This announcement was met with the roar of the crowd and the sound of the gong.

Lee charged forward at top speed, not wasting a breath. This wasn't the opponent to hold back on. He was going to give him all he had, from the very beginning, including his special technique...

Simple in nature, but powerful nonetheless, he pulled back his fist and jabbed it forward. His fist glowed with a black and white aura, only visible to other ki users specializing in the yin-yang style of ki, or ki users in general, if they were strong enough. Bakuto, being Lee's equal in strength but not a specialist in yin-yang ki, could see the faintest glow coming off his fist.

@BladeSS4
Hey, sorry for the wait. I'm glad you waited for me to start the fight; you could have started it if you wanted, and I would have took extra damage for not responding promptly... Oh well, lol.

I'm working on my post now.
@Darkmoon Angel@FalloutJack@BladeSS4
Okay everyone,
We've made it this far, and as usual I will be adding another element to the gameplay. To reward faster posting or (more accurately) discourage slow posting, once the gong is rang and the first move is made, there will be a timer of sorts. If a response takes longer than a day, your opponent's damage to you will increase.

To be exact (but again, you don't need to calculate these things yourselves, this is just for inquiring minds) for every day beyond one day that you take to respond, your opponent's damage to you will be increased by 10%.

We can reason this as your character's REACTION TIME.

For example, if your opponent posts one day and you post on the next day, nothing will change; they will receive no bonus. BUT if they post one day and you take two days to respond, the damage they deal to you will be multiplied by 1.1. If it takes you three days to respond, the damage they deal to you will be multiplied by 1.2. And so on...

Alright @BladeSS4, Bakuto is up next. You can catch us up on his thoughts and bring us all the way onto the arena. You can even ring the gong and make the first move if you want. I will be controlling Lee, and he will have 110 health and energy, just like Bakuto.

Semi-Finals Round 1 !!

The once full room, where the contestants all fought in the preliminaries, was now nearly empty. There were only the four remaining fighters, and a couple employees watching over them. They were given an hour to rest and more senzu beans.

It was now late evening. The sun was halfway down. In a few more hours, it would be setting behind the classic architecture of the building where the fighters patiently waited. Outside however, the crowd was growing restless. So when the announcer came running out, sporting his trademark smile, nearly everyone stood up.

"Alright! Alright!" He proclaimed with arms wide open, the microphone hidden well on his face. "We have four fighters left, and I believe I speak for everyone when I say, this is going to be a night to remember! With any outcome, we will be looking at a new World Martial Arts champion, to reign supreme for the next five years! Now, without further adieu, let's get this party started, shall we!?" The crowd cheered. "I can't hear you!" They cheered louder. "Now let the fighters here you!" The stadium erupted, not a soul was sitting anymore...

Yes, I'm just delayed by some computer woes. It'll be posted soon.

I love the direction your character thinks this is going. Not a bad assumption at all. I'll have my next post up tomorrow, hopefully.
Looks to me like it's reaction time. And looking at it, Niko's got the scrutin-eye on that one. Something wasn't right...

You still want to post a reaction?

Kinda feels like you might be picking up what I was putting down. Not to give anything away. ;)

"Hey, uh," he paused, searching for words. "Good to see you guys. Right, Margo and Dan and me-- we decided to go our separate ways." He shrugged, trying to hide the surge of pain he felt. "But you know, that's how it is. How are you guys doing?" He figured he could at least inquire. It was the polite thing to do and they would probably dismiss his general concern. Then he'd be on his way.

Right?

Right???

"Oh..." Jack paused. "Sorry to hear that." He then huffed and sat back down in his chair. He took another bite of his apple, which was almost finished at this point, and stared off into blank space, just the way Indigo had found him when he arrived.

Before the silence got too awkward, Jill explained. "Jack lost in last night's contest. The Saturday contests are generally for established trainers, but given our reputation, they made an exception for Jack."

"And I got my ass kicked." Jack said, still staring off into the distance. "I did well in the appeal rounds, but I was slaughtered in the contest battle. I was just... too weak..."

