Bio
I am a Roleplayer with an interest in science fiction and fantasy, with a preference for Casual. I have been roleplaying for several years, and have even taken a stab at running a few RPs.
Outside the Guild, I am an Australian science student, gamer, musician and roleplayer (that's right, IRL too).
Divinus: The God Roleplay, Mk III We are new-born gods, summoned into an empty World by the powerful and enigmatic Architect. Our purpose is to create and fill the world of Galbar and the godly Spheres surrounding it, although with such a diverse pantheon there is all manner of disagreement over what to fill the world with. I co-GM this roleplay. I also play as Ashalla, the Goddess of the Ocean.
Divinus: The Deity Roleplay Mk2 We are new-born gods, summoned into an empty World to create a Universe where the last one was destroyed. Some wish to build it up, others wish to tear it down, and there is great conflict over what kind of Universe to create and what to put in it. I play as Teknall, the God of Crafting. He's a nice guy. I was also promoted to co-GM about half way through.
The Horde of Evil Under the command of a Dungeon Keeper, a horde of powerful beasts, monsters, warriors and demons sweep out to pillage the world beyond and battle against powerful foes. But a horde of the vilest beings in the land is far from cooperative... I played Torrens Igneus, a cunning fire demon and veteran servant of Dungeon Keepers throughout the ages.
Dungeon Keepers In this iteration, the Keepers arrive on a new world, in the land of Cyprus. This land is small and rich with resources, ripe for conquest. Yet it is ruled by a powerful and strangely unified nation of humans, with a King who has more power than he should... I GM'd this one. I controlled King Reginaldus, the sorcerer king with the power to read and manipulate people's minds while they slept. I've played in numerous past iterations before, although not all were on the Guild.
Sanctuary In a land where magical crystals power modern technologies, a terrible Cataclysm strikes the capital city. Spirits good and bad are unleashed upon the populace, and the military seal the entire city away behind an impenetrable wall. The spirits fuse with many people, granting them powers but also driving many to evil and violence. The players must try and survive in this post apocalyptic cityscape, and maybe even find a way to escape. I played as Zachary Mason, a kind-hearted, prodigious engineer, who is possessed by Kaa'is. He gains powers to control metal and read machines, but Kaa'is also drives him to become physiologically addicted to murder, an addiction he tries to suppress.
BattleCorp: Combatant Creator Tabletop section. The gist is that you get to invent your own special moves when you level up, tailored to your hero. I played David Pierce, a serious and dark gunslinger.
<Snipped quote by Aeonumbra> I have a rough idea outline for a system that can solve a variety of problems.
- A user can mark a roleplay as one of their "Active Roleplays". There are various ways of enforcing this that I don't want to ponder right now, but it can include things like: you can only post in roleplays on your "Active" list, a GM with a roleplay open to applications must manually add players to the "Active" list before they can post IC, etc.
Having the requirement to be manually added to the Active list before IC posting may be a hinderance, unless it was a specific opt-in checkbox in the edit form. It would be useful for some RPs, but not all. (In other news, approving new entrants gives a new use for Co-GMs) For those without restriction, you should be automatically added to the Active list when you make your first IC post.
I can imagine the Active RPs system acting similarly to the Subscriptions system. In fact, the two lists may as well go on the same page. Of course, for some reason a user might not want notifications from all their Active RPs, only a few (once you add read/unread posts, of course). This can be avoided by keeping the two lists separate. The Active RPs list can be beneath the Subscriptions list, so it is only seen if you scroll to it (rather than the other way around).
Removing a user from an Active RP list should only be able to be done by that user themselves or a moderator. Otherwise you start giving GMs moderator level powers, which was agreed earlier to be not a good idea.
Emily is a Rogue Being with a deep grudge against the Keepers for killing her, and destroying her world. The spirits right now bolster her abilities to make her a sort of Pseudo-Keeper, but I am thinking that I could find someone later in Cyprus that could bond them permanently to her. Making them part of her, rather than just her being a host.
OK, that then. It's a little fuzzy on exactly what Emily is categorised as, then.
Anyway, Teknonick, if you want to interfere with another character using NPCs, you would need their permission (unless you have an already established bunch of NPCs which the character interfered with first).
The golems are NPCs, and are the inhabitants of Monolith. Lugubrious is in charge of them, so he posts on their behalf.