Indy sympathized. Losing sucked. "I doubt you were weak. I think it just happens sometimes."

Jill shrugged and crossed her arms. "He shouldn't have accepted the invite to begin with. Nobody else in that contest had been a trainer for less than a whole year. It was a-"

"And now I'm a laughing stock." He interrupted, dropping his apple core onto the plate below. "My reputation is ruined." His face remained stoic, but his voice shook.

Again, saving everyone from silence, Jill spoke up. "So what's your next move, Indigo? We're still trying to figure out ours."

"Weeeeell," Indigo drew out the word. "I... don't really know. I was just going to go to the next contest?" It sounded more like a question than an answer. "See the sights too, on the way. I haven't thought about it too much... What about you guys?"

"Well, the next arena is in Valpisa Town." Jill answered, happy to change the subject. "It's home to the Clear Sky Arena. We'll have to go there eventually. I need the badge and you two need the ribbon."

"Right," Indy nodded. "Valpisa? I still haven't looked up where that is. Thanks for letting me know. Do you know when the contest is? And how long it takes to get to Valpisa?"

Jack remained silent, content with letting his sister do the talking. "If we were to go straight there, it would take about two days, counting time to rest. Of course, we would want to catch Pokemon and train along the way, so we're probably looking at longer than that."

The very mention of that much effort woke Jack from his daze. "There has to be a better way to get around. That's ridiculous."

"Well, until we catch Pokemon that we can ride, that's the only way." Jill shrugged. "What about you Indigo? Have you caught any Pokemon that you can ride yet?"

"No," Indy shook his head. "I've seen some cool ones, like I saw this Rapidash the other day-- super beautiful. But I don't have any of my own.... Wait, could we maybe rent some ride pokemon?"

"Rent ride Pokemon? Yeah... I think I heard something about that." Jill answered. "I think there's a Pokedex app for that." She pulled out her Pokedex. "You have to download it though. It's not pre-installed."
...

By 5 pm however, Indy and his pokemon were exhausted. The day had been fun, but tiring. It was time to head back to the center and wind down for the day. Making it back to their room in the pokemon center, Indigo and his pokemon promptly fell asleep.

The early morning sun woke Indigo once again, this time at 8am. "Early to bed, early to rise." as they say. Indigo shook his fist feebly at the blinds before letting out a groan and sitting up in bed.

Some freshening up later, he was headed down the stairs to grab some breakfast and be on his way. 'To where?' he thought, uncertain. Maybe the next city that was having a contest? Or maybe just stick around a few days longer? He didn't know what he wanted to do.

Down in the Pokemon Center's cafeteria, Indigo ran into two familiar faces, the rich and famous twins, Jack and Jill. The two blonde haired siblings sat at a table, looking a lot more miserable than the last time Indigo saw them, which felt like years ago. How long had it been? Days? Weeks?

Jill stirred a bowl of cereal. She'd apparently been doing this for a while, because the cereal was soggy. Jack's normally pristine hair was clean, but not styled, and he had bags under his eyes. He bit into an apple, a bit of aggression in the bite.

Jack noticed Indigo first. "Well if it isn't the great Indigo Rose." He said, then took another bite of his apple. He then stood and spoke a little louder, food in his cheeks. "I bet you'd love to rub your victory in my face, but if I would have been in that silly little tournament, I would have been the winner, not you."

The other trainers in the cafeteria tried to ignore the scene Jack was creating. They kept to their breakfasts, only taking occasional peaks.

Before Jack could say anything more, his sister stood up and put a hand on his shoulder. "Jack, stop." Luckily, this worked. "Look at him. Does he look like he wants to mock you? Hey Indigo, where are you friends?"
@Darkmoon Angel
You're up! Just waiting on your final reaction to the battle's end. I know it ended suddenly, but it felt right at the time.

After you go, everybody else can comment. Then we'll be on to the next stage of the tournament!