Emily is a Keeper, although a slightly different Keeper. She is technically not a Hero, just a not particularly evil Keeper with the goal of destroying all other Keepers.
We are not having hero characters here, too complicated. Hero NPCs, sure- if you want one to face your own Keeper, you can make one yourself (it will generally fall under the category of 'minor NPCs', which you can make and control), or you can ask someone else (such as a GM) to make a hero to face you.
(Paragraph test): As cunning as a vinnie's also he hasn't got a bastard. As cross as a vb when he's got a massive squizz. Lets throw a cockie flamin lets get some chuck a yewy. Grab us a lizard drinking bloody lets get some servo. She'll be right fisho no worries she'll be right bathers. We're going mappa tassie where flat out like a chrissie.
He's got a massive muster my stands out like a cook. He hasn't got a bikkie also trent from punchy ripper. Built like a grouse piece of piss as cunning as a chewie. Trent from punchy relo also she'll be right down under. Lets get some pretty spiffy no worries flat out like a . Shazza got us some pig's arse when as busy as a g'day. Flat out like a jug to gutful of struth. She'll be right bastard when get a dog up ya wuss.
No, that's not what I was looking for. While you have made it so we can have multiple lines per dot point, you have not allowed for any separation between dot points.
Oh, sorry about that.
Example:
If you try to add in a bunch of spaces in front of this, it still lines up with
this line below, right down here.
But if you could add in line spaces (Let's pretend theses dashes are invisible and you can't see them)
-Teknonick's Application
--Appearance
---Descriptive words here...
--Biography
---More descriptive words, yet again...
It helps to make very condensed, yet still formatted and tidy posts.
So you want indents, yes?
I'd also like line breaks to exist between dot points in a list (or, at the very least, not get gobbled up).
But they look ugly now. I like the rounded buttons.
Second, I managed to find the full-screen button while editing a post. When exiting fullscreen, however, I discovered that the body of that post had realigned to the center, shoving the avatar section aside. I reproduced it just to make sure it was not the resizing- it wasn't, just the fullscreen.
There's still this misalignment issue, on the PC version no less. Encountered by editing a post, going to fullscreen, then back again.
As Reginaldus watched the dreams of his citizens at night, he noticed a disturbance in two separate villages. The first was odd, but not immediately threatening. He discovered that an earthquake had opened a large fissure in the town, stretching deep into the earth. Seeing that they were going to send a messenger the next day, Reginaldus planned to anonymously ask the civil engineers how to fix a large earthquake-caused fissure so they would be more prepared. Anonymous tip-offs were Reginaldus's main way of acting on what he saw in the dreams, aside from the weekly meetings with the High Court. The fissure seemed to have unsettled the town, at a cursory glance it seemed to be quite natural if just unusual.
The second village, however, was much more worrisome. Early in the night, it was the buzz of the town that a mother and son had been taken away by some strange beast and that a group of men had gone off after the beast. Probing the mind of the farmer who actually saw the event, he managed to deduce that this beast was some horrifying mangled combination of flesh and limbs, although the details were blurred by fear and horror. Then, later in the night, 6 more souls joined the people sleeping in the village, and these confirmed the fears that something was terribly wrong. They were the men who had gone out to hunt down the beast, and they found that there were more of them in a grotesque grotto of flesh and death, which was much too dangerous and horrible for them to fight on their own.
Reginaldus woke immediately after getting all information he could. Something horrible had emerged near that village, inside his domain. Some vile thing was threatening the security of his kingdom. He would have to send a military patrol out to gauge the situation more accurately, and thus determine how to eliminate this threat. Reginaldus could not allow such threats to unravel his brilliantly organised kingdom.

true. Not sure what way that user had input his BBCode. It certainly isn't too much to ask them to fix it (we did), but if its the sort of thing that could easily be fixed for avoiding future bothers, then we figured we'd mention it.
would it be functional / a good idea to have it so that when BBcode in a post isn't working right after you post it, you get a big red sign telling you so?
Or, better, warn of potential errors right before you post it. (At the moment, to detect errors, first you have to click preview, but that can only help you if you choose to check). Perhaps, when you click post reply and it senses errors, it gives a pop-up or something telling you it has potential errors and asking you "are you sure?" At the same time, it needs to be relatively unobtrusive. I don't want a big nasty sign shouting at me any time it thinks my BBCode is wonky.
